Larry, you should pay attention to your wife and Ireland. PbP should be last on the list!
Ptehp |
Hello all!
Tomorrow morning I'm off to Austria. Will be working a few days outside Vienna, and then moving to Vienna for a couple nights.
Should have Internet all the time, and be able to post twice a day, but, since I'm travelling for a week you never know what might wrong: in case I disappear that'd be the explanation.

Rode out the storm in Galway. Nice Anniversary break.
In Belfast today. Will post in gameplay tomorrow evening local time, i.e., about 20 hours from now.

It looks like if Yellow's out, the rest of the turn order (Ptehp, Honey and Tera and Zavubak) may act as well, or am I wrong?
Myrd Sharpclaw |
Sorry for lack of posting, I had no opportunity to post yesterday and am suffering from a headache today. I will be back asap.
Gweld the White Owl |
I have rolled a critical threat and am unsure if the concealment negated the hit at the same time. So I guess if he's a fetchling, I missed, so I won't roll the confirmation yet.
GM Lorenzo |
We have two votes for 3) Disable or destroy the Wightir Conjunction now. We have one vote for 2) Try to get the slaves out of the museum now, then 3).
I know I said I'd follow the "Rule of 2," but because the decision could have consequences for the rewards the party earns, I want to give Gweld and Zavubak the opportunity to express their preferences.

Running a small local con at the Jet City Comic show Saturday and Sunday, so my posts over the weekend will likely be short and sweet, lacking my usual excessive verbosity.
GM Lorenzo |
I've tried to provide hints within the story to nudge you toward success.
You are all doing a great job focusing on the mission and doing what makes sense in-character.
I am by no means a completist, but I also know how frustrated I get when my PC has missed an opportunity to acquire all the possible rewards.
And so I'll be blunt: If you're in a hurry to complete the scenario, go straight to work on disabling or destroying the device. If your coffers need filling, who knows what lies beyond the yet-unopened chambers... ?
Gweld the White Owl |
Well, going for the fetchling who's worse than Uthil Mak is in character for Gweld.
Myrd Sharpclaw |
Thank you GM, I don’t mind missing part of the loot, but I am also not in a hurry to complete the scenario.
GM Lorenzo |
Disable or destroy the device now, collect xp, collect PP, lose gold rewards.
Face Mazzel Gol, risk life and limb for more gold and glory, then complete the mission before dawn.
I don't want to railroad or dictate to the party. Looks like Zavubak, Myrd, and Gweld are ready to find Mazzel Gol and deal with her, then take out the device.
We'll go with the majority.
Please, no hard feelings.
Ptehp |
No problem at all.
Ptehp would just have gone for completing the mission: girls safe, destroy the artefact and be done, rather than risk possible failure by going on a side mission.
But that's just RP.
As a player, either choices are fine with me.
Myrd Sharpclaw |
While Zavubak puffs away on another coffin nail, Myrd again considers the nature of the Wightir Conjunction. Ptehp might be right. If only someone in the party could pursue the fetchling into the Plane of Shadow after the device were destroyed, which would quite possibly end the connection between the two planes. And knew where the fetchling might go. And could bring the party with him. And could get everyone back to the Material Plane...
;-)
I am not seeing the clue here: we do have the prisoner fetchling, is the GM referring to him?
GM Lorenzo |
Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to clear it up.
You did encounter three mercenary fetchlings guarding the slaves. You killed one, stabilized the second, and interrogated the third before knocking him out. During questioning, he revealed his name and the names of his sibllings. None was Mazzel Gol, and none was a "bomb-thrower."
If Mazzel Gol is still in the museum, she's probably in an area you haven't yet searched.
If the Wightir Conjunction is disabled or destroyed, it severs the connection between the Material Plane and the Plane of Shadow. The duality of existence within the museum will end, and creatures and objects return to their separate planes of origin.
I was trying to reveal all this in-game and avoid the OOC explanations. I feel bad that I couldn't convey that more clearly through the action and dialogue. Always room to improve my technique, right?
Myrd Sharpclaw |
Sorry Larry, this was all clear. I thought you meant that there was a way for us to have our cake and eat it. So destroy the stones first and then find the last fetchling
GM Lorenzo |
If you destroy the device first, the fetchlings and the stuff from the Shadow Plane will be gone.
If you want to finish clearing the museum, you must do so before you shut down the device.

The info is correct.
If I want to go on a shopping spree after the scenario, do I need to post a list of stuff I'd like to be added to the chronicle?
Myrd Sharpclaw |
Info is correct
GM Lorenzo |
I will leave the annotation of purchases to you.
The only expenditures I, as GM, place on a chronicle sheet are purchases and gold spent during play.
Ptehp |
Oops, I see I did not update my CLW charges used (rolled 2, then 1, forgot to put 3).
Right now I am at 6 used (but I am tracking them and ticking them off).

I think we just entered the room two times in a row. On the map, was Zavubak supposed to be all the way out in the room? Because move description was limited by him "following" first Gweld, than Ptehp. How 'd Gweld ended up getting back out of the office? To me it was pretty obvious by the moves that he first entered, and than hesitated, waiting for the light source to catch up and at least enter the office as well.
GM Lorenzo |
Gweld, you said you were waiting for Myrd's light. Myrd hasn't moved. If you want to enter the room, anyway, please do place your icon wherever you'd like.
If Zavubak or Ptehp object to where I've placed them, (which enables me to convey more details about the room and its contents through the eyes of PCs that can see in the dark) either of them can let me know.
There have been a couple of instances where the party has modified the standard order of march they'd agreed to at the outset. I'm flexible.

Thank you for a successful session. I'll post a link to your Chronicle sheets by the end of the weekend. Everyone but Zavubak earned 1860gp and 2PP for the mission. Zavubak earned out-of-tier 1184gp and 2PP.
(There's a flood of PbP Gameday VI reporting coming in, and I need to submit those to Paizo and get everyone their GM and player boons.)
If you'd like to provide me some constructive feedback on the session, please PM me. I'm not thin-skinned or argumentative, and I appreciate anything you have to offer that will help me improve.
I sincerely hope you all enjoyed the game.

Hi Larry,
Can you change my chronicle to slow advancement? It seems you missed that from this post
Thanks!
