Talking and activating the mote are both free actions (maybe the latter is swift?), so I think you're good to go for a standard or move.

what's the rule on stealing a weapon in starfinder... in pf it would be cmb vs cmd, but is it sleight of hand in sf? Eekz wants to acquire a weapon from the nearest king

just in case it's slt of hand:

As much as I'd love for Arc to get an extra attack, forming Solar armor is a move action and activating a called weapon is a swift.

@Eekz: Steal is now part of the grapple combat maneuver :< But if you want to steal something they're already wielding, you can disarm them (disarm combat maneuver) and catch the weapon with a free hand. Combat maneuvers are now regular attack rolls vs. KAC+8.

Grix turns his head in apparent confusion at the sound from outside, and when he turns it back to Ferani he says "I've decided that you DO know. And that you'll tell us. Before you're blown up, that is." The threat comes out fairly casually. Sorry all. 12 hour work days plus a 2 year old are killing me. I can't wait for this month to be over... Let's see here, to keep this clean and without cluttering too much, I'm going to drop things into spoiler boxes, but definitely open them.

Answer OOC Questions:

Grix is right. Pays to look up the rules. Manifesting solar armor is a move. So... sorry!

Eekz, looks like that would be a Disarm combat maneuver:

Disarm (p246)
You knock an item the target is holding out of the target’s
hands and onto the ground. If you have a hand free, you can
automatically grab the item with your hand before it falls.

Spectre, none visible but they're likely in the smoke grenade's cloud.

Actions so far (surprise round):

Spectre: Move forward
Ted: Communicate over comms
Arc: Manifest Armor, call weapon
Eekz: Disarm a King? Just want to confirm.
Grix: Cast Fear

Outside, Spectre moves towards the smoke grenade's cloud while Ted calls over comms, "Eekz! The strawberry is delivered. Do you need more berries?"

Inside, Arcalinte summons his armor and weapon while Grix casts a spell upon the woman. Her eyes go wide in panic as she suddenly pushes back in her chair but slams up against the wall behind her, eyes darting to either side like a cornered hare.

Eekz... Just confirm you want to try a Combat Manuever to Disarm the King on the other side of the door. I had just randomly plopped your tokens, so we can treat you as still being in the open doorway adjacent to the closest King.

Yep, no worries Snow! One question you missed: is the big vesk currently armed? Is it armed with the rifle/cannon in its art?

Also, ZALGO YES! :D

Grix erupts into a dry giggle at deciding what Ferani feels. "KE KE KHE KHE-" He turns to peer at the vesk, pondering what the vesk wants to do.

I'll wait on casting a spell until Eekz takes his action for the surprise round and we find out if a followup disarm is needed.

Hope all had a Merry Christmas or happy holiday! Alright, let's see here...

Eekz, I'll use the d20 you rolled for SoH for the disarm check.

Grix, yes, the Vesk is armed with a very large rifle, specifically an azimuth artillery laser. He also has an assault hammer.

Combat Maneuver Rules wrote:
For each maneuver, choose an opponent within your reach (including your weapon’s reach, if applicable) and then make a melee attack roll against the opponent’s KAC + 8.

Eekz manages to just barely relieve the King on the other side of the door of his laser pistol, the man's mouth agape in surprise.

I'll give Eekz and Ted a little longer to post an update. With the holidays and everything, things are slow for folks. But I will aim to bot him later today if necessary.

The vesk's grip on his weapon loosens slightly as Grix's voice resonates with power, but ultimately the soldier overcomes the urge to disarm himself, tightening his grip on the rifle even as he brings it up to fire.

Outside, Spectre's gamble comes up snake eyes. The King growls at him and seems to be drawing a club from his waist.

sorry, need to consult map to determine what to do next... okay, update: consulted the map and it doesn't look up to date - I thought eekz and Grix were in a separate room from the others, and kinda need to know the layout before posting an action... and get a clue from Grix (either a post, or some indication through body language or something as to what he intends to do... Eekz basically wants to use the disarmed weapon to threaten the fellow who lost it... or outright attack him, depending on Grix's action. Does that all make sense?

Not quite sure what you mean Eekz, plus the map looks up to date to me. Here's what I understand the plan to be right now:

The three of us were admitted to the room with Ferani and the vesk guard, so we're all together. Snow allowed you to disarm the guard right outside that room (the one to your SE), so Grix used his Command to attempt to disarm the vesk in the NE of the room (sadly, that failed). I'd say we should focus fire the vesk while Ferani is feared, then knock her unconscious and fight our way out with Spectre and Ted.

Happy New Year!

PCs' Actions:
Spectre: Bluff
Arc: Attack
Ted: Magic Missile
Eekz: Intimidate
Grix: Cast Command

Spectre tries to bluff his way through the front door but, when the King seems highly suspicious at the exceedingly rapid response from a "security robot" that doesn't have any of the markings of Absalom Station Security, Ted blasts off a series of magic missiles that pepper the thug.

Inside, Arc leaps to the attack, cutting the vesk soldier with the starknife that appeared from nowhere. Eekz tries to intimidate the thug he just disarmed, but the man's outrage at being humiliated seems to outweigh his sense of self preservation. Grix tries to force the Vesk to drop his weapon, but without success.

Ferani is too terrified to fight, stumbling out of her chair and trying to back up into the corner. She draws a semi-automatic pistol but does not shoot as it seems nobody is threatening her personally. Her vesk bodyguard, despite initially refusing to release his weapon in response to Grix's spells, nonetheless does drop his rifle, draws his hammer, and swings at Arcalinte. The blow strikes with a sickening crunching sound.

The rest of the Kings prove far less capable, however, clearly rattled by the chaos and confusion. One swings a club at Eekz, missing the goblin and slamming into the door frame, while the others fire off a pair of poorly aimed shots. Outside, the guard with Spectre draws a club and swings and only barely manages to connect with a glancing blow, while the other continues to stumble about somewhere in the smoke grenade's cloud.

Arc takes 8 points of damage. Spectre takes 4 points (nonlethal).

Heroes, go!

@Ted: Much like in pathfinder, there's a difference between 1 round casting time and full round casting time, where its 1 round casting times and longer that go off at the start of your turn. Magic Missile is a full round cast when making 3 missiles, and the missiles launch immediately rather than at the beginning of your next turn.

While Grix seems momentarily tempted to fire away, the vicious attack against Arc makes him think twice about that particular risky move. Instead he steps back (Guarded step) and gets some distance. Belial's Maps; Dispater's Maps

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Here we go...

PCs' Actions:

Spectre: Attack - hit (concealment; miss)
Ted: Magic Missile
Grix: Pick up weapon and guarded step
Eekz: Shoot - hit
Arcalinte: Attack - miss

Arc, Grix is correct. This is round 2.

Eeks, since a ranged attack from that location will trigger an AoO, I'm going to assume you just slam the door and try to lock it.

Spectre fires his laser rifle at the King near the door. He's sure it's a solid hit but the whirling smoke from the grenade obscured the King's location enough to send the shot wide, slamming into the building. However, Ted follows up with another round of magic missiles and this drops the King with a clatter of armor and weapons. The remaining bystanders in the area begin fleeing wildly, screaming and ducking from weapons fire they're convinced is directed at them.

Back inside, Arc swings his starknife at the Vesk but it's deflected by the brute's armor. Grix picks up the dropped rifle and carefully steps back, avoiding the vesk's attacks.

Eekz waves the pistol wildly, threatening to shoot the King opposite him in the nethers, but instead slams the door shut in the surprised King's face. He looks around for some controls to lock the door and then randomly blasts something that looks like it might work.

Vrok snarls when Grix encourages him to surrender, the suggestion just seeming to enrage the bodyguard. He swings his assault hammer at Arcalinte once more, this time aiming for the half-elf's head. The blow connects with a sickening thud.

Ferani still looks too scared to take action but, seeing Vrok at work, her spine seems to be stiffening.

10 points of bludgeoning damage!

Ferani will be back in action next round.

Am I able to TAKE the serum, or does Grix have to administer it to me?

Ted's top returns spinning in front of him. He grabs it and runs after Spectre, shouting, "Be careful, Spec, anything could be in there."

@Arc: Unless I've missed something, you're at 0 HP and therefore unconscious and dying and not in shape to take serums. I'll try to administer it to you next round (unless the vesk saved successfully... in which case things could be even dicier). If you were conscious, I assume you'd be able to take the serum from me as a move action, at least I've always seen it done that was in Pathfinder, and that part of the rules is seemingly written the same.

That's exactly it. I think I'm unconscious. Please correct me if that's not the case.

PCs' Actions:

Arcalinte: Snore
Grix: Cast Fear
Spectre: Double Move into building
Ted: Run
Eekz: Botting

Grix watches Arcalinte go down then turns to the vesk, "You there skhaly, you're going to decide to r͓̗̙̠̙̭u̢͖̳͔͈̮̪̻n̟̩̩ ͢i͟n͏͈ ̴f̶̦̲̰̣̦̹ea̸͓͙͙̯̫̱͇r̩̤̼͚̳! This woman is leading you to a horrible death, and you're getting out while you're still in one piece." The vesk's sneer of defiance turns to quaking terror, something in the shirren's voice resonating with something primal. He takes off running to the far corner, practically shoving Ferani out of his way and into the desk.

Eekz studies the door for a fraction of a second and, hearing the Kings on the other side pounding on it, decides it's probably locked so he turns and fires the pistol at Ferani. He lands a solid blow, blasting away a chunk of her armor. "Not your balls but me now aim for face!"

Ferani snarls and raises her autopistol. One of her eyes seems to flash with an electronic reticle, and she then fires at the goblin. His nimbleness serves him well for what could have been a devastating shot turns into a glancing blow.

Eekz takes 3 points of damage.

Eekz and Grix hear continued banging on the other side of the door and muffled voices yelling, "Boss! Open the door! Open the door!"

Outside, Spectre and Ted press and push against the tide of patrons fleeing the violence. Spectre manages to make it through the doors and finds it's hard to hear anything over the chaos of screaming civilians and music still thumping along despite the absence of the DJ.

Spectre, DC 20 Perception:
You can hear the sounds of three men yelling on the other side of the double doors to the west.

Ted, DC 15 Perception:
You hear the sound of someone coughing and vomiting to the west.

Heroes, go!

GM's Rolls:

"Spec! One of the guards is over there!" Ted points frantically to the West. "I'll subdue him before he gets back on his feet."

Ted heads to the West, with pistol drawn, in an attempt to compel the sickened guard to drop his weapons.

Arcalinte, blood dripping into his eyes, somehow manages to wonder if this is it...if the enlightenment he thought he was seeking was merely death.

Someone save me!

Grix kneels and injects Arc with a healing serum, returning him to consciousness! He quickly sends to the half-elf "Up and at 'em! We've got a few moments while my magic has the vesk frightened."

Healing Serum mk1: 1d8 ⇒ 6

With all the patrons trying to get past him, Spectre doesn't hear the guard Ted can hear.

The droid surveys the establishment. Being able to see most of it from his vantage point, he still can't see his new companions.

"I do not see our allies," he intones. "Perhaps we need to get through these doors."

perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 I didn't make the check to hear the guards, but standing where I am and not seeing any of our friends, I think it's a good assumption I need to try the doors.

Spectre moves up to the double doors and attempts to open them.

Arcalinte is snapped out of his self-indulgent musings by Grix's telepathic pep-talk.

"Thank you! I'm gonna back away from this guy. I was so eager to play hero that I didn't take advantage of its capabilities. Stupid."

He gets up and throws his starknife at Ferani.

Starknife Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18; Starknife Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

After the spinning blade strikes the gangster, it seems to transform into pure light and then winks out of existence before re-materializing in Arcalinte's hand with a similar flash of light.

So, now that work is settling down, my head cold seems to have morphed into a sinus infection. Will try to keep up the posting over the weekend but...

PCs' Actions:

Ted: Move and look for guard
Grix: Heal Arc
Spectre: Move and open doors
Arc: Stand and ranged attack
Eekz: Double shot

Grix manages to get Arcalinte back on his feet, though his ears are still ringing from the vesk's hammer blow. Nonetheless, he quickly manages to toss his starknife and injure Ferani while she's distracted by trying to kill the goblin.

Eekz, perhaps infused by some of his ancestors' affinity for lighting things afire, begins rapid firing at Ferani. One shot lands another strike on the woman, while the second goes wild, sizzling into the wall above the cowering vesk's head.

Ferani winces from the twin blows and tries to take cover behind the desk while continuing to fire at Eekz. Her blast grazes the gobo's shoulder.

Eekz takes another 2 points, now at a total of 5 damage.

Outside, Ted finds the last of the door guards stumbling away to the west, losing himself in the crowd. Hearing the sounds of gunfire from inside the club, he seems to have no interest in a further fight.

Spectre opens the door to find three Kings clustered around a door on the north wall, a couple of them banging on it. Almost as one, they turn towards the door Spectre just opened, starting at him for a moment before they see his weapon, then they run for cover.

GM's Rolls:

Eeks: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 4 = 11 1d4 ⇒ 2
Eeks: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 4 = 3
Ferani: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 If it hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Ted grins at the fleeing guard and returns to the club. He grabs a frag grenade from under his cloak but doesn't get a chanc, yet, to throw it. "That guard won't be coming back here anytime soon, Spec. What did you find over here? Where are the others?"

Ted thumbs on his com link, "Eekz! Eekz! We're in the club. Where are you?"

Grix overhears Ted's question over comms and rasps "We're fighting, big boss, bakh room, west side! Need your help! There's a veskh bodyguard here that almost khilled Arc! Door in is khlosed, guards trapped outside." The quick plea for help is broken up by a hiss.

Grix fumbles for a bit with his borrowed weapon. Despite not being trained in such large weapons, he manages to find the trigger and sends a beam or shot of >something< towards the dastardly Ferani.

Some kind of longarm? Non-proficient attack roll: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 = 6

I'm out of spell juice and my 0th levels are purely utility rather than combat. BTW, what's the damage on this weapon, assuming I manage to hit something with it in the future?

Spectre watches as the three Kings turn on him. "I was just...investigating...the...strawberry drinks...ah...forget it," the droid says as he discharges his weapon in the general direction of three thugs, missing them entirely, then takes cover opposite Ted.

"This has gone...how do you say it? 'Pear shaped?'"
