Brian Longarm |
"Ha! I think its great out here. You got the stars overhead, you can hear the animals at night and the air is way better then it ever is in the city. Its clearer. I like it" he shrugs as he eats his rabbit. Of course he caught the bigger rabbit compared to his brother.
Galdamor Graak |
The wilderness lacks Order for my taste, but outside a city or inside I'm always blessed by my God.
Cities are just better organised and more prepared to listen to the voice of Hextor than some...
Nevertheless, I'll be happy to sleep in a bed rather than in my bedroll. Except may be, for the meals ! Thanks to Mr. Frodo.
Silvanius |
"Your cooking has indeed been a a very pleasant surprise on this journey Mr. Frodo, I extend also my thanks for the hospitality" - Silvanius adds with a smile.
As the others comment on their upcoming arrival to the town of Drelin's Ferry, the man adds - "I happen to be an outdoorsman myself, but there is much to enjoy in civilized areas - it is always possible to find new sights and sounds, and the bustle and rushing are simply fascinating"
Looking to Grook'O as the ape devours a handfull of berries he had been gathering all day, the druid muses - "I hope we will have no issues in taking my friend here inside the town walls, it would not be the first time that we would be hindered by such bureaucracies..."
Denlin Longarm |
Denlin chuckles at Galdamor's comment. "Ha! Nature has a beautiful order of it's own. Cities are dirty, and exciting, and fun! But orderly? I'd rather take the order of a glen in the woods over the chaos of a marketplace."
Galdamor Graak |
Even if cities seams chaotic for outsiders, they need order and laws to grow and to prosper. replied Galdamor.
But Nature don't nead the hand of a man nor laws nor true order to grow and prosper. It's his own master.
Silvanius |
After finishing his morning routine, Silvanius comments to Mr Frodo - "Lets proceed along the last stretch of the trip then, and get you and your wares safely inside the town walls - actually I am also eager to know Drelin's Ferry since I have never been in this region"
Rufa Damnatio |
"So what is everyone's plans for after arriving in the city?"
Silvanius |
"Each settlement I have visited so far as proved to be a surprise in one way or another - in fact I have been astounded to verify that actually, there are ones somewhat close to each other, perhaps a days' travel, which display different habits, and sometimes drastic differences in their way of living" - Silvanius answers Rufa.
"I am far from being a scholar in peoples' behavior - if anything I guess I am more attuned to animals' attitudes than anything else" - he chuckles - "In any case, and if we find no issues in entering town, I believe my first trip will be to the market, see the wares being peddled there - and yourself?"
Denlin Longarm |
"Oh Brian and I will figure out something, we always do. Though after that delicious food I would be more than happy to stay on with you Mr. Frodo. We'll see what Drelin's Ferry brings."
As they march on Denlin wanders over to Brian and shares a quiet few words. "This trip is rubbing me the wrong way. Why are there so many rumors of terrible fates befalling travelers and we haven't seen anything?"
DM Greg |
June 1st:
The Road crest a small rise and Descends into a dusty groove in a large shallow dell. An Abandoned farmhouse, partially visible through the trees, stands on one side of the road. You have passed a dozen spots much like this one already today.
Then you glimpse a hint of metal through the brush by the side of the road. Fierce warriors tall, hairy humanoids with mouths and flat faces are lying in wait.

It's saying we need to request access. I think you need to go into sharing and set it so that anyone with the link can view and edit.
Silvanius |
It is working now ;)
Your description says H1 to H& are Hobgoblins but the Excel shows R1 to R6 - it is the same thing right?
Silvanius is planning on casting a spell but will wait for bad guys actions - start coordinates for Silvanius: J7 - Grook'O Adjacent

Spells
0th - Detect Magic, Prestidigitation, Disrupt Undead, Ray of Frost
1st - Enlarge Person, Sleep, Burning Hands, Mage Armor
2nd - Scorching Ray, Web (Cast), See Invisibility
Effects
None
Feeling the three arrows sink into her, Rufa calls out in pain, "AHHH!" Hoping to dissuade further attacks, she conjures a sphere of webbing, not only to entrap the creatures but also to protect herself from harm.
Standard to cast Web. Center it at the intersection of O/P 10/11. This should entangle all the hobgoblins, but not the party. DC 16 Reflex to avoid getting stuck, and provide me with Cover :D
Silvanius |
Turning to the opposite side of the road, Silvanius performs some short gestures and the grass and bushes surrounding the hobgoblins start to wrap around them, grabing their legs - "I will try to immobilize them!"
Casting Entangle -> 40-ft.-radius spread > I believe it needs to be centered outside the map since it will encompass 8 square radius, I wish the effect to be placed in a way as to catch the three hobgoblins in G10, G13 and G16
Denlin Longarm |
Surprise Round Action
Denlin cries out in anger and moves towards the Hobgoblin at G10 drawing his greatsword. "You ambushing cowards!"
Sorry about the mistake! Moving to H10 right next to the Hobgoblin at G10. Edit: forgot you can't charge in a suprise round in 3.5, modifying action now.
Brian Longarm |
Alright, so I will be starting in K9, the bottom right corner. BTW wouldn't Rufa get cover from at least half the shots due to us being in the way? Lastly, how steep are the slopes? I assume 45°? Less?
hp 41/41 (4d12+8) (39/49)
Fort +6 (8), Ref +2, Will +1 (3)
"I hear you Drenlin, I still have that bad fee... OWWRAGH... What the? I told you that I had a bad feeling!"
DM Greg |
Denlin: 1) you can't charge during a surprise round you only get a standard action, 2) the slopes are a bit more than 45 degrees => each square is X4 movement (difficult terrain) and you can't charge through difficult terrain. Therefore please revise action
the party starts its initial position in light blue squares Area (j8 - k9)
No cover (and you are in luck i forget adding +1 to hit for higher ground)
And please all Mark you round action with the Proper Round number we are on . It allows me to actually when i go back to properly identify relevant post.
Reill |
Sorry guys, got real busy with family etc. still gotta get all the info up by his name
Surprise Round:
Reill's eyes fly wide as he sees several arrows fly towards his new allies. He frantically looks for the attackers...
darn it all... I guess the rumors were correct about raiders... *sigh*... well they shan't be the first would - be - bandits to fall by my hand.
He will whip out his +1 composite short bow and fire an arrow at the hobgoblin in N 8.

Delin move his horse near the slope but not quite there, his horse refusing to go on the slope and near combat.
The slope will provide light cover for the Hobgoblin if you fight from that spot.
FWI: The web on the slope /road area will not provide cover vs range weapon because of the Level difference (5ft lower
May i remind the Party that they are mounted?
Brian Longarm |
Yay we continue ^-^
Also, I knew he had a ring of power! If I kill him can I keep it? (Jk, or am I?)
We are mounted? I didn't know that. Actually I think Silvanus and Rufa are the only ones to have posted that they have a mount at all. My guy has a +1 untrained ride check and I was playing him as alergic to the animals, I didn't know that he was riding one. I don't think denlin did either. If we are riding mounts then we all get a free move as the horse moves and we take up 10ft of space.
Round 1
Brian steers his mount over to the base of the hill (L11) and dismount (M11). "Good riddance stupid hoar... hoar... horACHOO!!"
I then take a swing at Hobgoblin R3 with my Greataxe, modified by power attack (-2,+6).

Reill |
Continue performance and attack the same enemy.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
DM Greg |
well in my description during the last 3 days i had you all riding everyday. you are more then welcome not to ride if you want but then you would be behind the party about a day (Mr Frodo rented horses for you until drelin's Ferry)
it take a move action to dismount.
Brian Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 => Entangled by the web
Brian' Horse Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 => Not entangled by the web

R2 draws a potion after firing.

Round 1
With a nod towards the archers on their side of the road, Silvanius whispers to Grook'O - "Get them my friend" - then he dismounts, kneeling next to Rufa, placing his hand gently on her forehead and murmuring a couple of soft words, boosting her own life energy.
Speak: Free action / Dismount: Move Action / Casting Vigor, Lesser on Rufa: Standard Action
Grook'o takes off immediately as Silvanius gives him the go ahead, lumbering towards R4 (Even though he gets no further than H8, I believe he can target him since Grook'O has reach?), trying to pound him with one massive fist.

Reill |
oooo I musta missed that, I swore I'd seen him post, but clearly I was mistaken ;P So... how about that DC 19 bardic knowledge check?
Galdamor Graak |

By Hextor ! I was speaking of being alert and focus and I was the one surprised ! I must help my comrades and proved my worth.

Seeing his comrade fall he go to her and take his wand.
