Pending approval of all parties present, I also will be...
present.
That in mind, Kartari, I was all set to go with a Seducer Witch of the Green Mother & then I saw this in Heroes of Golarion, the Player Companion that just came out.
The deep forests of Avistan, such as those found in Molthune and Nirmathas, are a haven for one of Golarion’s most fabled creatures: unicorns. Deeply empathetic and fiercely protective, unicorns on occasion form close bonds with humans, often young and noble-hearted women. When the two have a particularly strong bond, the unicorn’s magic can become a part of the bonded human, and sometimes is even passed on to her children. These children, blessed by their parent’s connection to that force of true good, grow up to become sorcerers of the unicorn bloodline.
Class Skill: Heal.
Bonus Spells: Cure light wounds (3rd), cure moderate wounds (5th), cure serious wounds (7th), restoration (9th), atonement (11th), heal (13th), greater restoration (15th), mass cure critical wounds (17th), mass heal (19th).
Bonus Feats: Alertness, Animal Affinity, Brew Potion, Fleet, Greater Fortitude, Improved Counterspell, Self-Sufficient, Skill Focus (Heal).
Bloodline Arcana: Every time you cast a spell, you can restore a number of hit points equal to double the level of the spell you cast to one target of your choice that you can see. A creature at its maximum hit points cannot be affected by this ability. Healing a dying creature with this ability does not automatically stabilize the creature unless its hit points are brought to 0 or above.
Bloodline Powers: Your connection to the unicorns’ blessing shapes you as you grow, empowering you with the forces of good and restoration.
Safekeeping (Su): At 1st level, you can touch a creature as a standard action, granting it a +2 insight bonus to AC for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier.
Pure of Mind (Su): At 3rd level, you gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against charm effects and a +4 bonus on saving throws against spells with the evil descriptor. At 9th level, your bonus on saving throws against charm effects increases to +4 and your bonus on saving throws against spells with the evil descriptor increases to +6.
Righteous Fury (Su): At 9th level, once per day you can create a spear of pure light and throw it at a creature within 60 feet as a standard action. This is a ranged touch attack that uses your Charisma modifier in place of your Dexterity modifier to determine the attack bonus. The spear deals 1d6 points of damage per sorcerer level and ignores all damage reduction and hardness. This damage increases to 1d8 points of damage per sorcerer level against an evil creature. At 13th level, you can use this ability twice per day. At 17th level, you can use this ability three times per day.
Friend to Nature (Su): At 15th level, creatures with the animal or magical beast type and a nonevil alignment instinctually trust you. Such creatures automatically have a starting attitude of indifferent or better toward you unless you or a creature allied with you has attacked or otherwise threatened violence against such a creature.
Blessing (Su): At 20th level, you gain immunity to poison, to charm effects, and to spells and weapons with the evil descriptor. You can also cast magic circle against evil at will with a caster level equal to your sorcerer level.
Should this meet with your approval, I will have character background & a completed character sheet by this weekend.

Approved, Brud, and welcome (back) to the game. :)
Wow. A sorcerer with cure spells. We could always use another healer, not to mention a powerful arcane caster.
Looks good so far. Except, I believe you should have 30 hp instead of 24? You take 4 hp per level as the average for a class with a d6, and not 3... always round those up instead of down... assuming that's what you did.
And, I'm also jealous of your Charisma score. :p This is one attractive party of characters.
I'm looking forward to the back story. Especially the part about how a male changeling came to exist... ;)
I'm planning to open recruitment in about a week, so this weekend would be great. Anytime you can wrap it up by then, that would be great.
GM Kartari
Say Zelda, were you keeping track of the party loot spreadsheet (in the campaign tab)? Or am I dreaming that you were?
I ask, because if you're not, and if noone else wants to volunteer... I'm honestly too damn lazy to bother tracking it myself, LOL. I am tracking your Harrow Points and, of course, your level-ups, so no worries there.
I started organizing the campaign tab a bit BTW, in preparation for good things to come. Archived a couple of things no longer needed...
GM Kartari
Ok thanks.
Sorry if I kinda put you on the spot, there. I honesty thought you did for some reason. I guess I failed my memory save.
If anyone else wants to take turns tracking loot, by all means help out. You could give Zelda a break sometimes. :)
And if altruism alone doesn't convince you to help her, just remember - the party rogue is tracking all your loot. Hmmm... ;)
GM Kartari
LOL.
So I think I'll need a couple more weeks before opening recruitment. Sorry about that. I'm still working a lot on that app, we're a bit behind our deadline now.
Let's say I open recruitment April 15th to play it safe. This will likely give me sufficient time to wrap up my preparations for this game as well.

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a nice spring... the perfect season to bring new life to our dusty old game. :)
I expect to be ready to open recruitment next Monday night, most likely. With Naught, Zelda, Brud, and Ali, I'll look for just one more recruit. Stay tuned.

Hey all. Sorry, I'll need another week for recruitment. I'm looking at a very busy work week, turns out.
Once we start I'll need less time, but I need more time and energy to start things off: creatively write up a wrap up for the roleplay, Q&A with recruitment, creatively write up an intro to the third chapter, collect fresh arterial blood from everyone to perform the dark ritual to our great lord and master Yog-Sothoth, etc..
We will definitely start soon! Hang in there.
GM Kartari
Haha, no worries. We do know your class going into recruitment, which is all I really need to better advise recruits what the party needs most. You can take a few more weeks as needed.
Thanks Zelda, I know you're not going anywhere. :)
GM Kartari
There's just too much going on still, sorry yet again. Eventually, we will begin!
GM Kartari
I hate to keep doing this, but I'll still need a bit more time. One big project is officially completed, at last. I have one other big project to wrap up, then I will have more free time to finally run this game. Soon!
Hope all are doing well.
GM Kartari
Yeah, I'm good, thanks. I just hit a very busy time with work. I do freelance computer repairs and also web development, so it's always up and down for me: at any given time, I'm either overworked or I'm worrying about money, LOL. I also just started up a new app development company with a partner, and we're working like mad to meet a major deadline. Once we do that, I'll finally be able to relax and start this game. :)

I hesitate to say this with absolute confidence, but... I do believe I may be able to finally start this game next week. We're wrapping up a major part of the project, with some last-minute debugging. Once that's complete, I should finally be able to open up recruitment.
:)

OK! So here's the plan for this week. One of these nights, I'll open recruitment up. I'll also try to complete a summary post that wraps-up the roleplay session.
Once recruitment is completed, we'll begin Chapter 3, at long last. Please try to make sure your character sheets are all done before then, if you haven't already.
This includes your stat blocks, as I do heavily rely on them as GM. Please refer to the requirements in the Campaign tab (see House Rules, HR-9). If you want an example, check out Ali's stat block. Thanks!

Here she is. :)
Zelda, I think it would be in everyone's best interest if you mention that you have the Trap Spotter ability in your stat block. I have to remember when to make secret rolls to your advantage with that ability. :)
Zel, Naught, and Brud, if you guys want to include your flat-footed CMD that would be great, just in case it comes into play (it's your regular CMD minus your Dex bonus).
GM Kartari
Recruitment is now open. :)
Since the game is about your enjoyment as much as my own, I'd like for everyone to be involved in choosing who should join. If we get multiple applicants, at least. What we'll do is give it a period of time, a week perhaps, and then you can privately tell me who you like and why, if you have a preference. Brevity is totally fine, I just would like even a sentence or a few on your preferences and why. I'll then post my decision based largely on your feedback. If you'd like to publicly discuss it here in the Discussion thread that's totally fine too. I know that could potentially get touchy, though, so feel free to private message me if you'd prefer.
GM Kartari
So what do you ladies and gentleman think of our first contestant? PM me if you prefer.
Zelda Lamplighter
|
Ineresting but then again we all seem to have interesting characters ok you guys have interesting characters. I just have a rogue :)
GM Kartari
I like her too. :)
I was originally thinking of giving it a week. However, I do believe I'd be very happy with her in our game.
Shall I cut recruitment short and make it official?
GM Kartari
Looks like I spoke too soon, LOL. Let's give the others a chance.
I'll give it until Saturday night. That gives us Sunday to review them. If you can each send me a PM with your pick by Sunday night, that'll be great.
GM Kartari
Hello everyone, and welcome, Hrothdane and Rikash.
For the next week, I'd like to see everyone wrap up any last-minute changes to their characters before we begin book 3. We'll begin book 3 on Monday, June 10, which is less than two weeks from today. In the meantime, I'll post a wrap up of our intermediary roleplaying session before then.
Brod's departure leaves the party without much in the way of arcane ability. I don't have the time at the moment to properly evaluate the ramifications of this, though offhand I believe we should be good for a while. It may help to prepare/know spells like detect magic or to have ranks in Spellcraft, but I believe Aliseya (at least) can passably do these. I am open to recruiting a sixth PC who is an arcane caster, if you all would prefer that?

Hey folks, I'm looking forward to braving the horrors of Ustalav together.

I'm inclined to think we could probably manage with some ranks in Use Magic Device and scrolls. I'm not sure if anyone has those at the moment. Christoph will have full ranks in spellcraft, so he can contribute there at least.
I am open to recruiting a sixth PC who is an arcane caster, if you all would prefer that?
I'm good with this if that's what we'd like to do.
Sookie Clayten
I'm good either way. I got through all of Mummy's Mask with no deaths with a 4 person party and the bard as the only arcane caster.
GM Kartari
Right, UMD is a good idea as well. Maybe I'll rework Aliseya's stats a bit, she could do okay at that.
Okay, so unless someone voices a strong urge, I'll leave it at the 5 of us.

Welcome! Im excited to get to play with both of you ^w^
Likewise. I've been reading the group's adventures. I just got past Naught's gardening trip and (unsuccessful) attempt to recover d'Shiny.
In other news, this is where I'm thinking of going with Christoph's crunch.

Starting on the 10th hmmm that means my vaction next week will not interfear with game play. How handy ;)
Sookie Clayten
I actually tried to avoid reading as much as possible of the earlier stuff in an effort to make it easier to come in fresh, then catch up once she's heard stuff in character.
I switched out Greater Mercy for Selective Channel, as I realized there are situations that she might need to channel instead of lay on hands, but I'm otherwise happy with her build. She can switch out her Mercies for fresh ones every day thanks to her Oath, so the ones she currently has are just some good general ones to go with, I thought. I was planning on just going with stuff to improve lay on hands for the rest of her feats, but I'm not opposed to grabbing Outflank at 9 if we have one or more people with it (I see Christoph has it), but I can't justify it in-character until she joins the party, as she's been traveling alone or with a caster.
GM Kartari
Sookie, that's cool. Selective Channel can definitely come in handy.
I was just looking over your stats. For the Deific Obedience feat, there's mention of boons you get based on your deity. I don't see a reference to these boons, and don't have a copy of the source book mentioned (Faiths of Golarion). Is there a link you can give me so I can review the boons? Otherwise, just let me know the boons Sookie would benefit from. Thanks.
