Picture of the port

For 60 years the people of Sieben Inseln have lived a life free of the tyranny of evil, in fact you could say things have been going ever so swimmingly well since the great Dresmond Valorous claimed the Isles from the tyranny of the Sahuagin. Trade has been impossibly well with the discovery of so many rich natural resources on the island, and the people of the islands have lived free of conflict or danger. One could even say that Sieben Inseln has become something of a tropical paradise.

However, evil never truly dies and foreboding signs have been reported from several coastal villages. The rumors say that trade ships have mysteriously vanished and that scheduled imports from the mainland haven't arrived, some even say that the symbol of the devourer has shown it's face once more. These sudden disturbances have caught the attention of the Mayor of Middleport, who has issued out a call to adventurers all throughout the seven islands to investigate this matter, he has asked for anyone interested to meet him personally for a briefing at the city hall. Could the rumors be true? And if so what malicious purpose do the Devourer Cultists have? None can say for certain, however one thing is certainly true, something sinister is about to befall the people of Sieban Inseln...

This call to adventure has brought the six of you to the port city of Middleport, capitol of Sieben Inseln and without a doubt the most highly populated and biggest of the towns on the isles. Middleport has also become the main hub for trading with the mainland, which means that many prestigious businesses are run from the capitol and merchants and lords from the mainland come here quite frequently. You have all either traveled to Middleport for this job, or perhaps already lived there nonetheless through one means or another you now find yourself in front of the town hall.

The town hall is not as impressive as one might expect from the otherwise rather lavish and exotic town. The town hall is only one floor, though it is quite large, and appears as one might expect the town hall of a simple fishing village to look like. Nonetheless it serves it purpose and is the place you were told to meet with the mayor, so you gather your confidence and step inside. The inside certainly looks a lot finer than the exterior, though it is still not anything to write home about. Pictures of Dresmond and his exploits line the wall, along with many exotic fish skeletons and a painting of the current mayor Reynolds himself.

At the far end of the room is the desk of the mayors secretary, she sees you enter and waves you forward. When she inquires about any sort of reservation you explain that you have come in response to the mayor's call to adventure, to put down the evil bandits in pirates infecting the fishing villages. She informs you that the mayor is currently occupied and tells you to wait patiently in the waiting room. You comply of course not wanting to sound rude, it is then that you notice five others who arrived at around the same time as you who also claim to be here for the same reason, you all make your way to the waiting room and well..... wait. The waiting room is nothing more than eight wooden chairs gathered around a small table, there is currently nothing on the table. There is also a small wood fireplace in the corner and a large window that gives a nice vantage point over the port and sea below.

Giving everyone the option to intro how their characters got here and perhaps do some rping among each other, once everyone has posted at least once I'll continue.

After awaking on the island of Siebem Inselen with only part of my coin,I am unharmed surprisingly, although I still have a scar from that Captain. It came back to me in a flash, the boarding action, his entire crew killed while he dueled with the captain. Then I had been knocked out. I had woken up a few times while in their hold, but never for long. I remembered the captain talking to me,telling him that he would spare me,for he wasn't a murderer, and he hoped to show me the error of my ways. After finding an inn,I found out what I could about what is going on,then I slept in a room for the first time in a month. Tomorrow,I'll pay the mayor a visit.

Present: After arriving at the town hall,I take a seat, waiting impatiently for the mayor. Looking up at one of the random "adventurers" around me. So what's your deal? At the same time walking over to the window, watching for any familiar ships. especially the Reef Guardian, I think was that ship's name,I never did have a full conversation with that Captain.

Having grown up on Sieben Inseln, Wisp was familiar with its people and used to the droves of tourists that would frequent the vacation spot. But since the attacks, the island felt much more deserted. It's people were less active with no influx of visitors. Still, there was an uneasiness that settled on the community. Maybe it was just Wisp's imagination but it was how she felt nonetheless.

Wisp Waverider was small, even for a Halfling, leading to her nickname 'Little Wisp'. She had a constant 'wet' look about her, her tangled blonde locks matted to her head with bits of seaweed in it. As part of her practice, Wisp's pointed ears had been cut to look like fins and she bore several piercings and some blue tattoos that swirled about her neck like waves.

Wisp felt an anxiety that she was sure the community shared. Wisp's parents had disappeared at sea. No trace had been found yet and the halfling's fear grew with each day. She had to do something or she felt she would go crazy. The Mayor's call to action was a boon and she would take it to find her family and safeguard her home.

The druid dragged herself away from the small dock outside the city that she frequented. It was a place of comfort for her but she would have to leave it. She made her way into town on foot and arrived late. After speaking with the Mayor's secretary, she quietly entered the waiting room. She took measure of the adventurers in the room as she shuffled to the side of the door. Her nerves were getting the better of her and she found herself falling into her childhood habit of...

Stamp, stamp, stamp!

...her foot stamped the ground several times very loudly. She looked up and blushed, knowing that she may draw some attention with her nervous tick.

"Uh...Hello." Not wanting to embarrass herself again, she moved to a seat and pulled herself into it.

As the ship pulled up to the dock. I immediately begin looking for the Hero Son. Seeing a small pink skin with odd almost aquatic features. From my hiding spot on the dwarven ship. Thinking to myself. That one could be related to Hero Son. Short like Rakau bare hairy feet, but looks female and doesn't have Great Turtle shell armor. Maybe she daughter of Hero Son. Maybe she will lead me to him. Stealthily following her through the crowd. Moving from cover to cover. So few if any see me. I follow her into a large building. Upon seeing the paintings, of the Great struggle and of the Hero Son, on the walls. I forget to remain hidden. Going from one painting to the next. Till I find one, of the appropriate time for my peoples part. I bow my head in reverence. I leave a Hungry Mouth tooth and two arrows( one whistling one barbed) on the floor beneath it.

A gentle cough reminds me I am not alone. I jump and nervously look around for a place to hide or climb.
May I help you? The pinkskin behind the the block of wood asks.

I here to help the Hero Son. I point at a painting of Dresmond. To fight the Hungry Mouths. I move my hand to point at another painting of Dresmond fighting Sahaugin.

She opens her mouth showing her teeth and making an odd noise. Thinking to myself. Threat display? She seeks to test my resolve. I respond by puffing up and bobbing my head in my own threat display.
something similar to this. https://youtu.be/GENw8j6QHtM

This only causes her to make the sound even louder opening her mouth all the way. She points to a door way. Saying between bouts of the noise. Wait (laugh)in there (laugh) with the rest. (more laughter)

Having passed the first test. I proceed into the other room. Seeing several chairs and a table and two other people in the room. I do a quick Threat display. To show my strength. Then take aspot near the fire place incase I need to exit fast.

Robert spins around, hearing loud footsteps behind him, immediately going for Onyx, barely stopping himself from blowing the head off of a young halfling. I need to work on that
And who might you be? Robert asks the aquatic looking halfling, holstering his pistol just as a lizard folk(woman?) walked in and took a seat, she looked quite uncomfortable.

As Veldor's boots hit the dock, he took in a deep breath through his nose. Ah, nothing like the smell of a bustling port. Reminds me a little of home. Quick as a whip, he headed to the nearest tavern to look at the public board. There, glaring at all who would look, was the notice for heroes to investigate the local troubles. Oh, that sounds interesting. See the Mayor? Sounds like the beginnings of a fantastic adventure. Adjusting his pack, the Halfling inquired as to which way the town hall was. Upon getting directions, he made his way there, boots clacking on the cobblestone as he walked.

Looking the structure of the meeting place, he found himself thinking, From such humble origins, grand tales are forged. Entering, Veldor's eyes immediately spotted a scaled fellow, just slightly taller than him, giving the, what he presumed was the Secretary, a giggle. After it left, Veldor strolled up to the desk. Not being able to see over the top, he said, "Excuse me, Miss? I'm here to see the Mayor about the investigation of troubles."

The woman peered over the desk, "Oh, another of the short folk. The Mayor is currently busy, but will be with you soon." Pointing to the waiting room, she added, "Down that hall, third door on the right. The others have already arrived."

Tipping his hat, the Halfling headed to the waiting room. Entering, noticed the others. Hmm, fascinating group of people. Oh look, another Halfling. My, she's pretty and looks like she knows the sea. We'll have to talk later. Taking seat at the table, he said, "Greetings all, my name is Veldor. And you all are?"

Ssrazz had swam all the way to Middleport, carried by the currents and kept afloat while sleeping by his armor and the buoys he had carried with him.

Reaching the shore in the small beach at the foot of the harbor, the had made his way, still dripping water, up to the town hall. There he announced himself to the secretary waiting behind her desk with a heavily accented common. "I am Ssrazz, of the Bloodied Coral tribe. I am the double-sson ofs Marazz Wavewarden.", he said, pointing to a painting representing Dresmond the Valourous and his Lizzardfolk companions.

"The drumzz have ssumonned me here to help his Sson.", he added, only to be directed to a room where others were already waiting.

just to help clear up some confusion Matatoa is only 3'3" tall. I added a physical description to my profile today.

Matatoa looks startled and excited. The Hero Son!? He doesn't look like the paintings? How many could there be? If he is not the Hero Son. Then he must be his son. This will be a great war party. Two of his hatchlings have joined.

Great one, I am Matatoa. I have come to serve your family in the war against the Hungry Mouths! He Bows before Veldor. Careful not to threaten him by raising his head above Veldor's own. Are you the son of Father wind and Mother water? Or are you his hatchlings?

The next one coming into the room is a massive Lizzardfolk towering at nearly 7 feet. His is topaze green with a large blue crest and seems harnessed for war with a couple of tridents jutting from behind his shoulders, two netts crisscrossing on his torso over a leather and wood armor and a massive greatclub held in one hand.

Standing at on the doorstep, he raises a hand flat open and palm facing all of you and booms. "I am Ssrazz, sson of Razzal and double sson of Marazz, of the Bloodied Coral tribe. I am here by the will of the Lady to ansswer the call of the softskins as my double-father did before me."

Stepping into the room, he moves to the table and, extending a single finger tipped with the sharp claw, he carves a glyph into the wooden tabletop. It represents a lily flower with a stylized woman coming out of it. "May the Flower of Chance protect this place", he says, before taking a step back and resting both of his hands on his greatclub.

Turing towards the shorter lizardfolk, "I apologize Matatoa, but I'm afraid you're mistaken. I come from a family of Bakers far across the sea. This is my first time here."

Father Wind and Mother Water created Hero Son to fight Hungry Mouths and free the islands. Shakes his head How can there be more then one Hero Son? Are things so bad. That Father wind and Mother water had to create more heroes?

At this point Matatoa acknowledges Ssraaz, with another threat display to show his strength. I am Matatoa

The docks at night can be a scary place. the warehouse by pier 13 was especially scary. many believed the warehouse to be empty. abandoned and run down. But not this night.

Several Longshoremen linger about. many are regulars at the Broken Skull Tavern just across the street.

The so called abandoned warehouse has light from within, as well the sounds of cheers; Tonight is Fight night.

A rather experienced Longshoreman makes his way through the small crown toward a short rotund man taking bets on the next fight.

25 gold on two-fist, to win.

Ha, the odds are against ya, there. this might be the easiest money I made all night. he replies with a chuckle.

the Longshoreman hands him the bag of gold. maybe, maybe not.

The Longshoreman makes his way to the ring.

the next fight is announced, a half-orc with a huge toothy grin, his hands wrapped in cloth and covered with broken glass, steps into the ring to the sound of cheers for the local champion.

The challenger steps up, The Longshoreman that placed the bet. removing the large slicker coat, this Longshoreman is a woman. many in the crowd express their dislike for her. still one or two cheer her on.

The fight lasts for only a few rounds. The woman barely wins, forcing the Half-Orc to tap out. and she quickly leaves the ring amid the shocked crowd. Even the collector stands amazed, he says nothing as she takes her winnings and exits the warehouse, wiping some of the blood from the cut above her right eye.

She makes her way back to the Broken Skull Tavern, she grabs a bottle of rum and takes a swig. using some as an anesthetic for her cut.

The short reprieve is broken as a couple of men enter the tavern, the eye The woman for a second and approach her.

Reggie, the boss says you haven't paid him his percentage of the earnings. now you can pay us now, or we can take it from ya, the hard way. the guys says.

[b]Get the hell out of here, you must be some real dumbass to actually think you even look threatening, look you already started to piss your pants, you stupid....ahhhh screw it.

the next sound heard is fist meeting face and the ambiance of the tavern is broken by a local street thug flying through the front door bleeding profusely from his nose.

he tries to scramble to his feet when Reggie enters the doorway. going somewhere? ya little piss-ant. she says as she cracks her knuckles ready to finish the job.

the woman is dressed in what appears to be common dock worker clothing but of a heavier leather material possibly doubling as armor. her only weapon is a dagger tucked into her belt.

she goes up to the now cowering "thug" and grabs him by the shirt and cocks her fist ready to pound his face.

Enough Reggie, comes a voice from the shadows. A deal is a deal, and your deal is I take 50% and in return, I let you stay alive and keep you from the Hangman's noose. the cloaked figure says as he approaches Reggie.

Reggie glances toward the figure, pulling the coin pouch from her belt.

Time to pay the Piper, Reggie he says as Reggie tosses him the pouch. bag, the cloaked figure leaves pleasure doing business Reggie. The beaten thug gets up and follows his master.

Reggie glances at the wall where she catches sight of a notice. [b]hmmm, the Mayor is in need of adventurers. this might be my ticket out of here. Taking the notice Reggie heads home to meet the Mayor in the morning.

feeling rather intimidated, he points Reggie to the waiting area. Reggie lets him go and heads there.

she stops at the door, checking out the others that are here, wondering if she has much to worry about.

Reggie looks for any signs of rum. but realizing that this place may be a little more sophisticated than what she is accustomed to, she pulls out her own bottle and takes a swig.

So, who's in charge here. she says, announcing herself to the room.

Ignoring for the moment the challenge for the hatchling sized lizardfolk, Ssraaz listens to the strange conversation between Matatoa and the halflings and humans.

What is this hatchling talking about. I do not recognize his colors and his weapons. And he does not seem to understand anything about the softskins and their tribes.

Flaring his crest, Sraaz begins a series of clicks, whistles and guttural sounds.

Draconic:
"Matatoa has challenged Ssraaz. Ssraaz will not respond for now as the will of the Bloodied Coral tribe and the Flower Lady is that Ssraaz helps the people of the tribe of Dresmond Valourous, the one you call Hero. All the small softskins you see here are part of his tribe but this tribe is more numerous than all our tribes together. And the big ones are another tribe even more numerous. That is why they don't understand you when you ask of their blood relations.

And now tell me what is your tribe and ancestors. Your colors and weapons are not in the lore and no tribe of our people with your size took part in the fight with the Hungry Mouths."

The six of you have all taken your seats and await the Mayor patiently, luckily he arrives only a few minutes after you get settled in. From outside the waiting room you hear several muffled grunts as well as what sound like coins hitting the ground, the voice of the secretary speaks out then "Mr. Reynolds! Allow me to help you with that." You hear some footsteps and then silence for a moment. There is an awkward atmosphere in the air as you grow somewhat uncertain what is happening beyond the waiting room door, then suddenly the door opens. In comes the man know as Burt Reynolds, the most recently elected mayor of Middleport, and by extension head authority on the isles. He has a black mustache, neatly trimmed, and slicked back greying hair. In his arms he carries several bundles of giant maps and two large pouches one clinks with the sound of metal whilst the other sounds like there is something made of glass bumping around within. Reynolds barely squeezes through the door with all his stuff and is clearly struggling to not drop something. He moves over to the one empty chair at the head of the table and promptly drops his load down upon the table, the bag of coins breaking open as he does so several gold coins now spread across the table. He clears his throat and takes a seat.

"Do forgive me for being so late, you caught me while I was in the middle of doing so paperwork you see." He says apologetically before fixing the collar on his fancy suit, "It is a pleasure to meet all of you and I must thank you for coming out to help me with our little problem. As you likely all already know we have been having several problems within the isles these past couple months and they have only grown worse with time. There has been many reports of violent animal attacks throughout the islands, particular so by the southern coastal towns. Reports have told me that sea creatures have grown more aggressive and some even directly attacking fishing ships, many lives have been lost with this increase in animal hostility, however it is not our main concern." He coughs in the middle of his explanation and promptly calls in the secretary to bring some water, she comes back with a jug and cups for everyone. Upon getting a drink Reynolds continues, "As I was saying our main concern is the loss of cargo ships in all of this, and I do not mean one or two here and there in fact several southern towns have reported not getting a single cargo ship come in for an entire month, and I am led to believe that this is too organized to be the doings of some hostile animals and creatures. There is some evil work afoot, likely bandits or pirates which have not been a true threat to our land in many years. That is were you all come in. If word gets out about this it could be quite bad, the economy of our island is based largely on our trades with Tyfris and tourism from around the world, and both are being threatened by these recent developments." He unfurls one of the maps, one showing the routes of trade and tourist ships. On the map the ships headed to the southernmost isle and the south of the main island show X's near the shoreline, "From what little we have gathered the trade ships are being intercepted in these two spots, one on the south shore of this island, near Darkcrest, and the other on the northwest coast of the southern isle. As of now no tourist ships have been attacked as they tend to head more to the east and central land, however the threat is still real and if this does happen it will likely hurt our reputation beyond repair." He stops talking for a minute to let you examine the map, pushing the other furled scrolls aside. "What I ask the six of you to do is find out who is behind these ship raids and put a stop to them. I have already arranged this here down payment should you agree to this task, 250 gold coins, and I suggest you use it to buy yourselves whatever tools you deem necessary for this job. So, are you in?" He finally asks.

Little Wisp's face scrunches in confusion as she listens to the Mayer's reports, "Sir," the Halfling raises her hand, "Have you heard of anything regarding the Rose Bow?" She spoke of her parents' ship which hadn't returned in sometime and no message had reached her of its whereabouts. She shifted nervously as she waited for his answer.

Regardless, she was in to help investigate, "I have many friends in the water that can help us figure out what threatens the sea. I am glad to be of service." She also needed a distraction from this worry that plagued her.

Robert turns away from the lizard folk to face Reggie. He takes the bottle and takes a drink.
Ahhh! That feels amazing. I've been serving on the Revenge for the past few months, that is until the captain was dumb enough to attempt to board a Wyvern-class ship. Things didn't end well for him. There were a lot of navy soldiers onboard that ship. Now I'm busy with the mayor's work, while I wait for another crew. Robert finishes just as the mayor walks in. We'll be gettin' time to speak again soon I'm sure his voice drops to a whisper I've got a feelin' that me and the others here ain't gonna be best of friends As he gives her one final look and hands the rum back I'll get your name later too. he turns to listen to the major. Any chance I would know who or what pirates If any had claimed that area?

Matatoa lowers his crest at ssraaz's display. Clearly he is the stronger. He seems stunned by Ssraaz's words.

A tribe of them? Not the son of Father Wind and Mother Water? That cannot be true! The spirits would not lie. This must be some kind of test. I will hold my tongue and watch. I cannot tell Ssraaz about my tribe. What can I tell him to hide them?

As Matatoa sit silently thinking the Mayor enters.

Good a distraction. Hopefully he will forget about my tribe.

He listens intently to the Mayors words. When he is done speaking.

Matatoa will fight for the Hero Son's hatchling. We will make Sieben Inseln safe again!

Reggie knows her place for now. she follows the orders or her captain.

She appears to like the idea of the gold, and Robert's idea of Rum, well that doesn't seem so bad either.

Reggie approaches the table as the others are otherwise engaged, she takes the gold, it will be good to set out to sea once again, its been a long time.

"The Rose Bow you say? Yes I heard reports of it's disappearance, though it was quite a distance from where the other disappearance have been thus we have come to believe it is unrelated. I take it you have some personal reason for inquiring? Though it is no matter of mine so I won't inquire if you do not wish me to."

@Robert: The region around Darkcrest has been free of pirate activity for as long as you can remember, there is a chance that there are some small fry pirates out there but you are unsure.

Reynolds stays quiet as the group debates with one another, though once everyone has finally agreed to help he lets out a long winded sigh. "Excellent it is good to see you are all willing to help, just know that in order for you to succeed in this task you will need to learn how to work as a team. These coins are to split amongst yourself however you choose, and rest assured that there is more were they came from upon your return."

Reynolds then grabs the second bag and he opens the bag and takes from it two bottles, each filled to the top with a cloudy blue liquid, he proceeds to place them beside the coin purse and reaches further into the bag taking out what appears to be a golden badge of a crayfish, a symbol often used to represent authority figures within the isles. "These two potions here contain a healing liquid I had the local church brew up for me specifically for this task, as you can see they are quite large so don't go drinking them in one place. As for the badge." He says as he holds out the badge for all to see, "This badge represents authority on the isles, it is given to anyone who represents an authority head. If someone is being difficult with you flash this badge and they may be more willing to cooperate, however do your best not to flash it to the whole world, we want as few people as possible to know about out current little situation and if you do something stupid while wearing this, the blame is rubbed off on me." After his explanation he puts the badge on the table beside the gold and potions.

"I'm not going to tell you how you should go about this task, however if you have any questions now would be the time to ask them. I have had some of my most trusted men looking into these matters for several weeks now and though we do not have a clear idea of what is the cause of the disappearances we do have some information and leads that may be of some use."

OOC: 250 gold to be split amongst the group, two healing potions 3d8+3(May be drunken in doses, for example you can drink 1/3 the potion for 1d8+1 heals or 2/3 for 2d8+2) and the badge of authority. There are also four maps on the table, one showing the location of the disappearances and the other three still unrevealed.

Wisp slumps as the Mayor gave her no new word on her parents ship. She sighed softly before returning to the conversation. She reached out and picked up a badge, storing it away under her tattered clothing. She picked up one of the large potion bottles and examined it carefully before setting it in her lap.
"You said animals have become more aggressive? That may be a clue to our goal. They would only be agitated by a loss of territory or feeling threatened on a large scale." Pointing to the map she spoke again,"We should start here at Darkcrest and move south from there."

Ssraaz flares his crest briefly in reply to Robert and takes a step back.
Turning to Matatoa, he adds to him in draconic.

draconic:
This is not a test of strength but of character. Look, now we know this one is prompt to anger and interested by money. On the contrary, one of the small ones does not like conflict while the other one is wise and worried about our mission. And the large woman is sure of her strength.

That's what I thought As Robert's hand moves back away from Onyx. Sorry lass. Robert says to Wisp, barely audible. He knew the dangers of ship travel, although not who the little one had lost, she deserved at least that small bit of mannerism from him. I know how hard it can be as he thought back to Alexis, and what ever happened to her,but he wasn't willing to bring that up with the mayor. As he turns back to the mayor, his sympathetic face replaced by his usual business smirk. Or perhaps any news of the navy ship, the Reef Guardian? I wish to speak to the captain of that vessel. I need a bit more to drink before I properly get myself into a mess. As he looks at the woman with the alchohol. Don't happen to have a spare do ya? "What you say may be true Wisp, there have certainty been some serious changes to the nature of the animals on the main isle. Though the most logical reason for the animal hostility would be that they themselves have become victims of whomever is behind these attacks, perhaps they have been driven from their natural habitats and are only retaliating because of desperation." He then shrugs, "Though thats just my view on the matter, I don't consider myself as knowledgeable on nature as the druids, perhaps asking the circle outside of Middleport for help wouldn't be a bad idea. If you think they can offer you some assistance in your task then do ask for their assistance, the more help we can get in putting this situation behind us the better. To my understanding there is also a Druid circle within the swamp near the town of Darkcrest that you may wish to visit upon reaching there, I can't give you any proper directions as to where their druid circle gathers so it will be up to you to seek them out should you wish."

Reynolds then turns to Ssraaz, "To my knowledge only ships and their crew have gone missing, there have been no missing persons reports from Darkcrest or any of the nearby towns. However the last time I got an update from them was over a week ago so who knows if the situation has changed."

"The Reef Guardian you say? I'm afraid I don't keep tabs on all the ships coming and leaving port, that is the job of the harbormaster... though I do think I recall hearing that it was due to depart this morn, meaning it is likely out of port at the moment."

@Anyone looking at the unraveled map: The map before you shows mostly just the regions where the missing ships have been reported, the locations lie largely within the channel between the Main isle(the one you are on) and the southernmost isle. The locations of missing ships seem to all be relatively close to the port towns on either isle, and as the channel is not terribly wide it is surprising that no one has seen any of the attacks on the ships in action, even if they could barely make it out from shore. Also of note the town of Darkcrest is located on a very small island between the main isle and the southernmost one.

@Reggie: This map does not show a wide enough area to chart out a course however Reynolds notices what you are doing and passes you one of the other maps. This one shows the entirety of the main and southern isle and even has a land course plotted towards Darkcrest. "This map should help you reach your destination without getting lost. I had one of my men plot the quickest and safest land route to Darkcrest, so if you follow this path you should be fine, though with everything that has been happening lately who knows what you may find on the road. Alternatively you could try to find a ship willing to take you there... though I wouldn't recommend it, as all the attacks have been at sea there is no telling what you could run into, and I would hate for you all to be another victim of these attacks before we even know what you are dealing with." It is relatively easy for Reggie to plot a water course to Darkcrest, the easiest route being to simply follow the shore until you reach the channel dividing the isles and Darkcrest lie just a ways in the channel.

Reynolds also decides to unravel the other two maps he has with him, the first is a map of trade and tourist routes from Tyfris to Sieben Inseln, on it he has made several adjustments to the routes to avoid the areas where the missing ships have been located. He puts the map on top of the last and proceeds to take out the last map, though he is rather hesitant. "Now this one, well I'm not so sure it will be of any use but... one of my advisers seems to think it has some relevance so..." He opens up the last map and puts it on the table, he takes the first map he showed you, the one that showed where the disappearing ships were located and puts it beside it. This new map is labeled, Dresmond's War Plan and has the regions where sahuagin were located during Dresmond Valorous' campaign against them. Looking at the two maps it is clear to see that the regions where the ships are disappearing seem to line up with some of the more populated areas on the other map. "It is preposterous I know but there is a clear trend between the two, and though I don't like to admit it there is a chance that it is more than coincidence, so do be wary of that."

Lastly he says, "You are free to take all of these maps with you if you feel they may benefit you in your job. If you have no more questions you should probably prepare for your journey, and figure out how you're going to get there, If possible I would like for you to depart before nightfall and the sooner the better!"

Wisp nodded, ready to be on their way. She takes one last look at the maps before rolling them tightly in her small hands,"I am pretty good at finding our way around. I hope no one minds if I hold on to these." She stuffs the human sized maps into the Halfling sized scroll tube at her side. She scowls, "I'll need a bigger holder for these. I'll get one on the way out of town." The Halfling pulls off her pack and situates the potion in her bag before slinging it on again. "I would like to talk to the elder druids at some point, either outside Middleport or Darkcrest, but other than that..." She shrugged and trailed off. She wasn't a leader by any stretch of the imagination. She glanced between the rest of her companions, wondering who might take the lead.

land route seems safest, but if your gonna find out what is going on, best jump right in. A sea route may get us to the heart of the matter much quicker.
