Kitsune Game Master

With a short translation back and forth the party gets to know that the thing is summoned to kill the dragon.

I'm sure we can deal with the dragon.

Ask them if there is Anything out of the ordinary about the dragon.

Spugnoir does so.

Kitsune Game Master

The moon beast shrugs.

What are they summoning? We could consider working with it to take the dragon down…

Nothing special about the dragon. They are calling something to kill the dragon, or would have if we didn't show up. I think we should try to handle this ourselves since I am guessing that it wouldn't be a team-player. Spugnoir queries. What were you calling?

Kitsune Game Master

"Are you going to kill the dragon or not?"

It is really annoying to have the conversation be held in your mind directly.

Kitsune Game Master

Yes we will kill the dragon. Spugnoir turns to his team. I don't know what they will call, but I am betting it is big and nasty and we will be better handling the dragon without it.

Ok we need pro Electricity and haste, that invisibility thing worked well last time, any other prep people think we should do?

After the others are ready and cast their spells, Grergof leads them in the direction of the dragons nest.

As the spells don't last long, Abomentolor casts haste and greater invisibility only when coming close to the exit.

Kitsune Game Master

A twenty-foot-wide cavern opens onto a high mountain ledge here. The air is unnaturally still and cool, and a mound of rubble into which an immense nest of sorts has been built sits against the cliff side to the south. But the view to the north is far more overwhelming, for here, a ragged black mountain range extends to the horizon. In the distance, brooding upon the range’s highest peak, is an unsettling and impossibly tall castle, its towers rising up as if a hand were reaching skyward toward the gibbous moon.

The dragon barely raises her head. "And you would be those I have dreamed about. I can smell the other shards on you. Thank you for bringing them to me, apes. Leave them here with me, and I will not contest your immediate and silent departure."

Grergof also casts Divine favor right before the door as it only lasts a minute.
Since I only move 40 with haste, I assume it will take two rounds for me to get there so.

Remembering that blue dragons shoot lightning bolts, Grergof moves into the air and off to the side as he moves closer (to 35 feet away and not in a line with the others) as he moves he says:
the Gods have sent us to check that the shards are not influencing such a magnificent creature as yourself. We would not wish to see such perfection corrupted by so little an item. If you are resistant to its effects then shards could be given, if not May the Gods guide our hands to remove the corruption. I’m sure everyone would prefer the first option as your perfection is an example the rest of all lesser creatures should look upon and admire. And the shards nee to br with those that are not corrupted by them.

Yes, Grergof just declared the dragon his smite target in as nice a way as possible. I’ll let you all throw the first punch when you are ready. I just set up for next round while trying not to be totally obvious about doing so.

Abomentolor is frustrated. This way magic is no fun. He casts stonewall in front of Grergof with an archway large enough for large creatures. A nice wall, 15 feet high and 25 feet wide that shield the group from the dragon, except for the hole that is left for Grergof to smash the beast.

Darius looks through the hoard in the magical spectrum. He picks up a book and flips through it's pages. He looks at his companions, a skinny gnome sorcerer and a hunchbacked guy fiddling around with explosives and hands the book to Grergof. "I guess that's down your alley. I for sure wont start with dieting and excercises at my age."

Even that book won't bring Darius into the range where he would hit a dragon on less than a rolled 20.

Is the shard here? If so we should stop the summoning and get out of here.

We got the shard. Well, it would be rude to go beat on them after they were nice enough to let us pass.

"Who am I to judge them, for what pets they like to have in their mountain lodges. As long as they are not in my way."

"And right now I guess I can drop us back on that platforn where we came in to check ho we get back. This inhospitable place is so far away from everything I know. Is this even still out world?"

Do we need to rest to cast plane shift again to get out? We needed it in the way here…

But let’s talk after we stop the summoning.

After the loot is gathered Grergof leads the group back to the last room.

The moon beasts are still busy with their ritual.

Is the dragon dead? Spugnoir hears in his head. Well all hear it, but only Spugnoir understands it.

Yes! The golem holds up the dragon's head. I hope we can now peacefully go our separate ways.

"Then we don't need our summon. Would you help to get rid of it?"

Spugnoir relays this info to the others. If they agree, Spugnoir tells the Moonbeasts. Yes.

You going to magic it away, or do you need my Flail?

Darius shrugs. "I could try to dismiss it, if it is an outsider. But I'm not sure this is summoned. But it's worth a try."

Darius holds up his holy symbol and casts dismissal on the beast in th ebowl. (DC22)
