DM Caleth |

As you go about examining the books, you notice eventually that the odd old man has gone, which is strange, because you certainly did not see or hear him leaving the room through any of the doors.

"Traveler" Andrezi |

(Speaking Planar Common and understood in Goblin, Sharrim, and Infernal.)
Direction's Perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 (So much for being at the door.)
Traveler's Perception check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 (Whew.)
Traveler looked at the floor level from his elevated location. "Where's the old man? Why is it getting darker? he asked everyone. I do not know. I do not sense a change in lighting. Direction said from near the doorway.
Traveler heard the sound of a pack of dogs. Eyes narrowing, Traveler cancelled his Scorn Earth and Personal Gravity powers, making a jump to the floor. (Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26) "I hear a large pack of dogs approaching." he loudly warned everyone. I do not. Direction objected. Beyond your range. Get over here. Traveler demanded. The gemstone left its post and began moving back to the center of the room. The redhead bent down and picked up the book with the glass pages from near Jerrie, putting it inside his shirt. "If you want a book, grab it! Then get in a defensive circle," Traveler commanded, looking at the still-hovering Trifling and the goblin, "or a spot where you think you can fight best!" The man held out a hand, sideways, and intercepted the leaping psicrystal. Traveler put his hand at his chest, and the lapis lazuli worked itself back into the man's gold necklace, the pseudolimbs evaporating afterwards. The Elan put the point of his sword, Chaos Bringer, up. "This place is too weird." he muttered. He started manifesting his Inertial Armor power.

Hegar 'Omir |

Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
"I can hear them. I have a problem though. You know how when we all woke up and did not have much of our equipment? Well I have my gun, but unless there is still a bullet in the chamber I have no ammunition." Hegar says to Traveler.

Akasha |

Hrrsskk snaps his head up quickly a trilling noise of alarm causing Akasha to look up from the book as Traveller descends.
"Hrrsskk hears them too, dogs, and many of them."
She places the book on a shelf she can just reach, not having any additional gear other than her weapons and armor, her black/grey short sword drawn in a swift fluid movement as Hrrskk runs to her side taking a predatory stance."
Intiative 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14(let me know if you want me to roll for Hrrsskk too)

"Traveler" Andrezi |

Traveler tossed Hegar his +1 deep crystal longsword. "Here. I can manage, for this battle." he told the hobgoblin. He felt the familiar psychokinetic force of the Inertial Armor wrapping around himself. (Inertial Armor, 5pp for +6 to AC, 5 hours)
When everyone's minds started hearing the deep music emanate from the sword, Traveler was quick to say "Sorry about the music - it's inherent to the forging. It lasts less than three minutes." (Everyone within 15 feet hears this music.)
Traveler prepared to fire an Energy Ray of Fire at the incoming dogs, if that was what they were.

Wazoo |

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Wazoo notices the changes in the environment and grabs his crossbow. He moves to the middle of the group for safety. When he hears the music of the sword, he shakes his head.
Swords should not make music. Wazoo should!
He mutters a bit and casts a spell.
Wazoo casts Detect Magic

Wazoo |

Didn't see anyone picking up this one. If someone did, apologies.
Wazoo grabs the Glass book with his off-hand and continues to cast Detect Magic, hoping to determin what the book does. He shouts at the others.
Book is magic! Keep Wazoo safe and he maybe finds what is going wrong!
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

"Traveler" Andrezi |

(Wazoo, I already wrote that Traveler picked up the glass book and put it inside his shirt. I didn't see a Pickpocket check. :) Okay, I can roll with this.)
The goblin jumped up and grabbed the glass book from Traveler's shirt. "Hey!" he protested. No time to do more than argue; the reptilian dog-things appeared to be coming closer. "It'd be nice if we had more fighters ready." the redhead muttered to the others.
