Well, then, I will assume we're selling the wand, and getting the extra money, so please use these values:
Yrja - 7909.82 cash
Dez - 10889.82 cash
Orik - 9754.82 cash
I'm almost done - finishing up the group items now.
Edit: Dez, we have a bag of holding in the group part of the sheet. Do you want to sell that and replace it with a haversack? I'm happy to carry the bag - seems like a waste to get rid of it.
Orik Rostov
For group stuff - our starting funds were: 3474.4
Dez requested:
Wand of Cure Light - 750
Wand of Cure Light - 750
Wand of Cure Moderate - 4500
And I added as needed
Scroll of Resist Energy x4 - 600
Total extra money required is - 3125.6
Orik, however, is broke. Sorry! Too many fun/weird mundane items.
Add any more group purchases that you like!
GM Axolotl
Dez, with 8000 cash you can get yourself a +1 flaming rapier, no? (GM calculations may be totally wrong. All rights reserved)
Dezső
Dez really doesn't want to invest ALL of his resources into that. Does Solveig have a loaner flaming sword? Seems like something the Heralds of Summer's Return might have among them, and something they might be willing to loan for such an important task.
GM Axolotl
I wish. Unfortunately, I can't find anything in the rules about renting equipment. How about a Wand of Flame Blade? You'd have to use UMD.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you that the next Adventure Path is on the Elemental Plane of Fire.
JUST KIDDING
GM Axolotl
In the interests of folks not feeling money rich and item poor later, I did just take a look at the next AP and read some forums. The next big opportunity to buy stuff will be around 9th level. That being said, I don't want to be Mr. Railroader, so if we need to take a side quest to find a @#$#$% town that sells stuff, I'll be ok with that as well.
to paraphrase a forum person, the ability to shop after the clock tower is negligible (and will be for a number of levels).
I've scraped around looking at homebrew for renting, and I think this is reasonable: renting a horse to ride from one town to another is reasonable. Renting a flaming sword to fight a dragon is not, because of the high risk of sword loss/destruction.
Reminds me of a quote from, what was it, Clear and Present Danger? Someone (right, it's Harrison Ford) wants to buy a helicopter, and gets quoted the price of two million. He then asks how much it is to rent the helicopter--two million. :D

Orik: Dez will let Orik take the bag of holding from the loot and buy the handy haversack outright then (2,000 gp). Will you recalculate our funds from the loot based on that? Dez can spot Orik for any shortfall.
Dez will also buy trapspringer gloves, which add a +5 competence on disable device (4,000 gp). My understanding is those stack with his masterwork thieves tools, which grant a +2 circumstance bonus.
If he has the funds, Dez will also buy 5 alchemist fire (20 gp) and a tangleburn bag (150 gp)
For the listed group items, the share is 781 gp each, but we will need to spot Orik, so it is 1042 gp each for the remaining three of us.
GM Axolotl: Is it possible to buy a USED wand of flame blade with only, say 10-20 charges left?
Orik Rostov
If we leave it as a group item for all of our purposes, it doesn’t need to be recalculated. I thought we could use it to collect the treasure for later. If you want me to buy it though, I could. In many of my games we’ve just been buying one using group money - we got lucky that we found one.
Also, we also could drop the wand of cure moderate - I can do emergency healing pretty well, if you’re worried. 2nd level spell wands are really, really expensive.
Dezső
Group loot for the bag of holding is fine with me, but Dez does get credit back for not taking it, I think? Unless you never held it against him. Also fine with dropping the CMW wand, since it is mostly for out of combat anyways.
I just had another idea, folks. I think Dez should just buy a flaming rapier for 2,000 rather than spending 6,000 to add flaming to his keen bladed belt rapier. I think it means the flaming rapier will just be masterwork and not get the APB bonuses his bladed belt rapier gets, but it leaves open the option of adding something like inspired to the bladed belt down the line.
If he does that, no need to buy the flame blade wand, which would do less damage anyways.
Am I missing anything? Sorry about the confusion -- buying equipment isn't my strong suit.
Orik Rostov
I never held it against you, it had always been tagged as "party". All your money I mentioned was yours, as far as my calculations were concerned.
Happy to strike the CMW out. :)
I think that's a fun idea, having two weapons. You should ask Axolotl.
Dezső
Great. I'll figure out my accounting, assuming Axolotl is ok with it.
From appearances he normally would just have the one flaming rapier, because the other is a belt when not in use. Everyone recommends "inspired" as a weapon trait for investigators, so I want to leave open the option of adding that as the next trait to the bladed belt rapier.
Dezső
The math works out, although it uses most of Dez's funds to buy:
Keening of Bladed belt (2000 gp)
Flaming rapier (2000 gp)
Trapspringer gloves (4,000 gp)
Handy Haversack (2,000 gp)
Scroll of resist energy for formula book (150 gp)
Traveler’s Any-Tool (250 gp)
alchemist fire x 5 (100 gp)
tangleburn bag (150 gp)
My understanding is that without the wand CMW we have enough "party" funds to cover the purchases so no need for individual contributions.
Dez is carrying 5 "party" potions of CMW -- do others want to carry one each so he only carries two? Also, who is carrying the wands CLW?
GM Axolotl
The flaming rapier has to be masterwork, doesn't it? ugh, I don't know how ABP and weapon qualities works. Sorry to post earlier that it would be 8000 gp!
You can attune your weapons daily, so buying it at that price (or at 2320?) is good.
Speaking of druids and healing and whatnot, I've been thinking that Chiquq could stay in the Hut once you get there...uh...maybe from some sort of handwaved injury. I didn't really want to kill off the character, and the geas prevents them from leaving the game easily. Open to ideas.
Dezső
I'm happy with whatever works vis-a-vis Chiquq. Dez already has a masterwork rapier, so he just needs to add the flaming. Thanks for reminding me about daily attunement -- today he'll attune to the flaming rapier. I'll get up a post on the gameplay thread as soon as I can!
GM Axolotl
Ah, right. Someone just needs to add an enchantment to it. I'm sure flaming swords are actually popular in Whitethrone, although despised by some people.

Today is my birthday, so I might not have a chance to post until tomorrow. Apologies for the delay!

Hope it was a great birthday, Kseniya! The weather was nice, so I hope you got outside a bit.

Sorry for being quiet the past couple days. My wife and I have been at protests every day the last three days and we are absolutely exhausted. I’ll get a post up as soon as I can.

Thank you for speaking up about systemic racial injustice and getting on the front lines, and I'm glad you are safe.
Oh, and Happy Pride Month, everyone. I keep my politics off of Paizo 99.9% of the time, but here's to a game that is supportive of non-binary characters. Including the iconic shaman!
Dezső
Axolotl, I think you'd find the second volume (Cult of Cinders) in the first PF2 AP (Age of Ashes) very interesting on the question of Paizo's commitment to LGBTQ equality. It's cool to see. I'm running the AP now with my tabletop group.
Kseniya Morgannan
I’m a trans woman and a lesbian myself, so Paizo’s commitment in that area means a lot to me :) I’m actually friends with Crystal Frasier, who wrote Shardra Getl, the iconic shaman!
I took an epsom salt bath yesterday and no longer hurt all over (as bad), so I’ll be posting today for real!
GM Axolotl
I follow Jessica Price on Twitter--she is no longer with Paizo, ahem, but led quite the merry LGBTQ threads on here. Dez--see also COCT (I think)
GM Axolotl
Folks, I've just been busy being an online agitator for a bit. ;) I will get back to posting ASAP. :)
Dezső
As I read along, there are actually two LGBTQ friendly encounters/sequences in Age of Ashes, although I won't detail them if you might play it. They aren't critical to the overall plot, and I have no idea if the rest of the AP will have similar moments. I don't remember anything along those lines in the first volume. Of course, any character in any adventure could be LGBTQ, but it feels meaningful for Paizo to expressly identify certain characters that way. By the way, Cult of Cinders was written by someone named Eleanor Ferron.
GM Axolotl
I think I'd keel over if I ran a second AP. I am, in my spare time (ha) working on a campaign setting and short sandboxy module for Roll For Shoes.
GM Axolotl
Your ineffable GM will be out backpacking from 6/19-6/21. Look to my coming at dawn on the fifth day, with a host of Rohirrim. No wait, that's not right. Beat drums to prevent the Great Wolf from eating the Sun. Well, something--amuse yourselves until I am back.
Dezső
Same for me! I leave tomorrow (Saturday) for a bit more than a week. I will try to check periodically, but I may be less prompt than usual.
GM Axolotl
Hope everyone survived the time change. Feliz Día de Muertos, day 1. For the angelitos, which seems relevant to the game! o.0
GM Axolotl
So sorry to be away from the game for a few days. It's been a lot of work deadlines and other nonsense.
GM Axolotl
I appreciate all of the excellent roleplay regarding dispatching a helpless enemy.
The authors of the module have indeed made Granny Nan about as despicable as can be, fortunately or unfortunately!
I know we all said this content is ok for our sensibilities, but if anyone has issues with the horrors of the module, please let me know at any time.
