Heya Bold Strider, I have a couple characters interested in this scenario. This is one, but I have a few level 1's and a level 2 brawler if something else is preferred.

With the sixth, the APL will either be 3 or 4. If he plays a 2nd level or higher, then it has to be high tier. If he plays a 1st level, then the party can choose. If he doesn't show up, then we are looking at low tier.

I’m finding it harder to play Season 0 as a f2f or pbp as it seems so many people have played them. Some of those I have played/run were gems … Silent Tide, Black Waters, Many Fortunes of GMT, Mists of Mwangi all spring to mind.

Antonella, I haven't run very many Season 0's, and I have a couple other players I know who haven't played many either, so keep an eye on Maximo's sign-up sheet, or send me a PM if you have a request for something.

Tektite tells a story about nearly losing one of his favorite characters because he thought they were playing low tier, when they were actually in the high tier.

I make our party Freebooter 4, Skald 3, Witch 2, Summoner 2, Stone Warrior 2, Cleric/Paladin 2.

APL (Math is hard): 4 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 15/6=2.5 exactly

The latest version of the guide has done away with +1 to APL with six players, I believe. So does that mean we can choose high or low tier, GM Bold Strider?

In order to determine which subtier a mixed-level group of PCs must play in, calculate the group’s average party level (APL). Divide the total number of character levels by the number of characters in the party. You should always round to the nearest whole number.

Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the scenario for four-character parties. When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustment.

For scenarios written in Seasons 0 to 3, when the APL is in between subtiers, a party of six or seven characters must play the higher subtier. Parties with four or five characters must play the lower subtier. In the fringe case where there are no players that are high enough to have reached the subtier level (such as a party of six 3rd level characters), the group may decide to play down to the lower subtier.

Sounds official Kobad. So the group is still playing in the high tier then due to the party size of six and a rounded APL of 3.

Thus, high tier.

A quick search of PFS products he authored includes Darkest Vengeance and Waking Rune, which both have reputations as player-killers.

In my To Scale the Dragon game, the level 9 Barbarian just got eaten by an Advanced Remorhaz. He might die next turn if he doesn't get out of its belly. Oh, and it ate him on the top of the first round because it pulled high init....

Note: I did not add in any aids to the Diplomacy roll.

I apologize, but my posting is going to be very sporadic this week... Working a double tomorrow, tues I have work then local game, wed is a double, thursday is a early double so should be posting that day, fri is a double, and should get a post in saturday morning before my night shift...
