Rolth's 1st Lvl Spell Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Rolth's 2nd Lvl Spell Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

I've changed the character sheet over to an Arcanist.

So I just did some reading up on the craft skill and plugged the figures into a handy spread sheet.

If I were to take 10, use masterwork artisan tools, and cast crafter's fortune every day that I worked on a suit of armor, it would take me 30 weeks of work to make a mithral chain shirt.

A mithral breastplate would take 101 weeks. Nearly 2 solid years!!
Hockety pockety.

This crafting stuff is not as quick as I would like! I'm going to run some more numbers and think a bit longer on what Travigan would like to start working on with his next 2 weeks. Hrmmmm.

IIRC, there is a way to shorten the time. I think you increase the DC, though, so you would have to work our if you can still do it.

The other thing to do is use apprentices; iirc each other person that rolls at least 10 (and if they take 10, that shouldn't be difficult) adds 2 to your roll (via aid another). Just a small number can boost your roll quite significantly, enough for you to shorten the time taken on a crafting project.

While you're right that I can boost the DC by 10 to hasten the time, even with that the mithral chain shirt would take more than 17 weeks. With the DC boosted and TEN apprentices successfully aiding, that still leaves me with having to invest 10 weeks of time to finish one mithral chain shirt.

If I had a +90 modifier to my craft skill (so taking ten would yield a 100), it would still take more than a month to finish just that one mithral chain shirt! =P =P =P

That's just not feasible for an adventurer.

I'm afraid if I'm going to get any use out of my craft skill, it'll be just as a money generator, which will net me approximately 13gp/week. Kind of underwhelming, but better than nothing I suppose.

Yea. Tina can crank out alchemy items with fast alchemy pretty quick, so acid for everyone!

Will you tell me when your Arcanist re-training is done on the character sheet, so I can make the changes on my side? I booked the financial changes on the Loot Tracker.

Majenko can stay as familiar if you like.

I will have to look up the scrolls when I have the book handy. Will post here what they are, but they are Level 1 and Level 2 if you need to make Spellcraft to ID.

According to your post(#1565), they are a scroll of identify and a scroll of Command Undead.

And so they are. Keep or sell?

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

SLim pickings down there. ;_;

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

I vote we keep the scroll of identify and sell the command undead.

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

Same

Works for me too.

Crux! I'm gonna be leaning on you in the adventure ahead to help ol' Travigan here start to come to terms with his magics! Old man's gonna need a tutor! =)

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

I will be on Holiday July 27 to 31, but I hope to be able to get wifi access.

retired

Nice, Gav! I hope your time away is great! =)

Grand Lodge

Ok, but just so you know, Crux is not the nurturing sort.

Sell both scrolls (Identify and Command Undead) and divide the money between us.

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

I'm sure the thugs are quaking in their boots!

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

I know I am!

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

So Tina will head out and get a forumula of Lesser Restore to mix an infusion and give to the girl, along with an antiplague. ANyone tagging along?

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

I suggest we do a scooby doo and split the gang up. I expect Travigan will want to investigate this pirate ship, I will want to see if there is a connection with the priests.

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

Don't forget to walk backwards while askign if anyone is there!

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

We need a dog, too.

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

Okay, are current goals seem to be.

1.Finish helping Brienne with the illness
2.Check out the church of Abdar
3.Check out the pirate ship

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

and get a dog!

I think we broke our GM.

you couldn't get that lucky!

Just a quick note that I'll be camping this weekend (leaving tomorrow morning) and I'll be off 'Ye Olde Grid' until Monday.

Enjoy, watch out for man-sized mosquitos!

Hey guys, just a head's up that I'll be out of town for my annual cabin/gaming trip this weekend. We're leaving tomorrow afternoon and I'm expecting to make it back sometime Monday.

Have fun cabin-gaming. We'll be happy to have you back.

please pardon my slower than acceptable posting recently. My work has kickedinto another gear lately, and I don't have much time to spend on the games I have to run.

I have been trying to hustle a pair of PFS games to a close so I can give more attention to the others, but I haven't really been able to get more than once-a-week going lately.

If I can't get back to normal soon, I may have to consider bailing altogether.

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

I will confess to disappointment if that happens - 2 of my 4 games have bailed recently - but I understand. Real Life comes first.

Grand Lodge

I will absolutely hate it, but if it needs be done...

We'll I just finished 2 threads and dropped another. I will try to keep this running in the meantime, but posting may not be as rapid as any of us would like.

retired

Thanks for your efforts and continued care for our game here, dude! It's appreciated =)

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

Much thanks

Grand Lodge

Thank you!

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

Yeah, thank you!

Sorry I was so scarce this weekend, folks! I'm finding myself on the road an awful lot this holiday season and it's looking like I'll be driving quite a bit each of these next few weekends as well.

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

Anyone got any idea how we are gonna fight these orcs? What battlefield control do we have?

retired

Travigan has a big hammer! Point him at some orcs and he'll do his able best to control them right into the ground =P

Grand Lodge

Crux can cast Create Pit and Grease spells.

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

Big booms

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

Create pit and grease will help channel them into a smaller area...where big booms will help. Last thing we need is to be surrounded. Travigan can act as the plug, stopping anyone from getting through.

retired

Travigan's also best when he's got 2 or more foes up in his face at once. Crowd Control gives him a slight boost to hit and to AC and I'm eyeing Cleave as one of my possible feats to pick up next level.

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

Sure. I'll be the archer; I can also melee so I can be back-up guard to Crux (though he probably has enough spells to protect himself).

We'll need to scout the camp to see where the best approach is, but I think we've got a working plan.

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

Merry Christmas everybody

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2

Merry Christmas! Free potions for everyone!

Just so you know, this whole Orc thing is a bit off the scope of the AP. I have no issues with that, but I'll be sandboxing something to make it work. Continue with what you want to move forward with. If it turns into a full-scale invasion of Bezelken, so be it!

retired

If it turns into a full-scale invasion of Bezelken, we could also probably transition into the Giantslayer AP =P

More on point, I hadn't realized the orcs were a bit of a red herring as far as the narrative of the AP is concerned. If we'd rather stay on track with what's been published, maybe there's a single route or pass the orcs are coming from that we could sabotage rather than getting embroiled in a slew of raids versus orc encampments.

I'm happy to go whichever way we want, but I'm also, in the back of my mind, cognizant of how much work goes into running an already published AP in pbp format - throwing a load of homebrew adventuring into the mix seems like it could be an awful lot.

Male Professional Dosser 14/Rules Lawyer6

Yeah, I hadn't realised we were going off-piste with this one, I'm happy to make a simple raid and then go home, nothing too fancy. After all, this is just a sideshow.

Grand Lodge

I agree. Some quick xp and a bit of gold before getting back to the real story.

F Human Alchemist 4 HP 31/31 Per+9 F7R6W3 AC16T12FF14 Init+2
