Still a couple more people to go this round. At least you're all getting rid of weapons!

![]() |

It seems we have been basically able to remove our ability to hurt each other with the exception of Pai, her enveloping void will expire one round before the haunt ends (one round I think) what do you think of having everyone roll their remaining percentiles and only worry about them attacking someone if they get 3 failed rolls in a row. The first failed roll they would get up and walk over to their weapon. The second turn would be grab weapon and move adjacent, third round would be full attack on nearest ally. Pai, would be the exception and could attack with shadow conjuration on a failed percentile before the last round and could attack with PK on the last round when she can see again.

I will stay closest to Pai and continue to enveloping void our PCs until everyone has been targeted, blind, disarmed, spread out PCs are very little harm to each other. @EF if you like I can consolidate the rest of this into one post if it is fine by you. If you would rather do it your self or keep it in rounds that is fine too. It seems everyone is onboard for the disarm and stay apart plan.

EndlessForms |

Yes, I am fine if you want to roll several rounds worth of actions now that everyone has disarmed themselves. You can start blasting the haunt with positive energy and hope that it ends sooner rather than later.

![]() |

Does anyone in the party mind if we run through this haunt in one giant post with the idea that everyone will move apart from each other and try to stay disarmed? If you want to continue to role play this out that s fine with me as well.

Over the next few rounds everyone will get their sight back.
I hope I did everyone's character's justice. Kind of sad that Pai used up those spells but did not have much of a choice based on the compulsion.
Wadreskus looks a little harried and disgruntled, eyeing everyone with a little suspicion.

EndlessForms |

Wow, well done Wadreskus! That was a lot of work! Thank you, that will speed things up tremendously. I thought about doing that a few days ago but I didn't want to overstep my GM-boundaries. That was a tricky haunt to deal with, especially over PbP. But now that that's out of the way, hopefully things will go smoother:
Everyone breathes deeply for a few seconds after the chaos and calamity of the last couple minutes. Are you allies themselves now? Are you yourself well? Before you have time to ponder these questions too much though, you notice the visions of the corpses, bloodstains, and the sewing scissors slowly disappearing from view.
The bedraggled woman splattered in blood remains, however, although the blood slowly fades from her image, her ghostly eyes losing their glazed, maddened look and instead focusing for the first time on all of you. She breathes deeply and sighs, as if waking from a troubling dream. "Oh!" she starts, "oh, my! Who are you, visiting this place? I am Margaret, master of hair and makeup. Are you new actors? Lost stagehands? I wasn't expecting any appointments just now but I can squeeze you in if there's been a mix-up."

![]() |

The haunt seems like it would be a fun/tense 15 minutes at a table top game, but was a poor match for PbP where it could be 2 weeks of frustration.
A mix up perhaps, we were hoping you could tell us a little about Olivina. Do you know what has happened to her?

As good as Wadreskus has been doing leading the haunt and investigations so far, let's make sure this isn't a one-man adventure! Other people should join in and help him figure out these mysteries!
The hairdresser spirit considers Wadreskus' question for a moment. "Ah, she was the one rehearsing just the other night I do believe. Yes, I heard Olivina stay late one night to practice a soliloquy, and all of a sudden there was the sound of a scuffle, muffled footsteps, and muffled screams. I suppose it could have been real trouble, but I wouldn’t interrupt over something like that—not after the lecture I got after interrupting the last diva to stalk these halls. No, no…” She trails off while grinding her teeth and nervously clipping her scissors together, though she does not become violent.

![]() |

So time passed between the scuffle and the screams? Interesting, and what then happened to you?

![]() |

"Hey! When's this darkness gonna wear off?" Desmond rubs his eyes vigorously, blinking... looking around, then repeating the process.
"Margaret, is it? Yeah, who was this woman? Someone that Olivina replaced?"

![]() |

It will wear off in a moment, sooner than these wounds will, that's for sure. Wadreskus says in a loving grandfatherly tone.
Great call Desmond, looks like we may have a potential suspect. I glanced right over that. Looks like my sense motive is no where near Wadreskus's or yours.

EndlessForms |

So time passed between the scuffle and the screams? Interesting, and what then happened to you?
The ghost looks at Wadreskus with a confused look on her face. "What do you mean what happened to me? Why, nothing! I stayed out of trouble."
"Who was the last diva here before Olivina? Where did she go when she left the hall?"
"Margaret, is it? Yeah, who was this woman? Someone that Olivina replaced?"
"Well, the room has been locked since then and it has been a while since I have had a client, to be honest. I believe the last diva I serviced was Hollina Drake. Do you know her? People have come and gone into the room since then, but they haven't been sending me clients as much as they used to. Maybe I should put a complaint in to the manager."

![]() |

Nicely done, Wadreskus!
Realizing that the ghost doesn't know she's dead, Sir Terramor plays along. "Do you know where we could find Hollina?" he asks, ignoring Pai's mention of her fate.

EndlessForms |

"Hollina? No. . . now that you mention it, I haven't seen her in ages! Perhaps she has given up the arts-retired or grown old or gotten a bad case of acne. Who knows with some of those types."
Anything more you want to ask her? You still don't have a solid lead on how to find Olivina.

![]() |

"Well now wait a minute. My friend here says that word around town is that Hollina was murdered twenty years ago. If we've managed to hear about it, then it has to be somewhat well-known. C'mon, just tell us what you know, or even what you think you might know."
Something's up with this woman. Either she's lying through her teeth, or she's got serious memory problems. How would she not know about the murder of an actress she worked for?

![]() |

In which case it couldn't have answered your earlier question about Olivina. Unless the haunt was just created, this may be a ghost. Or maybe there's another past woman also named Olivina?

Let's continue asking her questions and search the room when done.

EndlessForms |

"Hmm, no I don't think Hollina was a very nervous or paranoid person, if that is what you are asking."
I think you guys are getting side-tracked by a murder that happened 20 years ago instead of the current missing person. And besides, recall the nature of the haunt: the woman you are so peacefully speaking to (who doesn't seem to know that she is dead or how she could have died) was just moments ago covered in blood and surrounded by several corpses. The mystery of the 20-year-old murder shouldn't seem so much a mystery....

Margaret gives a small laugh. "Well, Olivina always bragged about being carried out of the theater by her adoring crowd. So I suppose it is only fitting that it sounded as though someone were dragging a great weight out of here after I heard the scuffle."
"Friends? No, I can not think of anyone who would have done that. Swampers though? Well she's a sharp-tongue harpy, but no actress deserves to be dragged off by the swampers like that. I did find the building's back door open a little later and the sewer grate back there was ajar. So yes, I think swampers would be a good bet."
"Nobody knows the tunnels below like the swampers know them." The spirit smiles knowingly and sighs romantically. "There are so many tales of the desperate seeking the witches and werebeasts of the mire, wishing for cures, curses, and more. Call on them, and they'll answer, that sort of thing. There's a sinking manor carved with signs of swamp gods out in Graidmere. Go there and speak this aloud three times: dark marsh, dark secrets, I petition thee. The swamp listens, and they'll answer."

"Thank you for helping us, Margaret. It is much appreciated."
Sounds like we can go check that grate for any clues, and/or head to Graidmere to see what might happen, if we follow her advice.

In the prop storage (A3) you notice several standard costumes are missing; any respectable theater should have at least one beggar outfit, city guard outfit, and merchant outfit. Several wigs also seem to be missing.
More importantly, perhaps, you find several strands of curly red hair wrapped around a nail head sticking out of the stage floor.
Graidmere Swamp lies northwest of Karcau (if that is where you are heading next).

![]() |

Oh, look here! Red hair strands! Wonder why they are here? Quiven will check to see if there is a trap door in the stage floor.

![]() |

"Are there any red wigs here? If so, is there one performer who uses the wig? Maybe that's a clue. Or they might just have red hair naturally, of course," Pai adds, thinking through her process out loud.

![]() |

Wrapping the stands of hair in a small cloth before placing them in his pocket Wadreskus heads back to the memorials to see if someone left a sketch or drawing of Olivina. If he can not find one he will ask around to see if someone can make him a quick sketch. He will also seek someone out to ask what color her hair was.

![]() |

"Good idea, Wadreskus - we don't really know what our Olivina looks like, do we? Perhaps the hairs belong to her..." Desmond paces around the costumes. "So, we should be on the lookout for a begger, a guard and a merchant that look to be costumed? Also wearing wigs?"
"They're not much, but perhaps you could let Sahrek get a whiff of those hairs - might help us find whoever they belong to a little quicker?"
