Kobad was born in Cheliax to poor parents, who had both been recently freed by their masters. At a very young age, his parents sold him into slavery in order to feed themselves . At the age of fifteen, Kobad ran away and made it to Riddleport, where a pirate captain hired him on for good luck. While aboard, despite the kind captain's orders, the other crew members bullied Kobad and pushed him around. One day, when the crew was exploring an island in the Shackles, he met a new friend, Waldo, a dodo. With the captain's permission, Kobad took Waldo aboard, and soon after discovered his knack for magic. After he got paid for the trip, Kobad disembarked and began a new life in Osirion. Here, he found a witch that taught him how to make Waldo his familiar, and to be a witch. It was there that he learned of the Pathfinders, and inevitably joined up to serve Osirion, even though it meant possibly working alongside Chelaxians.
Appearance:
Kobad wears mask to hide his face in case he ever bumps into his former master. He dresses in clothes from Osirion that don't stand out, and when others ask of his mask, he tells them he has extensive burns marring his face, or some other lie to get them to leave it be.
