Oh man, I totally forgot that you generally can't spend 1/2 your WBL on one item (which Jorn's Masterwork Full Plate very much is! 1650g is no bargain D: ).
There was another gestalt game I applied for, and that GM let us take 2 Favored Class Bonuses per level (one from each class). I don't know if that's a standard gestalt thing or it was just their houserule, but I wanted to ask, just in case.
Other than that, all of my crunch is done, and now I begin the fluff!

Considering that much of the crunch is pulled from what kind of person my character is, what he can do, and how he does it, and the act of "coming up with fluff" is mostly just putting it to paper, nah, not really.

Bhenitia was created for another gestalt game but wasn't selected. She was built with a 20 pt buy, so I'd need to adjust that.
Bhenitia was born to a human cleric of Nerithia, one of the minor demigods. Her father was a half-celestial son of Nerithia. She grew up in Nerithia's main temple, a fort like retreat deep in the mountains of Meiren. Nerithia is the Demigodess of Meditation. Not a lot of call for such demigodesses, people always want the Demigodess of the Hunt, or the Demigodess of Wrath, or of Lust (she's especially popular).
Nerithia, a Lawful Neutral goddess, never expected to have a Paladin, especially her own grand-daughter. But Bhenitia grew up in that temple, studying the precepts of meditation and peace, taking up one of the zen arts, in her case, Archery. It had been expected she'd be a Cleric, like her mother and father, but instead Bhenitia found that martial pursuits and helping others were more her life work, and after 70 years of life in the Temple, she finally took her leave when she was old enough, and began to travel the world, finding those in need, helping them, and using her archery training and calm manner to spread a slightly different view of her grand-mother. One her grand-mother is not quite sure she should encourage.
Background would obviously need to be modified slightly, and I'd need to drop her to level 3 rather than 6 and boost the stat buy, but I think it gives a good idea of the character.

I'm going to shamelessly spend 2500 on building a single barreled shotgun. I briefly considered using This Archetype instead of slayer to make it even more crazy but I decided even in an extra planar city there were not likely any deities with a shotgun as a favored weapon.

Background:
Scintillate is an Aasimar who found her way to Auralis, when she was a young woman of mearly 60 years. Her intuitive gifts soon earned her many important connections. She was incredibly beautiful, and a superb listener. It wasn't long before she found funding to open a successful business in the City of Stars.
She is 'The' holistic healer of sexual dysfuction for the cities denizens. She has become known throughout the city as the premier authority on relationship rescue and repair. True sexual relations are rarely necessary except in the most extreme cases. The vast majority of her new and invented profession's time is spent healing mind, body, and spirit to open a person or couple to sensual joys.

Well, you mentioned funding for a successful business... implying Scintillate would not be an employee at an odd-jobs place handling various different (and often dangerous) tasks. I like the character, but I'm not sure she would fit in every well with the campaign - though you are welcome to submit a second character if you'd still like to try and get in!

I had thought the debt would be the hook needed. Either she owed Abals directly or they bought the debt to secure her services. And as rewarding as being the city's version of Viagra is, she could easily be ensared if given a greater purpose. I saw her as the party investigator/interrogator and support. I saw her as being pregnant with RP possibilities.
Just so I understand, You are looking for PCs who are semi-optimized combat oriented for this adventure?

Here's my submission, Yamajii the Elder, Mighty Godling/Monk. Would love some feedback. Given that he's old (early 70's) most of his life was spent not on/in Auralis, but on the prime material. His arrival in Auralis marked a new phase in his life, and he eventually wound up working for Abal's Agency.
I took some liberties creating a goddess for his mother, let me know if that's alright.
Appearance and Personality
Yamajii appears as an old, bald white man with a full, white beard going hanging down past his chest. He wears a simple set of orange monk robes designed to allow him freedom to practice his martial arts in. He carries little in the way of belongings and is seldom seen partaking of food or drink. While often quiet, he is quite amiable, and always willing to offer advice, wisdom or help when asked.
Story
Yamajii was born and raised in what he believed to be a normal family out in a small farming village out in the middle of nowhere. His family was poor but happy, and they never wanted for the basics despite having little in the way of possessions. He aided in tending the farm until his early twenties, when his father passed away. After his funeral, his mother took Yamajii aside and told him that she would be leaving, and that it was time for him to leave as well. She revealed herself to be the avatar of the Goddess Yuki who ruled over the moon, prophecies and personal enlightenment. She told him that one day he would be permitted to join her in her realm, but that he would need to achieve his own enlightenment before then. That day was the last time he saw her. He wandered for a time, travelling from town to town as a ascetic, begging for food and spending his time meditating on the task before him. In time he came to a mountain temple where he took residence and began to hone his body as well as his mind.
In the subsequent decades he learned quite a bit, but still felt something was missing. One night, while meditating in front of a small pool, he pondered the moon's reflection in the water. As he continued studying it, its form seemed to waver and expand, opening to reveal a shimmering city beyond it. Standing, he was amazed to find that the reflection didn't move, instead the vision of the city remained fixed on the water's surface. As he studied it he began to see movement beyond, lights flickering and moving among the city streets in the distance. Transfixed by the image he stepped forward unconsciously and found the water's surface bore his weight. Without hesitation he walked forward and down through the opening, appearing on a ledge looking down on the city. As he set foot on the ground he turned to see the moon rising behind him, a vision of his former temple fading on its surface.
While he initially believed he had been called to Yuki's realm, he soon discovered he was instead in Auralis, the city of Stars. Having no belongings and little to do, he spent his first few years there learning about the city and its denizens. He would often travel to the bluffs overlooking the city to meditate and to work on his martial techniques. He also spent a considerable amount of time aiding others in the city and solving disputes when he could.
It was this fact that caught the attention of Abal's Agency. He had interacted with several of their agents during his decade in the city and eventually they inquired if he would be interesting in aiding them. In truth, while Yamajii enjoyed his meditation and time alone, he had begun to miss the comeradery he had found during his time at the temple. Eager to be among others again, he presented himself for his enterance examination and was accepted into the Agency. Finally feeling at home, Yamajii considers himself to be a caretaker of the younger and less experienced in the group, and goes out of his way to aid others when he can.

@Scintillate: Something along those lines. Combat will certainly occur on a fairly regular basis, though other abilities (investigative, intellectual, etc.) will also come into play. What I'm looking for is a solid group of characters who can cover each other's weaknesses to help them take on a wide variety of tasks - most of which will be at least somewhat dangerous, and will test the characters in different ways.

Having an early life outside of Auralis is entirely fine - part of the reason for starting the campaign after everyone's been inside of it for awhile is giving them a good reason to know basic information and be established enough to actually receive jobs, rather than being vagabonds who stumbled in more-or-less by chance. ^^ Everything else - background and stats like - seem good for now. I'll be doing my full consideration later.

Miyoko was born a native of Tian Xia. His mother was a servant to a noble family. She was a mistress to the head of the family. She hid the pregnancy until Miyoko was born. She did not wish to dishonor the master so she had to leave Miyoko on the doorstep of a local temple. The monks took the boy in and raised him.
Miyoko proved to be a difficult youth. He preferred to play and goof off instead of studying and practicing. When he was sixteen he ran away from the temple taking what knowledge he had learned with him. With no money and no job he resorted to fighting for money. His teachings had paid off and he became quite good at fighting in the pits.
He soon was approached by a woman named Remel. She offeed a job to Miyoko. He was to travel with here to a place called Auralis. He would work for her there. He easily passed the given exam and now stands as one of her best investigators. He has a friendly rivalry with Gareth, and has a bit of a crush on Mila. He has requested to work with her multiple times.

I’m fine if you want to rule the Wis bonus doesn’t stack until they FAQ it. Yeah, looks like it. The advanced template is probably the most powerful single "level" to gestalt with, and it just gets stronger the more stats you need.

Ticus came from a long line of folk that had lived in harmony with the natural world. As a young lad he would often be found traipsing off into the woods on his own for days and weeks.
Eventually, one of his trips brought him within site of a large city. This did not bode well for Ticus. Unprepared for urban life, he wandered about until he came upon a school bordering a large park. Approached by a druidic instructor, he was offered tutelage and spent several years developing into a burgeoning protector of nature.
After school he joined the city guard, his time in school paid by service to the city. It was while with the guard that he continued to learn valuable skills that would stand him well.
Especially that fateful day when he was chasing a local gang leader through the back alleys of the slums. He isn't sure what happened, but when he woke up he found himself lying on a couch in a land of perpetual dusk.
"Good evening, 'course it's always evening here. Your remaining years with the guard were purchased by Abel's Agency. We pay better, you get to see the worlds. And we have more fun." said the young tiefling, a pastry in one hand.
Crunchy parts:
Half-Celestial is a template that scales from +1 to +3. At 3rd it is a +1 template, adding another +1 at 6th, and the 3rd at 11th level. Does this work for you?
If so, a half-celestial peri-blooded aasimar. Classes are druid and currently tossing wizard and rogue back and forth.
