3 people marked this as a favorite. |

This is my appeal to Paizo to give Michael Kortes more AP chapters to write!
He wrote Haunting of Harrowstone, which is really just about all I ought to have to say. But I'll go on.
From my count, he's written 3 APs and several modules. They all tend to be really highly reviewed -- especially HoH and the old OGL modules Pact Stone Pyramid and Entombed with the Pharaohs.
People always seem to mention Greg Vaughn, Tim Hitchcock, Richard Pett, and a few others as fan favorite authors. I think Michael Kortes belongs on that list!
I hope Paizo can give him a shot at Shattered Star!

Little ones give ideas for all kinds of adventures tho ;)
Letsee.. wizard is slain adventuring and the student decides to study a bit more than strictly allowed... releasing demons and worse... Attic burning, cellars flooded. "I *WISH* someone could be here to help me fix this" ..and enter the players :D
Or alchemical golems. oh wait, those exist already. With stinking clouds too? :D
Or what a collection of tiny fairies get into while terrorising a village. Like stealing babies. Perhaps they are good fairies (and none speak common), because one of the babies is destined to become a great druid.

Aw shucks guys!
What a kind thread - it is nice to be remembered.
Although I have been away and out of the action, writing for Paizo has been awesome. Some of my fondest memories include when Golarion was in its infancy and we were setting adventures in this crazy new campaign setting. I really do hope to get back into adventure writing at some point.
Thanks especially to Trinite for the kind words about Harrowstone. The truth about that particular adventure though is that the reason it had the success that it did was due to the work of Wes, Rob and James Jacobs. Those are the guys who really made it shine and unlike me, they’re not permitted to disappear when life gets busy – thank goodness for that, as I am an avid reader of the AP and modules lines.
I remain envious of my old con-roommates such as Greg V. and Tim H. who are much more prolific that I am. (Rich too, though he’s never been my roomie.) I will hit Greg up for his one-handed typing technique. I can tell you that guy accomplishes more quality in a day than most city districts.
One of my biggest fears is doing a crap job because I don’t have the time to do it right. The bar is too high around here for that. Like many of you, I don’t get to game quite as much as I used to and so when I do, I prefer that it cram in a lot of awesome.
Thanks again!

I asked Mike to do a Pathfinder Module recently and he turned it down due to some (awesome) real-life happenings that made it impossible. We always keep Mike in mind, however, so when he's ready to write more adventures for us, we'll be here.
Mark,
I really appreciate that. I hope to try to get in line and scrape my way back into a new project some day and when I do this is the place.

This is not the first or even the second time this topic has been brought up.
I said it then, I said it several times after, and I'll say it now - Michael Kortes is my favorite module writer, and I suspect has passed the Starstone trial and become the God of Pathfinder modules. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have my suspicions.
I'm actually constantly disappointed that I have not crossed his path at one of the conventions, where else am I sacrifice a goat to him if not at his golden toes?

Here, here! I wanted to add my support to the appeal - 'What Lies in Dust' was one of my favourite installments in the C.o.T Adventure Path. My players loved it! I've played through 'Haunting of Harrowstone' which was awesome. My G.M for H.o.H said it's one of the best horror adventures he's ever read. Please come back and write again Michael, when you can :-D
