Point Buy: 20 Points
Races: Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Halfling, Humans, Aasimar, Dhampire, Fetchling, Ifrit, Oread, Ratfolk, Sylph, Tengu, Duergar, Grippli, Samsarian, Strix, Suli. I'd like the majority of the party to be a humanoid race. If there is something that's not on this list that you'd like to try, just let me know and I'll think about it. No custom Races.
Classes: Any, except Summoner and any character that is completely reliant on the Stealth Skill.
Alignment: Any, so long as you can get along with the rest of the party enough to(and) reach the AP's objectives.
Source Books: CRB, APG, GMG, UM, UC, ARG and the Inner Sea World Guide. I don't own Ultimate Equipment yet so its not currently allowed.
Traits: Any 2. One of these must either be a trait selected from the RotRL Anniversary Edition players Guide or the Shadows Under Sandpoint section located in the APG.
Hit Points:Max+Con at first level then average or roll after that. If you roll your HP you must take that number regardless of the result. You may choose either option at each new level.
Starting Gold: Average or Roll. If you roll your Starting Gold you must take that number regardless of the result.
Background Story: Feel free to put as much or as little effort into this as you'd like. It probably wont play into the adventure too heavilly...
Note: My games tend to rely HEAVILY on using maps. I use my SkyDrive as a file management system to keep track of all this information. You may need a Windows Live ID if you don't already have one in order to access some features on SkyDrive.

So, I'll probably play a Cleric or Oracle - look to me for your spiritual guidance ;p
(alternatively, I do have an idea for a Barbarian, from the wilds who communicates with the flames)
90% certain human, maybe an elf, if not. I was also thinking maybe he (or she) is a youth from the town - Sandpoint, who had been sent away to a refectory (?) for training.

Treppa |

I'll almost certainly be human. It's hard to beat that extra feat.
All over the place on class right now. I may do straight fighter/barbarian unless we're short on arcane magic. I'd like to see us have at least one cannon. We need at least one big hitter, whether sword or sorcery.
I did make a nice scythe fighter build once I might trot out again. 2d4+STR and x4 crit? Oh yes. Yessss....
Or a witch. Witches can be good.
So we have a rogue (Samara/Meows), a fighter (Ranger/Finwa), a healer (Cleric or Oracle/DSX). That leaves mage and a fifth character open for Mahorfeus and me. I am fine with either slot.

Mahorfeus |

It is difficult to beat the human package. I might pick something else for the sake of diversity, but human is definitely my likely choice.
I can certainly fill the arcane slot. Depending on how many dedicated casters we have, I may go magus, wizard, or tattooed sorcerer. Provided we have enough punchy hitty people.

Treppa |

Rogue and ranger make a very effective fighting duo if they can get their flanking on. They're both skill monkeys, too. OK, so Mahorfeus and DSX are our magic men. I can go big hit fighter or buffer - bard or witch make good buffers and can back up a caster.
You guys have any preference between big-hit fighter type and buffer/caster? I'm down with all of them.

I have completed the map for the first encounter. I figured I'd post it here so everybody can get an idea of how I like to do things. I like to use sight lines with my maps, which means that if there is an area that your character would not normally be able to see due to an obstacle or such, the area on the map will be shaded. Anything within the shaded area will be invisible to the party except for the terrain. With an open area like this it is easier to uncover the entire map. In a dungeon however, it works much better.
- Example 1: DougFungus is visiting the market square waiting for his friends to show up. In this case, only 1 person is on the map. This is what he can see. Remember, the shaded areas are what he cannot see. DF continues to brows the shops while waiting.
- Example 2: Everybody shows up for the rendezvous. Where is DF? With multiple people on the map, everybody's sight lines will be combined. This means that you see what everybody else sees. Remember, just because you can see it on the map might not necessarily mean you can see it IC. The only way to get around this would be to upload a separate map for every character which while possible, is very time consuming.
- Example 3: By moving around the map players will expose new places they haven't seen yet and cover up old ones. There's DF, he was there the whole time.
This also allows some leeway to add easter eggs to encounters, so always make sure to keep an eye out. You never know what you might find.
Please try all 3 maps to make sure you don't have a problem viewing them. This is how they will be displayed throughout the game. I have tested them on both my computer and smartphone and everything worked fine. Let me know if you have any problems though.

Treppa |

Those look nice and I have no problem viewing them on Chrome.
What do you use to make them?
These are Sandpoint-related traits in APG. Are these what you mean?

Yep, you have a 31 point buy going there.

From the ranger class info, you should have a Base Attack Bonus of +1. If you put that in the melee BAB, it will propagate.
Your class skills are Climb, Craft, Handle Animal, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge(Dungeoneering), Knowledge(geography), Knowledge(nature), Perception, Profession, Ride, Spellcraft, Stealth, Survival, and Swim. The way the sheet works, you check the appropriate ones and it adds in the +3 if you put a rank in it. So you need to uncheck Acrobatics and add Intimidate, knowledges, and spellcraft.
You get low-light vision, elf blood, bonus Skill Focus feat, elven immunities, +2 on Perception, and choose two favored classes (Ranger being one, of course!).
You will need to decide where your favored class bonus goes... this is getting long and looks intimidating. If you can find DSX or myself on chat this weekend, we can help ya. It's not that bad, really! :D

DSXMachina |

I have narrowed it down to 3 concepts (boy am I bad at decisions):
I might try stating some of them up, sorry to be so slow.

Gameplay thread is up!
Don't feel as though there is an immediate need to meet each other in game. There is an event setup to bring the party together in the near future. If it happens before then its no big deal though.
Take this time to RP until everybody's characters are complete. If there is a festival game you'd like to try just mention it and I'll make up some on-the-fly rules for it. This is here to get things rolling for you eager posters but keep in mind there is still no deadline for character completion. Please don't feel rushed to get this done. Once everybody is ready we can forward to midday and let the real action begin.
Also, Make sure to check out the Campaign Info tab as I have placed a lot of useful information in there.

Hey, Doug, I can't see the maps, even though I created a Microsoft ID and signed in. I get this message:
Microsoft wrote:You are not authorized to access the webpage at Long URL. You may need to sign in.
HTTP Error 403 (Forbidden): The server refused to fulfill the request.
There was an issue on the back end of things. Everything should be fixed now.
If you still have room for one more I'm interested, if you're all full up I won't have hurt feelings or anything. I'm considering a monk, but if something else is needed I'm open to suggestions.
Leoian, I have sent you a PM.

DougFungus |

It looks like everyone is heading to the Glassworks. This will require a map. All actions will be taken as if you were in combat, therefore you are limited to actions on a per round basis, ie. 1 standard & 1 move or 1 double move etc... We're going to play this out six seconds at a time.
Maps will be updated every round.
Please choose your starting locations. You are limited to the visible area. Fog of War is turned on and the black parts will go away as you explore them. Blue parts are windows and doors are clearly marked because they are hard to see.
Note: all windows have the curtains drawn.

*Bounces over and joins in the group huggin'* (^_^)
Aye, hope ye feelin' better soon Finwa!

DougFungus |

Damieka, it looks to me like your character is still level 1. Could you please boost yourself up to Level 2. If you'd like me to do this for you just let me know.
Also, Samara and Nicea, you have spots on your character sheets that say you are Level 1 and other spots that say Level 2. Can you please fix this.
Thanks
