Sazzat Tamm |

"Well that proclamation is pretty dark."
"I get what the mayor is intending, but at some point we need answers. It'll be easier to get answers from living prisoners than dead bodies."

Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |

"Well some what." Zeldana said with a sigh. "Also that is assuming we don't find him with the one who started all this..." that seemed like a long shot but maybe fate will throw them a bone. "Let's clear the Mayor's name and then get to sleep. We have to be ready to move early after all."

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Yeda frowns, thinks, looking down at her feet. Do you think... should we follow Ameiko just in case she is actually able to find her brother?
She looks up at the others for a reaction, very unsure of the idea herself.

Loxley Geralt |

Loxley bites her lower lip as she watches Ameiko. When she finishes reading Loxley raises her hand but hesitates. She can see a tremendous amount of emotion play across Ameiko's face but can't quite find the right words at the moment. She wished she had Zeldana's familiarity with the innkeeper, though not her bluntness.
I han't realized her Wisdom was worse then my Str. :p
"Loxley grab the paper please."
Loxley looks away, carefully retrieving the decree, rolling it up and tucking it into her belt pouch as she follows the others. Ameiko's request to be alone was understandable, but still, she didn't like leaving her to brood. This wasn't the woman that had greeted her to the inn with cheer in spite of the recent adversities.
Do you think... should we follow Ameiko just in case she is actually able to find her brother?
"I wouldn't want to leave her out looking alone. I don't know about everyone else, but I will be here in the morning to accompany her." She pauses at the door and looks back at Ameiko. "It's hard when you become the last of your family." She says almost under her breath.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Very well, we accompany her in the morning then. Perhaps her search will exhaust several options and take her towards the goblins' warrens anyway. They must know something... Yeda muses.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

just to speed this part along...everyone can make Diplomacy checks, DC 15, to help find townsfolk who saw the mayor walking the path from the town hall to her manor during the late evening hours. Getting a DC 15 means you spend 4 hours going door to door, looking for people. A DC 20 brings it down to just under an hour.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

[dice=Diplomacy]1d20+17
What does a 30 get me? XD
for a moment, i had this thought. what if someone rolls high. but i discarded the idea...silly me. Zeldana....first house, first knock, a man answers the door and is able to tell you everything you need to know....ugggg. but it makes it easier for us.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

That was trying to find somebody who'd seen the mayor out to clear her name, right?

Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |

Yep, now we just have to go and report back. Also to be fair GM, Zel gets a +17 because she kinda mainlined Diplomacy. Using the skill focus feat she gets and a trait for it which let's her add her INT instead of CHA to it. So... Yeah she got all the diplomacy.
Zeldana couldn't help but thank the gods that they found someone so soon. "Let's go tell Jorn that we found a witness." She said with a small smile. "Thank the gods for small wonders."

RIZZENMAGNUS |

You hurry back to the local town garrison, and inform Jorn that you found a witness placing the Lord Mayor on a side road during the time when it was presumed that the Mayor attacked the garrison.
Praise the Gods! that is good news. I had hoped for her innocence but i dare not believe that she would have done deed. Yet i couldnt show favoratism towards the Mayor during the investigation. I shall go and inform the Lord Mayor myself, and offer my apologies! Thanks again Zeldana!
Jorn, a broad smile upon his face, steps up, wraps zeldana in his arms, and gives her a simple yet pure kiss upon the lips. Emotions of joy, happiness, and relief easily transfer through from Jorn to Zeldana. He holds her for a moment, and then releases her.
Giving a nod to everyone, he turns and heads down the road, to release the mayor.
ok, now would be a good time to do any shopping and bartering you may need to accomplish before the next stage of the adventure. I know the big thing to purchase is a new blanket for Sazzat, as he had grown very attached to his wubby.

Sazzat Tamm |

After returning to the Inn, Tamm spreads out the assorted knicknacks we've found on a table and does his best to determine the properties of the unknown items.
Spellcraft(Goblin's small Longsword): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Spellcraft(Tsuto's Ring): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Spellcraft(Iron Wand): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |

Zeldana of course returned the hug Jorn gave her. It was a relief to know the Mayor was in the clear. The kiss on the other hand turned the half-elf's face a bright pink. She placed her hand over her lips in surprise however didn't push Jorn away. It wasn't how she expected her first kiss but then again it wasn't something she thought of often. When he let her go to leave the group and tell the Mayor, Zeldana could only wave and give a soft smile. The poor girl was still speechless from the surprise.
After a moment she gathered herself and looked to her friends. "Looks like we have the rest of the day for ourselves. I'm surprised that he only thanked me as everyone helped but, uha... Yeah." Zeldana giggled a bit, her blush still blatantly obvious on her cheeks.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Yeda nods along and smiles as Jorn recognizes the mayors innocence. The relief washing over the group is palpable. One less hairy problem on our growing list...
Then he pulls Zeldana in for the abrupt embrace and Yeda's jaw hits the floor.
She stares, astonished for several seconds after Jorn has walked away like nothing happened, and blurts out What, was that?! Is that a customary exchange with the authorities in these lands? I thought I'd been away from the Axe Clan long enough to see everything...
She thinks on it a bit longer.
Oooooooh! Did Jorn just expose you as a tiefling or a jinn?! You're actually all red under the makeup?
She can't hold it any longer and lets a laugh sputter through her pursed lips.
Okay okay, I'm not that naive.

Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |

Zeldana playfully slapped Yeda's arm as she turned a brighter shade of pink. "Don't be mean!" She said teasingly. "I've never done anything like this before. Running the shop and reading fortunes didn't leave much time for a... Well any romantic life." She said in her defence.
"Jorn... Well he isn't a bad choice. He's a good man... I don't know maybe we might hit it off. I do owe him that date I promised after all." Zeldana said as she played with a bit of her hair thinking.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Yeah, I know a great place with underground seating! But the demon-waiters never pop out of the portal when you need a water refill! Bah hahahaha!
Yeda can't help herself.
Okay, I've gone too far. I'm done now... I think.
She really considers that last part at length.
Yeah, done. So, what do we have to do before turning in for the evening? Sell all of this equipment we found in the passages below? I could use a good stop-off at a blacksmith. We'll likely want to be up early to join with Ameiko.

Corrin Whisperwind |

He blinked as the lawman took the half elf into his arms and planted a kiss on her. He blushed almost as much as Zeldana seemed to. Humans clearly had different customs than his people did. He frowned a moment as those dark thoughts crossed his mind though it held for but a moment. Tilting his head he quietly listened to Zeldana's logic nodding along.
He did wonder if he tried that on Shalelu she would give him short thrift to be sure. Thinking of Shalelu kept his blush going but it brought to mind a good point. She might have an idea on where the goblins that had raided Sandpoint would live, there were good odds that is where their prey had went to ground at.

Loxley Geralt |

Loxley is both shocked and relieved when they find a witness so quickly. She can't help but smile in relief as they returned to the garrison and Zeldana told Jorn their findings. The arcanist politely averts her gaze when the guardsman surprises the witch with a rather intimate gesture.
Returning to the inn afterwards for a strong drink and hot meal, Loxley watched Sazzat examine the trinkets they had recovered. Nodding as he keenly identified the items, trying not to laugh at Yeda's teasings.
"Can I see the book?" She asked motioning to the book of Abyssal scribblings. "There might still be something useful in it."

Sazzat Tamm |

"Some of these things could be useful if we're going after Tsuto." Tamm says as he looks over the haul.
"A lot of it won't be." he gestures at the magic sword sized for a goblin.
"I think we should convert the rest of this into gold and see if we can equip ourselves a little bit better."
"I wonder if that priest has a wand of healing he would sell us?"

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Yeda considers the prospect and add, or... "lend" to us after the help we've provided so far. I don't mean to presume entitlement, but anything we can get to aid us against the dangers.
She scans over the lot on the table, slipping the enchanted ring onto her finger.
So, let's see what we can get for it!
She begins to scoop up what she can reasonably carry.

Loxley Geralt |

Loxley opened the book of Abyssal scribbling, her brow furrowing as she flips though a few pages. "Hmm..This is going to take a while to get through." She comments off offhandedly as she flips back to start at the begining.
As the others talk about dividing up the 'treasures' and selling what's left Loxley waves absentmindedly, not looking up from the book she become absorbed in already. "Okay, have fun." Her hand reaching around in search of her drink blindly for a minute.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

did some research. best bet, to start, for unloading your well earned merchandise would either be #26, the general store, or #12, Savah's armory. Although, Zeldana's parents have a store...they may give a bit more since it's their daughter they are dealing with....

Sazzat Tamm |

"I'd say we should try to sell the weapons at the armory, and the rest at the general store." Tamm suggests.
"Maybe the armory has weapons we could use, a trade could be easier than a sale."

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Yeda nods at the idea of a trade. Yeah, I like that. I wonder if they would have masterwork items available on demand...

RIZZENMAGNUS |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

ok. let's start at the armory #12 on the map...
A short walk through town leads you to a stout standing building, with a distinct scar upon the northeast corner. Stone walls; a blend of stone walls upon the first floor, and wooden upper structure lends a sturdiness that is hard to find in this small community. A lone window, a display window, showcases a suit of chainmail armor and a matched pair of swords, a bastard sword and short sword, on display for customers to look at. A carved sign showing "open" rests in the lower right corner of the display.
You walk into the building, and the smells of leather, oil, iron, and wood, assault the nose in a cacophony of scents that fill the air. Your eyes adjust from the noon time sun to the darker room.
Inside you see standing suits of armor, from brigadine to chain suits, wood and steel shields, bucklers, and swords! dozens of swords. short and long, scimitars, fullblades, a couple of greatswords, daggers, dirks, stilettos. oh my god! i put some unknown hot sauce on some left over food for lunch....my mouth is on fire! like wow! i havent felt this kind of burn in a long, long time. i regret nothing though! holy moly Spears, halberds, clubs, maces, axes, arrows, bows, everything and more that wandering hero, (or more likely a local resident seeking safety and security with a personal sidearm) could want.
Yet, there is something that draws your eye towards the front desk. appearing to hang in midair floats a unique crossbow. at first glance it looks too boxy to be a crossbow, but the unmistakable limbs indicate it to be indeed a crossbow.
The pile of clothes move, resolving into the shape of a human, a female human, shifts in her seat. Greetings. Welcome to Savah's armory. I am Savah, owner of this place. If youre looking for arms, armor, then youve come to the right place.

Sazzat Tamm |

"Hello and good to meet you Savah!" Tamm says politely.
"My name is Sazzat Tamm and these are my companions." he continues gesturing to the rest of the party.
"We have just finished a bit of exploring in some catacombs located under the old glassworks and we've come into a few items that we are looking to either sell or trade."
"We're hoping that you might be the man to help us with that."

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Yeda strolls up confidently to help Tamm recover from the gaff.
Surely this Savah will appreciate a fellow woman-warrior!
Greetings there, good woman. I am Yeda, and I discipline Tamm here when he makes such mistakes!
She gives Savah a lighthearted wink before continuing.
What is your most finely crafted masterworked, even greatsword?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Throwing a long glare at Sazzat, Savah replies surprisingly good for business. Had some folks in earlier that wanted to get a couple morw daggers to keep on them, and some farming folks outside of town wanted to resupply their arrow stock. Word is that the goblins have increased their attacks on random farms. Hopefully the Mayor will get word to magnimar to send for some troops to adress the goblin menace
Turning from Sazzat, Savah looks at Yeda and nods. sure. Back row to the left.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

If that was confirm... Yeda strolls back to the indicated section and hefts several masterworked greatswords in her hands, testing them for balance. She then takes several steps back from anything else and gives a test wind-up, to simulate the wide arc the blade usually takes.
When she finds the one she likes she returns to the counter to haggle over the inventory they've brought, and see if a trade can be made.
My good lady, this fine masterwork ranseur for this greatsword? Basically a trade of masterworks.

Corrin Whisperwind |

He watched the interplay between the shopkeeper and the local folk with some small amount of amusement. He didnt open his mouth until there was a pause, and after she mentioned troops going after goblins.
"Tommorrow our group intends to start doing something more proactive against the goblin menace. Think of how much more business you will do when the townfolk learn we procured our weapons from your fine shop."
diplomancy for the best possible prices: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
He wandered back looking for spears, arrows and anything super neat... outside of the weird boxy crossbow that he truly doesnt understand.
Holy Geeze!

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Savah takes the Ranseur from Yeda and inspects it, her eye critical of its quality. She hefts it, and thrusts forward with the ease that only a trained warrior can accomplish. Balance is proper, point is centered and sharpened. Yes. id say this works as an even trade. This ranseur for Mar'du. Savah nods, taking possession of the ranseur.
She passes by corrin to hang the ranseur upon the sales rack along the side wall, and pauses to listen to him. 'tis a fine point you make, natured one. I suppose, if youre successful in defeating the goblins, it would bring attention to my fine store for selling the weapons that killed the goblins. Alright, i'll make a deal with you. If you defeat the goblins, tell everyone that you come across about where you purchased your weapons, and survive, i will reimburse you 25% of the total you spend today. Deal? she asks, arching a questioning eyebrow at Corrin.

Zeldana Dardlara Amaria |

"That's a pretty fair deal for you who need weapons." Zeldana said to Corrine. "we'll just have to keep track of everything you buy." She added with a simple shrug of her shoulders. "Which I'll leave what is needed to you all, as my knowledge of weapons is... Little at best."

Yeda Wolfspirit |

What else did we want weapon/armor-wise? Anybody need to make more advantageous trades or just get to milking the loot for cash to get to the rest of our shopping list?
Yeda pulls out her more standard greatsword and prepares to sell that, now that she's traded for Mar'du.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

She nods politely at Savah. And the standard price for my old, trusty greatsword? She hefts it up onto the counter, followed by four javelins that she finds nearby in the store. And these please.
+25gp for greatsword sale, -4gp for javelins.
Corrin, last chance for the longsword+1? Otherwise we sell it here, and the rest of our buy/sells are elsewhere.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

well, it is a little banged up. Does it have a name? Savah asks Yeda.
looking at Corrin's post in the discussion board, it looks like you guys have about 900 to spend. the MW greatsword is exchanged for the MW ranseur, yeda's greatsword can easily cover the javelins. Did corrin want a couple more spears? otherwise we can just do a summary of the items you want to sell, what you want to buy, and we can do some quick exchanges.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Remember that the longsword is small sized, so any of us would take penalties for using it.
Ah, right :/
No, sorry it doesn't. I don't think it was crafted as lovingly as the one I traded you for. But, it'll do it's job in arming a strapping young farmer against a goblin raid.

Yeda Wolfspirit |

Back!
Yeda nods. I think that's fair enough. Thank you!
Transacted, moving on to whatever store plies our other goods and needs!
