Both Myantha and Kiri miss the varguille, but Abaal and Levin score major hits against the beast, almost dropping it.
This is dependent upon Suheyla and Siorai not hitting on their catch-up
The Varguille stumbles in the air, but holds under the assault of sword and arrow. Regaining its balance, it flaps towards Abaal, and just barely manages to get its teeth around the mans armour. Thankfully, this ones poison seems to be depleted!

Between Levin and Kiri, the monster is brought down in short order.
The party has several choices from here.. The room you are in opens up to the right, revealing a long chamber decorated with large carvings of religious ceremonies and priests handing down judgments to the common people. Stone benches are lined up before a podium at the southern end of the room, and a single door stands in the northeastern wall. From beyond this door, there is no sound to indicate what may lay beyond. In addition to this, you have a hallway near Abaal running south and into large, ornate double doors, and double doors on either side of the hallway near Kiri.

How about the double doors to the west?
Sounds good to me.

Ditto.

West it is!
Abaal steps forward, opening the doors behind the party, displaying a long, oval-shaped room. Floating balls of fire illuminate walls covered with a bewildering array of runes, sigils, and glyphs. Beneath these carvings, stacks of engraved stone tablets rest in recessed niches in the walls.
Just to save some time, all writings in this room are Thassalonian, and require a DC 30 Linguistics check to read. Should one of you magic users desire to cast Comprehend Languages, we can work something out but multiple castings will be needed to interpret all of the information.

Not trained in Linguistics and don't have comprehend languages, so nothing I can do.
Levin looks around the room at the ancient runes. "Wow. I bet there's a lot of information in here, if only I could read it..." He makes a mental note to return with a Thassilonian translator sometime.

"Perhaps, while we are here we could check the doors down this hallway." He indicates the one Kiri is standing next to.
GM DevilDoc
The party leaves the room, and moves back into the hall. Kiri walks forward, and opens the next door available to her.
The smooth floor and ceiling of this circular room have been polished to a glossy shine, and the curving walls appear to be made of a faintly silver reflective material as smooth and flawless as glass.

Levin pokes one of the walls, wondering if it would leave a fingerprint. Curiously, he feels a low vibration beneath the surface. Casting a minor spell, he notices a strong conjuration aura coming from the room. "Well, it's definitely magical. But I can't say for sure what's in here."

"I believe the vibrating stone gave that away, but thank you for the input." says Myantha with a sneer as she further examines the room.

Realized that I hadn't said anything witchy in a while. Anything else of note in this room, GM?

Kiri casts detect magic and examines the room.
"The purpose of this room is not immediately evident," she says.

Myantha: Not at this time.. this is another of those things that I do not believe translates well to PbP. I included it before I really gave a lot of thought to how to make it work.. Anyone really curious as to what this room is may message me or ask over in discussion, but in the interests of expediency, lets move on.
The party moves on, opening the door across the hall to reveal a mirror image of the one they just left. The only door left on this hall is a stout wooden one at the far end, from which the varguille came. There are blood smears on the wood, it appears that before becoming distracted by you, the varguille had been beating itself against this door for some reason. There are no sounds from within, but the door is locked.

"Curious. Levinpleez, what do you think? Your lock picks or mine?" Abaal says indicating the new door.

Abaal bounces off of the door a couple times before setting his feet and getting in a well aimed slam. As the door gives under his stout shoulder, A small yelp is heard from within the room, and suddenly the area becomes very dim.
Red circle is the area of a darkness spell, and is now under Dim Light conditions. Modifiers can be found HERE 20% miss chance with any attack is the main gist here, depending on how yall handle the upcoming.

Levin waves a few fingers toward the dark room-- and nothing happens. Magical darkness... Interesting. "Who's in there?"
Casting light, which of course does nothing since darkness is a higher-level spell.

Abaal and Levin move into the room cautiously, and receive an unintelligible smatter of guttural sounds in response to their questions.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Suddenly, Abaal feels a small body bounce off of the side of his leg. It is a small creature, clad in dirty and smelly wrappings concealing most of its body. As it moves, you catch a flash of pale white hands and a long, pale nose.
No one speaks the only language this this speaks, so some other form of communication will have to be used. Abaal, I will leave it up to you if you wish to interpret this as an "aggressive move" and attack.

"Ur, err. Hello?"
He tries the greeting in each language he knows: Aklo, Common, Draconic, Gnoll, Kellish, Osiriani.
GM DevilDoc
As Abaal holds his swing and tries several different languages, the thing at his feet looks up at him and says something unintelligible.
This thing only speaks Dark Folk, so we are going to have to go with some acting! :-)
It tries again.. several times.. in response to each of Abaals attempts to communicate. Finally growing frustrated at the confused look the man keeps giving him, the creature then flaps its arms, points to its head, and then flaps its arms again. It finishes its pantomime with pointing down the hall and looking back at Abaal.

"You're hot. You're airing out your armpits.... No.... You're flying! You're a bat or a bird! You're bird! You're a bird.... A bird.... A bird who's flying. A bird who flew over your head. Your head. The bird went to the privy on your head! No. Was it a bat? No.... Hmm. The vargouille! The vargouille thing went on your head! You know I didn't even think they had necessary the parts for that."
GM DevilDoc
The dark creeper becomes increasingly frustrated at Abaal's continued vocals, and finally begins pointing to himself, then to the door.
GM DevilDoc
Clarification: it was pointing past Abaal, back the way yall came from
GM DevilDoc
The creature again points to himself, then to the door behind Abaal. This time, however, he adds a shooing motion at the warrior.

Exasperated, the creature steps up to Abaal and attempts to push him out of the way of the door.
GM DevilDoc
Short of anyone else stopping him...
The creature bows as Abaal steps aside, and quickly moves down the hall, his circle of darkness following him.
Now that the darkness has left with the little creature, you can easily see the interior of the room. Religious carvings depicting the judgment of souls cover the walls of this room. A stone pedestal with a bowl-shaped depression on top stands in the northwest corner. Wooden cabinets and chests of drawers line the walls.
Searching the room, you find: I am assuming one of the magic users casts detect magic..
A cloak hangs in a cabinet of mundane priestly vestments, and two scrolls may be found among the religious texts. The rest of the religious accoutrements stored here are all unexceptional, though the church of Pharasma will pay a total of 100 gp for these historical artifacts. In addition, an engraved ivory bracelet (worth 20 gp), three freshwater pearls (worth 10 gp each), 27 gp, and 32 sp.
One door exits this room, on the far side of where you entered.
