To be honest, this is the first time that using the online interface to play Pathfinder, but then again, there's a first time for everything!
So, without further ado, I'll cut right to the point!
****
WANTED: ALIVE, by the order of the town of Sandpoint:
Brave Adventurers from across the known world to participate in the [Rise of the Runelords] Adventure Path.
Experience with online campaigns appreciated, but not necessary.
Must have PCs willing to:
Be set on fire.
Consort with demons.
Risk loss of life, limb, sanity, bodily form and/or soul.
Spring all sorts of nasty traps.
Additional notes:
- PCs will be created using the Point System, with a High Fantasy Setting of 20 Points. Alignments are unrestricted except for ALL Evil alignments. But other than that, there are no restriction to classes or races as long as they exist within the Pathfinder continuity/product line.
- I'm still a professional student, which means that my time to be on the messageboards is limited, but I will dedicate hours of the week to GM the campaign. Expect brief/short times of temporary hiatus.
- I will be using the Anniversary Edition of RotRL.
****
That being said, I hope to adventure with you soon!
Tyeal
I would like to submit Mirai Zanzuket, a Sylvan Wildblood Sorcerer specializing in Illusions. As well as his traveling buddy, Big Z. A Roc he hatched himself.
Karl Sarvo
I know you said no evil characters, but honestly I couldn't resist trying my luck, all the information is in the profile. I can make plenty of assurances about how this character won't disrupt the campaign or party just because he's got an evil alignment, but that won't matter if you're pretty firm on your no evil characters rule, so if there is no hope of getting in this guy in the recruitment, please tell me so and I'll submit another character.
GM_Fenwick
So how many people are gonna be doing this? IRL, I've been able to manage a campaign of five, so I suppose that six PCs would be a stretch. Then again, I suppose I could bump up the CR of the monsters appropriately to compensate for the players.
So I need to get a final headcount of who's gonna do it and which Character they're bringing to the metaphysical internet table. I think that my GM-ing skills max out at Six PCs in a given adventure...
(I still don't know how to format my text, which I will work on, so I'll answer some concerns in a general fashion)
Varian Seldlon: Yes, you will be starting off with AVG starting GP.
N. Specter: No problem! By all means, go ahead!
Karl Sarvo: I may be willing to allow Lawful Evil characters, since Iconic Magus Seltyiel is one and he seems to get along fine with everyone. Hit me with another post if you want to talk about it further.
RyanH: To be honest, if you can "play dumb" about the plot and keep meta off of the table, then I'd be perfectly fine with it!
Jovalson
I'd like to propose Jovalson, a human cleric who has a "thing" for elven women. His background, stats, and a link to a clean google drive character sheet are in his profile.
As for getting an email alert, I don't know how to do that. What I use is a RSS Feeder, and just subscribe to the threads I want to keep track of. You might get a non-free RSS reader that also sends you an email alert.

Debating making a character for this one, since my last RotRL failed.
I can vouch for Karl's ability to play evil without disrupting the general flow of the game, and in our game together, it was an interesting back and forth between him and the "good" guys.
GM: Are you looking more for fluff, crunch, or both? I tend not to make aliases until the character has been accepted, which makes posting crunch a bit more difficult.
GM_Fenwick
Are you allowing drawbacks?
I still don't know how that aspect of character creation works, but if you could give me a moment to enlighten myself, I'm willing to allow that.

I'd like a healthy mix of both.
I accidentally built a Thassilonian cleric of Lissala for a different campaign that I don't think I want to join anymore. Some quick questions first:
1) This is a PbP, correct? If so ->
2) Is this a 1/day+ posting rate?
3) Two traits?I'll need to update my profile, but it shouldn't take long.
1) Yes.
2) Hopefully.3) Two traits = one Feat, so I'd advise caution when exchanging Feats for Traits.
Marckus
I don't know what the third answer means especially. I was asking if you are using the standard two starting traits character creation rule. If I wanted to trade a feat for a trait, I'd take Additional Traits and get two.
Ffordesoon
Ah, what the hell. I'm rusty, have never played by post, and don't know a soul here, but I've been itching to play some PF for a while now, and doing a play-by-post game sounds right up my street. If you don't mind me fumbling about in the beginning while I try to remember what to do and/or get used to play-by-post, Nante Once-Dead the Shoanti Ranger would be happy to travel to Sandpoint. :)
EDIT: Unless, of course, you're full up already. In which case, have fun storming the castle!
Viluki
preferred format for posting a character depends, you can create an alias or just post crunch and fluff in spoilers... Look at the how to format text button in your posting panel, if you are like me however you just post the fluff and don't bother with character creation until you meet gm approval (saves time for both player and gm).

Many could not believe that a tiefling runt could possibly take to sin magic so easily and readily when the best wizards of Cheliax and Varisia have been puzzling over it from years... Yet Sarvin the Greedy did, none have really pieced together the reality about sin magic that Sarvin has: the more sinful you are the better the magic. In particular the more Greedy you are the more powerful spells of Greed become to you, of course no one believed Sarvin... After all it must have been some trick or fancy deception, in truth none of the proud "pure blooded" human wizards of Korvosa's Academae wants to admit to being bested by a tiefling...
Sarvin like many tieflings was born into the slums of Korvosa and had to fend for himself at a young age, yet strangely instead of becoming a gang member or a criminal Sarvin chose to study... Study he did, writing and reading came easily to his mind and soon he learned to read Thassilion by visiting Magnimar and interacting with it's strange monuments. Then Sarvin for a period of thirty years Sarvin worked relentlessly to learn sin magic from the few sources he had available and by experimentation...which is the reason why his left hand is composed entirely of gold. Yet this did not deter Sarvin in the least and eventually he moved beyond simple cantrips.
Now Sarvin thanks in part to the increasingly unfriendly reception he has received in Magnimar has gone forth to Sandpoint to seek more knowledge of Thassilion and of course to hopefully sate his greed...
Sarvin is a creature of pure amorality, growing up in the slums of Korvosa Sarvin did not desire vengeance against society in general... He did however desire to move up in life, he desired to be wealthy and by extension admired. With great wealth comes great respect, while human might call dwarves "drunken slobs" he will rapidly show respect for a rich dwarf who happens to be one of the few sources of employment in town... The best revenge in Sarvin's mind is to live well and perhaps ensure that one's foes rest in eternal poverty...a fate worse then death in Sarvin's mind. Yet despite his greed Sarvin is not going to risk his life for the sake of one jewel, after all what good is gold and riches if he isn't around to enjoy it?
before I stat him up gm do you like Sarvin?

I don't know what the third answer means especially. I was asking if you are using the standard two starting traits character creation rule. If I wanted to trade a feat for a trait, I'd take Additional Traits and get two.
The third answer is that in the Advanced Player's Guide, it states that instead of taking a feat whenever you reach an odd level, you can take two Traits instead.
Dotting for interest, heard a lot of good things about this AP.
Just one question, and it's a longshot: does "Pathfinder product" include third party?
Although it comes with the little label that says its compatible with the Pathfinder RPG, I don't classify third party products as being from the Paizo Pathfinder product line. If you want to know what's permissible, look here: Pathfinder RPG Reference Document.

What a very interesting character! He would be an excellent addition to any party that he adventures with. But before you stat him up, I have to figure out who's gonna actually be playing. Look further down below for details.
****
I'm flattered by all of the interest that you have in my campaign, but I regret to inform all of you that the maximum of adventurers I'm willing to have in the party is six. Eventually, I will make a decision based on random selection from all who have posted in the thread thus far. There is the possibility of being wait-listed while I wait for PCs to confirm their spot in the party. That being said, I wish all of Desna's luck on you while I go make my selection.
GM_Fenwick
...f*cking internet connection at my school is sh!t...stupid re-posts...
Let me know how Varian looks.
Interesting character! He's definitely a well-developed and cared-for PC that I can tell you've invested a lot of time into. I tip my metaphorical hat off to you for creating an excellent character background!

Here's the fluff. Crunch is in the works, but will come after approval.
And he failed, oh yes. The boy was to kill a great boar and bring it back for all to feast, but he was proud, too proud. He was the best of all the male children at hunting and fishing, and knew the boar to be a minor challenge. Instead, he chose to end the lives of a band of goblin marauders harassing Shoanti settlements up and down the Lost Coast.
This decision worked out as well as could be expected: they struck him down, and he died, and was mourned.
For a time.
Even he is unsure of precisely how he came to be reborn. The people praised Desna most highly for her mercy.
And yet, he failed. He did not deserve a tattoo. He was not yet a man. This he knew, and he told the shaman such. The shaman clucked his tongue. "You are correct. For you have learned nothing. Pride clouds your mind as it always has."
Nante was shocked, and protested.
The shaman crooked a wizened finger in the direction of the world. "Go forth from this village, Nante Once-Dead. Do not return until you have grasped your folly. And should you never grasp it, return not at all."
So began the travels of Nante Once-Dead.
How's that?
GM_Fenwick
The results are in! Based on my Simple Random Sample (I'm actually in my Statistics class as I type this up), the calculator has spit out the following numbers and correlated adventurers to be in the Campaign!
[Plugged into a TI-84 Calculator, removing repeating numbers: randInt(01,17,06)]
03- Varian
04- Karl Salvo
07- Jovalson
09- Krissina
10- Viliki
16- Ffordesoon
To all of the players mentioned above: please confirm that you will be able to play. I hope to start the Campaign within one/three days.
For the rest of you: I thank you for taking your time for considering my game and hope to adventure with you sometime in the future. I've got still got multiple Adventure Paths (cost me a fortune) that need to be adventured. And I've been told IRL about my ability to manage several games at once, so I might run multiple campaigns side-by-side (but not on the same day, Desna weeps).
Krissina
Selection by random roll is a new one on me, but I'm in.
So lets see:
Varian: Neutral Half-Elf Fighter
Karl Sarvo: Lawful Evil Human (Chelaxian) Fighter (Cad)
Jovalson: Chaotic Good Human Cleric of Desna
Krissina: Chaotic Good Human Oracle of Flame
Viliki: Tiefling Wizard (?)
Ffordesoon: Human (Shoanti) warrior of some type?
I'll get Krissina adjusted.
Krissina
Thanks Ffordesoon, I was assuming Ranger.
I've only glanced over everyone's characters, but we've no Rogue/trap expert, but otherwise seem to have the bases well covered. 3 warriors, 2 healers and a wizard. Not sure how trustworthy you all are though ;-)
I've updated my profile to reflect the rules/background of the campaign.

Alright! So let me see who's confirmed, and I assume that the following names below will be your names for the adventure.
* Jovalson
* Krissina
* Varian
* Karl Sarvo
* Ffordesoon, a.k.a. Nante Once-Dead
* Viluki, a.k.a. Sarvin the Greedy
Looks like everyone confirmed! Good! Now, I'm going to go set up the campaign thread, which I will link to all of you later. Please take the time to figure out how you got to Sandpoint, if you hadn't done so already in your character description.
I'll submit Kror for consideration. Tried to get into a Runelords game a few weeks back. I'll double check, but I believe he fits this game's creation rules as-is.
I have played about half each of the fourth and fifth book before.
Thank you for your interest, but unfortunately, we have already maxed out our party limit. However, please consider me in the future as I will have other games to come!
Varian Seldlon
here is an image of varian, its pretty close surprisingly, except varian sports a cape that wraps around his neck+chin like a scarf (covering his mouth sometimes.)
Varian
