@Archibald - A little out of range for that acid dart, how about readying it for when the bear approaches.

Starke barrels forward toward the bear, as Diluvious and Slaine rush up as well. Slaine gets off a musket shot, hitting the bear in the side as it approaches. Archibald moves up and gets in position to use his powerful magic once the bear is in range. Sure enough it charges at Starke, and Archibald hits it with his acid attack just as it arrives. The bear tries to make a snack of Starke.

Bite v. Starke: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14

oh dear me! I must have missed something I... he suddenly notices the bear and stops dead in his tracks. reaching for his sword cane, Holmes braces himself for combat. Then abruptly he relaxes his grip on the pommel of the cane and leans against the wall next to himself. the current chance of winning is at least 9 out of 10, and any form of physical contribution from myself is excessive and unnecessary. Holmes moves his hand from his cane to his pocket watch and begins to minutely and mythodically clean the outside to a shine.

Silver Crusade

Maps and Handout

Lucky accesses the abilities of his fellow Pathfinders and those of the bear and decides shinning his watch is the right course of action.

Wu-Tang moves into attack position, as Diluvious takes aim and but his pistol misfires.

Misfires:

Misfires: If the natural result of your attack roll falls within a firearm's misfire value, that shot misses, even if you would have otherwise hit the target. When a firearm misfires, it gains the broken condition. While it has the broken condition, it suffers the normal disadvantages that broken weapons do, and its misfire value increases by 4 unless the wielder has gun training in the particular type of firearm. In that case, the misfire value increases by 2 instead of 4.

So misfire is 1 to 3 right now.

If an early firearm with the broken condition misfires again, it explodes. When a nonmagical firearm explodes, the weapon is destroyed.

Gunsmithing
You know the secrets of repairing and restoring firearms.

Benefit: If you have access to a gunsmith's kit, you can create and restore firearms, craft bullets, and mix black powder for all types of firearms. You do not need to make a Craft check to create firearms and ammunition or to restore firearms.

Restoring a Broken Firearm: Each day, with an hour's worth of work, you can use this feat to repair a single firearm with the broken condition. You can take time during a rest period to restore a broken firearm with this feat.

Special: If you are a gunslinger, this feat grants the following additional benefit. You can use this feat to repair and restore your initial, battered weapon. It costs 300 gp and 1 day of work to upgrade it to a masterwork firearm of its type.

Slaine takes aim and Blammo! Drops the bear. Saving Starke an uncomfortable hug.

Quick Clear:
For the non-gunslingers in the group, we can clear a broken gun pretty darn quick! Deed: Quick Clear (Ex): At 1st level, as a standard action, the gunslinger can remove the broken condition from a single firearm she is currently wielding, as long as that condition was gained by a firearm misfire. The gunslinger must have at least 1 grit point to perform this deed. Alternatively, if the gunslinger spends 1 grit point to perform this deed, she can perform quick clear as a move-equivalent action instead of a standard action. Source: UC

Slaine will keep an eye on the surrounding area, primarily the main doors to the house and the area where the bear came from. He casually reloads his gun, taking out the unused alchemical paper cartridge and loading with standard bullet and powder.

As Wu-Tang begins to organize the search and Diluvious begins assembling his tools for his gun repair. The bear you thought dead seems to let out a final gasp of air that startles everyone, you turn to look and suddenly see a ghostly figure rise from its form. The figure is a scowling Tian-Shu man wearing ceremonial armor and holding a longbladed sword. This spirit gestures with his sword at you all, as if waving you to leave, before dissipating.

I'm going to assume you give Diluvious time to fix his gun, it takes an hour, but there is no time limit here, so makes sense.

After making a through search of the outbuilding and finding it in decay and unoccupied, and waiting on the needed equipment repair you are now ready to decide if you will enter the estate after what you have seen.

With repairs made, you take Wu-Tangs advice and move into the eastern door. Most of the estate’s interior is simply a malodorous ruin bearing the hallmarks of having been a bear’s den for years. The rooms are scattered with shattered porcelain, ruined furniture, and torn remnants of banners and flags whose meanings have long since been consigned to history. You carefully search the east wing and find nothing of note. Reaching the main hall, a tattered rug adorns the floor of this short, forlorn hall. Pieces of a broken weapon rack lie on the floor in front of a statue of a stern Tian-Shu man wearing ceremonial armor and holding a long-bladed sword above his head. Doors lead out of this hall to courtyard to the north, and another leads to the west.

Sensing a trap or another spiritual possession, Slaine darts over to take a covering position opposite the statue. His eyes squint as he studies the armor for any signs that it is more than it seems.
