Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

Xrezth watches as Lucias as he examines the veil.

Kassen Battle Maps

Lucias pulls a set of lockpicks off the patch.
Hmm. Guess the guards do have something to worry about.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

Well isn't that something hmmmm? If you fellows don't mind I'm sure I could put those to good use...

Male Battle Dwarf 1/ Daredevil, Battle Skald Bard

Dogar's eyes light up as the lockpicks manifest and the prospect of his getting revenge on those who had betrayed him, and even those who hadn't yet, suddenly seems a very real possibility. Urging his fellow captives on he whispers "Yes! What'er yer gonna do, do it quickly now! Get me outta these damn cuffs and i'll help ye git free o' this damn prison!"

RETIRED Male

"It would be wise to refrain from yelling, lest we draw unwanted attention." RChir says in a hushed tone.

Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

Xrezth looks at the man next to her who just removed the picks from the veil.
Quietly she firmly asserts: Give me the veil back and give the lockpicks to the catman unless you are skilled at disabling locks.

She then looks over at the catman: Once you are free, you release me first, then the others. I will watch the door for any guards.

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

Lucias hands the lock picks to rengar.

Dashuun clears his throat, looking annoyed and impatient.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

You caught me on a good day, normally i'd just free myself and leave. But more people gives a better chance when there isn't a window to climb out of. Let's see what I can do here...
Disable Device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
I'm not familiar with these kind of picks, let me try this angle...
Disable Device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

Male Human Ranger 1 (Trapper) | AC 17(18) T 12 FF 16(17) | HP 12/12 | F +4 R +4 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +5 |

Dimral stares at the catman, waiting:"Seems like I won't need to break these chains after all"

Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

Xrezth stares at the catman: Our benefactor knows who we are. If you left, you would be found and the infernal powers are not as lenient on punishment as these Talingarde pansies.

Kassen Battle Maps

After the first attempt, you hear one of the guards say, "Wos dat a rat?" The tension is palpable, but nothing comes of the first failure. The second attempt just manages to get the shackles off of wrists and ankles.

Rengar:
As you examine the others' shackles. you notice that all the locks are the same. You get a +2 to Disable device checks on them. Oh if only the warden didn't seem so cheap.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

Bah there we are. Suppose i'm to free all six of you hmmmm? Be quiet, hold still, and let me do my work.
If I know I'll be making any sort of noise through my experience of picking locks, I'll cough to cover the sound. Also, I'll behaving the others and myself keep the bindings on but unlocked so any guard lookin in doesn't see free prisoners.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

If a guard comes in, Dashuun is prepared to fake a fit to draw the guards' attention.

if needed:
Dashuun fakes a choking fit, acting as though his gag is suffocating him.
bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Kassen Battle Maps

Rengar, I need a bluff check, and two more disable device checks, don't for get your +2.

Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

Once free, I continue to carefully listen for any guards.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

@ DM Salsa - Is this a walled cell with a door with a small barred window? Or can it be easily seen into?

Kassen Battle Maps

The former on the door. You'll have to get out to see inside, Fortunately, the door to your cell is locked. I'm quite certain that Talingarde need not fear your escape and the release of what ever may or may not be behind that door.

Xrezth:
You can't hear all of what's said, but from what you can catch you findout some interesting things. The guardsmen are fond of card games, so much so that several of the off duty, and on duty, guards have nightly games with Blackerly. Tsk Tsk, seems that maybe they should have spent more time on the job than honing their poker skills. You also find out that most of the guards think Blackerly is cheat (Oh how scandolous!), and that the warden is some sort of mage that can flay you alive, boil you eyeballs, and turn you into a smoldering pile of flesh bone and ash with a mere thought (I'm sure that this is a understatement, he could probably turn you inside out just by winking as well). The last thing you learn is that Blackerly provides libations of the cheap and plentiful sort.

But I'm sure that there'll be nothing to disturb this comfortable, if security lax routine.

Xrezth, Rengar, and Dogar all heal 4 nonlethal (It's been about 4 hours). Drimal heals 1 nonlethal. I'll let you know when another hour is up.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

Bluff 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Disable 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Disable 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
And of coarse I keep getting terribad rolls =/

Kassen Battle Maps

GM Screen:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
1d20 ⇒ 7

Go ahead and roll a set of four for the last two (8 rolls total.)

Male Human Ranger 1 (Trapper) | AC 17(18) T 12 FF 16(17) | HP 12/12 | F +4 R +4 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +5 |

Is Dimral free?

Kassen Battle Maps

Rengar, can I also get a list of who you would free first?

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

In order, Xrezth, Dogar, Dashuun, Dimral, Lucius, R'Chir.
Disable 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Disable 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Disable 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Disable 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Kassen Battle Maps

After about thirty minutes, and a few close calls, the seven of you are free of your shackles, but not the cell. It seems as through the Guards will have nothing to fear.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

Alrighty, once everyone is ready I'll pop this lock open. Might want to pull some weapons out of that cloth, you fellows may need them. Rengar flexes his very sharp claws out of the confines of his paws. I, on the otherpaw, should be fine.
I'll wait till everyone is prepared, then attempt to open the cell.
Disable 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Disable 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Disable 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
I keep rolling so low...

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

Lucias pulls off the gag and produces a wicked smile

"Finally, I'm free of the blasted gag. Others should take weapons, I have no need of them. I am ready"

RETIRED Male

"I am not particularly good with weapons. I will just follow you all and see where this leads."

"Give me a blade and I'll help you stay alive... at least until we're out the door." Dashuun hisses quietly.

Male Human Ranger 1 (Trapper) | AC 17(18) T 12 FF 16(17) | HP 12/12 | F +4 R +4 W +1 | Init +2 | Perc +5 |

"What kind of weapons have we got? Anyway, better to feign to still be prisonders and to jump on them when we draw them in"says the giant with a murderous look in his eyes

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

"I agree with the giant here. We should make some noise, and when the guards come in, we jump them. When they come in, I could charm one, and maybe we could get some information before we just break out." Lucias says with a sly look.

Male Battle Dwarf 1/ Daredevil, Battle Skald Bard

Shaking his limbs to get circulation back into them Dogar grins wickedly in eager anticipation of the bloodshed to soon ensue. Briefly glancing at the big barbarian he agrees "I'll take one o' them weapons. But yes, it may be better tae git them in here n' open tha cell door for us. Tha bottom line is, we want tae take 'em out without sounding tha alarm. Any o' you have a way we kin do that?"

Salsa, can you give us an idea on the map of where the guards are?

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

Lucias just smiles "As I said, I can simply charm a guard. They likely use a horn or some sort of call as an alarm, if I see a guard with a horn or some sort of alarm, I will charm him. He wouldn't sound the alarm on his friend, would he?"

RETIRED Male

"If possible, it would be quite helpful if one of you brutish sorts brought the body of anyone you happened to kill along with us on the way out. Just one body will suffice, but don't go killing anyone if we can escape easier without doing so."

Kassen Battle Maps

On the other side of the Cell block door.

GM screen:
1d20 ⇒ 8

Rengar also fails to open the door.

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

Rengar stops in the middle of picking the lock. Well I was thinking we could slip out of here quick and quiet like. Seems you fellows got a hankering for bloodshed, so I suppose we can pull those louts in here. Just make sure they don't make a noise. Believe it or not, most people don't like us 'catmen' as someone so aptly put it. My theory being that guards may not take kindly to me kicking the piss out of the smallest guy here...

Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

I would have said this earlier: We should wait until they come in. If we can wait until evening, from the voices that I have overheard, the guards enjoy their cards and that scum Blackerly readily provides a fair amount of booze.

Also, from the smidgen that I picked up, the warden is some type of a mage, so when we get to him, we proceed with care.

Now then, the benefactor that provided the veil, and what it holds, wants us to meet at a manor. And wants all of us there. If any of you leave, other than by death, I would not want to be on his wrong side.

So, lets get those who want them daggers. I prefer using my hands and feet. I will take the veil that was given to me. I imagine that the other items will be useful at some point, until then we take only what we need.

I think we should stay in the room and fake being secured. We wait until nighttime when the card game is going and the alcohol is flowing. Then, we either make a commotion to get one of them to come in and abuse us, or we unlock the door if nobody comes in.

Xrezth then looks around to see if anyone has another plan.

Also, there is something big in the next room. I do not know what, but if it is imprisoned here in this prison, then perhaps it can be used as an ally to help get us out of the prison.

RETIRED Male

"That plan sounds better."

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

I never was very good at planning ahead... Night time it is then hmmmm?

Sorry I misread this post. Your cell can be easily seen into, however the guards are outside the cell block through the door to the south. There is what appears to be a walled off section of the the cell block with a thick iron door that has a small slit to see through. I hope this clarifies the situation.

Also there are still two daggers, a sack, a star made of thorns, a lantern, a vial of something, a window, and a stack of coins still on the patch. I also goofed up. The picks are masterwork, so +2 to all disable device checks. (they are actually a masterwork set of thieves tools, so you can use them after this part if you like.)

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

"Sounds reasonable enough"

Male Catfolk Ninja 1

While we sit here, mind if I take a look at that cloth?

"Not much to work with... I can get by without a blade for now. And I'll follow to the manor. But I make no other promises to this miserable company."
Dashuun spits, then sits in his cell and tries to look shackled and gagged.
take 20 on bluff, so 29

Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

Look quickly. I do not want the guards to know we are free. Then we sit down and wait. If we are not out by midnight, that is when we make our way with the picks.

I give the veil to Rengar again.

Kassen Battle Maps

Okay, I'm using GM fiat here and saying that you arrived mid-day. it's currently 4 in the afternoon, So waiting until about 8 or 9 then?

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

That sounds about right

Xrezth the Discordant wrote:

Male Battle Dwarf 1/ Daredevil, Battle Skald Bard

"Good enough for me." Dogar grunts. He then takes one of the daggers and hides it under his leg as he sits, pretending like the others to still be shackled.

As thinks on and plots his revenge he occasionally chuckles quietly to himself

Female Human Monk of the Four Winds/1

I am not good with words and convincing others of the truth or falsity of what I say. Which of you would like to convince the guards that something is amiss herein?

Xrezth looks at the others attempting to discern which would be best to create a situation that would draw the guards ire.

Kassen Battle Maps

Okay, no one has any nonlethal when this goes down. Let's get this party started!

Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Infernal Bloodline)

"I know how to spin my words, though unless I am the only one, I do not think it should be me, as I should be gagged at the moment. They would know something is amiss."

RETIRED Male

"I've told a good deal of lies in my days. What would you have me tell them?"
