Try to sense the closest stone and go to it.
Eye of the Heavens |
The stone wash over your consciousness and you reach out with it. The resonating echo of the stone to the SE comes through clearly. It appears to be on the other side of the spur of the Aspodell mountains in front of you; near or at Citadel Dinyar. Your choice again is whether to traverse the mountains or go around.

Most of your pursuers appear to be casting their net much further away and you are zigging as they are zagging. Your pestering mage also appears to be running low at things to throw at you and you make it most of the way through the day without incident.
However, there are other dangers in the wild besides the ones you know.
You see a pair of huge 'fins' made of thick leather churning through the ground ahead of you. They are approaching your position at an alarming pace.

The pair of armor-plated creatures burst from the earth, their toothy maws gaping wide with fin-like dorsal plates rising between their shoulders. The larger of the pair flies into the air and pounces down upon you, raking with all four claws. The other holds back for a moment to avoid interfering with this maneuver, it appears as if they are a mated pair. This might help explain the lack of other creatures you have seen during the last day or two as you are likely in their hunting range.

You make your way towards the tower and the wall guards and others on patrol appear to be completely oblivious to your presence.
The tower is several stories tall and it looks like the majority of entrances must be on the inside that attaches to the main hall of the Citadel. There is, however, a single exterior door that looks well secured.
Anglachel Gurthang |

You quickly make your way to the top of the tower, peeking in at some of the windows to see inhabitants eating, reading, and otherwise passing their evenings away. You make it to the top portion of the tower and note that there is an armored man on watch, slowly circling the top of the structure, looking out into the bailey and sometimes beyond the walls into the wilds.
Anglachel Gurthang |
Is there an entrance into the tower here? Detect evil. Does Ang think this man has the stone?
Anglachel Gurthang |
How big is the top of the tower? Is it likely the guard could be distracted and the trap door opened without notice?
Anglachel Gurthang |
Were there windows on the level where Ang sensed the stone?
