I just remembered that I wanted to make my witch into a kineticist, so I'll provide ranged support here, but it's a slightly different character build.

Oops, didn't expect this to get up and running so quickly. Will at a minimum get intro up by tonight and will have character sheet and details filled out by tomorrow mid-morning. Apologies for my delay. Daughter's 2nd bday today so things are hectic!

![]() |

Happy Birthday to your Daughter Calvert and welcome to the Terrible 2s of parenthood.

![]() |

Sorry for delay - every time I tried to post the site was down :(

![]() |

Yes. Things are progressing nicely.

![]() |

Been a little busy over the weekend, but it looks fine to me. Thanks for running Noral! We seem to wind up in a lot of games together lol

![]() |

Hey guys, I won't have power tomorrow, so I won't be able to post. Bot me if necessary. Thanks.

![]() |

The only difficulty for me is sometimes I can't post for most of a day, and then in the evening it feels like I've missed out. My apologies. If you're waiting on my character to do something, feel free to roll on my behalf.

GM Nowruz |

No apology needed Quezaltzin! I completely understand!
To be honest I am also moving a little faster than I usually would as I had the feeling that you would want to see some speed.
Should I slow down a little? That does not mean less posts from my side but give you more interaction points, e.g. I could have let you 'really' talk to Heryn after you came up from the cellar or I could have 'really' let you say final words to the Asmodeus priest before continuing to the mausoleum.
Your choice really as I want you to have fun! ;-)

![]() |

Just a heads up, I'll be at a con this afternoon and all day tomorrow, so I am unlikely to be able to post.
Some botting instructions:
Generally attack with my longsword. If foe is formidable, I'd cast shield (using spell combat if possible) and then either chill touch or touch of gracelessness as seems prudent.

![]() |

Right, I forgot. She'll keep the move action.

GM Nowruz |

I believe that green is still flat footed, because they have not yet taken an action during a normal round, so Sandi is able to move around without an AoO and also gets sneak attack damage.
Sandi moves around the nearest enemy and then swipes with her rapier.
[dice=attack]1d20+5 urk, that might hit, because flat footed
[dice=damage, sneak attack]1d4+1d6
Hi Sandi, to my knowledge a character is not flat-footed as soon as he/she has acted. That includes a surprise round. But I will check RAW asap but not before Monday. :-(
Have a great weekend! :-)

pg 178 of core rulebook: chance to act (specifically, before your first regular turn in the initiative order), you are flat-footed.
surprise round is not a 'regular turn.'
edit: I realize this is not completely clear, and if you disagree with that interpretation of 'regular turn' then I will certainly yield to your interpretation as GM. The grey area is why I even brought it up the way I did, rather than assuming it was true.
second edit:
another quote from the same page:
The Surprise Round: If some but not all of the combatants are aware of their opponents, a surprise round happens before regular rounds begin.

GM Nowruz |

Thanks a lot for looking this up. I know that it could be interpreted either way!!
Please look at this special ability for a moment:
————
Surprise Attack (Ex)
Benefit: During the surprise round, opponents are always considered flat-footed to a rogue with this ability, even if they have already acted.
—————
I found this rouge ability which for me makes clear that a character is not flat-footed after his/her turn in the surprise round as this ability would otherwise have no reason to exist. Thus, I would rule that you are not flat-footed after having acted on your first turn in a surprise round or regular round.
I hope that is ok for you all.
Again, have great weekend!! ;-)

Hello, I really started thinking about the ruling above and as this fight can be very deadly I do not want to rule to early. The text that you see below is what I found with just one search. I know that you all are GMs and surely much more experienced than I am. Therefore, please look at the below and then just vote because I do not want to be too harsh on this topic.
Item 1:
prd - Initiative wrote:
Flat-Footed: At the start of a battle, before you have had a chance to act (specifically, before your first regular turn in the initiative order), you are flat-footed.Note: turn, not round. The turn is when your character act, if you find a piece of text that define regular turn as part of a regular round, please show it.
Piece of text that speak of regular round have a limited pertinenncy.Item 2:
prd - Surprise wrote:Unaware Combatants: Combatants who are unaware at the start of battle don't get to act in the surprise round. Unaware combatants are flat-footed because they have not acted yet, so they lose any Dexterity bonus to AC.We have a rule that say that unaware combatant are flat footed. We can suppose that aware combatant aren't flat footed.
Combine it with a rule (item 1) that say that you are flat footed until your first regular turn. As "regular turn" is undefined we can reasonably suppose that it mean "the first turn in which you act without using special abilities".
So the first turn in which you act without using combat reflex or other ability beyond the result of your initiative check.
I know that this does slow down the game a bit but I just want to be sure that we all are on the same page.

![]() |

Well, since you asked for my opinion....
You're flat footed until you act. After you act (in any kind of round) you're no longer flat footed.

![]() |

Agree with Kenza here. Once you act, regardless of what type of round, you are no longer flat-footed. Just my opinion though.

![]() |

Yep, it makes sense to me after seeing that rogue talent, granted I have seen some abilities that really make me think the writer didn't look at the rules (brutal pugilist, totem warrior). Weird wording on "normal round/turn" though

![]() |

Thanks GM! These evergreens are short aren't they? lol

![]() |

Good game all and had a lot of fun. Thanks GM for the game.
This will make me 1 level away from getting my sentient Black Blade.

Thanks everyone for a fun run, especially to GM Nowruz. Too bad the PFS folks weren't able to keep up with updating the info found at the end of the scenario each season.
