"Well then, I'd best get some sleep." Variziel claps Sylus on the shoulder. "Well met, friend." He then moves off to the quarters for the new recruits, nodding to any of the others (as in other PCs) if he sees them.

Iggy,
First Reply Yeah, that those two a jumped-up set o' right b@stards, they are! Plugg especially, what with his airs of snobbery and all. Ye know how that little sh!tf@ck talks like he's some bloody Taldan noble! He's a whoreson, always will be!
Second Reply Yeah, me mother may not have been a pirate, but she was a fisher and the sh!t if you wouldn't knock the Hells outta yer head with a twenty pound Abendego Bass she carried in that cart of hers!

Variziel, your actions have been noted!

Why Mr.Ult, if I didn't know better, I would say you're trying to wake some of the crew! Really are testing that soundproof room, eh?

Temerith:
Kel's rotted features focus on yours, You risk much with your words, mortal. That shows boldness at the very least. I accept your bargain, but know that no power comes without price, no success without the risk of failure. You shall have my aid, but whether you succeed or fail is in your own hands. Do you understand? Kel's gauntleted hand remains outstretched, awaiting an answer. There we go! I managed to word it in such a way that does not obligate me to aid you in your later bid if you and Kel complete the compact! This enables me to keep neutrality while advancing this sub-plot. If you agree, then merely shake Kel's hand and remember his words well, for they are wise!

GM:
I accept your bargain, as for the question of power and price I tell ye this. There be worse things in the depths of the Lost then even Ydrius, things with no name that even the Azlanti learned to dread... If I truly wished to have captaincy at any price I would bargain with those spirits and feast upon true power until none could oppose me... With that Temerith grabbed the extended hand and shook it... as for what Temrith is speaking of there be things in the Lost that truly have no name, take that as you will with a heavy dose of H.P Lovecraft...

Temerith:
As you grasp the undead pirate's gauntleted hand, you feel a surge of arcane power run through your body, coruscating waves of pain that make you feel as if your body is aflame. Kel's hollow voice reverberates in your mind, When you wake, the spirit of Captain Kel shall share your mortal vessel, granting you the knowledge and power of the ages, as only the dead possess. Eryanis kor sathis, volnogus nos datreis, zelkrisos deras negah, paiyos beren kaat! Kel's arcane chant continues, the sounds builds like a wave, as does your pain. As Kel finishes his chant with a raspy shout, the pain overwhelms you and the world goes black. A moment later you wake up on the floor of the Wormwood. Was it all a dream, you wonder? As your senses gradually return, you feel the dampness of your clothes and know that it was not. As you stand, you catch view of the palm of your right hand, an arcane glyph made of scar tissue like a brand long since healed, a scar you never had before...

Temerith studied his hand and felt occult power coursing through his veins Temerith made his up to the deck and searched for a place to sleep... He would need to rest well as he plotted...

Female Changeling Haunted Oracle of Waves 1

As evening becomes night and night becomes even later night, Charlotte seeks out a place to sleep in, ensuring that her spot is somewhere near Iggy, Variziel and Salt, and as far as she can from Janus.

"What a day, huh, Sis? Here we are, off on another misadventure. It's like papa used to say; la vie c'est comme une beurrée de merde... What do you think? This gonna be the one? ... Hah, always so optimistic, that's what I like about you. With a little luck, tomorrow will bring in our big chance.

Crewmates nearby can overhear Charlotte inadvertently whispering something in Varisian. "Bonne nuit, petite soeur."

Varisian:
"Good night, little sister."

"Well, let's make 'em proud then." And with a smirk, Iggy heads below deck with his new found friends to get some sleep.

After a long day of toil, you finally lay down for the night. Sleep comes easily, the rocking of the ship on the ocean's waves soothing you. As the sun rises and you stir to consciousness, you hear the ship's bell ring, followed by Scourge's unpleasant, raspy voice shouting, Time to get up ye worthless slogs! If ye are still in yer cot when I get belowdecks, I'll give ye 3 lashes ye scabrous mongrels!

Thus begins day 2. Just as a note, you all are sleeping on cots in the same room on the mid-deck, even Janus after he finished his 'performance' and Ignatius whose quarters must be prepared. You can take this moment to RP or to head straight for your job. Or you can lay around and get 3 lashes as a wake-up call! Works better than coffee and it'll only cost a few strips of flesh!

Aquan:

Male Human Inquisitor 1 | HP 11/11 | Init +2 | AC 12 T 10 FF 12 | F +4 R +2 W +4

Iggy chuckles and stretches, muscles bulging from the work the day before, his baritone voice rumbling with the strength of the waves against breached hulls. As he speaks, he begins to rouse his sleeping companions to get up on deck before they all end up with stripes.

Aquan:

Female Changeling Haunted Oracle of Waves 1

Charlotte speaks out from the women's corner of the sleeping quarters, as she laces up her overshirt, sitting up on her bead.

Aquan:
"Don't got assuming too fast. The sea's tongue is one more than a few sailors would take the time to learn. Plus, I doubt they'd take well to the new blood talking a foreign language between themselves."

"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm not too keen on getting lashed, myself."

With that said, Charlotte picks up her fiddle and heads out on deck, stretching.

With that he will head off towards the medbay.

Temerith, bend is the Kaer Magan phrase for attractive Halflings, though it's use has spread to the Shackles. XD You succeeded on your work, but roll try to beat a DC 10 Constitution Check for fatigue. And yes, you may influence!

Iggy/Charlotte, The two of you walk into the captain's quarters, where you see Harrigan's heavily muscled frame standing over a map made out of some sort of leather. He notices you both and stands up straight, There the two of ye are! I'm busy planning our next raid, so I'll keep this brief. Charlotte, go to Grok and get me a flask of brandy so I can enjoy the music while I think. Ignatius, a few among the crew have become, shall we say, 'restless' lately. Yer new duty is to find these troublemakers and report them to me. I don't care how you get the information: spy on them, interrogate suspicious individuals, it matters little to me, just get it done, savvy? Now, if the two of ye have nothing to ask, get to work, for the day is still young!
Iggy, you must succeed at a DC 15 Intimidate or Perception check to find troublemakers for reporting or you must succeed at a DC 15 Bluff to either lie about there being no troublemakers or to frame someone. You cannot frame an officer.
Charlotte, just post you are going belowdecks to the quartermaster, no more than that (Worded however you choose of course,). The reason will be revealed to you soon.

Jesal, As you walk belowdecks to the kitchen, you spot Kroop trying to hold a pig down. He notices you and speaks, in a much clearer tone than yesterday, Could ya lend me a hand here, Mr.Salt? This d@mn swine doesn't want to sit still! Captain Harrigan's ordered some bacon-wrapped baby swamp barracuda flank and our position depends on gettin' it fixed!
After you get the pig subdued, it's up to you and Kroop to slaughter it and prepare it, a DC 10 Profession: Cook or Survival check to succeed. Kroop will be doing the actual cooking, so no worries there!

Temerith spotted the massive creature called Ogruk and recognized that now was the time to prey upon what was likely a highly superstitious pirate, time for some good old fashioned trickery I dare say...

Temerith made a series of gestures with his hands under the sails so as to not seem suspicious and then spoke with the massive Ogruk... He spoke quickly and quietly to Rosie, Rosie I got a plan, play along with me as it shouldn't be to hard seeing as how superstitious that Ogruk likely be...

I don't believe the rules allow disguising spells with a straight bluff check. Spellcasting is a pretty obvious thing, what with the vocal and somatic components and whatnot. Of course, the GM is free to allow it. GM, if you do, please be consistent with it, because I'll be using it a lot too. :P

Jesal is correct, Temerith. Now, if someone were to come up to you asking what you were doing, you can attempt to bluff them to ameliorate suspicions, which is legal since most pirates are ignorant of the arcane (Not necessarily arcane magic, just my name for magic in general,) and cannot tell a mending spell from an animate dead spell. Charlotte, As you head towards the quartermaster's room, Syl walks in front of you and three other pirates: a female Human with large ears and a reddish face, a male Half-Orc with yellow-tinged eyes, and a male Dwarf with a scraggly beard and a large, ugly nose, block your way back. Syl laughs at you, In a hurry, strumpet? She shoves you in the chest, almost knocking you down. See little miss Charlotte, I know you were the one that threw that d@mn mug at me, I don't care what anyone says. I had a little chat with Scourge and he doesn't like you lot either. Harrigan said no killing onboard, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him, now will it? Syl draws a jagged knife from her belt, the blade glinting in the lantern light.
What do you do? The way back is blocked, though only Syl stands between you and the quartermaster's or the kitchen. There is just enough room to get past her on either side, if you choose to make a break for it. Just letting you know since I do not have Maps up yet.

Of course, Iggy, that's why I listed the two! Since reporting does not take very long, even if you do spin an elaborate lie, it does not count as a seperate action. My apologies for miswording that!

Janus, Pluggs face practically bisects into a sadistic grin, Ah yes, this is exceptional Mr.Ult! Head down to Grok and get whatever materials you need, I'll tell Quarne you will be busy working on a project for us and that you have the day off to work on it. Now, run along and get this beauty put together, yeah?
The cogs are turning!

Temerith, Rosie looks up at you, I hope ya know what yer doing, lad, because that motherf&cker is ripped like a sh!ttin' Jottun! Jottun is a term coined by Ulfen and used by the 'small races' when referring to something Giantish few minutes after you cast the spell, the lumbering form of Ogruk appears on deck searching for you. He finally notices you after a few seconds and climbs up. He stands in front of you, a mountain of muscle in a smelly green frame and speaks to you, Oi, yoo be the one culled Temerith?
Because you hid your hands via the sails and because no one could make out what you were saying at the height you are at, no pirate notices your spell. However, if you're on deck, that's a far different story, so I would advise caution in the future.

Variziel, you succeeded on both checks. You can still head by the shop before dusk. Good thing I don't make it possible to fumble on skill checks though, right? ;)

Jesal, You hold the swine down and grab a nearby knife, slitting it's throat in one clean motion' it's blood running down into the chum buckets. You swiftly string it up upside down and let all the blood drain out. You then cut the meat from the animal, avoiding areas that could be tainted, such as in the immediate vicinity of the intestines and the liver. Several pounds of meat now lie ready for preparation. A good job, Mr.Salt! Now, I'll cook the meal today, so don't worry about messin' anything up! Now, if ya could clean up all that blood, ya can do somethin' else if it pleases ya! Eh it be at nightfall while the rest of the crew be getting drunk or gambling the night away, we will make our plans over good rum! Temerith extended his hand then to be shaken in good shackles fashion...

I may not have the diplomacy skill but that doesn't mean old whitebeard Temerith can't gain allies if Temerith were to become a captain he would be the type that would be as legendary and feared for his trickery as much as his magic...

GM:
In order to avoid any unpleasant surprises ahead of time I'll give you two variants of Temerith's master plan at least concerning Ogruk. First though a little bit of history concerning the Ocean's Lost and it's history, the Lost has been in existence since before even the Azlanti set sail and several traditions concerning it have emerged the Azlanti magi new a bit about the Lost but the first guys to really pin it down and accrue lots of lore about the Lost were the Cyclopi. The Cyclopi basically turned bargaining and summoning the spirits of the Lost from a mysterious and occult art into an almost exact science and indeed if you want truly correct information about the spirits of Lost who came about in and before the Cyclopi empire then it's best to do some ruin delving. The next tradition to emerge concerning the Lost emerged after the ancient Cyclopi went insane and it was the tradition of shamans from the various Island people of the Shackles and the coastal regions of Garudi...

The shamans learned how to do minor summoning of the spirits and bargain with them and gradually they became better at it although only a few like Temerith ever truly became true masters of the Lost (the difference between Temerith and one of these shamans or another spellcaster who learns the ways of the Lost is this, a shaman or spellcaster would have to learn about an individual spirit, its personality, history and seal of summoning to even stand a chance of summoning it and bargaining with it... Temerith and others like him by contrast have basically endured the horrendous downpour of basically every single spirit in the Ocean's Lost by doing so they don't have to bother with a shaman's methods to contact the spirits, indeed among such peoples one as Temerith would be called a Grand Shaman and would pretty much have unlimited authority). These shaman's were able to perform a special rite with a being that is termed a disciple. A shaman could bond a "disciple" (often times one of the clan's most powerful warriors or someone who has done the shaman a great service) with a single spirit of the Lost. This does not often kill the participant since the "disciple" is just bonding with one spirit not the entire Lost and typically confers great power on the warrior depending on the spirit bound (the types of powers gained from the Drowned Cyclops would be vastly different from say the powers of the Elven Captain). The ritual itself requires expensive materials related to the spirit that will be bound they don't have to be anything that the spirit actually owned but rather items that have a symbolic significance. As such Temerith's plan boils down to either one telling and convincing Ogruk to do the ritual once the components are found or performing a false ritual that makes Ogruk believe he has been blessed by the spirits (sort of like an occult pep talk). Just wished to inform you ahead of time in case you had any problems with it.

Janus, you will run into the situation. As I said, the cogs are turning! ;)
Will post shortly guys!

Male Drow Rogue (Shadow Walker, Unchained) 3/Paladin (Dusk Knight, Tempered Champion) 3 | HP

Having finished up in the bilge, Variziel also heads to the quartermaster. I'm guessing I don't run into the issue, since I'd be going later in the day, but we could spin it the other way--I went earlier on and finished up afterwards--if you prefer, GM.

Female Changeling Haunted Oracle of Waves 1

That's what I rolled the concentration check for.

GM:
Do note that Temerith doesn't have to perform the ritual right away indeed in this scenario it's better to actually groom Ogruk for say several months to a year... Not only does this allow Temerith time to strengthen Ogruk's will so as to make the binding successful but it allows Temerith to judge whether or not Ogruk can become a sound investment... Also do you like the history I've put behind the Lost and those who came before Temerith?

Female Changeling Haunted Oracle of Waves 1

With all these spoilers going back and forth between Temerith and the Capn', wouldn't you guys be better off using PM?
