Your cursory search wasn't enough to find how the secret door opens, but a more thorough search does indeed find the opening mechanism. When closed the secret doors look like a regular wall and where to open it is very hard to find. The tengus however seem to be able to open/close and move through them at will, like they are attuned to them in some way.

Well, lets open the doors we know about. Then we can search for any more. We know there is at least one bird running free and undoubtedly he has gone to tell his despicable friends that they have visitors, so everyone keep a sharp eye out.

I would like to destroy the rest of the doors we know about. There are at least another half dozen. Also, we will search each room as we move around removing portals.

At least that is my plan as I seem to be the one that gets sneak attacked each time.
