The two well-armed dark elves across the table from him begin chanting, while the drow in the back yells an arcane phrase and makes a throwing motion with one hand, sending a tiny red bead flying toward the group of intruders!

Ashtel raises his right hand, his fingers pointing upwards and wriggling like a nest of serpents. In response, a field of rubbery black tentacles burrow up from the floor around the drow caster and reach for him! Asht'el then moves quickly back and to one side, to avoid any more fiery blasts.

Cast black tentacles on caster, then move away (I'd like to be a bit further away, but don't want to move off the map. Hoping to still be able to see into the room.

The second drow stabs at the halfling as he passes, but Randall manages to get into position across from Njord anyway. The momentary distraction is long enough for Njord's first strike to hit home and cause its target to yell in pain.

The three front drow retaliate, while the caster tries to escape from the nasty vine-things. The last one, standing in the middle of the room near the table, takes a step forward and begins to chant loudly. A moment later his target slumps to the ground, the bleeding having taken its toll. The be-tentacled spellcaster in the back is just about to craft another spell when the lingering acid from Fíriel's magic eats its way through his skin and into his heart, and he too slumps to the ground in the embrace of Asht'el's tentacles.

The remaining pair of drow set their faces grimly and attack, the magical flail pursuing Asht'el and swinging at him while the elves group up and chant all the more! Suddenly a loud burst of sound explodes among the clustered heroes, threatening to deafen them!

What is the nature of the obstruction in the center of the room? I'm assuming it is a table. What would it take for Randall to pass underneath or over it?

Randall shakes off the effect of the spell, but tries to let the enemy believe he's still under the grip of the spell while he thinks quickly.

After getting hit again by the damn thing, Asht'el dodges away from the flail and moves through the doorway, determined to put an end to these drow. He fires another pair of fiery blasts, one at each of the remaining dark elves.
