"Who are you? This isn't what I expected though I'm not sure what I DID expect. Indeed we seek to free a trapped Lord"
GM Batpony

Uploaded a picture of Ilyralene.
The blue haired girl answers your questions like clockwork, with a voice so dead and robotic."I am Ilyralene, Lady of the Clouds and loyal servant of the Duke of Thunder. This book is my home and where I keep all my knowledge.”
“I have collected many theories, but the one I feel is most credible involves the creation of a hammer crafted from the purest elements of fire, water, and earth. Metal from the core of Aryzul’s kingdom must be forged in fire hotter than Ymeri’s hatred and then quenched in water colder than Kelizandri’s heart. When such a weapon is applied to the Untouchable Opal, the gem should break and release my lord. Ostensibly, a similar treatment using equally powerful components might also suffice. For further reading about this subject, please refer to page 109.”
Nemis

Nemis makes a motion as if suggesting we turn to page 109. "If this is true, we have made a great discovery!" Despite her strange nature, can Nemis get any hunches as to her motivation or truthfulness? Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

"Well, this is certainly the intelligent book we heard about. Thank you.... what was your name?" asks Belinda.
"I suppose removal of you from the library and to the pathfinder archives is something you wouldn't approve of? Even if we are trying to free your lord?"
GM Batpony
|
In the same exact manner of speech, she replies to Belinda's question"I am Ilyralene, Lady of the Clouds and loyal servant of the Duke of Thunder. This book is my home and where I keep all my knowledge.”
"My alliance lies with the Duke of Thunder, not with a library.
If anyone has any other questions for the book, ask away! I'll make sure it gets answered. But really after you've discovered how to "break free" the Elemental Lord, the next thing occurs.
At the entrance, an upset, but familiar djinni walks in, she in fact does work here. Fairuza Bereket, whom you met at the library, speaks to you. It is clear she is upset, and knows more about you that you think. "What are you doing!? Why do you seek Ranginori's release?"
Nemis
|
Nemis turns, but says nothing at the moment, taking mental inventory of what he's got left for power.
Belinda Bluefoot
|
Belinda flies down to the djinni.
"We seek balance. Just like your concordance. The elements are currently inimical to most mortals as they are all ruled by evil with no balance from their good counterparts. We seek to change that. Our aims are the same as the Concordance, just viewed from a different angle."
Again, I'm going to assume that Fel takes the lead on this

Maps are updated! Along with some character visuals.
She sighs, presumably assuming you are guided by ignorance, "You don't understand the magnitude of damage you will create! By nature, the balance among the elements depends upon the balance of power among the elemental planes. For tens of thousands of years, one elemental lord has reigned supreme over each plane. To release a second in the Plane of Air would disrupt that balance. It would bring about chaos, with the promise of war and suffering.”
Before you are able to converse any further, you are interrupted by an unusual mix of creatures. A sylph, a large air elemental, and a Pegasus have seem to fly into the room, and seem to be in a state of agitation and anger. "You!" He screams in no one's particular direction, "Hshura has caught wind of your defiance! Concordance and Pathfinders, you shall die!"
In a quick reaction Fairuza throws a bolt of lightning towards the elementals way, provoking it her way, she turns to you before jumping to the balcony. "There's no time! I've got this one, you handle the other two" The air elemental does exactly as she expected, as it chases her to the balcony leaving just the Slyph and the Pegasus between you and the exit.

"I always thought that slyphs and Pegasi were good creatures. Well, Pegasi anyway."
Belinda moves forward and readies an attack against the first creature to attack her. She however pointadly doesn't close to melee and attack them first.

Pegasus are magnificent horses with great birdlike wings upon its back and moves with a quiet and proud grace. They have no special defences or special attacks save for its continuous spell like ability to detect evil or good.
Fung finds himself on the unlucky end of the stick as he falls right within the Pegasus range, sweeps in to charge and unleashes a bite. Of course, Fung retaliates by throwing some lightning blast at it.

Belinda will then continue to the wall, and then head

But she is going carefully, so probably won't have time for an attack on the pegasus as well.
Nemis

It looks like the pegasus is close enough to the edge that Nemis can see it, and if he can see it...
The psychic mentally brings forth the melange of events that cause the steed to burst into flames! Nemis casts Spontaneous Immolation. The pegasus takes FIRE: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) = 4 DMG. It can make a FORT DC 18 to take half. It's also on fire if it fails its save. Additionally, GM call, but the spell may burn away some of the mist.

Nemis is able to pick a small part of where the Pegasus stands but is enough for him to cast a spell of fire on it. The Pegasus is able to resist most of the effects of the spell though, and the flame burns away a small area of the mist.

Khalib cast bless on the party to try to create better odds.
The Slyph moves around in the mist, and seems to not have any problem with vision in there. He's got cloud gazer feat. Seeing a gnome within the mist, he targets her with a bolt of lightning. The bolt of lightning creates a clear path to where the sylph is inside the mist.

Nemis able to pick out the figure of the Slyph manages to cast a direct spell and causes him to combust in flames! Toctep, now his regular size, flies in hard with the carpet of flying, and knocks the Slyph very hard. The Slyph stops breathing, and is safe to assume he is dead. Based on the adventures so far, you suspect he does not understand the meaning of the word careful. The Pegasus is barely breathing, but is unconscious.
The Slyph has a feather token (whip), potion of CLW, potion of fly, and a wand of mage armor on him.
End Combat. Still need Belinda to make both those Reflex saves, both failures make her unconscious.
Almost immediately, you also observe Fairuza descend from the balcony, assumingly taking out the elemental that threaten her. "So, it seems the Concordance is now compromised." She sighs heavily. "Meet me behind Azure halls in an hour, I will explain everything. It is clear it is more dangerous if we continue as enemies." She briskly makes a leave.

Without saying a word, Fung goes over to the side of the pegasus and gently strokes the neck of the mighty beast. He lets out a deep sigh, as if regretting the attack he had let loose on it. He turns to look at the party, and nods in agreement. "Let's see how we can end this conflict."

Fairuza returns with a male Suli, he wears a gem round his forhead and has bright white eyes. He is introduced to you as the Liaison of the Seat of Balance, the ambassador of one of the Concordance’s five leaders. An air elemental in the shape of an airship hovers behind the Liaison, dancing around whimsically. Ashasar smiles at the elemental, telling it in Auran, “We must focus on the task at hand. Please, be still for the moment.”
He turns to you shortly after, and firstly apologizes and explains what has transpired. “Protecting the balance among the elemental planes has been the most sacred task of the Concordance of Elements since its founding. When we learned that the Pathfinder Society came into possession of the Untouchable Opal, your organization loomed as a threat to everything we have dedicated our lives to defending. Tampering with the Opal could create a devastating imbalance in the fabric of the planes. I believed that the Pathfinder Society sought to create this imbalance without consideration for the consequences or, at the very least, was poised to bring about calamity through ignorance. However, I have come to understand another perspective. There are some within the Concordance that have been making the case that the only way to achieve true balance would be to liberate all four of the imprisoned elemental lords. I acted rashly, without consulting the Seat of Balance for approval.
“I am truly sorry for the trouble I have caused you by sending my agents against the Society. I allowed fear to blind my judgment, and I take full responsibility for the harm I have caused, both directly and indirectly. I understand that, under these circumstances, your instinct may be to retaliate, and I would not hold it against you if you were to do so. However, we face a more immediate threat—the forces of Hshurha have labeled the Concordance and the Pathfinder Society as conspirators and traitors. In light of both the nuances of the decision regarding the Untouchable Opal and our common threat, it would be in both of our best interests to share information and resources, so that we may come to the most informed decision and protect each other from what may otherwise be an insurmountable opposition.”
Belinda Bluefoot
|
Belinda nods.
"Yes... exactly. I'm sure that if the society manages to complete its aim with the Opal, they would be more than willing to contribute to similar aims with the other elements, should they also manage to be reclaimed from whatever dark places they lie."
She pauses, adding "And we too are sorry for the harm we have done to your people. We have tried to avoid bloodshed where possible, but unfortunately I think at least one of your agents will be beyond mortal healing."
| Feli2 |
Felicitas speaks up.
"Well we can not speak for the society as whole, this is a decision for our superiors to do, the motto is explore, cooperate and communicate.
I think cooperation is needed here, and a better communication important.
Let there be peace, harmony and friendship!"
