Jubrayl strokes his greying beard. "So that's the goblin that's been running around with your little group? Well, I did say your companions were of no concern to me, so I'll let this slide. I can't guarantee his safety if we catch him snooping around here again however." Gathering their things, the priestess and the goblin leave the tavern by the way of the back door. As they are leaving, Cyprio continues eyeing Darst with great suspicion.

Do you have anything specific you'd like to do with Venmirl? Because, as I see it, all you guys are going to do is to say hi to each other. I feel bad for Venmirl but PbP are by nature slow. I also tried to get him to expand on his background but he didn't 'catch the hook' (no biggie).

Full withdrawal action. He will return to the Feedbag. If the sailor persists in following him, and there is no sign of either Naomi or Darst, he will return to the White Deer.

Venmirl tries to remember what his grandfather meant about the "yawning cave".
As a rite of passage into adulthood (and to prove their courage), the Shoantis usually go throught some kind of challenge at around 14-16 years old. Amongst the Skoan-Quah, the test consist in entering tight cave complex within the Mindspin Mountains (the so-called Yawning Cave) and exit after retrieving an animal skull (usually signifying the young brave’s future totem). The cave is filled with spirits, wards and fear magic, making the task difficult. Since Venmirl's domain is Earth, it's possible he managed to befriend/bind/whatever some kind of stone spirit in there.

As Naomi and Darst go up Salmon Street to head back to Hightown and the White Boar, they see Izbahn coming out running of one of the side alleyways. He seems a bit out of breath and there's a fresh cut on his chest. It doesn't look too deep. Izbahn quickly glance back toward the alley he just exited.
No more need for spoilers I think.
Izbahn Douvurk
Izbahn sighs in relief as he sees no one else behind him. Well, that could have ended very badly for me. Hope that guy decides not to hold any grudges against me. I hope Naomi doesn’t find out about…
His musing are cut short by the sight of both Naomi and Darst. Son of a.. He puts on a nonchalant expression, which is rather comical considering the blood trickling down his chest.
”So, Naomi, Darst, how did your evening go?” When Darst calls to him, he shrugs, "A couple of thugs decided it was a good idea to relieve me of my money pouch, but I was able to convince them otherwise."
Darst
"Of course not! They would know better than to mess with Izbahn if they were." She says with a smile that hides her glare. "Why are you two here so soon anyway? I said if I wasn't back in an hour, not ten minutes."
"We's just wondering if you talking to anybodies...in'resting."
Izbahn Douvurk
When Izbahn hears Naomi’s pointed question, which is accompanied by her glare, he inwardly winces. Ohh, boy. I am glad she doesn’t have a dagger in her hand now…
”Well, it’s like this Naomi. We just….well actually….I was just concerned about you, and I did not want to get into any…trouble. I guess I owe you an apology…you know…for not trusting you.”

"Actually..." Darst mutters, "...you don't."

Izbahn is silent for a moment, as he wrestles with the events earlier. It is after a few moments of silence, before he turns to Naomi, and takes her in his arms, hugging her tightly. "I just wanted you to know, I still love you, regardless of what your Family is."
I think we can advance a day here, Reptilian.
Reptilian GM
The adventurers encounter no more trouble as they head back to their room at the White Deer. They quickly fall asleep after an exhausting day.
Naomi is the only one with reserve points left and I'm assuming she uses them before she goes to sleep. As usual, everyone regains spells, x/day abilities, reserve points and 1 ability point damaged.
This is the stats I have now:
Darst hp 15/17 (no more damage to int or dex)
Izbahn hp 9/14
Naomi hp 16/16
Venmirl hp 9/21, dex 11/14
7th of Rova
Weather: Sunny morning but still a bit cool. It should heat up by midday.
The sky clear up during the night and the sun is shining in the east, casting long shadows early this morning. Most members of the group are still sore from yesteray's fight with the quasit and her minions but a good night of sleep helped to regain at least some vigor.

Same spells.
Naomi again sits by the window when praying for her spells, letting a cool breeze wash over. After Izbahn is is done preparing his spells though..
"Izbahn.. what you said yesterday. About my family I mean. They're good people. We care for each other like we're blood, and some of us actually are." She says quietly. "We're good people who don't like it when people who aren't family pry."
Izbahn Douvurk
Izbahn stretches his body out after memorizing his spells. Swap Mage Hand for Detect Poison. All others are the same.
When he hears Naomi’s reply, he smiles reassuringly at her, ” I know your Family are good people, Naomi. I am not asking you to forsake them for my sake. Heck I am no angel when it comes to families…” He stops short, embarrassed by something. ”At least your family doesn’t throw you away like a piece of junk…”
He takes her in his arms, and kisses her tenderly. ”I will do better, I promise you.” Once he has released her, he asks, ”Will you still scribe those healing scrolls today?”

"Izbahn.. you could never be junk. Look at you! A hero of Sandpoint, an up-an-coming mage.. and my love."
He takes her in his arms, and kisses her tenderly. ”I will do better, I promise you.” Once he has released her, he asks, ”Will you still scribe those healing scrolls today?”
"I'm not asking you to do better, because I don't think you could possibly do any better." She says with a weary smile. "Scribing the scrolls won't take long, as long as I'm not interrupted." Naomi thinks of something and frowns, going to her pack and searching through it.
"One's going to have to be enough today."

"Thank you, my love... of course being a hero is not all its cracked up to be. It attracts too much unwanted female attention."

"That will be fine by me. I can get something for us to eat, and then we can check the tunnels again. Perhaps I should check with the Mayor though before doing that."
Venmirl of Skoan-Quah
Feeling much better but still a little stiff, Venmirl goes to the hall of the White Deer and orders another hearty breakfast. He eats his meal in peace while he waits for his friends to come down.
After selling the items for:
masterwork flute=45gp
pair silver earrings=15gp
6 pouches of gold dust and 8 pouches of silver dust=306gp
a masterwork handaxe=154gp
we have a total of 520 gp
Izbahn Douvurk
Izbahn takes advantage of darst's absense to share a tender moment with Naomi, before he finishes dressing and then heads down to breakfast with Venmirl and Darst.
"Good morning, Venmirl. I hope you had a restful night."
I wanted to see about finishing the exploration of the tunnels, but I will wait for the party to agree with this first. Also, I wanted to see if there was any sign of Shalelu, since she would know if the goblins are on the move.
Reptilian GM
Reptilian, do we get our level back in hit points for sleeping overnight?
That's usually how it goes but not with this game. You only regain that if you get treated with the heal skill's 'long term care'. I figured the reserve points are enough otherwise.
So, what's first up today?

OK, just checking. I like the reserve point system so that seems like a good trade to me!
"Hey, Plainman! What's happening?"
Venmirl looks over at the little creature with a puzzled look, then looks around the room. "Well, I am finishing breakfast as are most other people here." then he mutters something to himself "Strange creatures, these goblins...". After a brief moment he realizes that Darst may be hungry, and orders something (quite inexpensive and plain) for him to eat, then smiles at Darst.
When Izbahn greets him, he is glad not to be alone with the goblin any longer. "I had an excellent night, thank you. Still a little stiff from yesterday's encounter. Something that thing did to me has left me not as agile as before. And you?"

Izbahn smiles, although there is a troubled look in his eyes, "It was...interesting, I would say. As for fighting that creature, I am glad we don't need to face it again. How do you feel about returning to those tunnels, Venmirl? Darst? Or should we look at taking care of these goblins at the source?"

Darst grins and digs into the food. His eyes widen, however, when Izbahn speaks. "At source? Lamashtu is--oh. Oh, I see. Yes, maybe. Dunno."
Venmirl of Skoan-Quah
"I would like to see what else is under the city in those tunnels. Even though I'm not completely agile as before I think sooner would be better than later."
He reaches into his bag and pulls out two small bags that clang of coins as he sets them down on the table. "I sold a few of the items we found. Here is yours share and Naomi's share. I have another for Algar but I can't seem to find him anywhere. Do you have any idea where he has gone?"
Izbahn Douvurk
"I don't know, Venmirl. He seems to have disappeared, and without his share of the loot as well. Perhaps we can recruit some muscle before we go after the goblins at Thistletop, although we should not need any help clearing out those tunnels. Once Naomi has finished scribing her scrolls, then we can get started."
Since Algar's player has not posted here in over a month, do you think we should try recruiting a replacement player? Maybe we could find an NPC to assist us instead. Thoughts?
PS, we should hold Algar's share of the loot for him, in case he does show up.

I have an NPC in mind that might join you at some point, just not right away.

Naomi spends her day's first couple of hours scribing her healing scroll.
Assuming you make it CL 1st, subtract 12 gp and 5 sp from your money (double that for a CL 2nd scroll). Naomi must also succeed a DC 6 (or DC 7 for CL 2nd) spellcraft check or fail her crafting. That shouldn't be too hard (i.e. just don't roll a 1). You could also use Craft (calligraphy) or Profession (scribe) for this roll.
Once this is done and all the adventurers have eaten a nourishing breakfast, they head back to the tunnels under the town.
See this map for reference and to tell me where you want to go first.

I say we should start in the chamber in the NE part of the map, the 30’ circular chamber with the door in the east wall. That is where we fought the vargouille, correct?
Izbahn retraces the party’s steps to the chamber with the small pool, where they had fought the vargouille earlier. Holding aloft his club, which has a light spell enchanted on it, he motions to the door in the east wall, ”Well, that is our next destination, Darst, could you check it out, please?”

That is indeed correct.
Darst doesn't hear or find anything and so the door is opened. It leads into a 15 foot-long corridor. Just like there were in the other corridor that lead to the current room, there's a short flight of stairs going up in the middle of it. With the light provided by Izbahn's club, you can see another door up the stairs, at the end of the corridor. The air here smells a bit foul and seems more damp.
