DM Caleth's Immortals (Inactive)

Game Master Saint Caleth

For the greatest of heroes, death need not be the end. A select few are reincarnated, and must discover why they have returned and if there are others like them out among the planes...

Kor is ready to wake up and cleave things with big sword.

Questions for you, Caleth:

- In regards to the items, I would like to keep the glass lamellar armor and amulet of eldritch might from the first campaign. I'm not sure what the pricing is on these two items, but we might want to adjust their abilities to put them in the 4-6k range. For the armor, I would make it +1 or +2. For the amulet...who knows?

- For the third item, I suspect I'll grab a metamagic rod of extend spell (lesser). Another option would be a divination tool (masterwork soothsaying equipment), perhaps with an enchantment such as +5 to related checks.

- Regarding languages, would you prefer I hold onto the Bronze Age languages, or should I pick them fresh?

- Some hit points:
5d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 4, 3) = 21

- As an update to his backstory, I am assuming that Byarsh eventually met divine representatives. His ultimate decision was that the gods were not worthy of replacing the existing traditions, but in turn Byarsh felt compelled to explore the earlier traditions further so as to better defend his philosophies. This dimensional exploration - sometimes on temporally inconsistent planes - has led to some bizarre twists. First, Byarsh has discovered that the spirits he knew from his home world would be classified as "outsiders" elsewhere - philosophical paragons with home dimensions far different from their adopted lands.

Drøm has also changed. The ever-changing energies of the Astral Plane warped his essence and left him as the serpentine quintessence of creation, chaos, and creativity. He now guides Byarsh to explore deeper into the planar fabric to unravel the secrets therein.

Everything else is updated.

Byarsh:

When this game begins it is ~1500 years after the Bronze Age game and remember that your backstory should end with your (preferably violent) death. You can say that Byarsh died during the era of the Bronze Age, or that he wandered the planes for a thousand years before his death, with varying amounts of amnesia Planescape:Torment style. You can decide either way, but your decision will have a large impact on how the world interacts with you in particular.

As for meeting the gods, the intended plot of your game would have taken you to meet Marduk definitely and then maybe to meet some of the other gods, and if everything had gone according to plan you would have discovered the true nature of the gods. The spirits are actually explicitly not outsiders in this setting, since the gods are the divine power from a far off place and the spirits represent the divine power of the material worlds.

You can go either way on the languages, since if Byarsh wandered the planes he might have undergone another bout of partial or full amnesia and picked up other languages, whatever you decide.

You can keep the glass armor as enchanted if you want, probably as a +2 armor. I am not sure what sort of amulets are in the price range that make sense given the original abilities of the amulet.

Azten here, using the alias I'm going to use for this game if I get picked. Still need to pick spells and traits, then move it all to this alias, but I'll have that done real soon.

I have heard from ajkkjjk52, so I think that that accounts for everyone. I am going to make my decision in the next few hours and put up an OOC thread so check back soon.

I have decided on the following party:
Wazoo
Byarsh Guyvualinn
"Traveler" Andrezi
Xor'zel Zer'lam
Akasha
Hegar 'Omir
Jerrie

It was a hard choice, since this is probably overall the best collection of characters I have seen submitted for a PbP. I expanded the party as far as I possibly could (and maybe a little more). Head on over to the discussion thread to sort out the last few things so that we can get started as soon as possible.

Dang. Well, it was tough competition, so I shouldn't be surprised. In any case, have fun, you guys!

Good game to everyone! In case you decide to start a second group or need replacement, I'll be around.

Thanks for the opportunity. Good gaming to the chosen few!

I'll be around too, most likely following the campaign.
