Wounded Beast - Round 1 - concluded
Meditrina unleashes a fire-bolt at the savage weasel, scorching it mildly.
As the smell of burned fur and flesh fills the air, Lucien finds gaps between his allies to fire off two arrows, both hit the weasel which twists in pain and fury.
Defending its master and his friends, Struggler lumbers forward striking the weasel with a claw and a bite, wounding it even more.
Both of Talon's dagger attacks miss the great beast, as he also tries to avoid getting bit himself.
Entering battle-rage once again, Agatha swings her great weapon, but her accuracy is just a bit off and the attack misses.
Trawets repeats his performance, conjuring up another acid ball, and splashing it all over the now serious injured weasel.
End of Round 1

Knowing it is outgunned, but without any recourse, the weasel continues its futile assault, this time attacking the great bear, but the combination of the bear's defenses and the weasel's wounds slow it to the point where it bite cannot catch Struggler.
Once again, the group is up against the failing enemy.

Wounded Beast - Round 2 - concluded
The combined attacks of Lucien, Struggler and Talon take out the wounded weasel. Soon the vicious carnivore lies dead on teh ground.
End of combat
Defeating the weasel not only makes life safer in the valley, but also earns you 200xp per player. This adds to your cumulative total, ending at 3322/5000 or about 44% to level 3.

DM DoctorEvil |

After the encounter with the deadly weasel the party continues along the valley floor headed to the spot marked on the map back at the Lodge. The trek is long and arduous, the snow deeper here than before, the wind even more fierce and desperate.
Time for Talon to make one more Fort save vs the elements. The increasing DC should be 18 this time. Failure makes him fatigued, and takes 1d6 non-lethal. Can start the clock over with a fire and a rest otherwise the DC's continue to get harder. It has been roughly 4 hours since departing the lodge, so about 2PM.

By some preternatural instinct, or maybe just out of the corner of his eye, Talon just catches the movement of the creepy doll.
"Look out!" he yells as it comes at them.
"I knew I should have locked that thing in my backpack!"
The rogue flicks one of his daggers at the creature, striking it with deadly accuracy.

Doll Ambush - Surprise Round - concluded
Most of the heroes remain blissfully unaware of their little follower, but Talon turns quickly for some reason, and spies the little porcelain shape following closely. He quickly flicks on of his held daggers at the doll, something magical about it preventing all of the damage from hurting the little creature.
The little creature chants and gestures, and then magically rises up into the air about 15'. "Return from whence you came," the doll shouts in a little girl's angry voice. "We do not want you here. Leave this place at once, or face the consequences."

Doll Ambush - Round 1 - continued
Trawets fires a force missile at the levitating doll, but is stunned when the blast is simply absorbed by the ceramic doll with no seeming effect.
Talon throws his dagger at the target, but the blade misses any contact with the doll.
Will get to Meditrina's blast on her count, but need Lucien and Agatha to make their Round 1 actions. I will run them tomorrow if we don't see something before that.

Trawets is correct, the spell-like abilities are still affected by SR. I must not be communicating clearly, but the doll target is now levitating 15' off the ground. That means melee attacks by Agatha and Struggler do no good. You may try some other actions or pass.
Doll Ambush - Round 1 - continued
Lucien fires a pair of arrows the creepy, levitating doll but both miss the mark, harming nothing.
Meditrina's fire bolt seems to do extra damage to the floating doll, hurting it even more thane expected.
Will give Agatha and Struggler another chance to make a ranged attack or for some other action before moving on to Round 2.

DM DoctorEvil |

My mistake, but the doll didn't get an action in Round 1. That is encompassed below
Doll Ambush - Round 1 - concluded
After weathering all the attacks the doll begins chanting, and casting a spell, which is targeted at Agatha, but the barbarian shakes off the mind-affecting spell.

Doll Ambush - round 2 - continued
Lucian fires his bow twice more at the doll, one arrow misses completely. The other strikes the porcelain doll, but rather than damaging her, it just glances off to the side, leaving nary a scratch.
Further frustrating the party, Trawets unerring force missile fires again at the doll, but again her magical nature just absorbs the force without any damage.
Running Talon since he is traveling to speed things along.
Figuring he might have shot, Talon throws another dagger at the doll. And again, another hit, but the bladed knife slips off the ceramic surface without any damage.
The doll again casts a mind-affecting spell, aimed at Agatha again, trying to take mental control of the strong barbarian. Once again the Ulfen warrior fights off the attempted mind take-over.

Doll Ambush - Round 3
Firing another force bolt, Trawets snickers as this one strikes full force, spinning the levitating doll around in the process, and putting a crack in the porcelain finish.
The thrown dagger from Talon also strikes home, but the force of the throw seems to do no good, as the energy is absorbed by the magical creature.
Agatha and Lucien are up before the doll gets another action.

![]() |

With it flying, are you using a ranged weapon on that attack, Agatha? Otherwise I'm not sure how you hit it. I think this might have to be killed with Force Bolts...the only attack I damaged it with was the first with added sneak attack, otherwise I'm not bypassing its damage reduction, even with max damage.

DM DoctorEvil |

Doll Ambush - Round 3 - continued
From her position above the heads of the party, the angry doll is able to fend off a pair of arrows that strike her, but slide off with leaving a mark.
The hurled sling stone from Agatha is avoided by the flying target.
The witch-doll then casts a spell which causes a 5' ft radius burst around Agatha and Meditrina to be filled with freezing cold air. The cold temperature also slows and staggers the two ladies.
Cold dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
DC 12 Reflex save or be staggered. Starting a turn in the effected area will cause more cold damage. Meditrina is up next to end the round, provided she survives the damage and the save.

If its just a 5 foot radius spread isn't it possible that I can just like...5 foot out of it and still attack?
Royally Pissed off, but feeling like she alone has the b est chance at crippling this enemy, Meditrina goes for broke, unleashing a burning hands at the doll.
