How many magic mouths does it take to win the game?

As the green skeleton approaches, Medghar pulls the trigger.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 21

And watches with glee as the bullet connects.

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Oops, forgot the damage portion.

That was your readied action. Unsure if that resets your position in initiative or not. Might be your turn again.

Yes, medghar has another action for round 2 before asar and the skeletons begin round 3.

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

burning hands: 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (3) + (3) + (2) = 8

"And for my follow up gift, have a taste of some delicious fire... prepared fresh this morning, guaranteed to lighten your mood..."

Medghar quips merrily as he unleashes his remaining use of burning hands from the still smoking barrel of his gun. <How obliging of them all to line up like that...>

Medghar's first shot drops one of the ancient and crumbling skeletons right away, the followup fire...

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

...vaporizes the remaining skeleton, leaving only Asar and a skeleton near Hemiantus.

Will still has an action before enemies, as well

William draws his crossbow and readies a shot move to draw, standard to load

Asar slowly approaches Og for the final showdown of titans, his pearly whites a mad grin on old necrotic bones. What cruel energies fill the role of muscle in his form is unclear as his blade swipes forth at unnatural speed...

Power Attack, Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

...Og raises his falchion in defense in time, but it isn't enough...the blade works its way through to his flesh...

dmg: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

At the same time the skeleton harassing Hemiantus awkwardly thrusts his old rusty blade...

Red: 1d20 ⇒ 4

...utterly harmless.

Og staggers at the wicked cut and slashes back at the thing. Need healing here. he calls.

Falchion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 222d4 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 + 1 = 10

Og, your falchion has great difficulty getting through the enchanted bones. Your damage seems to be roughly halved of what it should have been.

29/39 hp, AC 20/12/18. All but Og up for this new round.

Male Half-elven Wizard (spirit binder) 2 HP 15/15, AC 15/11/14, Init +6, Fort +3, Ref +2, Will +3, Perc +12; Effects: Mage armor, heightened awareness

Hemiantus tries another approach, dropping his elven curved blade and hefting his club with two hands. club attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14,damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

The regular skeletons are AC 16/12/14 so unfortunately that is also a miss. Erald, Medghar, and Will up

William takes the opportunity to try and control the living dead... In hope of ending the fight now. Obey! my dc is... 11...

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Medghar reloads his weapon and repositions himself closer to the flame.

"Hm... such a pretty flame... I wonder just what will happen when I get to it..." He winks at the undead form of Asar.

Red vs Channel: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Will, you feel the dark energies keeping the skeleton upright resist your arcane formulations.

Medghar, even without detect magic, given your experience with fire you are certain that it is not identical to any you have seen or read about.

Erald casts grease, attempting to take the quarry down. A sudden dark pitch rolls forth from some extra-dimensional vortex, plopping down with a fantastic squish...

Asar, Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

...and the rolling grease causes Asar to go off balance, sending the mailed skeleton down hard.

Asar stands provoking an attack from Og.

Og AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Red again stabs out at Hemiantus...

Red Sword: 1d20 ⇒ 10

All PCs up

Oops, forgot Asar's attack

Furious after being humbled by Erald, Asar swipes upwards at Og with tremendous momentum...

PA, Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
dmg: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

...and clips him on the jaw, knocking him out cold.

Yikes, Og down at -7?

Male Half Orc Half Orc Wizard HP 19/19, AC 13-16/12/11-14, Init +2, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +3, Falchion +6 (2d4+6/18-20)| 6/day—telekinetic fist +3 Touch for 1d4+1, Perception +5

Not surprised. The tank asked for some healing and no one responded. In hand sight Og should have started the fight with an infernal healing running. Need a 15 on the die to stabilize

Stabilize, DC 10: 1d20 + 2 - 7 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 7 = 9

Had you let me roll my own AOO that would have been a 20 to hit and you would have rolled a 4 against me and missed... I really do prefer to roll my own attacks.

Ok, sorry. Someone earlier in the game had private messaged me and insisted I roll the AoOs.

Male Half Orc Half Orc Wizard HP 19/19, AC 13-16/12/11-14, Init +2, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +3, Falchion +6 (2d4+6/18-20)| 6/day—telekinetic fist +3 Touch for 1d4+1, Perception +5

That was not me. I saw your post where you rolled my AOO within 5 minutes of your post. You might as well just roll all the attacks if you are going to roll my AOOs. Heck, play my character completely. I see no real difference. It is one thing if someone is holding up the game but we all had committed to multiple posts per day so it should not ever be a problem. But now Og is down and bleeding out so I will be quite for the rest of this mod unless somehow someone gets me up. It is aggravating that I try to do the right thing and tank because someone has to and no one will heal me and it ends up this way.

Sounds like you want to roll the AoO and I will reroll Asar's attack? Go for it, totally fine with me.

Male Half Orc Half Orc Wizard HP 19/19, AC 13-16/12/11-14, Init +2, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +3, Falchion +6 (2d4+6/18-20)| 6/day—telekinetic fist +3 Touch for 1d4+1, Perception +5

Mostly I just wanted to be heard. The dice have rolled. Let's see if wizards can still win this. Og is out unless someone heals him.

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Medghar can't heal, never got the spell... William couldn't either... can't tell if Hem could or not, doesn't seem to have a prepped spell list and can't remember if he had one readied (though to be fair he *is* in combat with the other skelly in close range), and Erald is being GMed... the grease in theory could have aided you, so not sure if that decision tree would have been any different if done by the real Erald or not.

Sure Og? I truly do not mind and can totally see why it would be upsetting. I'm still new to GMing pbp and this is certainly something that would not come up in face to face games.

Male Half-elven Wizard (spirit binder) 2 HP 15/15, AC 15/11/14, Init +6, Fort +3, Ref +2, Will +3, Perc +12; Effects: Mage armor, heightened awareness

I don't have one prepped, sorry, and was dealing with the skeleton in front of me.

Seeing Og fall, Hemiantus quickly steps over to him (5'-step) to staunch his wounds with a strip of his clothing but can't seem to stop the bleeding. Heal DC 15: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Just looked over Erald's prepped spells, didn't have the healing prepped either. So the only person capable of magically healing you was, ironically, you. Sorry, with any luck we will be able to drag you to the fountain. Trust me, know the feeling, my character in Erald's game (which seems to be on hold for the moment) has been out cold for a while. Going to write my actions, but if you do change your mind on doing the AoO roll I might change them.

Medghar, feeling the intense magic of the flame they have been sent to retrieve, abandons caution and rushes for it. Double move to get to the flame.

Male Half Orc Half Orc Wizard HP 19/19, AC 13-16/12/11-14, Init +2, Fort +4, Ref +4, Will +3, Falchion +6 (2d4+6/18-20)| 6/day—telekinetic fist +3 Touch for 1d4+1, Perception +5

Og has scrolls of infernal healing. Others likely did too. As most of us has Scribe Scroll as a class feature. Plus we have found potions I believe.

William, seeing that his channel was useless, moves to Og, wake you fool he then used his ring to cast infernal healing on the orc. I have it in my spellbook :) move to get close and casts it when near.

Erald plucks a sharpened spear of bamboo from nothing and hurls it at Asar...

Splintered Spear, PBS: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

...but it rebounds off the grease and takes a wild spinning trajectory before exploding into splinters and dematerializing.

Asar says nothing as he calmly steps forward to down the next hero...

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 vs dc 10
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

...but again clumsily slips on the grease and hits the ground hard! He spends the rest of his actions standing up in the slippery buttery goodness.

The other skeleton chases Hem as he tries to save Og...

Skelly Chop: 1d20 ⇒ 10

PCs up again, Og has stabilized and is regenerating slowly thanks to William and his devilry

Medghar, in the opened coffin before the Everflame you notice some spectacular arms and armor. An entire suit of full plate, obviously heavily enchanted rests on what is presumably Kassen's body. In his hands is grasped a magnificent longsword that appears to be on fire...Finally, around his neck are broken links of what was once perhaps an ornate medallion.

Male Half-elven Wizard (spirit binder) 2 HP 15/15, AC 15/11/14, Init +6, Fort +3, Ref +2, Will +3, Perc +12; Effects: Mage armor, heightened awareness

Hemiantus, with few options, goes back to clubbing the skeleton next to him as his rat chirps its advice. <<Down, you minion of evil!>> Clubbing: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 22,Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The skeleton crumbles into dust from the attack, leaving only Asar.

Need actions for Will, Medghar, and of course Erald

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Medghar takes a quick look at the medallion's wreckage, but quickly turns back to face Asar. <For once I would love to see burning weapons in my own size.>

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Knowledge: Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Moving up, he quickly channels the energies prepared for his final spell of the day into his weapon, the weapon's barrel seeming to catch fire itself. "Kassen, I give me a bit of luck here, will you?"

Moving 20 feet as my move action, sacrificing Flare Burst to apply Flaming Burst to the weapon as a swift action, and attacking with the gun as a standard... hope I get lucky on the roll.

Ranged: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24

... so this guy was just a hero, right? Not a minor deity?

Damgage: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 1) = 10 Regular Bludgeoning + Flaming Burst: 1d6 + 3d10 ⇒ (6) + (3, 3, 1) = 13 Fire Damage for a total of 23 damage. Praise Kassen?

Not a minor deity, no. A hero, a respected ruler.

A decisive burst screams from Medghar's firearm, blasting Asars mail nearly asunder. It seems unlikely the old creaky bones could ever recover from such a blast...

6/39 hp!

Erald casts magic mouth on Asar's longsword, which has a dragon mouth motif as a pommel. "Not looking so good for you now, is it old bones?"

Didn't want to accidentally score the final blow...forgive me.

Asar tries to step out of the grease again, to retaliate against the spellslinger...

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

..and finally clears the area of the spell. With the sword laughing at him all along, he takes a hard swing full of hatred at the small gnome...

PA, Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
dmg: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Will and Hem still standing, 6 hp left on BBEG. What do you do?

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Stability?: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 2 = 8 Heh, so if I am reading this right I was at -2 and now I bleed to -3.

Right, and your stability roll and additional hp decrease came after Asar's action above, not the initiative count you hit the ground. Make others after Asar from now on as well, unless another PC changes things.

Sorry just noticed I misspoke above, the -3 will be after Asar's next action. You get a free round before bleed starts in other words.

Male Gnome Wizard (Spellslinger) 2 | AC 12 T 12 FF 11 | HP -4/11 | F +1 R +1 W +4 | Init +1 | Perc +3

Fair enough.... totally worth it, btw.

Yes, that was an amazing shot, you could've downed him if those 1's were higher :) Spellslinger is definitely on my bucket list

William realizes that out of all his allies left standing he has the best chance to escape... but also he was the easiest target. He forgoes his crossbow and begins casting a spell (touch of combustion), with a growl and a defiant look on his face, will charges forword, his hand filling with the energy of fire. will is risking the aoo to see if he can and it all!
