Did I mention my favorite character is a female cleric of Desna?

Good to know.

So we have THE prophet! I love it! You saved me from doing another npc. We will need to talk about her, and her story feat. It will not be to convert x people, but to fulfill a prophecy, and Desna will keep a close watch on her!

(Read as: Tatiana will be a plot delivery bridge for me :) )

Can I take your enthusiasm as being selected for the game, so I can finish my characters?

I'm still settling of many of the details (such as making them both halflings) and tossing a few other character ideas around but I wanted to run the basics by you asap. You seem to have a grand and specific vision for this campaign and I'm curious if you have any input I might want to work in?

Zorro or the Shadow! Love it! By day a renown artist, by night the innocents protector!

If you go that way we can work in making you have a secret identity. I am getting full of ideas.
The Halfling Green Hornet!
Grand and specific vision? Thanks!
In fact this is my test run :P the grand and specific one will be the next one, in some years. This is Kingmaker, and as such is sandbox, and I want to use your very good character concepts to create a campaign we all enjoy playing. But at heart (if not in the surface) will be Kingmaker, Stolen Lands, create a new River Kingdom, as usual.
Yeah, right, as usual :P

So, I still need to pick story feats. I'm thinking either Blessed or Fearless Zeal for Tarina. I'm not sure what to pick for Venetia maybe Object of Legend or Artifact Hunter. Or perhaps something along the lines of dynasty founder, but instead of a city, it would be the noble house of Medvyed.

"Concubines huh? So I get to have a harem?"

I put that one thinking on the Medvyed girls, in fact ;)

Well you at least seem to have some rather strong preferences :P

Glad you like my concept though. I had initially been thinking more of a master of disguise type but the secret identity angle has me totally intrigued. I'll have to see if I can make this work!

Or invent your own. Be creative. Just make it similar powered to the "official" ones.

Ok, so here's the equipment lists for the Medvyed girls

Venetia:
Noble Scion Bonus: 2,250 GP
Gold: 24,000 GP (including magic items)
Magic Items Limit:
1 up to 8,000 GP
1 up to 4,000 GP
6 up to 2,000 GP
2 wands maximum
10 potions/scrolls maximum

Belt, Bladed (+1 Grayflame) 9k*
Headband of Alluring Charisma +2 4k
+1 Flail 2,308 gp*
+1 Heavy Steel Shield 1,170 gp
+1 Full Plate 2,650 gp*
Muleback Cords 1k
+1 Longbow 2,375 gp*

1 Wand of Cure Light Wounds 750 gp

2,997 gold left after magical items

Sanctified Rings 5 gp (pair)
Holy Symbol Tattoo 300 gp (tramp stamp) (This normally costs 100 gp for black only, but I increased the cost so that it could be a color tattoo)
Paladin's Kit 11 gp
Noble's Clothing + Jewelry 175 gp

2,506 gp remaining

Tarina:
Gold: 10,000 (Including magic items) Unless she gets more for being level 6, but I won't count on that.
Magic Items Limit:
1 up to 3,000 GP
3 up to 1,000 GP
3 up to 500 GP
1 wands maximum
5 potions/scrolls maximum

+1 Mithral Chain Shirt 2,100 gp
Belt, Bladed 1k
Muleback Cords 1k
+1 Light Steel Shield 1,159 gp*

3 Potions of Alter Self 500 Gp each (Caster Level 5)

3,241 gp left after magical items

Oracle's Kit 9 GP
Authoriative Vestments 450 gp (Is it possible that while these have the same function as normal, they are a little more...revealing?)

2,782 gp remaining

Anything with an asterisk is over the limit for the slot it is counting for, but I was hoping that the base cost of the mundane item in these cases does not effect the magic item limit.

Let me be open here. Right now I can't think in one of the proposed characters that I wouldn't pick, and I am really tempted to make a "cut" and accept all/most of them and keep the recruitment open just to keep my word and get one or two more characters.

Let me check the number of submissions, confirm all are OK, and proceed to officially accept you.
Anyway, I want to thank all of you. Your submissions have been great.

Turns out that I would have to make Jay LN to even have one. As awesome as designing my own familiar would be, I am already making enough characters for Janus as is. I already have an alchemist in the works for his Level 3 follower!

As such, I will grab a Faerie Dragon. I will say the they met when Janus ventured into the Greenbelt looking for his mother. Besides, this lets met put Jay at Neutral Good, which I like considerably more than Lawful Good. More flexibility.

Your character, your call. But I can propose this: if you go the "secret identity" concept we can give him an "heirloom" magic item that takes care of the disguise part of the problem.

Yes, I have very strong preferences, heroic actions, characters that are bloody, bold and resolute. High adventure. Men that are real men, women that are real women, and little furry creatures from alpha centaury that are real little furry creatures from alpha centaury.

Yes, I fear I ruled like that :S

I'll need to make sure everybody gets his equipment with that "advantages".

Fair enough. I went ahead and invested the time to mostly finish both characters.

So does that mean that their equipment is fine, or do I need to either get access to the crafting feats for the items over value or reevaluate my lists?

Also, how does this sound for a story feat?

Spoiler:
Arshea's Herald (Story)

Early in your life, you were visited by Arshea in your dreams and she told you that she had great things in mind for your future. Now, you have dedicated your life to helping Arshea ascend to godhood much like Sarenrae did.

Prerequisite(s): Must be Tarina.

Benefit(s): So long as you maintain your Celestial Obedience, your form suggests the best traits of both the masculine and the feminine. Your lithe body is physically ideal with a flawless combination of lean muscles and soft curves. While your body is still far from that of Arshea herself, you consider any non-asexual intelligent creature as one who could be sexually attracted to you.

Goal: Help Arshea ascend to godhood. In the process of completing this task, you must decisively defeat a challenging foe that seeks to deny Arshea godhood.

Completion Benefit(s): Your type changes to fey and you gain the Nymph's "Unearthly Grace" ability.

If anyone gets access for items over the posted limits, I would appreciate the opportunity to repurchase my gear with their rules. As it is, both my characters comply with the original limits.

cheers

Sorry if I didn't say it at the beginning (but I have said it before) the followers only NPC classes. It can be an expert alchemist, but not and "alchemist".

Shadow Lodge

If Tarina gets access to craft magic arms and armor, she could theoretically craft everything that is over limit on my list as long as I reallocate skill points to spellcraft. She has the caster level, and the spell needed for the one item that is not simply a +1 item, she would just need to add 5 to the DC because she doesn't have the feat Channel Smite. That means she would need to hit DC 16 spellcraft. If I reallocate her skill points she could have a +8 spellcraft modifier.

However, I know that a certain dwarf cohort (the hellknight's, Hraggar Stoneshaper) will already have craft magic arms and armor, but they won't be CL 6.

Leave your equipment as is for now.

About the story feat: Real nice, only one change... you don't know which are going to be the completion benefits... ;)

**** News flash ****

I will change the equipment conditions.
Don't worry, I only intend to make them clearer for everyone involved.
Your equipment as is should be ok, but with the new ones maybe you will be able to upgrade the items a little.
That goes for everyone, not only some characters.

Corsario wrote:

Oh, I'm fine with that, I wasn't really entirely sure what to put as completion benefits anyway, and I wasn't really expecting you to allow that for a completion benefit, mainly cause I would have pointed out that with that Tarina would have Charisma to AC no fewer then three times.

She already has it in place of her dexterity modifier, her obedience gives her it in place of armor (@16 HD), and Unearthly Grace would give her charisma as a deflection bonus.

The benefit of the story feat before completion may be a bit lacking, but I like the flavor of Arshea basically turning Tarina into a bit more gender neutral character that appeals to a wider array of sexual appetites, even if she is harder to seduce then her mother.

With her story feat, Tarina won't need the potions of alter self (they were there to allow her to sex change).

Alright. I suppose I can put the followers on the backburner and work on my cohort.

So I am a little lost about the new item cost ruling. What exactly has changed?

Shadow Lodge

I don't believe he's given us the new rules yet.

Liberty's Edge

No haven't give the new rules yet... here they are:

Premise: I mess up. The original question was: If my $1,000 mundane sword gets an $3,000 enchantment does it counts like $4,000 magic item or $3,000 magic item?

My answer, that now I see opened a can of worms, was: $3,000

My bad. I should have said $4,000. Ok I will live with the error.

But I don't like accounting, so I don't want to deal with a "disclosed itemized components price list", so...

New Limits. This time they applies for ALL EQUIPMENT, magical or not, TOTAL PRICE of the item. For magic items prices consider somebody in your team has the correct creation feat, so your buy cost is half if the prerequisites are met (caster level 7, for example). if not you pay full price. You will be required to have the feats in each team, so we will need to "fix" the feats when we have the teams.

For the Main Characters, at level 7:

Gold: 24,000 GP (including everything)
Items Limit:
1 up to 10,000 GP
1 up to 5,000 GP
All the rest up to 2,500 GP
Maximum 8 magic items (all prices ranges), not counting wands, potions or scrolls.
2 wands maximum
10 potions/scrolls maximum

For the Cohorts, the secondary characters (level 5):

Gold: 10,000 (including everything)
Items Limit:
1 up to 4,000 GP
3 up to 1,500 GP
All the rest less than 1,000 GP
Maximum 6 magic items (all prices ranges), not counting wands, potions or scrolls.
1 wands maximum
5 potions/scrolls maximum

For the followers:
Level 1: 300 GP (including everything)
No magic items
Level 2: 1,000 GP (including everything)
No magic items except up to 3 potions or scrolls
Level 3: 3,000 GP (including everything)
1 magic item maximum, 1,000 GP or less, not counting wands, potions or scrolls
1 wand maximum
3 potions/scroll maximum

If you are not "fleshing out" the followers to the "equipment" level, we will imagine they have the correct normal equipment for their job, with no magic items, except for 1 cure light wounds potion for level 2's and 3 potions for level 3's (2 cure light wounds + 1 of your choosing of 1,000 GP or less).

Hrmm; While I'm cool with handling a character and a cohort, I'm not huge on having to manage a dozen followers. It's why usually when I take Leadership my followers are off doing non-plot related things. Might consider dropping out, I'll have a think.

Liberty's Edge

Tomorrow I will make list of characters, and tell you which ones are accepted.

I hope you decide to stay.

Remember: the followers are at the level of detail you want them to be, and are not characters, they are NPC s and don't "go out" adventuring.
You will "game" your character and cohort only (and normally on different adventures at the same time).

If you're selecting characters now (as opposed to the end of the month like first indicated), should I rush to finish up Janus then?

Shadow Lodge

Looks like Venetia will need different Armor or it won't be +1 at least.

How far can I go with a custom story feat? Mine would be founding a new order of knights. Probably go with Order of the Lance, dedicated to justice at all costs. Benefit could be +1 to attack and damage with a lance, +1 bonus to saves when fighting against those who oppose justice. Goal would be building a keep + quarters for the new order and finishing a group of knights through training and a crisis, something to define them. Completion benefit could be a custom Order and have my dragoon levels count as cavalier levels for cavalier abilities and Order.

Everything look right?

Since it's looking like our cohorts have a tendency towards magical, I will balance things with a martial, though this could change depending on the needs of the party. Initial stuff about him, will crunch when I have time.

Michael the cohort, please read, especially Dylos and Crazy Yodler:

Name: Michael Surtova
Class: Paladin (Oath of Vengeance and/or Shining Knight)
Deity: Ragathiel
Background: Michael was meant to be a crusader. Not just a force for good, but a sword. Unfortunately, the code of the paladin has no place in House Surtova, even in its septs. The nation itself is not much better. Here they worships gods of war, death, and gold. If you want crusade, go to Mendev.

When it came time to squire the boy, it seemed he would be another embarrassment. Who would take a boy that insisted on following both letter and spirit, plus he heritage was obviously not pure. Those hair and eye, not natural. Another nation, perhaps another house, these would be gifts, but not here.

A solution was suggested. A wandering priest, a servant of Erastil who traveled the whole of the country. There was a knight who traveled with him who did not yet have a squire. Yes. The boy would be squired and out of the way. Perfect.

And so Michael was apprenticed to Salereon and introduced to the motley crew of Garren the wanderer. And life was good. Garren was wise, teaching restraint, patience, and mercy. In many ways a father to him. Salereon a brother, training, teasing, laughing. Gerad, the barbarian mystic, showing a frustrated boy the power of righteous fury and that there was more than the faiths of Brevoy. Others would also prove instrumental in forming his character.

The Knight-Errant Malor showed they were not alone. There were many who chose honor, true honor, and the scorn of others could not take that away. Another would later guide him to a most important choice.

Unfortunately, all good things must end. A message had come that a village near Icerime Peak, one they had visited before, was plagued by a hill giant. Naturally the party came. Near their destination they were joined by a lady knight and her daughter. While their followers camped in the village, the heroes made plans and made their way up. A mighty company it was, knights and mystics, paladins and witches. And then came sorrow. It was not one giant and they were not from the hills, though a hill giant was present in their band, as a slave.

The frost giant's ambush was swift and deadly. Horses died, men fell, and giants laughed. As the leader buried his axe in Garren's chest he boasted "Your enemies pay me for what I would do for free. Fools." That was a mistake. Fury overcame the companions and when the battle was finished no giant drew breath. Who dealt the final blow? None can say. Who payed them? The companions wonder still.

In the days that followed, Michael could not be consoled, for he began to wrestle with his faith and even soul. Deadeye is a noble diety, but it was not enough. Vengeance burned in his heart, and that has no place with the god of family and home. And so he turned to Venetia. She was noble, but far different from any paladin he had ever met. Her patron was righteous but not numbered among the gods. Was there no one who would accept his blade and grant him vengeance?

Ragathiel was her answer. And when Michael knelt in prayer and open his heart, he found the being he was destined to serve. Honor and justice, but also vengeance, and a heart the well understood the difficult path of embracing fury and righteousness.

Malor, I like Salereon and you being together. Hopefully I will have an updated background with some more details on their tournament and what lead to it.

Name: Thaddeus Trelane
Class: Summoner (Master Summoner)
Race: Human
Alignment: Recovering LN (LG)
Feats: Leadership, Shamed

Backstory in Short:
Raised as a travelling magician, told he was a noble bastard. Became an adventurer. Arrogant, honor and self-obsessed lawful neutral. Fathered a son, decided to leave him to be bullied to toughen him up. Discovered he wasn't royal and that his honor was worthless and that he had lost his son. Breakdown and epiphany, became Lawful Good, answered the Charter to redeem himself and to find his son.

Backstory:
Born into a travelling troupe of entertainers, Thaddeus's childhood was spent half in Port Ice entertaining the royal House Surtova, and half travelling the countryside entertaining villages and towns. Thaddeus was raised by his mother, a relatively young woman but worn down by the furious pride she felt; from birth, she told Thaddeus that he was the son of a great man in House Lodovka, whom she would not say, and that she had been abandoned with her bastard. Despite this, she firmly believed in the principles of honor, teaching Thaddeus that by holding himself to high standards always he would receive the greatness promised to him by his birthright and honor. Thaddeus had a difficult child; his mother regularly beat and tormented him to 'make him strong, like your father', and the troupe children did not take kindly to him, feeling him stuck-up and thinking that he was better than everyone else- which was quite true. Thaddeus looked down on the country bumpkin he was forced to entertain for half the year, eagerly awaiting until he could return to Port Ice and entertain and talk and learn more of the nobles and people of honor there. Most specifically among them was Irina Surtova, one of the younger members of the house and daughter of one of the house's lesser members. He admired her both for her beauty and for her potential as a stepping-stone; while her current power was weak, through listening to the courtly gossip Thaddeus knew that the line of succession between the current house ruler and her was shorter than most suspected.
Shortly after he became an adult, he began to develop magic. He and his mother had long entertained audiences with pieces of trickery and deception, but genuine power began to grow within him, manifesting in his ability to create and control creatures from thin air, as well as a small brown birdlike creature with an abnormally long neck he named Thaddeus. Not long after this, his mother fell ill and died. Seizing the opportunity, Thaddeus sold the caravan and most of his mother's belongings and began the life of an adventurer, focused on earning honor and prestige to help him one day claim his birthright, as well as return to Surtova and ask for Irina's hand in marriage. He did not unduly miss his mother, regarding her more as a trial to be overcome to improve himself. He continued as an adventurer for several years (meeting other players?), a somewhat self-obsessed man of honor.

During this time, while travelling through a village near the Awerza river pretending to be a travelling magician, he met and fell in love with a young elven woman named Kelha, a farmer. His usual arrogance fell away in her presence, and the two conceived a child. Before the child was born, Thaddeus left one one more adventure, a well-paying job he felt he could not afford to pass up. He returned half a year later, to find his son born, and Kelha insane from the birth and a mangled dose of the relaxing herbs prescribed by the midwife. Examining his bastard, Thaddeus's arrogance reasserted himself, and he decided to leave the child there in the care of his mother. Being a bastard, being a half-elf and being raised by a madwoman would lead to an extremely tormented childhood and, he hoped, a stronger child for it. He left his hat, embroidered with his name, hidden in her cottage and told the villages the child was named Nathaniel, then left.

Continuing with his life as an adventurer for several more years, Thaddeus very occasionally returned to the village to see his son, but making no claim on his parentage. One visit, unknown to him, his son spotted him conversing with his Eidolon.

By now, the first streaks of grey appearing in his hair, Thaddeus had decided that he had amassed enough wealth and prestige to seek his birthright. He had saved villages, killed bandits, always honored his word and deferred to lords and sheriffs, and gained a reputation. He headed to Acuben Isle, the home of House Lodovka, to confirm what he had long known: that he was of royal blood. Two months in Winterbreak was enough, however, for him to discover that he was wrong. His mother had never visited the Isle, all bastards were known and accounted for, and he shared no resemblance whatsoever to any member of the House Lodovka. Shocked and despairing, Thaddeus asserted himself and returned to Port Ice, to House Surtova, arriving as an adventurer of some renown, and great honor. Seeking a private audience with the still unwed lady Irina, he prostrated himself and spoke of his long admiration for her, his great wealth and honor, and his hopes that she would proffer her hand in marriage. She laughed at him, left and returned with her father, who alternated between furious indignation that a low-born person like Thaddeus would even dare ask for her hand and laughter that he had. Guards were summoned and Thaddeus was kicked out onto the streets.

Feeling completely numb, Thaddeus managed to make his way to Kelha's village, to see his son: the one thing it seemed he still owned in this world. He found Kelha had died, and his son had left the village; he arrived to an empty house. Thaddeus's worldview and life to this point was in ruins. His precious honor was worthless, his son was missing and had been horribly tormented by his own design... what had he done. Thaddeus emerged from the cottage a new man; he realized that honor in and of itself meant nothing, it only had value when it was used to do good, to help others (not sure how to get more meaningful here but, basically, he becomes Lawful Good).

Thaddeus spent two more years adventuring and seeking out his son. His arrogance lost, he began to attract a few followers, who appreciated the care he now showed towards others, and his degree of selflessness. After still not finding his son, Thaddeus has decided to answer the call of the Sword-Lords; founding a land based on principles of good honor rather than selfish honor seem to him to be the best way to redeem himself for what he allowed himself to become, and for what he has done to his son.

Personality:
Previously arrogant, self-absorbed but honorable, always following his given word, prideful and not very interested in others, punishes those who break their own word as best he can. After his great shock, still arrogant and prideful but visibly trying to be less so, willing to help others without monetary compensation, still follows his word but doesn't punish those who break theirs, more interested in others and compassionate. Holds himself to a high standard of honor- he does not lie, cheat, deceive or stab an enemy in the back. He has little compunction about leaving such things to his friend, however.

Thaddeus Description:
Thaddeus has cropped short hair and a short black goatee; then age set in, and white and grey now vastly outnumbers the black. He wears long thick leather travelling clothes, sleeves rolled up in hot weather; a hooded cloak covers his head and shoulders. A thin dagger is at his side, a second hidden beneath his clothing pressed into the small of his back. A thick leather rucksack lies on his shoulders beneath his cloak. Underneath his armor is a chain metal undershirt.

Any word on what you think of my changes to the Soundstriker?

I'll think of a burn location. Maybe one or both arms/hands so she just wears long gloves alot. Actually that might make sense with the obedience requiring dipping the hands in water and raising them up.

Makes sense. It's pretty convoluted that whole thing anyhow. She's glad to be away from it all. A few frowny folks isn't as bad as siblings trying to kill her. Besides, since we're seasoned adventurers/heroes, that stigma may not be as bad as it could be.

Damn! What a great idea! She saved someone or won an adventure (or something as significative as that by grabbing something from fire, burning her hands in the process! Now she wears those long gloves at all times (I sense a special magic item coming) except when she does her "thing" at night. It causes her pain to do it, not cold.

Well, you need to start thinking politics, and stuff as to be a "spawn" of Baba Yaga and an "traitor spy" from Irrisen can be very useful for your political rivals.

Sounds good. She may have been healed from the bonfire burns, but her skin being reformed, so to speak, still made her vulnerable to fire. She found this out later on in her adventures when she did that thing (whatever it ends up being) you suggest and received permanent (non-healable) scars.

If several levels of helping people out doesn't work... sheesh. She won't be too heavily into politics as she will do what she thinks is the right thing regardless of what it may be (perhaps her consort/cohort will be more involved in dealing with such things a la "You dare! You sir are a cad! I demand satisfaction!")

Reminder: I'm off for the week. I might be able to check posts here, but am not sure.

Shadow Lodge

Seems more and more Empyreal lords are being chosen as deities in this group.

Pretty brave to make a paladin of Ragathiel, his is a hard obedience to keep. Better yet, apparently he is the son of an Archdevil! Suddenly, Ragathiel makes sense to me.

Also, for what it's worth, Venetia lacks religious knowledge, Tarina would be more likely to recommend another Empyreal Lord, but she is so dedicated to Arshea she might try to lead anyone asking about the Empyreal Lords that way.

Shadow Lodge

As twisted as it might seem, I think I've figured out Venetia's story feat, True Love (Tarina). This will make more sense with her full history, which I am in the process of writing currently. But basically, the explanation is simply this: Tarina is the only person Venetia has ever truly loved.

Arshea seems to accept such a relationship, and I had intended to put subtle hints that certain things happen between the two women on occasion, but it's really the only story feat I see fitting Venetia, her love for her daughter is truly her strongest motivation for everything that she does.

Corsario

Why are you limiting the number of wands? Beyond 1st level, they are pretty expensive even with Craft Wand.

cheers

Preliminary draft of Venetia(and Tarina)'s history, mainly concerning the mother, but it would be impossible to tell without the daughter.

I did not include anything beyond age 37/20 for the women, so there are still 3 years to cover, those three years would be most of the time spent with the others, however Venetia might have spent time with some of them before during her youth.

My story and my child:
Born into a family that reveres nature, it would not have been odd for Venetia to become a druid or even a ranger, but instead, she became a Paladin, not of Erastil which might have been expected, but of Arshea, the Empyreal Lord of Freedom, Physical beauty and Sexuality. Why Arshea accepted the young Medvyed girl as a Paladin was a mystery, for at times it would seem that Venetia would only use her worship of Arshea as an excuse for her nymphomania. However, as Arshea’s influence guides mortals to experience love and sexuality in whatever manner they desire, provided the experience is harmless or mutually agreed upon, so long as Venetia upheld her Paladin oath, she seemingly kept in Arshea's good graces.

However, despite her families ties with the wild fey, Venetia knew that her family would not approve of her difference in morals. The fey would accept her, but her own family would not, and so Venetia became an adventurer in order to keep her habits secret from her family.

Shortly after becoming an adventurer however, Venetia found herself pregnant, at the age of seventeen. She had no idea who the father of her child was when she found out that she was pregnant, for she had had perhaps one too many trysts. For the first time in her life, she seriously prayed to Arshea, she wanted her child to be born strong enough to survive a life of adventuring, for she knew that if she took the child back to her family she would be dishonored and disowned, her family could not know of her heir, at least not yet.

In time, Venetia gave birth, to a beautiful baby girl, and to her surprise, the child was half elven. She named the child Tarina, and although she had a better idea of who the girl's father was now, she cared not, for this child was her's and Arshea's to raise. Despite having a small child, Venetia did not stop adventuring, she did her best to raise her daughter, but she couldn't stay in one place for very long, for fear that her family might found out about Tarina and possibly take the child away from her, for Tarina's beauty was something inhuman, perhaps it was her elfin blood.

But life would never be simple for Venetia and Tarina, for at the age of twenty-three, when her daughter was but six years old, the light faded from Tarina's eyes. Tarina had woken in the middle of the night, panicy and alarmed her mother, most of all because the child was speaking in Celestial. Tarina's eyes were now a clouded white where they had previously been a bit more of an emerald green, and she said something that disturbed Venetia, "Arshea visited me, she said she would take my vision and in times of duress my language, but in return I was destined for greatness.", luckily Venetia already knew the language of the Celestials at this time and was able to understand the child, even in times of duress, but she feared for her child.

For the first time in her life, Venetia was angered. Although Arshea had given her child the strength to survive a life of adventuring at such a young age, she had claimed the child's vision and forced her to speak and understand only Celestial in times of duress. This was Venetia's child, not Arshea's, but it seemed that Arshea would be a larger influence on the child's life then even Venetia could have guessed.

For Arshea had told Tarina even more then Tarina cared to share with her mother, Tarina was to become Arshea's herald. It would not be Venetia's family that would take her daughter from her, it would be her own 'god', in exchange for the strength to survive such a hectic life, Arshea wanted something from the child, Tarina was to help Arshea ascend to the ranks of godhood, no longer to be a mere Empyreal Lord. Tarina knew that she could not tell her mother or anyone this, and so for the rest of the child's life it has been her secret.

Venetia however could not accept that her child had lost her vision, she prayed for Arshea to return the child's vision to it's former strength. Arshea did not listen, and Venetia tried many different ways to restore the child's vision, until Tarina told her to stop. "I'm fine mother, don't worry, I can get through this." By the time Venetia would accept that there was nothing she could do to restore her child's vision, Venetia's hair had grown white, and she was thirty-five years of age, her daughter now eighteen.

However, at the age of eighteen, Arshea gave Tarina a new gift, she perverted the half elf's body, mixing traits of masculinity and femininity, giving the child more refined muscles and softer curves, her body was not unlike that of Arshea herself. Tarina would spend the next couple years as a man, wearing men's clothing even with her slightly feminine form, insisting that her mother call her Arrin instead of Tarina. Venetia accepted this change much more rapidly then the previous changes and agreed to calling her child Arrin for a time. Venetia understood that sometimes this was a part of growing up for someone who worshiped Arshea, Tarina/Arrin was exploring her/his gender identity, and in time she/he would pick the identity that suited her/him best.

Eventually, Tarina/Arrin decided on Tarina, being a woman suited the half elf more then being a man, but it was only after spending two years as Arrin that Tarina decided to be Tarina.

I hope everyone likes it.

Ok, I will "accept" some characters because I understand I am asking for much work just to say "Thanks for applying, you were not selected". So, by accepting several characters, I am telling you: "Yes, please, finish all the work, because you are IN!".

On the other hand, I have not got the quantity of applications I was hoped for, but the QUALITY! I am getting real good applications! So I don't want to lose them.

So, 7 accepted (just mentioning the main character):

BinkyBo -> Arv Akul'mar
Dylos -> Venetia Medvyed
GM Arkwright -> Thaddeus Trelan
Jubal Breakbottle -> Szymon Wojcik
Lloyd Jackson -> Salereon Gavriil
P33J -> Marius du'Caat
PwntQ -> Malor Ginty

Your name is not on the list? Maybe is down here:

CrazyYodler -> Gerad Jortem
Cosmic Dream Lord -> Janus Sevenstar
Dark Netwerk -> Rhasadilara Wynterfall
Edeldhur -> Reknar
Otm-Shank -> Unnamed Inquisitor
Sai Ling (Qorin) -> Edrawn

You 6 still miss something, crunch and/or Cohort, but you have your spot reserved IF you do your homework.

So, congratulations, you 13 are in! Thanks for submitting you wonderful ideas.

We still need teams, alias and get all things ready, but you can be clear you are in.

That means I have at least 1 more character to accept. So, if you haven't made your proposal yet, you are still on time. But the window is closing, so I recommend you hurry up.

Janus Sevenstar wrote:

Yes, please, as well as you cohort and followers.

But with the tranquility you are in the campaign already. Congratulations!

Sounds nice... please try an write it more "standard"-like, so I can compare it with others, and propose changes.

BTW: Congratulations on being selected. Don't forget Calene's alias.

Looks neat!

Why so many holy symbols?
We need to make sure your team has all the creation feats.
About the hit points, you have 84 HP, full HP for each level.
Congratulations on Salereon! Hope we do it better than last time!

Looking good!

And congratulations, you are in!
Do aliases, finish the work.
We have Riker on the house! Yeah!
Loved Irra drawing. It gives the idea. Do her alias.
About Soundstiker, the last proposal you made sounds ok, but please put it in the right wording and format so I can compare it, and give proposals about it. Just to make clear: Should not be overpowered, nor an esay way to destroy weapons and spell pouches.

We will fine tune the story, no problem.

Because: Congratulations! You are in! We just need to finish the cohort and everything.
Well, you have to steel Rhasadilara, because there will be politics ahead, and she will need to rise to the occasion (and her consort/cohort too).
Don't worry, your stop is here, waiting for you.

I like the idea, it seems like a good Story feat for her, but I would like to propose a change.

Goal: Do the ultimate sacrifice for the one you love.
Do you like it? (And it doesn't necessarily means that she die for her daughter, but maybe let her go, or let her be, or something we figure out in the campaign).
BTW: Congratulations! I wouldn't miss the Medvyed's girls in this campaign for anything!

I thought it was a good idea to have a limit in the consumable magic items category. Why? Want to carry more than the limit?

BTW: Congratulations! You are in! I am a sucker for weddings, so I am anxiously awaiting Szymon and Tatiana one!

Orderfounder (Story)

Prerequisite(s): You must have been cast out of or left a cavalier order. You must still retain a code of honor and wish to found a new knightly order.

Benefit(s): +1 to attack and damage when using the lance.

Goal: Construct a headquarters for your new order. Train and raise a group of cavaliers. Then accomplish a great feat with them, to gain your new order recognition. This could be stopping an attacking horde, fending off invaders, etc. Something that's done as a mass battle or with the army as a backdrop while you fight an enemy leader.

Completion Benefit(s): You count your character level as your cavalier level for any abilities you have that use them. (Possibly in addition switch current cavalier order for custom one, per GM approval.)

This work?

New team

Congratulations on being named to the first team. It's a great honor. I haven't read your characters yet and don't assume you've read mine. We should start with a few things:

1. We should brief each other on our characters. The important points are the crux of your background and personality, your character's role in the adventuring team, and access to any Item Creation feats. That's what I'd need to know.

2. Per the introduction, we need to document two descriptions of previous adventurers to get a feel for our team. We need some ideas. Maybe we have a name for our team. Anyone want to volunteer to actually write it?

3. I would suggest we also document why we all decided to take this commission to settle the Stolen Lands as a prologue.

Here's my answers to these three points:
1. Szymon Wojcik is an Aldori swordlord and home-based in Restov. He followed his lost brother adventuring. He is the tank of the team. His personality is that of an honorable scoundrel like Han Solo or Mal Reynolds in Firefly/Serenity. He used to be a ladies man but recently fell in love with his cohort, a cleric of Desna with Craft Wands. There's a naughty pun in there if you like.

2. One of our two missions should be underground to get a feel for cramped quarters and lack of light. The second could be based in a city. Does anyone know any appropriate adventures well? You could script an encounter for us.

3. The Stolen Lands are near Restov and Szymon's parents. His cohort wants to settle down and adventurous enough to talk Szymon into the idea of taking this commission.

cheers

Um. Yes, wands are 15 gp per use compared to scrolls of 25 and 50 for potions. They're more cost effective but expensive because you have to buy them in Costco sizes of 50 charges. Our gold will limit our purchase of them.

Yes, there will probably be a wedding. Szymon will be a reluctant groom. Tatiana wants to ensure that he's the right guy first.

Well, in the future you will be able to make them "on demand".

Just try not to exceed on them.
