Idiots, Levin thinks to himself. I could've talked our way out of that.
His eyebrows rise when the man casts a spell. Hm, now this could get interesting... He raises his bowl-shaped buckler, and raps on it sharply with one of his rings. With the precision of practice, he slides his ring around the bowl's rim. A high clear tone, like the chime of an unending bell, echoes in the room as he makes his way toward the man, keeping the tone in the air with his ring. "You don't have to do this. My colleagues' temperament notwithstanding, I'm sure we could work something out."
Starting a Spellsteal performance.

Kiri nods.
"If you will not give up your unholy deeds, then you will die," Kiri states flatly.
Seeing that this alchemist wields quite some power, Kiri moves to end the threat quickly. She moves to the front of the line, her scimitar lashing out and catching the enemy's shoulder. The lightning crackling on her hand moves up the blade in an instant, sending sparks across the alchemist's teeth.
I'll use a point from my arcane pool as a swift action to make my weapon +1
Scimitar Attack, arcane pool: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 1 = 261d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9 +3 more if wearing metal armor
CRIT?: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 = 101d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7 +3 more if wearing metal armor
shocking grasp: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9 Assuming that misses, so if not a crit is only 17 dmg
| GM DevilDoc |
Levin, my understanding of that skill is that you have to make a touch attack to steal a spell. This would provoke an attack of opportunity, I believe. If I am incorrect, please tell me your interpretation over in discussion. For now, I will leave your action open.
Oops, Myantha took 4 dmg, not Kiri. Sorry.
Kiri pushes through the party to deliver an overwhelming smack to the hunched man before the group. His leather armor prevents the shock from being quite as bad as it could have been though his hair stands on end, and his knees nearly buckle under the amazing blow.
Did not confirm.
Myantha finishes casting Gravity Bow, and stands ready.
Abaal, your readied action against Mr. Morrow fades out, as you are not in range.
Mr. Morrow moves in on the flank of the column, attacking Levin with all of his might. Luckily, the nimble little bard dodges out of the way.

Yes and no. It does require a touch attack to activate, but no it doesn't provoke because activating a supernatural ability doesn't provoke. Also, since it's a bardic performance it requires a standard action to begin, so I can't do it until next turn.

Suheyla moves to the side and sends a snowball at the alchemist, but cant see her target well enough through the press of the combat to hit her target. No PBS or Precise shot to negate firing into melee or the soft cover. However, your move does give Mr. Morrow an AOO.
AOO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
The zombie fails to take advantage of the closeness of his opponent though.
Siorai steps in and gives the Vat zombie a resounding smack, drawing deep wounds in the undeads body.
Myantha sends an arrow at Mr. Morrow, but his tux remains undamaged. That is, until Abaal steps forward and cleaves it with his falchion in a mighty blow.

Badly injured but refusing to let the alchemist go, Levin slips the ring off his finger. The ring continues circling its brass bowl unattended. Levin tumbles away from the nearest zombie to close the distance to the enemy. With his newly-free hand, he reaches out to the man-- or, more specifically, to his magic.

Kiri needs to make a save vs the bomb to keep from being staggered. Levin was covered in splash damage.

His Harrow Chosen feat means divination spells (like Mind Thrust) get cast as if the CL was two higher. The Messenger of Fate Feat likewise increases CL by 1. Expending the dew of lunary (20 gp power component), gets an additional boost, bringing effective caster level up to 5. It's a pretty cool trick.

Yeah, that's exactly right. I'm not convinced the Dew of Lunary was worth it. I've blown 40 gp so far, and the additional damage rolls were 1 and 3.
And...It's a trick that would work better if we were in a dungeon that wasn't filled with undead. I can affect an undead (even a mindless one) with my mind thrust 1/day, but so far it has just been skeletons and zombies so it didn't seem worth it.

Myantha Näilo
|
Myantha looks up from examining the wand to interject "I don't see how that will work. Our contract stated that we deal with the culprit and clear out the ossuary. Now, I'm no dwarf, but I having a feeling that this hellhole is far more extensive than we've anticipated, and I highly doubt that this miserable wretch is going to willingly come along for the ride. That being said, the contract never stated that we were required to bring him in, or even produce a body for that matter. It would be far simpler to end him here and now.
Besides, is our sword point any crueler than the clergy's? You saw how eager those simpletons were to keep this entire situation under wraps. There will be no trial, no public hearings. They will simply 'deal' with him in the quietest way possible and then try to forget that it ever happened."
Levin Hessel

Levin wags a finger approvingly at Myantha. "That's some head she's got on her pretty shoulders," he says to the others. "Quite right of course. This little tidbit was hidden the text a little ways away from everything else, hence my late addition of the information. I have adjusted the map. Once you have decided what to do with the man, this leaves two choices.. the bridge to the next room, and the secret door.
