The strange and alien creature is difficult to read but Nemoris doesnt notice any obvious signs of dissembling.

What do I have?

Sam frowns at Epik "We have to trust him? We have to trust him? Did you by chance sense if he was evil at all?"

Mord'ael:
By the gods, how the hell did these people stay alive this long? Did they not hear anything I said, these things are not fuzzy bunny's, they are killers and kidnappers. Get in the canoe? Trust this thing...I am at a loss here

I didn't see a response on the size of the canoe

The canoe will fit all of you easily

Sam:

All of you two-legged flesh beasts confuse me. Here, though .. there is some sort of ... oddness? Its not demon or deviltry that I can tell. But its not normal

You detect a faint aura of evil coming from the fish man

If he's evil, I say we "borrow" the canoe, capture, and restrain him here, so he's not able to report back. Our current course of action is foolish, and seems to point directly to a trap or ambush.

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Nowzai frowns but nods in agreement.

The fish man turns to face Magma and stares at him while he speaks. He replies in the same Aklo tongue and by his cadence you can tell he's repeating what he said earlier.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

"I am not so sure guys....Sure it could be a trap, but he could simply be a ferryman making a living doing this. He may even be able to point us in the right direction. We could bring him with us, forcefully if necessary, but I am not sure he is evil. Why do you guys think he is evil?

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Amen Nowzai, preach on brother!

You said the boat stopped 20' away and then said he gestured for us to get in, did he move up so are we right next to him?

Can you answer this from above? DM Fflash wrote:

"What do I have?"

I am assuming this discussion happens before you all start getting naked

You have linguistics.

He is still 20 feet away since no one has waded out to him yet. I assume Epik stopped getting undressed when he decided to detect evil.

Feel free to keep discussing but once you have an action plan, let me know.

Agree.

I do have color spray memorized, if he is weak willed I may be able to stun him for a brief moment.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

The creature continues to stare at you, standing in the boat.

How do you intend to lure it?

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Is the water shallow enough to wade out to him or would we have to swim?

Hard to tell from here given how dark it is, but you can tell that at least the first few feet are quite shallow.

The Kuo-toa stares blankly at Epik but doesn't move.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will place his weapon on the ground, then try waving it over

The creature remains unresponsive to Dalamus' actions as well.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will carve some words in the sand.....Words that he can not really see, but that are directed for him....With the intention of him coming close enough to see what I wrote.

I will use my sword to write it.

Bluff check if you're still intending to whack him

The party subtley gathers behind Epik as the creature moves forward dragging the canoe with it toward the shore. As it closes in Epik grabs the unsuspecting creature easily, but quickly realizes he won't hold him long since the thing is covered in a slippery film and his grip immediately starts to slide.

The frog man croaks loudly

Still a surprise round, everyone gets 1 action, melees are within 5' except Dalamus. Ranged within 15 ... no map yet, Ill create one if we need it

The Ferryman Surprise Rd (cont)

Init: Epik, Sam, Dalamus, Aabhaca, Nemoris, Nowzai, Magma

Sam, seeing the creature still grappled, for now, lights his sword with arcane power and waits. Dalamus moves in to help grapple next round (Dalamus was more than 5 feet away since he was drawing the stuff in the sand). Nemoris trains his bow on the creature while Nowzai waits as well.

Magma, on the other hand hammers home a crushing blow on the held creature, gouging it deeply. The creature's clothing is covered in a green goo however and his blade sticks. With a twist, the axe is yanked from Magma's grasp.

The Ferryman Round 1

Epik smashes the creature as well while Dalamus moves in to assist the grapple. Sam follows up as the creature squirms and gouges him painfully in the shoulder sending a spray of green blood. Both Epik and Sam lose their weapons to the adhesive and the creatures slips Epik and Dalamus grasp and then with a slight pause for a strange martial arts move, dives into the water as Nemoris' arrows fly towards him. He almost casually bats the three arrows aside as he move to go under.

Dalamus is still armed so would have an AoO and Nowzai still has an action before the creature mechanically swims away, badly wounded.

Aabhaca Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Adhesive disarm vs Magma: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28; succeed
Adhesive disarm vs Epik: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25; succeed
Adhesive disarm vs Sam: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28; succeed
Aabhaca Escape Artist: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19; succeed

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will take his AoO as the creature tried to flee.

Attack
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

Damage
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Dalamus will miss him.

If he was using Deflect Arrow that is only one arrow a round

Deflect Arrows (Combat)
You can knock arrows and other projectiles off course, preventing them from hitting you.

Prerequisites: Dex 13, Improved Unarmed Strike.

Benefit: You must have at least one hand free (holding nothing) to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with an attack from a ranged weapon, you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. You must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed. Attempting to deflect a ranged attack doesn't count as an action. Unusually massive ranged weapons (such as boulders or ballista bolts) and ranged attacks generated by natural attacks or spell effects can't be deflected.

As a swift action, I will concentrate and call Mord'ael back to me from my blade. The blade stays with the creature, just calling Mord'ael back to me.

Sam concentrates and you see a black ball fly out of the water and streak towards Sam's upraised hand. Once he catches it you see it melt into his skin

He deflected all 3 ... thanks for the link to Deflect Arrows, but he used more than just that feat
