Burning Plague (for Beginners) (Inactive)

Game Master SinBlade06

An evil has taken of the small village of Duvik's Pass. The Burning Plague is a disease of unnatural power and lethality. Something must be done...

This is the Discussion Thread. If you wanna comment on the action, ask a question out of character, or start a conversation that may last the whole game, this is where you do it!

By the way, I'll be asking questions on occasion just to keep you guys on your toes, so keep an eye out!

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

It has begun. Mortal Kombat!

Probably not.

Just a notice for everyone, this is how you format your posts to look a little better. To end a format, just put [/] with the letter after the /.

Bold: [b] Mostly used for speech. "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Italics: [i] Mostly used for thought. Who the heck is this idiot?

Out of Character: [ooc] Used for questions, comments, or general use that doesn't pertain to the story. Gamemaster, have I seen this guy before?

Allow me to put it all together for you and show you what it looks like:

As the tall Spaniard approaches the 6-fingered man, the draws his blade. (Free action, no Attack of Opportunity.) "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

The 6-fingered man is a little intimidated. Who is this guy? I haven't seen him before in my life. He draws his own blade, ready to fight. Time to roll for initiative.

It helps the posts look prettier.

Male Human

Totally just watched this movie.

Hey Melchior, look at my last post. You're talking to someone, so use Bold not Italics. It confuses the other players and me, so watch your posts, ok?

Truaks, sorry, I was just kinda pushing things forward. I didn't mean to assume and put words into your mouth. I'll keep things going, but I won't be forcing you to do something. Sorry.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Doesn't bother me so no worries, I've just gamed with some people who do the whole, "how can you go outside if you never said you opened the door?" So I didn't want to assume anytging on Tamir's part.

Hey Melchior, since you're asking, I don't mind the way your character talks with the italics. I'd prefer the bold, but you can play how you want to.

Ow, i will use bold then. I ment the fact that when he talks outside of combat he uses wierd (and sometimes wrong) formed sentences.

Male Human, Qadiran Rogue 1

Well, your character is not the only one :) I hope it would be at least fitting for a foreign man.

Time for one of my character comments that I'd like you guys to actually think about:

If you gave your character a voice actor, who would it be?

This can be absolutely anyone from any time as long as you have a reference. Youtube and IMDB.com work great.

I'll give you an example:

The narrator of the story would sound like Tony Jay, famous for the voice of Judge Frollo from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, the narrator from Treasure Planet, and Monsieur D'Arque from Beauty and the Beast (the guy from the asylum).

You don't have to answer my post, but you can if you'd like.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Sorry I've been MIA the past few days guys. In the middle of a move. I should be back to posting Wednesday.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

It's been a slow start, everyone trying to make the time and craft the PC's and actions.

It's cool guys. Go through your thing.

Also, since the Dwarven fighter hasn't posted yet or replied to my pm, would you guys be interested in taking on another player?

death borehd would like to join, and we could use another player since our fighter is pretty much gone.

Let me know what you guys think. I'll pass it on.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Bring on the players. I'm square. We don't have a glut of players thus far, a nice balance.

Markus Dawntracker, if you're reading this, you need to post more. Everyone else is prepared to meet each other and start the actual adventure. All you've done is say you're there.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

I hope everyones 4th was good. I'm ready to go into a deep dark hole with impending death, fun is to begin.

Male Human, Qadiran Rogue 1

I`m OK with another player. Currently I`m away from my main PC, but I think the voice actor, who sings "Arabian Nights" would fit.

So it seems like both the fighter and the ranger have left us. And it also seems the new player that posted in the recruitment has left us as well.

This mission is intended for a larger group, so I'll be helping you guys out.

I'm gonna have a character pop in and help you out so you don't have to worry about getting wiped out. I'm not gonna steal all the glory, since you guys are the ones that volunteered in the first place.

You'll meet your new teammate just before you enter the mine.

Grun, I'm glad you said something about critical success.

In Pathfinder, there's no such thing as a critical success or a fumble when it comes to skill checks.

Reason being is that at higher levels when you have enough modifiers and bonuses that if you roll a natural 1 (Nat 1) you'd still learn up to the DC 10 information.

This also applies on Saves as well. There are a number of ways a character can become immune to a few different poisons or mugs of ale that they don't need to roll a save since a Nat 1 would still give them a high enough bonus.

At the same time, a Nat 20 may not always automatically succeed. When you look at your saves and you add 20 to them, that's the maximum DC for a save you can make. If the DC is any higher, you automatically fail.

Tamir, your perception score is correct. You have the following bonuses: +1 from your rank, +1 from your stat (Wis), +3 because it is a class skill.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Anyone else having issues submitting posts on the gameplay forum?

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Nvm seems to be working now.

I guess it is not possible to submit post with only "[dice] bla bla /dice]", need to add some regulard words too. Or at least it was my problem.

You can type in this (dice=Whatever you're rolling) and it'll appear for you, if that's what you mean.

Whatever you're rolling: 1d20 + 4d3 - 6 + 1d7 ⇒ (2) + (2, 2, 1, 2) - 6 + (5) = 8

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Sooo... what's up?

Sorry guys!

My schedule has been kind of tight, and I've been meaning to get back in as soon as I can. Fortunately I had the opportunity to, and I'll be getting back into this as soon as we can.

Thanks for your patience, really.

Female Gnome Druid/2

Come on guys! There's a whole mine to explore!!

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

I'm still here as well. Major life events, but I can still post.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I am curious, not for this game, but another one I'm in, what are the guidelines of non lethal atracks on a party member. My character is feeling like another character is treating him like hes dumb. He is, but is also a valuable member to the party. He is chaotic evil, and a goblin, but I'm not sure how that would normally play out. Besides i feel like it might get the game moving along. Thoughts?

The only attack that deals non-lethal damage is an unarmed strike without improved unarmed attack. Unless he plans on throwing a tantrum, I'd be careful.

You can choose to make certain attacks deal non-lethal damage, but you take a -4 to hit.

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

Good to know. After thinking about it I ended up just using an intimidate check to make him piss himself.

And now we're back into it! Again, sorry for taking so long.

Truaks, I forgot to ask, do you have a torch or a light source?

Male Human lvl 1 Paladin

I do have a torch, but my great axe is a two handed weapon.

This game has died. I'm putting it in the inactive stat.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer 1(hp 7, init 2, perc 0, darkvision 90, ac 12(16)),(fort2/ref3/will3)/0-Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mending, Resistance, Mage Armor, Color Spray

Lame. Perhaps it will restart. One can hope.
