DM Darkblade Giantslayer Campaign (Inactive)

Game Master GM Darkblade

The Giantslayer Adventure Path begins in the fortified town of Trunau in the southern part of the Hold of Belkzen. A series of strange events trouble the beleaguered town. At the town’s request, the PCs must uncover the source behind these events and step in to save the town from forces which seek an end to Trunau and it's peoples.

Delia wastes no time in following the boulder with an arrow of her own directed at the nearest orc! She spots Leira cutting the lashes on the logs and sees Jace begin to rush through the opening in the barricade. "Jace no! Stay!" Reluctantly the warcat stops and roars at the nearby orcs!

Round 9
-------------------------------------------------------------------

With a nod to Leira, Adir slashes at the other side.

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Dundin sees the fire burn out with relief.

He reapplies his lead blades spell with his wand.

Delia fires off an arrow at Orc S as he recovers from his brush with the flaming boulder. The projectile catches him forcefully in the chest, dropping him before he has any further chance to act. The orc drops dead to the ground, his falchion clattering by his side.

Jace continues his roaring, eager to continue his assault. Tuzak likewise mews out his anxiety, held back by his master, leaning heavily against the barricade, waiting for a foe to come into range.

Dundin steps back from his assaults, wincing in pain from his wounds. Taking a moment's respite, the dwarf replenishes his weapons' magicks, taking the wand from his belt.

Songan grabs up his bow, continuing his ranged attacks at the orcs. He takes aim at Orc T, his arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26, hitting for Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 and knocking the orc to the ground, dead.

Omast finishes loading his heavy crossbow, taking aim at Orc U, Firing a shot: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8, the bolt missing high over the orc's head. The aging warrior then drops the crossbow to the side, taking up his greatsword, ready to fend off any approaching orcs.

Adir, Leira and Brampton quickly act and slash the ropes holding the nearest log pile at the ready. The heavy logs creak and crack as they thump forwards, smashing onto the slope and tumbling down, plowing over the orcish raiders and rolling onwards, slamming into the gatehouse wall.

Log Strikes:

Orc O Reflex Save: 1d20 ⇒ 2 To Hit: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6) = 14 Prone and Staggered

Orc R Reflex Save: 1d20 ⇒ 11 To Hit: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 2) = 8 Prone and Staggered

Orc N chucks his last javelin high overhead, arcing down towards Adir: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18, the arrow missing as the druid ducks back when striking the log pile.

Orc O stumbles slowly to his feet, clearly nearly killed by the tumbling logs.

Orc P managed to jump back away from the logs, keeping his wits about him. He takes aim with his bow and again Fires an arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13, missing as well.

Orc Q climbs to his feet, picking up his weapon, unsteady but still ready to continue the fight.

Orc R rises up, tossing aside his broken bow and drawing his great axe from his sling.

Orc U charges towards the crushed barricade, aiming directly at Jace. The warcat lashes out with his great Bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15, ripping into the orc for Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10, killing it instantly.

Orc V likewise rushes the great cat, his Double Axe: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 chopping too low to reach the beast.

Orc W moves forward a few paces, tossing a Javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 at Brampton, the crooked barb clattering against the ruins of the barricade and remaining log pile.

Orc X stands to his feet, grabbing up his bow and firing an Arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 at Brampton, missing well past his form.

From the gateway, moving in past the flaming boulder which crushed a small hovel beyond the portal, you see five more warriors approaching, Orcs Y, Z, A, B, and C.

Adir, pierced by numerous weapons launched by the orcs assaulting the far end of the line, slumps down against the barricade, his head down, his eyes closed. Stablize Check: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 - 1 = 12 Successful Tuzak sidesteps over to defend his master, taking a Total Defense stance at the fenceline.

Brampton lashes out with his bec de corbin, striking Orc R, ripping the head through his throat. The warrior then tore the weapon out and onwards to slam it's hammer head into the side of Orc Q. Loud crunching, bones breaking, muscles rupturing echoes as the weapon fells both orcs, their bodies dropping to the ground. Brampton draws the weapon back as his body shifts and shrinks, his form diminishing down to his normal size.

Dundin thrusts out with his spear, hoping to skewer Orc V, missing as the warrior stumbles into the ragged barricade, a stunted cross bar of rough hewn timber deflecting the point away. The warrior then moves up towards the breach, hoping to stave off any further encroachments.

Leira sees an opening and she strikes a hit upon Orc W square in the chest with a globule of concentrated acid, the mess eating away at hair, leather, flesh and bone, destroying the creature's armored breastplate. The orc stumbles a bit, pulling at the ruined mess, Staggered as it's body smokes and craters.

Jace pounces at Orc V, ripping and tearing at the body, rending the orc apart. It's torso collapses atop the bloody carnal pile, forming a wall of death anchoring a bit into the open lane torn in the line by the flaming barricade.

Delia fires an arrow at Orc X, striking the warrior and embedding the shaft deep into it's forearm and shoulder. The wound clearly distracts the warrior, Staggered as he tries to concentrate beyond the wound and spurting blood loss.

Songan fires an arrow out, also at Orc X, the Arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15, the arrow hitting for Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5, nearly but not quite killing the stubborn orc.

Omast moves up to the line next to the vicious warcat, Readied Action to strike out at any orc who approaches within range.

Orc N moves up to the barricade, taking Tuzak's distraction as a chance to vault over the construct, then stabbing at the sloth from behind with it's Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25, Confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14, Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 = 10, the blade hacking a long furrow along the sloth's left flank.

Orc O moves up to the barricade, climbing atop the barricade, preparing to stab down at Tuzak, it's life's blood slowly dripping out from it's open wounds.

Orc P moves up, following his comrades, taking a shot down range at Brampton, the Arrow: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2, missing into the night.

Orc W moves to take advantage of the rush on the far end of the barricades, hoping to capitalize on the faltering defense. Brampton's shrunken form causes the orc to forget about him, so it comes as a suprise when the warrior lashes out with his Polearm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19, catching him off-guard and doing Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6, leaving the warrior wounded, winded, and stopped in his tracks, bleeding and battered but still on his feet.

Orc X stumbles forwards, attempting to throw a Handax: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 at Omast, the weapon clattering to the ground before the warrior, amidst the fallen attackers splattered there.

Orc Y rushes forwards, twirling a set of whistling spiked iron balls on a pair of rusty chains, the Bolas: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 1 - 2 = 19 flying out towards Jace, nearly connecting as it whips past, ruffling fur and nicking it's tail.

Orc Z rushes along beside Y, his Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 sending out a barbed arrow at Dundin, Confirmation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, doing Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 as it punches through his side armor.

Orc A alters his course, moving towards the far end of the barricade, making it to the wooden structure and facing off against the remaining defenders.

Orcs B and C move in the opposite direction, hoping that splitting the defenders will weaken the line and allow their compatriots access to the town beyond.

Do you allow treating wands as weapon-like objects for free drawing as you move? I will post here assuming that

EDIT: Action changed to attack then

Leira steps diagonally next to Brampton and casts another bolt of acid at the same orc (w) whom sturdily refuses to fall.
Acid splash (touch): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

She then draws the healing wand into her free hand.

Wand charges: 8
Bolts: 28

Brampton please indicate into which square you are moving. Thanks.

As to the wands as weapons or weapon-like question, I tend to rule as the creators intended. See James Jacob's post here The thread was for Quick-Draw but as he stated, wands were not intended to be considered weapons and as such are a move action to draw. I have cosplayed a wizard a time or two and while it is not the same as having a "real" wand, I have broken a few hand crafted wands in half, knocked off the super glued jewels, snapped or unraveled the wrappings, even really bent them out of shape simply by being tucked away in a sleeve, a sash, or just slipped into a belt/pouch. If you were to use a wrist sheath or similar device however, I would allow for such an item to make the draw similar to drawing a weapon, and thus it could be drawn as part of a move action. Does this seem fair to everyone?

Delia grimaces as the battlefield begins to break out into multiple skirmish sites. The orcs were beginning to overrun their position and she knew it. Seeing Dundin and Omast holding the breach in the barricade, she lets out a shrill whistle which catches Jace's attention. The warcat turns to see her pointing at the orcs rushing towards the western end of the barricade. "Jace, come!" She screams over the cacophony of battle and the screams of the dying and wounded. She then begins running towards the western end. The warcat rushes along the barricade, matching her stride for stride. Delia stops next to the building and immediately sends an arrow streaking towards the closest orc! Jace turns his head to see the two orcs, and one with Delia's arrow sticking out of it! He growls viciously and takes position on the barricade as he had before, taking a bite at the first orc to present itself!

Delia Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 25
Delia Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 12
Jace Bite Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 - 1 = 10
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9

Delia will move 6 squares directly "down" toward the S/W, this will put her in the square left of the "S" on the compass. Jace will follow along the barricade, this should put him in the square with the "W" on the compass. Delia will attack "B". Jace will then hold position and hold his attack for when the orc closes distance.

Brampton, sensing the urgency of the situation, strikes out at Orcs A and W, puncturing the first A through the side, Staggering it as he pulls the weapon back, then backswings hard into the head of the latter orc, crushing it's jaw and sinuses. The warrior then moves around Adir's still form, hoping to help Tuzak fend off the orcish rush.

Leira steps up, drawing Songan's wand and launching a small globule of acid into the face of Orc W before it has a chance to fall from Brampton's strike, dissolving the remainder of it's jaw and leaving a smoking, blackened visage staring up into the cool night air.

Tuzak releases all of his pent up aggressions into the torso of Orc N, splattering the barricade and it's own fur with gore and entrails, the orc warrior Staggered by the sudden damage, uncertain whether to hold it's intestines in or continue the fight against it's foe.

Dundin scores a strike against the nearest orcish archer Z, the warrior taking the hit in it's draw arm. The creature Staggers a step, the force of the enlarged dwarf's spear taking it off guard.

Delia and Jace race down along the barricade after the orcs breaking off from the main group. Delia lands an arrow into the guts of Orc B, the shaft punching out it's back nearly three inches. The shot Staggers the warrior, but does not deter it's bloodlust. Jace takes a defensive stance, ready to pounch at the first orc to come into reach, pain and feral anger reddening the warcat's thoughts.

Songan fires an arrow of his own at Orc Z, Aiming: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 for it's midsection, the shot missing narrowly as the orc stumbles back out of line for the hit.

Omast continues his guarded stance at the breech, ready to take on the nearest orc to reach him.

Orc N slashes out at Tuzak with it's Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6, aiming low and causing the sloth to rear up and away from the blow.

Orc O remains perched atop the barricade, calling for his fellows to push onwards, Stabbing: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 downwards at Tuzak, timing his blow to work in concert with Orc N's catching the beast in the shoulder for Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12, the giant animal crying out in pain before collapsing to the ground, blood flowing red from the deep wide gash. -1HP and Prone

Orc P fires off an Arrow: 1d20 + 3 + 5 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 5 - 4 - 2 = 7 at Adir, the arrow clipping the barricade and rebounding away, flying over and past Leira's shoulder.

Orc X rushes ahead of his fellows at the breech, ducking under the attempted attack of opportunity offered by Dundin, barreling into the Readied Strike: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Omast had been holding, the orc taking Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13 as the aged soldier decapitates the dying orc with a high and heavy chop.

Orc Y likewise follows suit, rushing ahead and swinging his Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for Omast, catching nothing but air around the seasoned warrior.

Orc Z stumbles back a few steps 5' step, then fires another Arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 at Dundin, the shaft striking for Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6, another barbed arrow coated with orcish blood and filth. Dundin is at 0HP and Staggered

Orc A climbs over the barricade and stabs down at the prostate Adir with his Greataxe: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 4 = 26, chopping the undefended body for Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6, opening a gash across the enlarged druid's back. -7HP

Orc B stumbles forwards then moves at an angle, fumbling over the barricade, the great cat's paw swipe missing as the orc slides off the logs and bumbles into Dundin's exposed backside.

Orc C moves up to the barricade, throwing a Throwing Axe: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 at the warcat, clipping Jace for Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9, causing the warcat to screech out in pain, fur and blood carved away by the wicked, jagged axe.

I know how difficult it is to run combats with so many foes, and I understand mistakes happen. I am quite impressed how you are managing all this encounter, and I would not normally bother at all, but I will like to make the following observations, just because we are very pressed and every single detail matters at this point:
- With the barricade cover, Tuzak AC vs orc O should be 23, isn't it?
- And if he survived, that might also gave the animal an AoO vs A when it went over the barricade to stab the fallen Adir.
- About W: Brampton AoO should come with the orcs movement, and thus Leira's spell happens before. Yet it might be the acid (and the ferocity -1 per round) is not enough to drop W, but if it is, then Brampton would have AoOed on A instead.

I will wait to post, because depending on the interpretation of that I will heal Adir or Dundin

"We have to save Adir and retreat to the second line!" shouts the girl scared.

O is atop the barricade, looking down on Tuzak from a height advantage, as posted the previous round, which I felt would negate the cover from the barricade, which operates on the understanding that part of the solid cover blocks the line of attack. The height angle alters/negates that original plane of attack, removing that effect.

Brampton did not make an AoO on W, he used his Cleave feat prior to moving so he could not shift it back to Orc A as an AoO.

I do factor the -1 Ferocity into each Orc every round on my spreadsheet as the first step for each round. Brampton would have killed Orc W with his blow and the -1 adjustment. Leira fired her spell on W as well, causing just a bit of overkill thematically. If you wish it, even though it was not suggested in your original or edited posts, I will instead apply the damage to Orc A. Alone it won't kill him or stop his action, but every point helps.

Orc A began climbing the barricade end of last round with his left over MP, then went over at an angle this round to avoid an AoO from Tuzak or Brampton, and in order to be an orc, viciously brutalizing an enlarged and helpless human. Tuzak would not have garnered an AoO either way as he fell prior to Orc A moving closer, due to the actions of N and O.

Leira:
Please note I am actually trying to help a bit, but there is only so much I can fudge for you guys without it being obvious. I did not apply the additional modifiers for the Helpless condition to Adir's AC for Orc A, only offering the +4 prone but not the Dex nor Enlarged changes. Had the roll been low, I would have left it at that.

Eleven rounds of combat have passed, with more than one or two doing so with a player either holding their own positions out of combat or taking Total Defense. That hurts in a situation where it allows multiple threats to close into personal range, ganging up and pressing pinpoint targets only. Attrition takes it's toll after that.

I don't want players to die, that's no fun for anyone, but you guys needs to be on the same page, working together. Sometimes that happens, sometimes not. Hope is coming, if you can hold out less than a minute longer.

I see, sorry, I did not notice they had previously climbed over the barricade :/
I am also understanding what a toll we are paying for those actions. Perhaps we can shorten rounds waiting time to 24h instead of 36 and let people who did not post during last round act twice. That might give more freedom to everybody so not posting has not that big penalty, and you are also more free to advance the rounds at a better pace.

Understanding Dundin is at the point of falling and he is to injured to act right now, the girl sighs at Adir's fallen view, and grasping the wand with strength approaches the large dwarf warrior.

Unfortunately no, Jace is not next to the barricade, he is in the square adjacent to the one which holds the barricade, per your previous move to put him in the square marked with the W. Orc C is actually in the square opposite the one holding the barricade, leaning over the barricade, so in effect there is nearly a 10' distance between the two combatants.

I will assume you are moving Jace 5' step towards the barricade, to close the distance to be able to strike at Orc C.

Ohhhh, I was thinking the spot I put him in was adjacent to the barricade. I am clear now, thanks Darkblade! :)

Brampton steps over Adir's large foot and leg, straddling the wounded Druid as he lashes out at the foes gathered there. He first strikes hard at Orc O atop the barricade, barely managing to reach the warrior's leg at the farthest extention of his weapon. The sharp point pierces the orc's thigh, finding the vein and sending a spray of blood out over the Adir as the orc falls back over the barricade, dying as he does so. The young soldier then swings back at Orc N with the hammer end of his bec, only to miss as the warrior ducks the blow.

Leira retreats from aiding Adir, quickly moving back towards Dundin as he takes more damage from the foes about him. Through some force of will she manages to make the wand function twice in one moment, pumping healing energy into the dwarf, the sorceress sensing him ready to collapse.

Dundin feeling the restorative effects of the wand, drops his spear and whips a backhanded blow of his axe into Orc B, the blade hacking deep into the orc's chest, killing him instantly. The dwarf calls out his thanks as he turns to seek out his next target, knowing more orcs are on the way.

Delia fires off an arrow at Orc C, missing as her shot lodges in the barricade, the orc snarling a smile at the young huntress. She then orders Jace to close and attack, the warcat lunging forth to try and bite the orc. The barricade serves to hold the feline back just enough that his jaws snap shut dangerously close to the warrior's porcine snout, just not enough though to actually catch the creature. Jace then lashes out with his claws, Claw 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 and Claw 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14, neither paw making a connection to the wiry orc, causing the cat to roar out in frustration.

Songan moves up as Leira comes closer, taking aim at Orc Z, firing off an Arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 which hits the orc a glancing blow along it's mid torso, doing Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 only a minimal amount of pain and blood loss.

Omast confronts Orc Y with his Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19, hitting with a solid blow that does Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11 and Staggers the orc in his boots, blood and hacked viscera dripping down his side.

Tuzak Stabilize Check: 1d20 + 0 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 0 - 2 = 10 Successful

Orc N takes a 5' step towards Brampton and stabs out with his Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11, a petty blow which Brampton easily blocks aside, pulling his bec de corbin in close to do so.

Orc P moves along the building front, climbing up onto the barricades, bracing himself against the wall. Wanting to avoid striking an ally, he fires downrange at the next closest target Songan. The Arrow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 falls near the catfolk's feet, the spry archaeologist easily ignoring the weak attempt.

Orc Y returns Omast's sword blows, his own Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 swing suddenly weak, the effects of the aged warrior's blow hard to ignore, taking much of the fight out of the orc.

Orc Z sights in on Dundin again, firing another Arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15, this one clipping the top of the barricade, lodging itself downwards into a log piling post.

Orc A takes a 5' step himself, coming upon Brampton from the rear as the young man becomes distracted by Orc N. The orc roars as he makes a powerful swing at the back of Brampton's legs with his Greataxe: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 10, clipping instead the hard scorched earth, the orc perhaps better suited to killing unconscious foes than fighting a live and resistant enemy.

Orc C hacks back at Jace with his Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20, likewise thwarted by the rough cut logs keeping the pair apart.

Clamboring through the gate, following the sounds of combat, four orcs and a man sized lizard come into view. The lizard is filthy, splattered in blood and gore not it's own, jaws snapping and hissing as it is lead on by Orc D behind it. Twisted Heart Lizard and Lizard Handler

Orcs E, F, and G are much burlier and massive than the ones fought thus far, their eyes glazed and staring, obviously somewhere gone in the madness of combat. Shieldbreakers

Sorry. I thought that would finish him and was trying to do it in a dramatic fashion. What caused the orc to become Staggered?

As he turns to leave he hears the orc mumble something about Brampton's parentage and realizes that the orc is still alive. Embarrassed that his bravado got the best of him he waits to make sure his opponent is really dead before leaving.

Your cleave attack missed I'm afraid. Tuzak staggered the orc after it came over the barricade.

The orc took 9 points damage on Round 11 from Tuzak, Staggering it.
The orc took 1 point damage on Round 12 bleeding. Brampton missed the Cleave.
The orc will take 1 point damage on Round 13 bleeding. Brampton did 7 points damage with his bec. Total damage this round will be 18 exactly, counting the bleed.

Standard orcs, of which this is one, have 6 HP plus a CON of 12. They die when taking 18 points damage. Unless I am misinterpreting the rules, the orc, dying from the bleed damage, would still get to act this round. Does this seem to be correct?

edit: I deleted the post wherein I mentioned the cleave killed orc N. The 11 to hit did not hit the orc.

Dundin squeezes his enlarged form between Leira and Omast, rushing to quickly help Brampton. The dwarf catches Orc A unawares, his huge axe easily hacking through the warrior's spine and midriff, nearly cutting the body in twain. The orc collapses in a bloody heap as the ranger tells the boy, Finish 'em quick.

Leira shouts in excitement as Dundin rushes past, following closely to use his sudden shift as a distraction to aid her in healing Adir. The wand surges in her hands, pouring it's healing energy into Adir's prone form, but does not jump with the same power and vigor it did but a few moments before. Still, there is movement in the druid as his eyes flutter open, confused slightly by the activity going on around him.

Brampton hears Dundin's comment and nods his head, shifting and stabbing hard at the orc before him, lifting the creature from the ground with his strike. Thinking the orc dead on his feet, the soldier spins and starts to rush back towards Omast, leaving the wounded to the others. It is only when he realizes the orc did not die, and that the archer P still stands on the barricade, that he pauses, having shifted slightly closer to the barricade. 5' step

Delia tries to scour her memories for the types of lizards sometimes kept by the local orc tribes, unsure of which breed this one might belong. Frustrated, she curses under her breath and focuses her eyes on Jace and his quarry. As the warcat manages a sudden lunge, catching the orc hard by the soldier with his jaws, she fires. The ragdoll shake was next, and knowing her cat, she aims a bit and to the right, connecting with the orc's throat as his body is lifted from the ground. The pair together catch the orc warrior completely unprepared, it's eyes glazing over black and lifeless as it's booted feet hit the ground again, his body continuing the fall to the rough dirt beneath him, no strength or rigidity left to steel his form.

Songan continues his ranged battle with the waves of rampaging orcs, firing off an Arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 at Orc Z but misses close by, the arrow skirting across the hard packed ground.

Omast snarls as he notices even more enemies approaching the defensive line. He lunges out with his Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 at Orc Y, his blade gutting the warrior for Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14, adding the creature's falling body to the makeshift barricade he has amassed to block the ruin caused by the boulder's passing.

Adir regains consciousness, an orc warrior poised before his right leg, Tuzak unmoving at his feet, and Brampton straddling his other leg. Leira stands near his head, looking over at an archer on the barricade. This is not good...

Orc N unsteady on his feet after Brampton's vicious blow, reels back, muttering onu ozluyorum anneni soyle stabbing out with his Falchion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 at Brampton, even as he falls over dead, a feral smile on his battered face, slumped over Adir's foot, the orc dead before he could realize the attack missed it's mark.

Orc P, seeing Leira dodging around the field, healing her allies, chooses to ignore Brampton, or perhaps underestimates the soldier's bec de corbin, and fires an arrow at the ruggedly beautiful sorceress. O Marva kızı olabilir. Brampton however lashes upwards with his Polearm: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11, narrowly missing the archer perched atop the higher ground. The Arrow: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 + 1 = 17 hits narrowly for Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4, the shaft grazing her calf. yazik.

Orc Z moves closer to the log pile, using it as a shield against more arrow shots, then fires on Dundin again, the Arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 missing as the dwarf lumbers about the killing field.

The great lizard ML scampers quickly across the battlefield towards the carnage barrier Omast has been erecting. The thing easily climbs the corpse wall Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16, to hiss a challenge down at the aged fighter, it's jaws dripping blood, saliva, and traces of a slimy green goo.

The lizard's handler rushes along behind it, taking a small gourd from off his belt. He tosses the thing high overhead, the Hollowed Container: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 breaking apart on Omast's leg, fire igniting around him for Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4, with bits of the harsh smelling liquids singing the lizard's snout, only fueling it's rage.

Orc E rushes forwards taking aim at Dundin, throwing a heavy ended Pilum: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 at the dwarf, the shaft puncturing his shield, weighing it down, making it useless to the defender. The barbed head pierces Dundin's arm for Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10, meaty muscle held tight to the inside of the heavy shield.

Orc F likewise rushes up and aims at Dundin, throwing a matching Pilum: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 2 = 6 but misjudges and the weapon flies well past, skittering to land near a small burning hedge.

Orc G seems to work in coordination with his peers, hurling his Pilum: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 2 = 17 at Dundin as well, targeting and smashing the dwarf's shield, nearly ruining it as the head does Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 to the enlarged ranger. The sudden shock and blood loss drops the dwarf to the ground, a wave of fear and horror passing over the group.

Please, can you confirm if the cover protected Dundin?

With too much on her hands, Leira saves her crossbow, freeing one of her hands. With it she casts another acid splash aiming towards the orc fighting Brampgon (P), or if that one is defeated, one at the other side of the barricade like (E).

Round 14
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Hearing Brampton's shout, Adir looks around, trying to get his bearings. He forces himself to regain his footing, only to find Tuzak at his feet, unmoving. Reaching out and speaking a few words in Druidic, he touches Brampton, imparting what strength he can.

Dundin steps forward and left and swings at the lizard. His blow barely misses Omast and the dwarf seems almost embarrassed.

Brampton lunges at Orc P, but his step nearly slips as he moves over Adir, the point of his polearm missing wide and to the left. As he calls out to Adir for aid, the druid manages to wiggle back from under the young warrior and struggle to his feet. The druid reaches out and instills Brampton with a surge of adrenaline and drive, his muscles tensing and bulging from the mystical power.

Delia fires off an arrow over Jace's racing head, the shaft piercing the creature in the taunt muscular bundle behind it's head. The creature fails to show any notice, continuing it's hissing and snapping at those near the wall. The warcat Jace reaches the corpse wall barricade and snaps out at the lizard but fails to make a connection. The lizard jerks back and spits a globule of venom, spittle, and mucus back at the big cat.

Leira tosses off a ball of acid back at Orc E, though the splash barely registers, much of it deflected by the warrior's armor.

Dundin turns and takes a swing at the angry lizard but misjudges the distance, nearly catching Omast off guard. The dwarf moves aside slightly, realizing at the last the old warrior is on fire, much as Dundin had been only a short while before.

The older soldier ducks out of the line of the axe, then lines up a swing with his own heavy blade. Omast focuses solely on the lizard, ignoring the flames clawing at his legs, burning him for Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2. The warrior swings out with his Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 aiming for the reptile's neck, Confirmation: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23, the sword hacking deep into the beast's muscles, Damage: 4d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4) + 12 = 34, it's head dropping to the ground before the pile of orcish corpses.

Songan, wanting to avoid any friendly fire, takes aim and fires an Arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 at Orc E, but misses short as the shaft drops to the dirt shortly after the piled bodies before the barricades.

Orc P drops his bow, moving closer to Brampton, walking precariously atop the barricade. 5' step The orc swings his Double Axe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 but overreaches, dropping the weapon to the ground below.

Orc Z sights in on Dundin one last time, firing a last Arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 before collapsing to the ground, dead from bleeding and blood loss.

Orc D cries out in anger and pain at the death of his pet, pulling a second gourd from his belt, tossing the Alchemist Fire: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 overhead at Omast, the gourd falling: 1d8 ⇒ 1 short atop the dead lizard, exploding and covering himself and Omast in burning shrapnel for 1 HP damage each.

Orc E throws a Pilum: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 at Dundin, the weapon's head breaking off in his chest for Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12, the orc shouting out a cheer to his comrades.

Orc F moves around E and throws a second Pilum: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 at Dundin, the weapon doing Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 as it punches into his shoulder, shattering and sending fragments into the surrounding tissues. Sudden shock and blood loss drops the dwarf to the ground, a wave of fear and horror passing over the group.

Orc G moves over to take the spot of Orc Z, throwing a Pilum: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 at Omast, missing the aged human as the dangerous javelin strikes the ground behind him.

Coming through the gate, Orc Warriors H, I, and J come into view, bellowing calls of support for the others.

Leira shouts in gratefulness as Omast chops down the lizard menacing the group, hoping this is coming to and end.

Her expression changes to horror as she observes the pilums bringing down the dwarf. Then to total defeat as more orcs appear through the gates This here is our end...

She offers the wand to Adir for him to pick it and heal and help without exposing himself.

...but I will not die here without giving up first everything inside me

She moves through the battlefield and sets herself in between Omast and the orcs line over the 4 in the picture, protecting the fallen dwarf and the burning old soldier "You will not pass!"
Focusing on the arcane powers she has remaining she casts burning hands letting a jet of furious flames from her orcish past to engulf her enemies in a last attempt to stop their advance.
