This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

EDIT- I keep forgetting about the silly summoned Lantern Archon! HAs it been 6 rounds? (I'm thinking that Justin has gone through at least 6 rounds worth of actions at this point) If at least close, I guess we should say that it fades about now? ;P

Justin yanks the door open. There is a small continuation of the landing, then the stairs descend. He can hear the gibbering of demonic voices and he gets an unpleasant whiff of noxious fiend gas. He goes to the head of the stairs and sees the party involved with two of those nasty demons like they had fought in the Outlands. A khaasta stands cowed and sullen by Issac.

I think Mr. Archon is just about done.

The summoned archon is no where to be seen

Isaac wracks his brain for what he may know about these monsters.

Seph virtualy jumps out of his fur at the sudden shouts coming from behind him. Trying his best to regain some dignity in front of pounce he turns to face the stranger "Yes my sister and friends are going to free you all as for where they are There in that big tower over that way." He points in the general direction of the tower.

"I am glad to see you managed to keep yourself in one piece, Justin," she said, smiling just a little.

And then she breathed slowly in an then out, focusing her mind as she took aim at one of the remaining evil creatures.

"What rest of the tower?" Merle responds "Hmph typical wizard always show up when all the work is done." She actually seems mildly suprised that she was able to finish the sentence as if expecting someone to interupt her.

These nasty things are Dretches, the squamous footsoldiers of the Abyss. Issac has seen plenty of them in the entourage of demonic bashers strolling through the Cage. Known to be kind of dim-witted, they are tough to kill with non-magical weaponry. They also smell like a Xaositect's loincloth, but that's already pikestaff plain.

I am going to assume that Drazek is fully DMPCable now, until you tell me otherwise Mark. Davi, good intro for Quinn. Swire is nauseated for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 rounds, but he is out of the gas range now. Everyone else in the circles: I need a new DC 13 Fort save to avoid the nauseated condition

Tiandra and Drazek both begin retching from the noxious fumes. Bethany remains singing and Phaumee attacks the nearest demon:

I believe Karrin would need a round to regain her feet after falling in battle. Is this correct? If so, we can move to Round Nine after I get those new Fort saves ..

I needed a 4 or better. I roll a 3. The dice roller hates me.

Ekuur, totally unprepared for the wave of stench while healing Karrin, recoils and gags. He loses his breakfast on the floor, and tries to back away.


Male Half-elf (Planar) Ranger 5/Rogue 2/Plane Walker 1

I'll post my action to keep things rolling when the time comes. Isaac moves to m9 while drawing his greatsword to confront the nearest dretch, moving through Swire's square and taking attacks of opportunity from the dretch. My ac is 24 vs AoO due to the mobility feat. He will then attack, assuming he isn't overcome by the funk.
Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Isaac keeps his breakfast!
The half-elf pulls his handkerchief up around his mouth and nose, brazenly running around Swire and the demon while pulling out his two-handed sword. Nearing the beast, he swings....
Frost greatsword w/ bard song: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 222d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 = 12

Karrin slowly gets to her feet and then proceeds to vomit a surprising amount of sick. A normal sized Karrin seems to eat her weight in food every day a giant sized Karrin seems to have enough vomit to cover 20/20 foot area.

Issac's massive sword carves into one of the dretch's ribcage, the wound crackling with frost. The demon howls piteously, but stays upright.

Issac's mind suddenly flashes back to the black-and-vermillion robed khaatsa that swan dived off the stairway. He had assumed the robed lizard had perished in the fray after tumbling off the stairs, but a quick glance about makes him realize that there is no corpse to be seen.

Justin raises an eyebrow and sniffs derisively. It is is plainly heard over even the sounds of battle and the sounds of his upchucking comrades.

"Work? Nap?!. Riiiiiiight. While ALL of YOU where lolly-gagging around down here at the front door, I was clearing the rest of the tower! By myself, I might add." he says with a smirk in Drazek's and Bethany's direction.

"Oh. If you want to check the rest of the tower for anything valuable, you should probably hurry. The top of the tower is, um, kind of on fire." He says as he distractedly throws another force bolt into the nearest Dretch.

Force Bolt (As Magic Missile)
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

"What?!?" He says testily at the looks some the others give him. "It's not MY fault! How could I have known that those crates were filled with ballista bolts and Alchemist's Fire? And when the cat dumped the boiling water on me, I just,... Sort of,... Oh, Just hurry up!" He grumbles.

"Who summoned these animated Otyugh droppings anyway?" Justin complains in an attempt to change the conversation,...

Before I post actions I just want to check would Merle know enough about summoning to know whether these things should have disappeared after the summoner has been killed.

His spear stabs true. Another of the rancid fiends falls, rapidly dissolving into noisome goo.

Bethany's sweet voice falters in mid-note as a large quantity of vomit spews from her mouth.

The arrow sinks into the demon's back, and it falls to the tower's flagstones, liquifying into a noisome goo. The only sound left is the dry heaving of several of the party members.

Merle heads outside. The area surrounding the tower is cloaked in smoke; a large fire is alight on the top of the tower, burning merrily.The slave pens beckon ahead...

Merle spots a distant form running pell-mell for the area where Phaumee had indicated there was a gate. If it is the khaasta, it has several rounds head start and is moving fast. A small winged creature seems to be circling it

Merle is pretty sure she hit the fleeing khaasta, but the distant form doesn't stop running.

Isaac runs after Merle and Nari after tossing his rope to Phaumee.

"Phaumee, tie our prisoners' hands, please, while the rest of us recover. We'll be back when the spell caster is dealt with! Justin, can you keep an eye out up there?"

When he's outside, he'll look for any indication of an invisible foe (footprints, Predator-like cloaking aura).
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17

"That is a lot of,..." He shudders at the sight of Karrin heaving.

"Yeah, I'll just keep an eye out, up here." He says to Issac's back as the ranger runs out the door. The mage looks at Phaumee, and watches as he ties the hands of the prisoner. He nods.

"I'll just keep an eye out. Up here." He repeats when Phaumee looks up at him.

I may go back and check the other door on this level! ;)

Actually Merle, I made a mistake. The khaasta is farther away than the range of the acid arrow. Upon looking again at the range of the spell the khaatsa used to escape, it would be closer to 800+ feet away from you first spotting it. I will retcon and allow you to keep the spells you cast if you wish.

Issac and Nari run after Merle. Phaumee ties up the khaasta, searching the lizardman roughly and throwing a small group of trinkets in a pile.

Did you want to check the second floor door?

Nari tries to mentally measure the distance between herself and the portal.

How far away is it? Longest thing I have is medium range and I'm not sure we're that close.
