Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
The men with the spears, (there are half a dozen of them) don't seem to pay any attention to you. Possibly the intervening distance across the width of the 'firebreak' between the boarding house and the forest's edge is contributing to their not having paid much heed to Seebo's call thus far.

Spoiler:
unless i specify otherwise you can assume i use the glaive

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
After mulling over Nim's suggestion for a while, Bronx concurs, although he warns Nim to be ready to use the longsword if the gnome/mushroom thing comes back or any troublemaking fey show up.
Bronx spends some time searching around the fallen bear, going backwards and forwards very carefully, sweeping snow aside, and getting increasingly frustrated that he isn't finding anything.
Eventually a malicious snickering sound comes from apparently empty air a couple of dozen feet above the heads of Bronx and Nim.
"Can't find something?", whatever it is chortles in common. "I'll bet you we took it away last night."

Bronx:

Spoiler:
You suspect that this is another one of those tricksy fey that you're dealing with. This one sounds to you like it's currently in a really confident and boastful mood. Your previous experience of such creatures is that sometimes, when they're like this, if you can push the right buttons you can trick them into talking off about things which they really shouldn't sound off about, simply because they love to hear themselves talk about how clever that they are.

Pres Man: Hope that your trip went okay by the way. Thanks for mentioning that you wouldn't be posting for several days.

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

Davkul and GM Charles

Spoiler:

Seebo shrugs and follows Davkul to the stsbles. "I suppose you're right, but after last night, I can't help wondering what there looking for."

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
You collect Davkul's pony and then proceed through the snow-covered streets of Deadsnows looking for a building with an oak tree outside of it, such as the dwarf described to Davkul at breakfast in the boarding house. After a while you find the only likely candidate; a place on the east side of town, which is a long, high, building, running north-south, with high windows let into the roof facing eastwards. Sure enough in front of the southern porch is a sizeable oak tree. Whilst the main building looks to have been fashioned of a golden sandstone (where you can see it beneath the rampant ivy) and roofed with slates, a number of smaller whitewashed (mostly flat-roofed) appendages seem to have been added on at later dates; there are what look to be a couple of hitching rails for mounts, just off to the right of the southern porch.
The heavy-set wooden door into the building, visible at the back of the porch, is shut tight against the cold air of the winter day.
In the background, occasional shrieks of children playing in the snow-covered streets rise into the air.

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
"You gnome and half-pig ground crawlers aren't just dumb but practically blind as well.", it continues to sound off, since you haven't interrupted. "It takes a wild animal attack to mess up one of the few ground crawlers who has the sense to see which way the wind is blowing and work with us, and you still haven't spotted the couple of other agents we have down in that collection of hovels that pretends to be a town. One of them's been working away for months, collecting information, and laying the groundwork for the next phase of the plans of The Queen of Truth in this region."

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
Any preparations other than hitching Davkul's pony to a post, before you go into the shrine to try to find out about the dead halfling who was found yesterday?

M half orc Paladin 1

Spoiler:
nim not undertand!who is dis queen of truth what she want in der town

Charles

Spoiler:

Yes, I am ensuring that my holy symbol is tucked away securely and hidden. It may be highly detrimental to show where my spiritual loyalties lie.

Seebo and Charles

Spoiler:

Davkul nervously toys with a leather thong around his neck for a moment before steeling himself and going inside.

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
"You're even dumber than you look.", the voice snickers at Nim from somewhere up above. "Hmmm, what do you think that there is around here? Hovels, the wilderness, the mountains... ooooh... could there be something else? Something else of value? Some sort of moderately useful industry?"

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

Davkul and GM Charles

Spoiler:

After sliding off Davkuls' pony, Seebo adjusts his attire and accompanies Davkul into the shrine.

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Sorry for the delay, I got back and immediately fell ill.

"Industry! Ah! Fairies have no idea about industry. Go back and suck on a honey-suckle little bug. We don't have time for flea minded creatures.

Besides you are probably just a fungis wart off the arse of that creature that was just here! Ha, ha, ha!"

Bronx will put his hand on his light hammer and try to pin point the creature's location.

Listen check: 1d20+3=18 [20 if a Fey]

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
"Uhhh. You're not some ally Markov has just retained and sent up here to help move one of the caches?", whatever it is that happens to be flying up there suddenly sounds a lot less confident, and is apparently addressing its remarks at Bronx. "If so, why didn't you say so earlier, instead of letting your big dumb friend speak up? And where did the guardian we were growing go? Don't say it wandered off and fell into a hollybush? There's hardly likely to have been any cold-iron lying around up here for it to trip over."

Bronx:
Spoiler:
The invisible thing- you're pretty certain that it's a fey you're dealing with- sounds as if something you've said has caused it to think that you might be an ally. At present you think you have the 5ft cube which it's occupying pinpointed, 15ft up, just above where the slope of the ridge resumes its westward climb beyond the rock outcrops at the back of the shelf.
As to its hollybush comment, you've heard that some fey and fey-magic react badly with the mystical propertes of holly. (Given some druid spells require holly or holly-berries, I feel it reasonable to extend this a little to the whole bush having baleful properties vs. some fey and fey-related tricks.)

M half orc Paladin 1

bronx charles

Spoiler:
nim very strong nim can help to move things. where thing that fairy want moved, and perhaps fairy not be so rude in the future! or nim not carry anything!!

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
Leaving the pony outside, (Davkul leaving Nightsong out there as well to keep an eye on things) Seebo and Davkul push open the door and head into the shrine.
Inside, the building is a modest sized hall which is about thirty feet long, with oak rafters, and several arches leading off to various antechambers or other areas on either side. At the far end is a large horizontal block of stone, hovering about a foot above which is what appears to a be an enormous green oak leaf which seems to be glowing with a gentle yellow-green radiance.
For visitors to the shrine to sit upon there are a number of plain wooden benches, at this end of the hall. From markings on the wall and the terracotta tiled floor, there appear to have been many more fittings at one time in this place, but there are no signs of them now.
Illumination floods into the room through a series of windows let into the roof, most facing eastwards.
Kneeling before the stone at the far end of the hall is a human male in plain robes and a hood, with a simple girdle knotted around his waist.
Apparently hearing your entry, he rises to his feet and turns to face you. He has a sickle slung at his waist, dark eyes, and his black hair and beard are showing strands of grey in places. It is difficult to be certain how old he is, though he seems to be in the peak of health.
"Greetings, little folk.", he calls out to you. "I am Curunír, principle guardian of this shrine. What brings you here this morn?"

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

Davkul and GM Charles

Spoiler:

In a subdued but clear voice Seebo announces,
"Greetings Curunír, I am Seebo Murnig, we came to view the halfling body, if we may"
"We have some trepidation as to the identity, as we have a missing halfling associate"

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
"Yeah, we were sent here to get something, as for the little beasty, he stupidly tumbled off the edge. Tell us where the cache is, and then go down and try to find that moldy thing."

Bronx is not trying to actively lie, but he is probably being too vague so as to be deceptive. If the little critter wants to believe they are working together, all the better for Bronx and his allies.
Here is a bluff check, you can put whatever modifiers you wish on it (bonus for fey already added in).
1d20+2=20

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
“Hmmm.”, the human comes down the hall to peer at the two of you closely, allowing you to note the pattern of oak-leaves worked into the handle of the sickle at his side, and the unusual silver sheen to the blade. “Well you look relatively honest types, so I don’t see why not. Cleric of Garl, right?”, he addresses this last comment to Seebo. “If the two of you will just come with me...”

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Sense Motive check, circumstance penalty imposed. (1d20=15)
“I wish they’d warned me you might be showing up as well, instead of just saying ‘check every hour for troublemakers’.”, the invisible fey continues. “There must have been a band of half a dozen of them up here last night in the cloud and snow. They just evaded one of the full-grown Sacred Ones. Left behind some sort of nasty metal amulet lying in the snow. That had to be removed. Well most of the important stuff has been removed by now in case the plan does somehow miscarry- and the portable gate had to go, in case last night’s adventurers spotted it and recognised it for what it was- but I think there’s still a cache in amongst the roots of a fallen pine off to the left about a quarter of a mile north here, and it should have some items in which Markov might find handy. Well I can’t dawdle; I need to go and see where that crazy thing’s wandered off to. Still at the experimental stage, these fungus things, and maybe they need closer supervision whilst they’re growing.”
The voice goes quiet, although if you listen really hard, you might catch a faint mildly annoying tune being badly hummed, as something small passes overhead and then bears away east, scouting through the air amongst the trees.

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

GM Charles and Davkul

Spoiler:

"Yes I am one of Garl's many followers. After the altercation at the inn last night , we have lost contact with a halfling associate, but there is more too it that we are trying to figure out."
"We just wish to view the body to make sure it's not our missing associate'

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Bronx turns to Nim and puts a finger to lips indicating that Nim should stay quiet. Bronx then mounts up and motions Nim to come with him as he heads towards the stash that the fairy indicated. After a time Bronx will whisper to Nim, "Stupid fairy thought we were one of them, we need to find that stash quiet like before he realizes he's been tricked. You might want to keep that sword handy, I'll get out my hammer as well. Keep your eyes open for that stash of stuff he was talking about." Bronx will put away his bow and get out his light hammer.

M half orc Paladin 1

bronx and charles

Spoiler:
nim remains quiet and will follow bronx towards the direction of the cache. later on nim will ask bronx, why did bad fairy think we were one of der bad people?

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
You head north, along the shelf, looking out for signs of a fallen pine tree on your left as you go. The snow lying on the shelf continues to be relatively shallow, and you soon leave behind any traces of possible burrowing disturbances, the snow showing no signs that anyone has been this way since it fell. Occasional flakes continue to drift from the glowering skies overhead. The rock outcrops at the back of the shelf run on, practically unbroken.
Time approximately:10:43, 30th Nightal, 1383 DR
Bronx:
If you want to say anything further to Nim, you should be out of range of the fey by now, and you can’t hear anything else moving in the woods at present.

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Bronx tries to explain to Nim. "Well you see these fairy folk are pretty dumb and mean and spriteful ... I mean spiteful. When I challenged the little beasty he of course thought that was the right way to be talked to so he thought we were like him. Of course it might have helped that I have a some of the dark fey blood in me, as well. Anyway, whatever we find, I think we should grab quick and head back to the town and find the others."

M half orc Paladin 1

charles bronx

Spoiler:
ok bronx you der clever one let us find der stuff and go back to my bruder, him always getting into trouble

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Suddenly breaking the continuity of the rock outcrops of the back of the shelf on your left, there is a short but steep snow filled gully rising up through the back of the shelf to the slopes above. It looks too narrow to get Bronx’s pony up through, without a great deal of bother. There seems to be a gap in the semi-regularly rising ranks of pines up there- as if one of them might have gone down- but the height of the rock outcrops at the back of the shelf block any view from down on the shelf of what the situation on the higher slopes is at ground level.
Time: approximately 10:45, 30th Nightal, 1383 DR

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
“Mmm, well it is not a pleasant sight for the eyes.”, Curunír says as you both follow him down the hall and through one of the side arches on the left (west) side of the building. He stops at the head of a steep flight of stone stairs which descend into the depths of the ground, to retrieve an oil lamp from an alcove, which he proceeds to strike a light for with a flint and steel also from the alcove. “All sorts of rumours are currently flying around town about it, of course. A tradesman bringing a wagon of ale from Sundabar noticed the poor fellow, dead for several days by the state of the body and of the poor fellow’s pony. Someone had mutilated the face, ripping the tongue out, in what I can only take to be some sort of criminal underworld punishment- or perhaps an attempt to stop the corpse from speaking if certain magics were attempted to question it as to its identity, assailants, business in the area and so forth.” At this point, Curunír has the lamp lit and by its flickering light is descending the stairs, with you two following. “And besides signs that someone also seemed to have attempted some sort of ritual on the corpse of the deceased before it was found, there was also the way an item which arrived here with him vanished overnight; a plain lead scroll tube, sealed at both ends...”

M half orc Paladin 1

charles bronx

Spoiler:
nim will lookout for trouble if bronx will search for cache (nim has a really bad search skill)

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

GM Charles and Davkul

Spoiler:

"Curunír, what kind of ritual do you think was performed on this poor fellow?"
"A scroll case vanished overnight, you mean someone stole it?"
"What was in the case?"
Turning, Seebo asks, "Davkul you know Fenwick better than I do, is there any distinguishing features or marks that can help? Ones that would be overlooked if you didn't know about them?"

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Bronx will tie his pony up and climb to see if he can find the cache.
Search roll: 1d20+4=15

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Tying up his pony, and leaving Nim on guard, Bronx scrambles up the short gully, and almost at spies the stump of what must once have been a tall pine, whose fallen trunk (with yellowing needles on the branches) lies nearby partially buried beneath the snow. By the look of the blackening and splintering of the wood, Bronx reckons that the tree must have taken a direct hit from a lightening strike (whether natural or supernatural is impossible to say) a while back, the trunk snapping off to topple onto the slope to the west, and leaving the stump in the ground.
Brushing the snow away, Bronx scrabbles in the dirt and fallen needles around the roots, and presently uncovers the top of what seems to be the top of a plain wooden box or coffer. It seems likely that this may be the ‘cache’ that the invisible fey spoke of, unless there are many fallen pine trees in these parts with boxes hidden amongst their roots. The top measures about a foot in length along each side, and is devoid of any kind of carvings or decorations- it looks to be fashioned out of oak.
Nim, standing guard somewhere out of sight below, has no idea of Bronx’s progress.
Sorry for the delay in update. I had difficulty in getting onto the boards and signing in to post on Sunday, and once I did, I waited in the hope of getting a post from Longreach/Davkul.

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
"No marks or features that I could easily describe.", Davkul responds to Seebo's question. "I might know enough to identify for certain if it is he, if the damage is not too great."
Will post more within the next twenty-four hours whether or not Longreach is able to post within that time frame. I know that I have been experiencing difficulties reaching the Paizo site on some recent occasions. I think that the PostMonster has been carrying out servicing activities of some description.

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Bronx comes up with a wooden box, displaying it so Nim can see it. Bronx then quickly scrambles back to Nim and the pony. Where he will untie his mount and get on. "Let's get back to town fast."

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Bronx, with a little more excavation, extracts the apparent box (weight 8lbs with current contents) and scrambles back down the gully to rejoin Nim and his pony. The ‘box’ is about a foot and a half tall, besides the width and breadth of about a foot each way. There is no visible sign of a lid or lock, so it may be a puzzle-box (or chest, given its size) of some sort. The exterior is entirely composed of tightly fitting and smoothly finished pieces of oak, although rapping on the side indicates that there is a space of some sort inside. There is no sign of any carving or other decoration visible upon any part of the outside surface.
With the assistance of the rope which Nim is carrying, it may be possible to lash the box to Bronx’s pony or to Nim’s pack in some way, so that it does not have to be carried two-handed by someone on the way back to town. (The dimensions are somewhat problematic for simply cramming it into Nim’s pack without spending time repacking everything.)
Time: approximately 10:51, 30th Nightal, 1383 DR
If you could discuss/make clear which way you would like to try to return to town, whether by retracing your steps exactly, or by some other route? You travelled mostly west, and possibly a little way either north or south up the side of the ridge to get back to the place with the dead bear, and have travelled a quarter of a mile or so north of that point to reach your current location.

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
“My studies of the teachings of the Oak Father are inadequate for determining the exact nature of the ritual which had been attempted- besides which, the tradesman who found him did not like the look of the symbols which had been marked on part of the body, and took steps to erase much of them with liquor from his hip flask, or so I am given to understand. There was a peculiar lingering aura of necromantic magic about the body and possessions when it arrived here, which may have had something to do with slowing the decay process of a corpse, but could just as easily have been intended to achieve something else.”
Curunír ducks under the low arch at the bottom of the stars, into a modest sized subterranean vault, and you both follow him. There are several slabs laid out here, and shelves affixed to the walls laid out with oils and unguents. The flicker of the solitary oil lamp does little to pierce the gloom of the corners, and the shadows it casts are long. Your breath comes out in steaming bursts, in the cold air.
Laid out on one of the slabs is the body of a halfling man. Despite the ravages worked to the face, some efforts seem to have been made to restore dignity in death. He is arrayed in mud splattered traveller’s clothes, and a fur hat has been placed by his dark haired head. He looks to have been barely an adult.
I will supply a reaction for Davkul in 24 hours, if he continues to remain unable to post for any reason.

Davkul:

Spoiler:
It’s difficult to be absolutely certain, but this dead halfling does look like it could be Fenwick. This doesn’t seem to make sense to you at first, given that this body looks to you several days dead, whilst you saw him apparently alive and well- if somewhat worried- yesterday evening.

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

GM Charles and Davkul

Spoiler:

"Curunír, please show us to the poor soul and let us hope that it's not Fenwick. What kind of ritual do you think was performed on this poor fellow?"

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
If there is a more round about way to get back that won't take them too far out of their way, Bronx will probably be more interested in that. He doesn't wish to run into that fey again, at least not until he gets a chance to get this ill gotten look in some proper hands. If Nim has some rope, Bronx will be ok with lashing the box to the pony. He will even walk beside it, if he thinks that would be faster.

M half orc Paladin 1

charles bronx

Spoiler:
nim will simply pick it up and carry it over one shoulder or with two hands if he has to. he will follow bronxs dierctions on how to get back

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Interesting idea, Nim, but if you have the box in your hands, are you going to leave your glaive behind?
Bronx: Will heading straight down through the trees to the valley floor, and then making you way back north or south to town (if necessary) suit you as a planned course of travel? It is likely to keep you well clear of the site where you left the dead bear and last heard the invisible fey active.

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
Hmm. Still no sign of Longreach/Davkul, so I'll have to improvise his side of proceedings as best I can, and try to keep him out of trouble until he does show up.
"As I said, my studies of the teachings of the Oak Father- especially given the circumstances of my severely restricted opportunity to make observations of the primary ritual site or evidence of workings- leave me unable to make any kind of specific guess as to the nature of the ritual which was attempted.", Curunír sighs. "As to the deceased, you can see him lying there for yourselves.", he indicates the body on the slab. "There was a lead scroll tube of some sort, sealed at both ends, with him when he was brought in late yesterday afternoon- the tradesman and those who helped bring him here didn't like to interfere with it, in case it was anything magic, and given the lingering necromantic auras surrounding the body and every item with it at the time it was difficult to determine if there was anything in particular special about the scroll tube; I had intended to more thoroughly investigate it this morning, having prayed for appropriate guidance, but it unfortunately disappeared from this vault overnight. Excuse me sir. Are you alright?" This last remark is addressed to Davkul who has approached the body and has picked up the hat to inspect it, before putting it back down. Davkul has an expression of confusion and just a touch of desperation on his face.
"I don't understand.", Davkul says, shaking his head. "It can't be Fenwick. We saw him alive last night- or at least seemed to do so- and this poor fellow has been dead for several days. And yet there is a certain resemblance..."

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

GM Charles and Davkul

Spoiler:

"Davkul are you sure?"
"Curunír, my friend here met with a halfling at Mrs Preswick's last night, we assumed he was our associate."
"He disappeared in al the ruckus and turmoil of the fighting. We tracked him for some distance, but lost the trail."
"If Davkul here can be more certain, it opens up a whole new lot of questions and gives us no more answers."
"Curunír, may I trouble you for a personal assessment of someone here in town?"

M half orc Paladin 1

charles bronx

Spoiler:
i really dont see what the problem is? i (raven) can fairly easily carry a box that small weighing eight pounds on one shoulder and carry a glaive in the other hand or over my other shoulder so i would think that nim could do that easily. if you think that nim cant do this then he will simply tie it to the top of his backpack, if he cant do that then he will re pack his backpack! and put it in there

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Okay. Had another look at this, and taken into account that Nim is 6'10", so the one shoulder approach whilst keeping hold of the glaive like an oversized walking staff in the other hand would probably work. I had some soncerns about being able to manage (one handed) a polearm the length of a glaive, but Nim's height is very useful here.
If you come on any serious snowdrifts which need trampling through, Nim may need to put to box down (if that turns out to matter for any reason) but going downhill snowdrifts will probably be much less bother to force through anyway, owing to being able to bring weight to bear down on top of them.
Okay, Nim, I'm fine with that.
Awaiting route confirmation from Bronx.

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
"I just don't know.", Davkul says, looking at the face disfigured by bruises and pockmarks, then at the cap again and shaking his head. "But whomever or whatever is behind this must be identified and properly punished, if at all possible."
"You can ask me by all means, though I may not be personally acquainted with them if I do not regularly meet with them, or at least hear of them.", Curunír replies in answer to Seebo's question to him, his tone grave. "Whilst I do my best to ensure that the work of the Oak Father is carried out in this valley my myself and those who serve with me, many folk prefer to seek the divine guidance or protection of other faiths whose holy men or women occasionally visit town, and not all of those people carry out such deeds that I hear tell anything of note of them. Of whom did you wish to hear my thoughts?"

Davkul:

Spoiler:
As far as you can tell- given the disfigured face- this is Fenwick, or someone who even apparently dead is able to look like him. The fur cap also looks familiar- especially the slightly lopsided flaps to cover the ears, which you could have sworn you were looking at last night in the common room of the boarding house.

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Bronx is ok with however Nim wants to carry the box. Though if he intends to carry it with one hand, Bronx will suggest that Nim let him carry his glaive so that Nim can keep his sword out and ready in case they get jumped. Bronx will keep out his light hammer with his other hand (the one not carrying the glaive). If instead Nim wants to pack it away, Bronx will suggest they move away from the spot first and then repack his bag. Yeah, going down through the trees would probably be best. And then they can turn ...
Bronx pulls out an arrow and spins it in the air (1=North, 2=South).
1d2=2
... South and head back to town

Male Rock Gnome Cleric 1

GM Charles and Davkul

Spoiler:

Speaking very quietly to Davkul, "Isn't that the cap we found in the snow? The one that vanished and we thought Nim may have lost?"
Not really waiting for Davkul's reply Seebo turns to Curunír, his gaze searching the face of the cleric, "What do you know or think of Merruth Orcbane?"

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Seebo & Davkul:

Spoiler:
"Merruth Orcbane?", Curunír considers. "There is an officer in the Company of The Sable Bow of that name, in this town. A professional soldier of fortune, held to be good at following orders from the company's leader, and competent in their execution. I have heard that, off duty, he has something of a vice for dice games, but not to the point where it ever puts him in any kind of financial difficulties- he knows when to stop."

Mad Geologist 5/Dungeonmaster 4/Writer 1

Nim & Bronx:

Spoiler:
Whilst Nim can see Bronx has a great point about having a sword ready, Bronx is going to be up on the back of a pony which has four legs to help it stay upright when going down a slippery snow-covered slope; at least a glaive could be used (one handed) as a kind of oversized walking aid by Nim. In terms of game mechanics, if you do run into trouble, Nim could drop the glaive as a free action, draw the sword as part of a move action (as he has +1 BAB), and then attack as a standard action; he will probably only lose out on making an attack with the sword if you got a surprise round against something.

M half orc Paladin 1

charles bronx

Spoiler:
nim, says he is happy to carry the glaive because he is good at drawing a sword and can do so very quickly

Male (Rock) Gnome Ranger 1

Nim and Charles

Spoiler:
Bronx shrugs his shoulders when Nim says he wants to keep the glaive. "Sure, whatever you want big guy." Then Bronx motions for Nim to lead the way down the hill and towards the South. Letting the big fellow plow the road for his pony.
