Thozar Earthchanter |

Is there a map for this? Where would I be standing as the sounder?

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Belir continues to row below. Between the small ripples of waves on the river battering the boat and the chanting Belir is sure he hears something strange coming from the deck.
Grabbing his axe he begins to head up. "What now...."

GM Fuzzfoot |

The map is just the top deck of the ship. As sounder, you would be at the bow (front).
The drakes are not so much on the map, as they keep flying and dive bombing. So you probably need to do everything in terms of readied actions, unless you have good long range attacks.

Thozar Earthchanter |

Thozar heads up to the top deck as well. What will we be expected to save them from now? As he steps onto the chaotic deck, wood sizzling with acid, horses crying out in fear, he sighs. "Ulark, where are you? You still go that really big stick of yours?"
________
Double move to the top deck. Can anyone identify these things? Especially since we will be fighting giants, we should all probably start carrying around reach weapons just in case. They'd help against fliers too!

Torith Torson |

Torith yells out loudly from the crows nest to get the attention of all the other dwarves. "We got flying things up here! Get up on deck now!"
He focuses on flinging his rock as far as he can. When one of the creatures is safely within range he hurls the earthen matter.Use Extended Range to make Earth Blast 120ft range. Take 1 point of burn.
Earth Blast attack, elemental overflow: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 = 9
Earth Blast damage, elemental overflow: 2d6 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 + 2 = 14

GM Fuzzfoot |

@Torith - Where is the earth coming from? You are on a wooden boat on a river battling flying dragons. Can you pull it from the shore?
Is there a distance limitation?
@Kragmyr - Possibly, if they get that close and don't have a way to avoid the MOC.

Torith Torson |

There is no requirement for Kintecists to provide the element use. If they had to do that it would make fire very situational and electricity hurling kineticists likely would not work at all. The down side is that as it's an spell like ability so kinetic blasts are effected by spell resistance for if that ever comes up.

GM Fuzzfoot |

@Torith - Ah, cool - good to know. Thanks.
As you all prepare to hit the drakes flyign around, the larger one takes off with the horse he grabbed.
The other two circle in and dive. The blue drake (Beta) flies in, attacking Thozar, but taking a mudball to the face provided by Torith in the process.
Flyby Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
The green grake (Gamma) dives at Kragmyr (who gets his AoO), and snaps his maw, tearing dwarf flesh.

Thozar Earthchanter |

"Group together dwarves, we will take them down quicker as a unit when they dive bomb us!" he shouts, conjuring two sets of flames to sheathe his arms. I must remember to commune with the earth for better ranged attacks, or spells to better my allies!

Gundar Forgelight |

Round 2
Gundar cranks back the cord of his crossbow and drops another bolt in the slot, making a mental note to procure deadlier ammunition at some point.

Thozar Earthchanter |

If we group up though, you could always ready an action in addition to possible AoO's!

Ulark Twiceforged |

I didn't start out with a bow either; turned out dead orcs can sometimes come with useful things :)
Ulark continues to hustle ahead, finally reaching the stairs and acscending to see the source of the commotion. You overstuffed lizards! he yells at the drake holding the horse. I just nursed her back; you won't have a meal of her that easy!
Double move again, but finally on deck (and longaxe out in case of AoO)

![]() |

Belir's eyes go wide as he gets topside. The ship lurches and his legs buckle a moment but he makes it to the group and goes back to back with the dwarves. The stability seems to help him maintain his sealegs as he readies an attack. "INCOMING!" He yells as spittle flies into his beard.
Dwarven Waraxe: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

The alpha carries off the horse, and is too far to do much about now. The other two dive again. Balir and Kragmyr are the targets.
Everyone is going to get an AoO.

AoO, PA FF: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 for damage: 1d12 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 6 = 11
As he gets a cut of one of the attacking drakes, Ulark steps up and readies his axe for a second stab. Duck Belir! Better not see you fall three times in the same days!
Assuming they're still doing flyby attacks, Ulark will ready to strike if either swings around another time. If they're for some reason still within reach, just use the below as his attack right now.

Torith Torson |

Torith pushes out the angry inspirational voice of Kragmyr so he can focus on his earth shaping. He waits for one of the flyers to get within range and then fires off another rocky mass.
Earth Blast attack, elemental overflow, Point Blank: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 21 Assuming Point Blank Shot.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Between all of the attacks, both drakes fall into the river, too damaged to continue.
After the adrenaline wears off, Captain Bloodtusk says "We're going to need that horse..."

![]() |

"So we need to get to land?" Belir asks hopeful. "I'll go." He rushes to the cabin to put his armor back on.

Thozar Earthchanter |

Thozar follows Belir, gets his backpack, and stands on deck waiting for his brothers to join him. Of course, because Captain Tusker didn't have the gods damned foresight to put a roof on his stable we are expected to get him a horse. Wouldn't expect anything less at this point.

Torith Torson |

Torith again climbs down from the crows nest as he grumbles under his breath in Dwarven about "bloody beasts causing trouble".
He joins Thozar on deck as he waits for the armoured dwarves to get ready to leave the ship.
{Dwarven}"Another job for the dwarves to fix, i guess. How does this bloody boat get anywhere without some competent passengers like us being around to fix all the problems!"
It's clear that Torith isn't actually looking for any of his allies to answer and is just letting of steam.

Ulark Twiceforged |

Ulark looks at the captain blankly for a moment. Then gives a sigh and asks aloud.
...anyone see where that winged snake flew?

Kragmyr Grudgekeeper |

”Nay. We aren’t going. Nobody is. That drake flew off with the horse. It’s roost won’t be ground level, as then other predators would steal its food. It will kill the horse and eat it. By the time we catch up with it, the best we could do is bring back whatever is left of the horse. Nobody here is going to die for a dead horse.”

GM Fuzzfoot |

You can clearly see the alpha flying downstream toward a cave.
The pungent odor of fish entrails permeates the air near an open cave mouth. The beach outside the cave is littered with the remains of several marine animals, including the bleached skeleton of an immense crocodile. The area is eerily quiet and devoid of wildlife.

Gundar Forgelight |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

"Does seem a mite unlikely we'd find the beast still alive," Gundar mutters. Like the others, though, he buckles on his armor. Maybe they could just subdue the flying monster and strap its ass to the boat.

![]() |

"Is a horse even worth our lives?" Belir asks, as in truth he is actually just happy to be off the boat. He walks towards the caves mouth and looks up, giving a small whistle before going in.

GM Fuzzfoot |

I guess we are waiting on me. Gundar put on armor - but no other buffs?
Belir approaches the mouth of the cave, and he hears the whinneys of the horse. He can see it at the back of the cave, but sees nothing else.

GM Fuzzfoot |

As you rush into the cave, you hear the horse, but you also hear a loud roar from a back part of the cave.
The alpha drake comes out to prevent you from stealing his prize.

Thozar Earthchanter |

Still bothered by having been reduced to errand boys, Thozar begins running around the corner. Huffing and puffing, he inwardly rejoices when the drake they are after has exposed itself so eagerly. Least we don't have to trudge through its lair! I'd relish the chance to delve through a tunnel or two though.
________
Double Move. Freaking dwarf legs and freaking corners!

Torith Torson |

Torith runs round the corner following Belir. He doesn't run too close to the creature so the other have room to get in while he can support from distance.

Ulark Twiceforged |

Certainly trying! Ulark roars back at Belir as he advances. The cave widening into a chamber, Ulark looks at the drake and digs deep. His armor shines with light as the warrior expands and grows with it hoping his larger bulk will stop the predator from fleeing.
Move, then activate Uskroth's Armor

Torith Torson |

Torith wonders for a moment why the light from the cave entrance seems to be dimming. He turns around to see a giant sized Ulark right behind him.
"Way to make an entrance lad. Watch you don't bump your head on the ceiling up there!"

GM Fuzzfoot |

Kragmyr didn't apparently look at the map... I double moved him instead, and will use his attacks this round.
