Hi Jesse,
Adam here. Whenever it's a good time to drop in, I have a character. Never played a bard before, so we'll see how this works out. I figure he had gone to the next village over to trade news and put on a show or two, and when he got back heard about the trouble. Whenever it's convenient, he'll show up and lend a hand.

I could show up before the end of the fight if that helps. The dice are trying to kill your party off.

So it looks like our Crypt of the Everflame game might be drawing to a close.
I'd just like to thank Deinol for doing a great job running the game - it turned out to be pretty brutal and lethal, but I liked that aspect - it really gave the combat and role-playing some weight. Also, I think the other players did a great job too. I had a lot of fun, and was able to re-familiarize myself with the rules - enough so that I'm running my own first play by post game (We Be Goblins!) on these forums.
I see that Crypt of the Everflame is the first part of a trilogy of adventure modules. If Deinol would like to continue with that, count me in. If not, that's cool too. At the very least, Anton Viello might make an appearance as a caravan guard when I finally decide to do Jade Regent.
Again, thanks for a good experience - Yarroth, Drummer, Tarric, Santoval, Artagan, and Kerren - and Deinol for putting it together. May Kassen's heroes always be remembered!

Sounds good...do we have enough xp to go up another level? And can we get the items we took from the crype identified so we can sor out who gets what?? (we should also get a list of what we found...was anyone keeping track?? I know there was a magic dagger at one point...)
Anton Viello
Hit Point Roll 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 (Favored Class)
So that puts me at 25 total hp at level 3. Not too bad.
I'll update the rest later. I take back what I said earlier about Improved Shield Bash, if I'm sticking with sword and board it seems to make sense, but I'll read over all my combat feats tonight and see if it does. I finally get that Armor Training that could have helped on those pesky Swim checks, too.

Kassen’s Boon
Aura moderate abjuration; CL 10th
Slot amulet; Price —; Weight —
This small silver scale is warm to the touch and inscribed with the sigil of Kassen, hero of the Fangwood. You can use this scale to call upon Kassen’s favor, allowing you to reroll any one attack roll, saving throw, or skill check after the roll is made but before the results are revealed. You must take the result of the second roll, even if it is worse. Once this power has been used, the scale crumbles to dust.

Cool....well shall we divide up the loot?? I think Anton will want the shield..to replace the one he lost, as for the rest???? I might take the armour if noone else wants it...otherwise maybe the bag...
Traveling Drummer
Seems like each of us should get a scale. Drummer is compatible with the ring, potion, bag, and gem. Of those, I guess I'm most interested in the bag, followed by the ring, then the gem, then the potion.
There are six unique items (not counting the potion and the scales), so two of us will get two and two of us will get one. I'd propose the Heroes of Kassen (Anton and Yarroth) each get two, while the sidekicks (Tarric and Drummer) each get one.
So my proposal is:
Tarric: One scale + first pick
Drummer: One scale + second pick
Anton: One scale + third and fifth pick
Yarroth: One scale + fourth and sixth pick
and then the potion goes to someone, and divide the gold as evenly as possible.

Sounds fair to me Drummer. I'm probably most interested in the +1 longsword and the +1 shield. As long as there's enough gold to buy me a couple of pints, I'm good. Treasure is fleeting, (so is ale) but glory is forever! :D
I'm basically planning on saving up a bit to get some nicer armor at some point, so that's really all I'm concerned about as far as party wealth.
Traveling Drummer
I'll snag the bag of holding, since it was my first choice and Tarric didn't take it (provided Yarroth agrees with my distribution plan) - that would leave Yarroth with the armor and the gem.
Yarroth the Younger
sounds ok to me....althought chainmail is not really great for me...I might sell it, or trade for something better for a Ranger/Rogue. Dont really think I have much use for the gem either..lol...but no worries!! I will have to assemble my kit in town, and the money I get from selling this stuff should help me get what I want (I hope)..unless anyone want to trade, or thinks we should keep this stuff...I'm easy!! I am sure something specific for my character will show up at sometime, so if anyone else wants the gem and armour theyr yours for the taking!!
Traveling Drummer
Might as well let Anton buff out with the chain mail, then. Want the bag of holding? I'm pretty flexible, too.
Yarroth the Younger
LOl..thanks, but it is not necessary...I am always pragmatic about loot...give it to the person who will most benefit ...I dont really worry about "getting" stuff, the adventure is reward enough...but if we come across some nice studded leather..lol
Traveling Drummer
Agreed. Making Anton indestructible is good for all of us. I just need to learn to stay the heck out of melee. Inspiring dance + archery, perhaps?
Anton Viello
Yarroth, that's very generous of you. You can have my share of gold/treasure in return for the armor, and I'll pitch in toward some enchanted studded leather however I can. Also, proceeds from the sale of my old scale armor and masterwork longsword can go for that as well.
I get a nice +2 armor bonus with that chainmail, and a shield that will help me overcome my inability to hit anything when I'm using it as a weapon - at 1d8 damage too. So long heavy mace. I think the +1 longsword (I'm naming it "Kassen's Edge" or something equally dramatic!) puts my to hit modifier into double digits in some cases.
I'm a very happy fighter, in other words.
Yarroth the Younger
You got it buddy...and I still felt bad about you losing your shield in that water!!! So buffing you up is no problem!!! And thanks for the donation...maybe we can find something nice when we get back to town...now what are you opinions on a weapon (melee) for Yarroth. He took duel wield, so I was thinking shortswords, or maybe hand ax.....anyone have an idea what might be a good weapon??
Tarric Abol
Tarric is quite happy to have as many layers of steel between him and the enemy as possible...especially if someone else is wearing said steel!
Anyways, I want Tarric to stay back whenever possible.
@Yarroth. Honestly, without looking at the mechanics, when you picture Yarroth in your head, what is he wielding? Hand-axes, large machete like knives, short swords, clubs?
Yarroth the Younger
Actually I pictured him with a bow...lol...and was going to go with the archery feats, but this adventure showed me while that might be a neat skill, he still needs better melee skills. I was thinks shortswords, as this is a fairly common weapon and would be easily carried by a huntsman. But axes kinda instill a more rustic, foresty feel to the character...and when you do look at the mechanics, I want to find a useful weapon which compliments my ranger, and rogue skills.
