"I dont think the wall is real Inle... some sort of magical image perhaps. The real question is... why is it there."
He began watching Sialea put her hand thought the wall.
Sialea |
Sia shook her head, "It's not magical," she said, "it's technological. Some kind of non-magical illusion." She Looked back at Celen and held a hand out, "I'm sticking my head in there to see what is on the otherside. Pull me back if something seems to be trying to pull me through." She waited for someone to grab hold of her and then stuck her head through and looked into whatever space was behind the illusion.
GM_Ironcat |
Sialea discovers that, past the illusion, the cave continues for another 15 feet before stopping at a grey, circular disc in the wall--it looks identical to the entrance to the habitat module from the skulk village. Above the door is a glowing teal rectangle covered by a skymetal grate. It appears to be what's creating the rock wall illusion.
Inlé |
When Sialea mentions her plan Inlé's eyes widen and immediately runs over and grabs her by the leg. At first he was just going to haul her away from the cave completely but when he realized nothing bad had happened to her hand he halted, still keeping a firm grip on the women in case she needed to be hoisted to safety.
Sialea |
Pulling back Sialea said, "It looks like the door that lead from the skulk village, there is a metal plate that has a glow and seems to be making the illusion." She considered, "I want to take a look at that plate, if I can figure out how to bring it with us it might be useful. I'm also curious as to what is on the other side of that door."
Sialea |
Sia considered the bunny man's words and said, "It's worth a try, I guess I can comeback and mess with the panel later." She strolled forward to the doorway and looked through the key cards she carried. She decided to try the one that the maintenance machine responded to first, maintenance had to go everywhere after all, it might serve as a get through doors free card. She looked for a place to insert the card, or baring that, just held it up before the door to see if it worked.
GM_Ironcat |
Sialea slides one of the brown keycards into the slot. There's a small *beep*, followed by some sort of mechanical growl.
"Η πρόσβαση εγκρίθηκε." A monotone, distorted voice says before the card is released. The circular doors slide open, recessing into the surrounding wall.
The metal room beyond is brightly lit by glowing panels in the ceiling above. To the left and right, complex machines consisting of spiral tubes and nozzles twitch and hum. Another door is on the far wall, with an identical panel to the one outside sitting next to it.
Inlé |
Yay! I autobeat that!
Inlé's eyes widen a bit when the card apparently works, they widen even more as the door opens to reveal the other room. Letting out a whistle he steps up to the doorway. "Wow..."
Looking at the machinery lining the walls he furrows his brow before taking a cautious step back. "I may not be the best with machines, but I don't think those are doing what they're supposed to."
Celen |
"This might hurt."
He began stepping forward way away from anyone else. He didnt want the electrical charges to arc to any others.
"Who knows machines? would draining their charge turn them off?"
He asked calmly.

Knowledge (Engineering): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Inlé hops back at Edynn's shout, his mind unfortunately racing from the sudden adrenaline surge.
Sialea |
Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Sialea looked on in fascinated fear at the arching electricity and realized that she was pretty sure that she knew what to do. She stepped forward and grabbed at Celen to pull him back and said, "Don't, I think I can re-wire the machinery so that it doesn't discharge at all." She then moved towards the machinery cautiously as she looked for where to start.
disable device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
EDIT: added the right skill type and modifier to the roll.
Sialea |
Sialeas moved in on the machines, carefully keeping the bulk of one between herself and the other one, until she reached a panel. She'd seen similar before and worked on popping the panel open before she could delve into the wiring. Fortunately for her the panel was of a type she'd seen before and she was able to get into the machine with little effort before she began to mess around with it's internal wiring. As she prodded she pulled a tool kit from her pack, one that she had grabbed from home before heading in here, glad that she had the foresight to do so.
From the corrected roll in my last post I have a Disable Device of 20 for this attempt.
Inlé |
Aid Another: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Inlé's eyes go wide as Sialea walks back into the room and begins to tinker with the panel and wiring. Quickly hopping after her he catches on to what she is up to and, while having more experience with robots than other types of technology, does his best to assist when he notices something familiar.
GM_Ironcat |
Sia and Inlé tinker with the device, but it appears quite complicated--the duo have some idea of where to begin, but it appears that their current efforts at repairing the machine are insufficient. The electricity is building up to dangerous levels--a discharge is imminent!
You may either try another Disable Device check now, or clear the room before the electricity goes off.
Sialea |
Sia looked to Enle and said simply, "Run." Suiting her actions to her words the exotic woman ran back to the others and said, "Out!" Moving back through the doorway.
Inlé |
"You didn't have to tell me! You could have just started running!" Inlé calls out to the psychic as they haul fur and flesh out of there.
GM_Ironcat |
Just as the others make it out of the room, the machine makes a loud *BUZZ* and a burst of electricity floods the room, sending blue streaks of lightning arcing into the walls!
Sparks continue to fly from the machine as more electricity begins to build...
Inlé |
His appearance taking on a more rotund shape with all the static filling the environment making his fur stand on end he turns to Sialea. "Wanna try again?"
Celen |
Is there a conduit we can pull to stop it from making the lightning?
So is there a plug we can see, I do want to remind everyone while im sure this thing hurts, I have 7 points or electrical resistance to toss into shutting this down, hence the question about soaking it.Durn Aasimar
Sialea |
Sia looked in at the building charge again as the tips of her hair started floating from the static buildup in the room. She didn't like the looks of the charge and said,"Let's give it a minute to see if it arcs again, maybe there is a pattern that we can use."
Sialea |
Relieved at her restraint Sia said, "Inle, let's go." She made her way back to the open panel and began looking for the right wires to re-route or disable. She bit back a curse in a fluid language that had undertones of elven but was most definitely something else as she felt a jolt of electricity shoot up her arm.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Disable Device (again if allowed and safe): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
GM_Ironcat |
Both of Sialea's efforts fail to yield any positive results--her first attempt causes a shock to run up her arm as she accidentally crosses the wrong wire.
Electrical Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
You'll have two more opportunities before the machine discharges again.
This applies to Inlé as well--two checks, and two more before it goes off again.
Sialea |
Determined to make this work Sialea bent herself to the task of fixing the machine.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
She kenw she was getting down to the wire as she messed up again and decided that it was all or nothing now, she was going to make this work.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
But in her haste she failed once more and realized that she might not get clear in time as she began to flee for the exit once more.
Oh, baddaybaddaybaddAYYY!
Inlé |
Sorry, I have to sleep sometimes :3
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
