Meh cleric channel healing is only really useful for the first few levels before the bad guys easily out pace the healing. combat healing doesn;t really catch back up til you hit heal at L11-13 caster.
Druids and other divine casters can fill the gap on it and go from there.
Though if you want to do hilarious things in a water campaign as a channel focused cleric check out the Aquatic terrain domain. thing lets you rebuke "Aquatic" creatures. which is crazy powerful when 2/3rds of the monsters in a pirate game are likely to live in the ocean.

Hrrrmmm.....
Talmndors lifting/Lifting hands of god is actually a decent option for a healer. I'm actually glad i tripped on that looking at feats.

Calling out to Warren Redmont
Okay so far preliminaries has the crews looking like this. Now most of the deciding factors where a healthy balance of spell, Melee, and Range plus a healer on each side of the line (or atleast healer for now they dont have to continue grabbing heal spells)as well as your alignments to keep the people in slavery away from those that might use slaves.
Crew 1 -
Calah Riptide -Druid- Divine- N
Dinali, the bloody rose - Melee - CN
Warren - Mage (sorcerer) - Arcane- CN
Everryn- Ranged - CN
Water spout - Monk/Melee - CG
Tariel - Melee - CG
Crew 2-
Triss - Melee - CE
Turin - Pact Magic - N
Akadi - Mage (Shaman) - CN
Ostaria- Wizard- Arcane - NE
Cuan - Melee/Divine - CN
Movin - Druid - N
Now from what ive looked at story wise and thematically, this wouldnt be too bad. But comp wise Crew 2 is a little heavy on Spells, Crew 1 has 2 Undines. Now if you would like to switch and someone from the opposing crew would like to switch please speak now and we can get it done. I hope everyone has a good night and i will rejoin tomorrow (or really today since its 2AM here.)
Rachel Riptide
I'd say switch Water Spout with Cuan or one of the casters. It splits the undines (cause they are very useful to have) and brings some magic over to crew 1. I think the alignments should not be that big of a problem. Might give some discussions though.
A shaman also uses the druid spell list so I'd say that group 1 is lighter on both divine spells and arcane. For balance sake i'd say that group 1 needs one more (full) divine caster.
I don't mind going over but then you need to switch and swap more people to split druids up. Maybe me and one of the neutral fighters to Crew 2 and Movin and a caster to Crew 1.
Are there people in group two that would use slaves though?
Kahila Ombo
EDIT: Cuàn here
I'd say Kahila would be somewhat opposed to using slaves. Her father's people sell and trade slaves (dad is a Bekyar Mwangi) but she has always found it to be a strange practice and very much believes that people should have the chance to earn their freedom.
If she had to choose, she herself would not use slaves.
I'm still stuck on the ranger vs inquistor though, mainly because I feel the inquisitor take sort of undermines the concept of seeing Ovonovo more as a primal force than as a demon.
Everryn the Seducer
My gunslinger (which will be under a different alias named 'silvianna') won't really care one way or the other about slaves. Certainly not wanting to own her own but not really going out of her way to help any unless it gains her something.

I actually like group 2 as it is built.
Akadi for Everryn or Dinali* might be a viable swap though, Akadi might have difficulty fitting in on a ship with monsters like Trigg and Nevandi.
Everryn would fit due to how she is very morphic right now, she is mostly out for herself and not much else so she could deal with the monsters lurking.
Dinali would fit thematically/Mentally I think she was plotting for a command position, possibly captain and if she is in group 2 she would be fighting Trigg for such a right. though if both are cool with it that could be a fun little conflict to have. *though some of this is wish fulfillment as I had hoped to be in the same group as Dinali as I had been enjoying her concept.
Akadi looks to me that story wise you don't have much love for slave taking pirates and monsters of the sea. If you are on the ship there is a high chance the Nevandi will target you at some point to change your mind.
Water Spout is ultimately a very nice person and is likely to come into conflict with the monsters lurking on group 2 constantly.
Calah and Ostarian will likely not get along if they are both on the same crew. Druidic vows normally forbid the use of undead, Nevandi sidesteps that due to Zon-Kuthon specifically permitting his druids to animate the dead. So Nevandi and Ostarian will get along swimmingly.

Yeah I could care less about the Classes in the party but I do want to ensure the personalities work out.
So that looks to be Akadi looking to move to the "Good"-Ish group. Anyone want to come down to our level? -casual glance at Dinali-
@ Tris
An' what d'ya mean "Captain-ship" ya' horn-toed yella' bellied blackguard? Only thin' worthy O' Command on ye is tha' rum bottle ya got clenched in yer' an' only fer tha' fact tha 'ís hat be mighty fine. Ya' don' even sound like a pirate much less a captain.
Tris Clegg
@Nevandi- Arr, Obviously ye got more seawater in yer head than brains, ye scurvy cur. I'll knock it out of ye and see if we can find some room fer it, but the only brains and Captain this crew be needin' are standin' in front of ye! intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Water Spout
As Nevandi and Tris strut and bluster around each other both are hit by a torrent of sea water, soaking them to the bone. They turn as one to see a smiling Undine standing near the rails of the ship.
Now you're both salty sea dogs. Haha.
Before they can retaliate he back flips over the rail and into the water. He laughs as he backstrokes his way over to the ship of crew one.
Nevandi Quandalli
Nevandi looks to the blue man "Garm, Fetch."
Edit:Great idea Cuan and then thinking better of it "Beter, Kahila thar' be an uppity fish in the ocean." he says looking toward the woman "Ye'mi'just be able ta'catch it n'gut it if ya hurry."
turning back to his fellow salty dog "But I suppose e' be right. S'not like we even exist yet'game tain't even started an'already tha'goodied goodies be lookin' ta attract our ire. We ough'save tha'arguments on who be captain and just agree tha' plundern' those fools twil'be a plan fer'tha futarh. "
Garm the scaled
You are struck by for a moment as to what he meant, then you spot the brightly colored jungle python lunging out from under the ship at you.
Thicker than a mans arm with alternating patterns of blue orange and white the creature bears a maw full of fangs at you with an explosive hiss.
Its stripes glint in the sun as it chases you through the water.
Cuàn
Wait, you're sending in a snake while there is a shark that's part of your crew? For that matter, you're fighting while there is a shark among your crew?
By the way GM, would you allow me to grab the Hunter from the ACG playtest instead of either ranger or inquisitor? It gives me more and better casting than the Ranger but keeps the feral vibe that the Inquisitor lacks. That and I get access to Call Animal which I so covet.
Garm the scaled
Ccccooome back tasssstey morsssell! is what the serpent would say had it words.
The Undine flees from it in a breakneck chase through the bright ocean coral bed just under the waves. The speeds upsetting the local residents and sending clouds of silt up through the water.
Garm fails at a turn and slams into a wall lamenting the loss of her meal.
Nevandi Quandalli
I think that little piece just decided my characters animal companion.
I was a bit stuck between the constrictor, the Roc and the Spinosaurus.
A dire albatross is great flavor wise though, I might select the Roc and re-flavor it as such if Garm is to die.
@Everryn and a harty welcome tae' tha' better side a piracy. We get better actors and fancier hats. And a fond farewell to Akadi, as I do agree that you would not like the crews preferences this side of the fence
@Dinali I hope ye'can make propah' wolves out a'those half drowned pups ye'got over there. Meh' fine Lady Dinali. I wish ya tha' best an'that tides only áve us met on even ground. Fer' I've no doubt that blood will be spilled both ways if'n we were tae meet on' tha' open sea.

Where to start other then to say i giggled all the way through the last few posts.
1. Cuan because i think this is the easiest. Yes go ahead and play Hunter.
2. Everryn for Akadi, This trade isnt too bad, group 2 heads up you lose some heal, Im okay for it. Both need to post that this is okay.
3. I dont see anyone else wanting to move, i see some people that are trying to get others to move. If someone does want to move because your feeling particularly evil or want to be good, let me know. unfortunately we all cant be evil though, well we can but...
4. I may be able to have a 3rd campaign thread where i can fashion it as PORT PERIL, and every once in awhile when you guys make port you can talk about exploits and stuff. Anyone like this idea?
We are ahead of where we were supposed to be, and we are still looking at Saturday for the first postings of the campaign. This gives plenty of time to sort things and people out.
Roll20 is currently set up with some ship actions that you can take, and i will posting a handout with the different jobs and actions on those jobs. Since each campaign will start from the same place i will just copy it once and will get the links for those soon.
