Tepti |

She smirks at her blind luck, noting their height and hoping she didn't stand out too much. Deciding against trying to walk past them with her stone with light casted on it she back tracks to another section and tries an adjacent tunnel in the hopes it isn't similarly guarded. However to mark the tunnel she has already explored she kneels down and claws the floor of the tunnel with an 'X' before moving down the next tunnel.

Ti'Itza |

Ti'Itza nods to the Chieftess Tatiana and lowers himself down on his haunches. "I will watch Cheiftess. There are many more ways in but if you wish to wait, we wait. Tepti is strong, she will find her way." He was certain Tepti could handle herself for a long time and he resigned himself to waiting for her return or the coming of the small scales...

Tepti reaches an exit!
After a long corridor there is portal, without door, into a darkness area. You can't see anything beyond the portal.

![]() |

It's magical, a closer illusion aura (in the portal itself) and significant evocation aura in the space beyond.

Tepti |

Tepti grunts, exhaling and turning away from the exit the magic there could be a number of things but the Evocation magic was what she feared. Dying wasn't high on her priority list so she marked the earth with her claws and moved on to finding another exit...
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
So one area with guards, one with illusion and evocation magic. She isn't having much luck. lol

Tatiana Fortuna |

Tatiana makes herself comfortable to wait a reasonable distance away from a tunnel. She won't make camp until afternoon, because maybe they do some more topside scouting before they rest in order to operate at night.

![]() |

They have not seen her.
She manages to "form" behind them, and just outside the portal they grab each other tail, with she grabbing the tail of the last one of them, which doesn't seem to mind. They walk into the darkness.
She notices several steps they take, as a know route, which take them outside a cave, with the sun setting.
In front of you are Ti'Itza and the others.
A group of Kobolds get out of the cave, and face all of you. The first of them hisses.
"What you want? Our Land! No welcome!"

Tatiana Fortuna |

Tatiana smiles and replies, "We are a delegation of the neighboring kingdom and would like to discuss with your leader potentially alliances."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34

![]() |

The Kobolds seems impressed at Tatiana...
"No kingdom, bandits. Only bandits."
He points towards the Stag Lord Lands.

Tatiana Fortuna |

She thought she was using words that the kobold understood. Tatiana tries again pointing to the stag lord lands, "The stag lord is dead. There are no more bandits there. "
this is where the bard who speaks draconic picks up the conversation.

![]() |

The Kobold lokks surprised. The rest of them, except one in the bad, seems surprised.
"You killed bandits?"

![]() |

The is much chatter between the Kobolds at Tatiana's answer...
Anyone speaks Draconic?
A couple of the Kobolds go back into the cave, grabbing their tails before entering.
What does Tepti does about it?
The "leader" of the Kobolds look at you all...
"You here for spy? Want to kill kobolds? Want friends? Want trade?"

![]() |

The Kobolds, in Draconic, marvel at the news, saying that is a very unexpected, and welcome, development, and that the King should be informed, and maybe he will want to receive the "intruders". The captain sends a few of his men to inform the news to his superiors.

![]() |

The Kobold "leader" turns back to you.
"Go away. Return in 3 nights. Bring presents for our leader."

Ti'Itza |

Sorry for lack of response, didn't see any updates. Will connect to my RSS feeds to avoid this again. Again, my fault there Tatiana.
Ti'Itza translates as needed, allowing Tatiana's natural ability to be diplomatic to prove itself. He watches the Kobolds carefully, noting as they watch him in return...

Tepti |

Tepti stands at the rear of the Kobolds, listening quietly and trying to remain unobserved as she faces her companions. She was pleased as things continued on a positive note, she looked to Ti'Itza and gave him a small wave to get his attention while hopefully remaining unobserved at the back of the group...

Secret Messages: You can use Bluff to pass hidden messages along to another character without others understanding your true meaning by using innuendo to cloak your actual message. The DC of this check is 15 for simple messages and 20 for complex messages. If you are successful, the target automatically understands you, assuming you are communicating in a language that it understands. If your check fails by 5 or more, you deliver the wrong message. Other creatures that receive the message can decipher it by succeeding at an opposed Sense Motive check against your Bluff result.
Let's say DC 20, but without change of getting intercepted, because of their positions

Ti'Itza |

Thanks Corsario, I missed that.
Bluff Tepti: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Didn't fail by five or more thankfully.
Perception Ti'Itza: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Ti'Itza looks to Tatiana as the Kobolds starts to make their way back into their warren. "Tepti is here, should she followed them back in?"

![]() |

Wait!
The DC of this check is 15 for simple messages and 20 for complex messages. If you are successful, the target automatically understands you, assuming you are communicating in a language that it understands.
That means Tepti isn't able to make T'Itza realize is her

![]() |

So... as they didn't realize who Tepti is, what do Tepti do?
What do the rest of you do?

![]() |

[Ooc]npcing Eugene for now. Sorry Tatiana.
Seeing no response from her allies she quietly slips away from the white kobolds. Dispelling her disguise the moment there back is turned and slowly moving to the side so it appears she was off to the side the entire time.
stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

![]() |

The Kobolds are unawares of Tepti "transformation", and are still waiting for you to depart.

![]() |

As soon as you start moving out the Kobolds return to their warren.
Seems we are out of Ti'Itza and Tepti. leaving Szymon and Tatiana alone.
What do we do? Do you want to catch up with any of the other two groups? Continue in this "thread"?

Tatiana Fortuna |

Honestly the slow pace has my interest waning. I don't mind waiting for Eugene. Whenever he returns, you can storyboard what has happened with us to align with the campaign timeline and synchronize with the other players. OK? Because I don't want to catch up and crash another thread. Cheers

![]() |

You see the Kobolds disappear into their dark warren, without leaving guards behind.
Do you camp there? Do you return to Sloboda?

![]() |

What Tepti can translate is that this "reptilian" civilization is completely alien to her. She comes from a culture that values individuality and nature, and this Kobolds seems hive-like, with constructions and symbolism completely alien to her and her experiences.
They weren't even able to pinpoint her as an intruder, as if even them can't recognize each other in their sameness.
About the lair, it is clean to a fault, and demonstrates advanced abilities and plenty resources.
And also some lack of security, probably based in a deep rooted confidence if their preparations for an attack or invasion.

Tatiana Fortuna |

We set watches among the five of us: Szymon, Tatiana, Tepti, Ti'Itza and Topper Red.
Tatiana suggests Tepti take the lead with negotiation being able to speak Draconic using the process to translate with Tatiana to support (aid another). "We're looking for allies, trade, farm land, and free passage ways for roads. We need to find out what they need, besides being left alone."

![]() |

The last they told you was:
The Kobold "leader" turns back to you.
"Go away. Return in 3 nights. Bring presents for our leader."

![]() |

You go back to Trivium, and find the place in order and safe.
What kind of gifts do you take? Do you make other preparations?

Tatiana Fortuna |

Tatiana asks Tepti what would be appropriate?
Any news from the other group(s)?
Can I quietly find out what the halfling has been and is up to?

![]() |

Tepti mentions that fresh meat would be a good present for a Lizardmen, but she thinks it won't work on the kobolds, as they seem very alien to her own experience.
You can make a Knowledge roll to try and figure that one out. Maybe Topper Red knows...
Anando politely welcomes you and then leaves, telling you he is very busy with "the matters of the kingdom"
You manage to get from the staff he has been very busy trying to keep the new kingdom finances adding up.

Tatiana Fortuna |

Topper Red attempts to remember anything about kobolds, their history, or potentially any political delegations that may have treated with them.
He uses Lore Master to take 20 on Know(local) 20+12=32
If he(I) could have thought to make him do this before they left, then he could do the other two on the way there and day back. All are once per day.
He uses Lore Master to take 20 on Know(nobility) 20+12=32
He uses Lore Master to take 20 on Know(history) 20+12=32

![]() |

Topper Red scratches his head.
"Those doesn't sound like "normal" Kobolds. They are supposed to be savages and wild, but what Tepti says is clean, organized and very "civilized". But for what I know they value minerals and tools. The more valuable and complex the better."

Tatiana Fortuna |

Tatiana takes the group shopping in their town looking for a set of masterwork mining or crafting tools.

![]() |

You can find some, nothing very fancy. Or you can ask for them to be made, but it will take time (and you are supposed to return on 3 days).
No need to go into detail. The issue here is that you don't find nothing "regal", just "very good".
I am getting worried for T'itza/Tepti too... Already send Blade a PM, to no avail...

Tatiana Fortuna |

Buy and bring the "very good" masterwork tools. Order the "regal" masterwork tools.
Yeah, I don't know
