The obvious way to go is through the door. The ceiling of the room behind rises fifteen feet overhead, and several boxes and crates stacked along the south wall reach nearly the same height. A flight of stairs ascends from the northwest corner of this basement room. But to get there might be difficult, as four vampires stand guard in the room.

Darius stands idly, pondering what the most effective strategy would be with his spells left. Spugnoir hits with both his bombs, making the creature living on unholy energy turn even paler that death did already. Grergof flails with determination at a vampire, but it is too fast for him
Stam on the other hand turns the fight vs. the vampires in a spectacular way, rendering it much less threatening as three of the four vampires crumble to dust.

Spugnoir delivers a devastating explosion, leaving the vampire smoking and his clothes as rags. Darius adds to this, by washing the unholy energy that keeps the undead upright, out with holy energy.
The vampire retaliates with a slam, trying to drain the cleric of his life energy.
Grergof ends the threat with a swing of his fail, that reduces the vampire to a floating mist again.

The small room, reachable through an open passage is mainly for passing into the neighboring rooms. A few crates are stacked at the far wall. From the labels on them, it looks like they contain supplies for a tailoring shop. Cloth, braid, buttons, leather, and other things. Checking those reveals that they are empty. The neighboring rooms have more of the same. Some boxes full, some empty, but everything seems to be here for a while already.
