I think we are definitely finding our stride as a group. Now I plan on giving the climactic "Saving Private Ryan" speech to the survivor. We let a badass Worg go to let you live. Better live a good life and make us proud. Maybe we cast Matt Damon as the survivor in the movie.

Sorry about the "curse" word guys. I've done some dog training over the years, and I forgot the autocorrect would take the negative meaning.
And I rarely actually get face to face with my charges, at least not at first meeting. That comes after a few hours of familiarity. Still, its important to establish those dominance lines, to bring a dog into your pack, or to insert yourself into theirs.

Thad: You start a campaign and set up the 'Campaign Info' tab. The under 'Edit this Campaign' down at the bottom there is a list of all of the various alias' that have posted. From there you have the ability to check them as active and/or NPC's which makes them appear in the lower list of the 'Characters' tab. I just happened to discover it poking around one day.

lol. We're whippin out our honeybadgers this early in the thread?
Thad Tanner
I think we got our NPCs mixed up...
Gregor Meyerson (GM): Male, human, 18 years old, militia training
Mikhail Meyerson (MM): Male, human, 2 years old
Two year old Mikhail, starts to cry. His expression of fright seems fitting after hearing such an otherworldly call.
The children and settlers are all quickly accounted for at Tityanna's request. This is until Mikhail Meyerson suddenly takes off to the southwest
I'll switch to referring to 'Gregor' as the one who rode into the ambush.

Seeing Thad easily snatch the coin out of the air, and then do a quick trick with it, she visibly relaxes and offers a bright smile to the knight.
You have no idea how tempting it was to have Thad flinch away from the coin and act as though it had burned him. I gave it serious thought, and was halfway to coming up with a good in-character justification... :)

@All: This is my first time running a paladin focused on archery, can anyone offer insight on what my most effective feat progression might be? Right now I'm not sure whether to take mounted archery first, or go directly for point blank shot --> precise shot/rapid shot/manyshot. I really don't want to dip into fighter levels, but the limited feat slots are forcing a tough choice...
Tityanna Medvyed
Uhm, well, I think I can help you there. My husband made a "samur-alid-onk" for our Serpent Skull TT. He was a switch hitter samurai-themed paladin, and found use for the flurry of blows from a single level dip in the Zen Archer Monk archetype.
But, I would say if you're going to dip, leave it at that. There's no greater force against evil than a single class paladin, and your auras are also going to be a huge benefit. Heck, being an archer paladin, it would be great if Thad and Tityanna get along well, because they both should be hanging out at the back of combat together.
Warren Kingeagle
Thad, I love the concept. Auras on arrows can be the theme.
My experience is rate of fire is important. The dip Tityanna mentioned gives you that and WIS bonus to AC (as a GM I disallow it in armor, but RAW does not say it has any limits).
My only problem with "flurry of bows" is that at high levels it gets in the way of your full multiple attacks which a full BaB character will get to at level 6 and does not stack with rapidshot. At level 6 you can use rapid shot with a full attack.
Maybe a two level dip in ranger to get rapidshot without prereq and a favored enemy? Not to mention the skills (6+INT). And you still stay full Bab.
If you want to truly multiclass, the archer fighter archetype isn't amazingly good, but add it to the fighter feats I can see five levels being worthwhile at least. Weapon specialization is a good feat, and it stacks with manyshot and deadly aim well.
Thad Tanner
Huh. Zen Archer. I hadn't thought of that... I could see dipping a level or two around 5th and having it work out well. With a two level dip at 6/7 my feat progression would look like this:
1. Mounted Combat
2. Mounted Archery
4. Point Blank Shot (advance dex)
6. Rapid Shot
6. Manyshot
7. Precise Shot
8. Leadership? (advance str)
A two level dip offers the additional feat along with evasion and might be worth it. I could definitely see Thad learning a few things from Aliana, if the RP works out. Of course, we'll need to start carrying a *lot* more arrows if we go that route ;)
When wearing armor, using a shield, or carrying a medium or heavy load, a monk loses his AC bonus, as well as his fast movement and flurry of blows abilities.
Wouldn't I need to be unarmored to take advantage of the ranged flury of blows?
Warren Kingeagle
Undead make a great favored enemy for a paladin!
Your plan looks sound. Having rapidshot and manyshot at level 6 right when you get your multiple full attacks looks good.
If you dip right away you are firing two arrows from character level 3-5 too. You get favored enemy undead. At level 2 you get the privilege of using both paladin and ranger skills as class skills - not shabby either. I like deferring point blank shot till later as I don't see it as useful as lets say weapon focus composite longbow or mounted archery. With your second ranger level you get rapidshot without prerequisites.
Thad Tanner
Zen archer is a monk archetype, not ranger...
Since you mentioned it, I just noticed that the monk bonus feats state that you don't need to meet the prerequisites either, so I can hold off on point blank shot. Hmm, dipping at 3rd/6th would give:
1. Mounted Combat
2. Mounted Archery
3. Rapid Shot (zen archer bonus)
3. Perfect strike (bows) (zen archer bonus)
3. Stunning Fist (zen archer bonus) you never know...
4. Precise shot
6. Point blank shot (zen archer bonus)
6. Weapon focus: longbow (zen archer bonus)
6. Manyshot
8. Leadership?
I like the look of that. It does delay a few of the cool paladin abilities, but still keeps most of the flavor intact. It will also give fort/ref/will saves of +10/+8/+8 at 3rd level...
Oh, and umm... nice to meet you Jobo :P

Oops posted in the wrong thread, that is what happens when you try to have too many windows open at once.
I was suggesting a two level ranger dip over a one level Zen Archer dip.
Thad Tanner
Ah ok. I think the two level zen archer (3/6) option works out best overall, with the free weapon focus almost making up for the BAB loss. Ranger's biggest draw is that I would get my iterative attack at 6/11th level instead of waiting until 7/12th, along with favored enemy.
Overall I think monk is my best option, it gives rapid shot with my 3rd level along with the higher will save, evasion, 6(!) extra bonus feats (even if 2 of them are only for unarmed combat), and the monk class skills that cover most of what I'd want from ranger. I'll just have to keep my eyes open for an opportunity to RP some training with Aliana...

Just wanting to apologize for my absence. I am withdrawing from all my Campaigns due to a personal issue that has kept me from posting 'till now, and probably will for a while.
Thanks to everyone for the time I did have with ya'll, and good luck! To the DM, thanks for keeping my spot open so long. I appreciate it.

@Warren - do not taunt Claw Law lest you get your face ripped off. I have a couple editions of RM right here on my shelf...
Dolphin is entitled to medium bash attack per Animal Statistics Chart (p136 Arms Law). A maxed out medium bash does 10 B Unbalancing crit against armor type 7 (lifted from Alligator). Max unbalancing crit reads...
"Send foe flying 10'. He lands on his face. The twisting of his neck causes nerve damage. He is paralyzed from the waist down."
I just had a geekgasm.

@Luke - I have long time healer and mentalist characters that went through all the middle earth material. No better system for character development. The open ended system sure did cause some wild criticals. When the bad guys rolled a 66 critical against you--that was bad news.
@Zavac sorry to see you go. I need to find a new best friend.

Or a 66 roll on a critical fumble with a morning star. Holy knee cap!
I was always GM for our group doing Middle Earth homebrew. I thought the ICE stuff was awesome for background material, but never turned the corner in adventure development. I always made up my own plot.
Complete opposite of the Paizo approach.
Warren Kingeagle
Because combat was so involved in Rolemaster, you had to really push the story part. Plus it was more realistic, every arrow could kill rather than do a certain amount of damage. I still remember I had a goblin holding a wand of shock bolts and a level 6 paladin rushed him and the point black max critical fused his spine paralyzing him for life. Oh the days!
By the way, we are big UF and Tebow fans here in Melbourne, FL.

Ha! We have alot in common.
I grew up in Gainesville and went to college there. This year will be the first time in a long time I won't have season tickets. My son's soccer games on Saturday were the straw that broke that camel's back. It was already pretty tough driving from tampa bay every other weekend.
As far as Tebow is concerned - it sure would be alot easier for me to pull for him if he was playing in Miami or Tampa. But I was hollering for him like the old days in that game v the Steelers! I usually pull for defenses, but I think the confusion Tebow causes defenses (and often offenses!) is hilarious to watch.

Zavac: Sorry to see you go, hope everything works out okay.
Warren: I just kept it to double damage this time. I didn't have my RM charts handy when I posted the critical. I've got to remember to scan those so I can get them on my laptop. :)
As for current dolphin attitudes, I wouldn't recommend getting shipwrecked in the south sea anytime soon...
Luke: I still think the ICE supplements were the best for background material and I still pull bits and pieces from them every once in a while. Especially if I need something quickly. But you're right, it was pretty much necessary for DM's to come up with the actual plot's. This wasn't too much of a problem since I tend to do that anyway and I really liked having all of the location details filled in.
Tityanna: Glad you're back and there should be plenty of opportunity to take action shortly. *evil grin*

Sorry Zavac, missed checking this. I was looking forward to some interaction with your character. Hope all goes well; went through some tough patches awhile back myself. Stay strong. We're here if it helps.
For the others, I hope somebody has a horn they can blow, to coincide with Kams' bluff.

@Kams: Nice post! The rules for tieing someone up are actually based on your CMB.
