+2 wisdom ioun stone to Asha, can that stack with the headband?


You did not, because detect magic told you that it was non-magical. However, examining it again with the aid of the identify, Poog realizes that the rock has had a magic aura spell placed on it to mask the stone's true power. Poog, make me a Will save if you'd like to (officially) know what the rock does.

As for the ioun stone, both that and Asha's headband grant enhancement bonuses, so they don't stack. The advantage to the stone is that it offers a slotless bonus, which would free up that slot for something else. Unfortunately, the headband affects more than just Asha's Wisdom score, so it's a judgment call on her part whether she wants to use it or not.

If we don't have anything else to put in that slot for Asha (meaning it's a better Wisdom boost, because it can't be grabbed), maybe we should give the ioun stone to whomever's got the worst Will save, try to boost that?

With the release of the ACG playtest, I thought I'd allow anyone that wanted to convert their character over to using the classes the option to do so. So if someone wanted to exchange some of their class levels for, I don't know, say, bloodrager, then I wouldn't have any problems with it.

Just FYI, with Thanksgiving and Chanukah this week, I don't know how much posting I'll be doing between now and Saturday (games I'm not actually running are easier to keep up with, but even then I'll be on the road for a few days and visiting with family). I'm free and back home Saturday so expect to be able to post, but then don't know about Sunday. Monday I should be back to normal -- except I could have jury duty. :/

Background on the Bad Guys

Risha Coaltongue: We met her on the boat here, she watched me wrestle Chung Po, she watched our first bout, she avoided the poison at the restaurant the first night, along with the rest of the Four From Avistan, I think this is the only time we “see” her fight – she’s obviously got a lot of rogue going on, and is a dual-wielder as well as apparently being a pretty damned decent shot.

Darys Shrike:
He shows up in several of the above links as well, and nothing separate that I can find. He apparently favors a greataxe, but that was a really nasty volley from Zak, so it might not matter much at this point.

Mol Kor:
Half-orc cleric of Gorum. He did the race/feats of strength contest against me and Zarina, also went through the iron maidens challenge, and also shows up in several of the links from Risha as well. Favors the greasword (not surprising) and spiked full plate (likewise).

Pirin Agramont:
Half-elf sorcerer (?), fire elemental bloodline (??)
Poog chatted her up on the second night, got dropped fast in the fight against the ninja. (She’s also in a few of the other links above, but not identified by name.) We haven’t seen her fight, but “gank the mage” is rarely a poor plan.

Kaditula Ghadvhi:
My brother, and an agent of the Golden League. Human monk (probably), carries a spiked chain, has footwear-based teleportation.
The conversation we had is pretty much the only time he’s shown up in the thread so far. Sidebar: I’d guessed that the Four were working for the Aspis, but Kadi means they’re either all working for the League or the League and the Consortium are allied – which was, of course, the outcome we were hoping for the least.

Well, I didn't really expect the eagle to place any solid hits. ^^ It's there for flanking duty, only.

Shame I missed, though. That was my last poison... I may have to try and find a source for some more. One that does not completely dishonour Simon in the eyes of all the Warriors' fans, that is. ;)


Yeah, I figured you wouldn't be too upset that your summoned eagle whiffed all three times.

^^ I expect Zarina and Asha to do much better because of its presence, though. Every +2 counts when fighting a high-level Ninja!

Summoning the eagle is actually a little nostalgic! Reminds me of a Serpent's Skull-battle, where my character just kept summoning eagles to fight a dretch and the mad witch who brought the demon in. Good times! ^^


The eagle's my go-to choice for summoned monsters for SMI, especially once you get Augment Summoning. They can actually tear things up a bit.
