Brother Grergof Varsk
I agree. I will give the few coins I have left to get her a marker.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Mr Spugnoir, can you cover my share. I will pay you back as soon as I can,all I have left is 9 copper pennies.
GM Foxy
Kaleb Thanks you again for your generosity but asks you if you could take care of buying the stone as they won't be there to check on the result. Everyone's leg gets a hug from Lettie and Poppy for offering to set up a memorial stone for their sister.
It's as high as they reach. They are too small for a normal hug
As you go to visit Judge Daramid you are already expected. The maid leads you into the same room as last time and asks you to take a seat. She then leaves you to get the Judge.
Darius Redgrave
Darius agrees and gives 5gp towards the tombstone. "That way in your travels you will always find her and remember her." he says.
Then once at the judge. Again, Darius is a little awkward but tries to cover it up. "Tea would be lovely, many thanks Mrs Daramid."
He then takes a seat himself and replies. "Hmm... I don't think we've really discussed it. But looks like we might be heading out of town. Perhaps even to track down Vorgstag. He must pay for his crimes."
Brother Grergof Varsk
Grergof take a seat and says:
We did what was right, but I fear how the city will react to your decision. The common folk are none to happy right now, particulary the folks at the university.
As for the Beast: He really just called us friends and said that we should come and visit him there.
What is this Schloss Caromarc place? I've not heard anything about it.
Judge Embreth Daramid __
"It's the residence of the retired count Caromarc. We're ruled by a council here in Vieland but that's rather new in historical perspective." Judge Daramid replies. "But please do pay a visit there. Even though the beast was innocent in the cases brought to court it is still a dangerous creature. And a creature made. Maybe you could unveil who is behind that. Who ever did this might also be able to contain the beast."
Darius Redgrave
Knowledge History: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
"Matbe a trip to this Count Caromarc is in order. We may find more answers there."
Stam Truthfinder
Stam will kneel down and hug the girls, using his magic to clean up their dresses and make them shine.
-------------
"Tea please yes"
Stam will wrack his brain to see if he knows anything about this place.
K. History: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
"I know a few things but nothing about the northern country, I agree that following the beast and seeing if we can find out more about it would be a good idea."
Once the Tea arrives Stam adds liberal amounts of sugar to it.
"remind me before we leave to visit a shop to buy some tea for the road."
Judge Embreth Daramid __
I'm done with my questions and suggestions. You can stay for a while and ask questions yourself if you might have some or simply enjoy the cookies. If you're done it's your turn to say goodbye as I have all the time of the world to sit over tea.
"Please bring some cookies too for my guests." Judge Daramid asks the maid. "And please pack some of this tea for Mr. Truthfinder."
Brother Grergof Varsk
If I may ask.... Do you have anything else you can tell us about the break-in at the university? We investigated but did not get any satisfactory clews.
There was clearly a man who was also at the location with the beast, but went out the window, and a Stature of a Fiend was taken, but other then that we found nothing.
The beast claims he blacked out and awoke there being captured....
Did you have access to any more information that the watch uncovered from that attack?
That crime still bothers me, as the beast clearly had some part in it.
Judge Embreth Daramid __
"It sounds as if you want to get the Beast out of that too. Once you're thoroughly done the Beast is no longer a case for the court but for the church for canonization." Judge Daramid jokes.
"You know already more than I do. The beast was never charged for that so I don't have any details of the crime. And I doubt anyone in Lepidstadt knows as much of this crime as you do. Because the Beast was caught red handed. There was no need for an extensive investigation."
Darius Redgrave
Darius sips at his tea and takes a bite of a cookie with a smile. Then turns to the judge. "Mrs Daramid, we originally came here by way of Harrowstone and encountered some rather... disturbing things there. One of which was mention of a cult or organization known as the Whispering Way. Have you heard of them by any chance?"
Darius Redgrave
"Indeed, it was something he mentioned and was concerned about. But, let me not bother you with that. I just thought I should ask." Darius says then sips his last bit of tea.
"But We have taken up more than enough of your time Judge. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and I for one hope to see you again soon." he says cupping her hand and smiling before picking up is stuff and looking to take the hint.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Thank you your Honor.
When the group is outside Grergof turns to the others.
Well our task here is done as is our responsibility to the Professor's memory. What do you all plan on doing?
I must say, while the idea of going home sounds tempting, the break-in at the university still bothers me. If someone can control the beast without it knowing, they would have a tool that could be used for great good or evil.
Given that they are using it to obtain demon statues, well that does not sound like they are using it for good reasons.
Stam Truthfinder
Stam will stand up and join the others.
"I agree about pursuing the beast and finding those who created it. It is a cleaver distraction for this area, who knows what else when on around here while we were busy."
Stam will accept his package of tea before going.
---------------------------------------
I want to summon the selling goblin.
Darius Redgrave
"Then we're all in agreement. But let's go to the needful things shoppe first. There's an item or two I wish to purchase." Darius finishes then heads off with whoever to the shop.
Once there he asks to look over the items that were shown to him before. After another few moments of contemplation he picks out the last item that was shown to him. The ordinary and worn looking bag and pays the 2000gp for it and thanks the man then while Spugnoir and the others shop he starts to pack all the extra stuff he's been carrying into it.
What type of bag is it?
Stam Truthfinder
"I have a spellbook that we acquired from an evil spell caster, I have learned the secrets from it and wish to sell it. Are you interested in buy?"
In some down time I made a scroll of Bulls Strength and Telekinetic Volley
Brother Grergof Varsk
The Splatterman, we never got his real name: I guess he was a notorious criminal around these parts, he used to spell out his victims name in blood over many nights untill he killed them. He died about 20 years ago.
Looking around Grergof says: In all this stuff you wouldn't happen to have an Ioun Torch would you?
Note: Grergof also pays Spugnoir 5 GP for the toumbstone.
Lini, owner of Everything Magic
You didn't get the name of Prof. Feramin?
"Whoa - a spellbook from a serial killer that was imprisoned at the Harrowstone? What do you want for that book?" the man asks amazed. He puts his hand in his pocket and pulls out a cracked ioun stone that sheds light as a torch and holds it out to Grergof. "That's 75 gold."
Please calculate the value by the spells contained.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Grergof happily pays the 75 gold and pockets the stone.
Brother Grergof Varsk
Since Stam isn't responding can we just settle at 575 and move on?
Stam Truthfinder
Sorry I was going to respond, I am trying to think of what Stam may need but I am coming up short right now since I feel that he is pretty good at this point. I wish Bracers of Armor were cheaper.
"Yes that will be fine, do you mind if I browse for a while?
Stam thoughtfully strokes his chin as he walks about.
Stam Truthfinder
I can burn a Reservoir point to add extended to mage armor cast by me to make it 12 hours.
"Thank you for your service my little friend."
Once they are back with the Kin,
"So we leave tonight for the North and finding the beast and his creator?"
Stam will start to get Ned ready for travel, setting up the cart to carry the heavy items.
"Anything anyone wants to store with Ned?"
GM Foxy
You pack up and travel north. You come past the burnt sanctuary of Dr. Brada. And past the crossing to Hergstag. You follow the road along the Lesser Moutray River through the Dipplemore Swamp. After a while through this bleak landscape the fens give way to a deep, rocky gorge at the northern edge of the swamp.
A peculiar building, or rather group of buildings, clings to steep cliff edges above half a dozen plummeting waterfalls. Beyond a fortified gatehouse, a stone bridge arches gracefully over the raging torrents below. Perched precariously beyond this is a fine, fortified manse and a ruined building that appears to have partially collapsed into the river below. A slender rope bridge, replacing the fallen remnants of a stone bridge, links to a strange tower pierced with beautiful stained glass windows depicting bizarre beasts. A further building teeters to the north of this, but how it is reached is impossible to see from here. Far above, a great tower rises from an isle of stone to the sky, ending in a great steeple topped with a huge lightning conductor.
A two-story stone gatehouse leads into the castle, topped with a crenellated tower at each corner. The main gate is closed.
