Lucias pulls a set of lockpicks off the patch.
Hmm. Guess the guards do have something to worry about.
Dogar the Wild |
Dogar's eyes light up as the lockpicks manifest and the prospect of his getting revenge on those who had betrayed him, and even those who hadn't yet, suddenly seems a very real possibility. Urging his fellow captives on he whispers "Yes! What'er yer gonna do, do it quickly now! Get me outta these damn cuffs and i'll help ye git free o' this damn prison!"
Xrezth the Discordant |
Xrezth looks at the man next to her who just removed the picks from the veil.
Quietly she firmly asserts: Give me the veil back and give the lockpicks to the catman unless you are skilled at disabling locks.
She then looks over at the catman: Once you are free, you release me first, then the others. I will watch the door for any guards.
Rengar |
You caught me on a good day, normally i'd just free myself and leave. But more people gives a better chance when there isn't a window to climb out of. Let's see what I can do here...
Disable Device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
I'm not familiar with these kind of picks, let me try this angle...
Disable Device 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
DM-Salsa |
After the first attempt, you hear one of the guards say, "Wos dat a rat?" The tension is palpable, but nothing comes of the first failure. The second attempt just manages to get the shackles off of wrists and ankles.
Rengar |
Bah there we are. Suppose i'm to free all six of you hmmmm? Be quiet, hold still, and let me do my work.
If I know I'll be making any sort of noise through my experience of picking locks, I'll cough to cover the sound. Also, I'll behaving the others and myself keep the bindings on but unlocked so any guard lookin in doesn't see free prisoners.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
DM-Salsa |
Rengar, I need a bluff check, and two more disable device checks, don't for get your +2.
DM-Salsa |
The former on the door. You'll have to get out to see inside, Fortunately, the door to your cell is locked. I'm quite certain that Talingarde need not fear your escape and the release of what ever may or may not be behind that door.
But I'm sure that there'll be nothing to disturb this comfortable, if security lax routine.
Xrezth, Rengar, and Dogar all heal 4 nonlethal (It's been about 4 hours). Drimal heals 1 nonlethal. I'll let you know when another hour is up.
DM-Salsa |
1d20 ⇒ 7
Go ahead and roll a set of four for the last two (8 rolls total.)
DM-Salsa |
After about thirty minutes, and a few close calls, the seven of you are free of your shackles, but not the cell. It seems as through the Guards will have nothing to fear.
Rengar |
Alrighty, once everyone is ready I'll pop this lock open. Might want to pull some weapons out of that cloth, you fellows may need them. Rengar flexes his very sharp claws out of the confines of his paws. I, on the otherpaw, should be fine.
I'll wait till everyone is prepared, then attempt to open the cell.
Disable 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Disable 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Disable 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
I keep rolling so low...
Dogar the Wild |
Shaking his limbs to get circulation back into them Dogar grins wickedly in eager anticipation of the bloodshed to soon ensue. Briefly glancing at the big barbarian he agrees "I'll take one o' them weapons. But yes, it may be better tae git them in here n' open tha cell door for us. Tha bottom line is, we want tae take 'em out without sounding tha alarm. Any o' you have a way we kin do that?"
Salsa, can you give us an idea on the map of where the guards are?
DM-Salsa |
On the other side of the Cell block door.
Rengar also fails to open the door.
Rengar |
Rengar stops in the middle of picking the lock. Well I was thinking we could slip out of here quick and quiet like. Seems you fellows got a hankering for bloodshed, so I suppose we can pull those louts in here. Just make sure they don't make a noise. Believe it or not, most people don't like us 'catmen' as someone so aptly put it. My theory being that guards may not take kindly to me kicking the piss out of the smallest guy here...
Xrezth the Discordant |
I would have said this earlier: We should wait until they come in. If we can wait until evening, from the voices that I have overheard, the guards enjoy their cards and that scum Blackerly readily provides a fair amount of booze.
Also, from the smidgen that I picked up, the warden is some type of a mage, so when we get to him, we proceed with care.
Now then, the benefactor that provided the veil, and what it holds, wants us to meet at a manor. And wants all of us there. If any of you leave, other than by death, I would not want to be on his wrong side.
So, lets get those who want them daggers. I prefer using my hands and feet. I will take the veil that was given to me. I imagine that the other items will be useful at some point, until then we take only what we need.
I think we should stay in the room and fake being secured. We wait until nighttime when the card game is going and the alcohol is flowing. Then, we either make a commotion to get one of them to come in and abuse us, or we unlock the door if nobody comes in.
Xrezth then looks around to see if anyone has another plan.
Also, there is something big in the next room. I do not know what, but if it is imprisoned here in this prison, then perhaps it can be used as an ally to help get us out of the prison.
DM-Salsa |
@ DM Salsa - Is this a walled cell with a door with a small barred window? Or can it be easily seen into?
Sorry I misread this post. Your cell can be easily seen into, however the guards are outside the cell block through the door to the south. There is what appears to be a walled off section of the the cell block with a thick iron door that has a small slit to see through. I hope this clarifies the situation.
Also there are still two daggers, a sack, a star made of thorns, a lantern, a vial of something, a window, and a stack of coins still on the patch. I also goofed up. The picks are masterwork, so +2 to all disable device checks. (they are actually a masterwork set of thieves tools, so you can use them after this part if you like.)
DM-Salsa |
Okay, I'm using GM fiat here and saying that you arrived mid-day. it's currently 4 in the afternoon, So waiting until about 8 or 9 then?
Xrezth the Discordant |
I am not good with words and convincing others of the truth or falsity of what I say. Which of you would like to convince the guards that something is amiss herein?
Xrezth looks at the others attempting to discern which would be best to create a situation that would draw the guards ire.
DM-Salsa |
Okay, no one has any nonlethal when this goes down. Let's get this party started!
