So, greetings my fresh meat new players! Indeed, you start in the 'hoosegow, joint, stoney lonesome, con college, glasshouse, bucket, club fed, greybar hotel, big house, slammer, calaboose, castle, cooler, country club, crowbar hotel, digger, farm, guardhouse, hole, joint, jug, juvie, pen, pokey, rock, sneezer, stockade, the clink.'
Anyway, for full disclosure to Razwin I do know the player playing Nyx (although I didn't know that until she was selected!). She was a player in a long solo game (murder mystery).
So, with that out of the way, any changes or small things you want to discuss?
Also, any requests for events, themes, challenges and such you wish to see?
One thing I did want to discuss was how do you want me to handle my extracts. I'm locked up, probably don't have access to a lab or something to regain them each day, so do I have any extracts to use or are they timed out?
Regarding any requests, I don't have much. Nyx's is a planner so some missions where we have 'prep' time might be useful, but sometimes shaking things up is cool. It would be cool for Nyx's and Razwin to have a go at some of their greatest heist aspirations (for instance, Nyx planned to rob the Temole to draw the Wasp Queens out) but that's more of a side quest. Nyx is also keen to help Razwin with any personal goals/ missions. She got captured looking for a partner, an equal, so she's willing to go to great lengths to keep that partnership ongoing.

Nyx and Razwin actually have two similar threads of interest in their NPC/contact section: they both have a person or group that they are "hunting" and both have a person that is, in turn, "hunting" them. It might be interesting to combine those themes and have Jarrett Stone be a contact of the Wasp Queens, and to have the two investigators/detectives (Tyler Rex and Esmund Nightshade) work together, be rivals, or otherwise have a common thread.
As for a general sort of event or theme, I have an admitted love for being forced to make choices where both results could be equally good or bad; if you've played one of the various Telltale games, you probably know what I'm talking about: The smarmy lord tells you he will release your brother from prison. All you need do is kneel and kiss his ring in front of your wife-to-be. Do you swallow your pride and place family first? Or do you reject the proposal, knowing that allowing yourself to be cowed and seem weak will have a devastating effect on your followers? Throw in one or two of these and I am well hooked.
Actually, speaking of Ocean's Eleven (or referencing it, at least), might be fun to need to recruit a few specialized NPCs for a few jobs. Maybe nothing too intensive - don't want to force our GM to play a full party of PC-level NPCs - but if there are obstacles that we know about during the planning phase, it could certainly be an option. Needing a counter-summoner to bypass a powerful guard outsider, for example.
That said, I'm just spitballing here. As long as you as the GM are invested and having fun, I'm sure I will be as well.

I don't mind recruiting a few specialized NPCs if we need to. Just remember though that Nyx is a little paranoid, you see, she built her old network off connections forged by her time in the Wasp Queens - which was precisely why she knew it would eventually crumble. She's here now to start from scratch with an "untainted" network. Therefore she's going to be a little skeptical about trusting new NPC's at least until she's sure there is no connection with the Wasp Queens.
So, we could absolutely look at that option if the GM is on board, but it probably has to be done carefully, (from Nyx's POV)
Extracts- I'd say right now you have none but the Black Whale is a big prison and things get smuggled in and there may be room for secret stills. If you work at it, no saying you can't get some simple reagents and materials (might be a higher craft check).
On everything else, I will do my best to reflect your wishes.

Just as a heads up, reshuffled my skill points around since I realized that as an oversight I didn't take Craft Alchemy T_T.
Is it fair to assume that those locked up at the Black Whale are typically serving life sentences, or are there a mix of shorter sentences as well?

Most inmates are given long sentences but those with connections in the city frequently get those lifted. Absalom justice is a bit corrupt.

Super tired right now (2AM) but have been super busy and thinking up a bare bones plan
Right now, I was imaging that Nyx starts a fight or something, gets sent to Infirmary, gets access to the alchemy items then and there, and then either hides them in her cell (if its an option) to work on stage 2 of the plan for a separate day, or if they are easily detected by the guards, then she immediately synchronizes the rest of the plan and sabotages something to draw in our boat ride and escape.
Just a rough idea though.
I really, really hate to do this so early, but perhaps it's best that it happened now rather than down the road. Due to some last-minute change-ups I'm going to be outside of the United States with limited internet access. It's probably best to find a replacement for me, as my posting would be sporadic at best. There were a lot of great applicants, and hopefully one can step in as an alternate with as little disruption as possible.
Thanks for the opportunity, and I do hope to read this continuing adventure from the other (non-player) side, but this is a case of some major bad timing for me.

I think, with how Nyx's backstory works, in character it makes better sense to pair her with someone (assuming its not too much to ask, ooc I don't mind either way) since she allowed herself to be captured to find someone to work with. Besides, this was designed as a duo game, we should stick with that if possible I think :)

Site went down for a few minutes right as I was going to hit post. Ugh.
Oops just give me a moment. My roomates broke up, so both are leaving the flat, and the owner might be selling. If its selling, I'll be frantically finding to find a place (which might affect my activity in the next 2~ weeks), if he changes his mind and keeps it open for rent (heres hoping!) then I'll get first priority and probably no change at my end.
So activity might be limited, but probably only for the next two weeks while I sort everything out, just a little stressful atm.
If that's an issue for you GM then that's totally fine, completely understand. This has just kind of come out of left field and its just thrown my usual schedule out the window. Fairly confident though that things will get a little clearer over the next week or so.
No big deal. As you may have noted my own posting has been slow of late (although I hope to have that solved). I think we will be fine!

Sorry for the delay lately guys, work has been killer. Should be back to normal. Ask Nyx, usually I'm very good at posting.
Found a flat. Activity should pick up, but right now I'm just so tired and relieved. Just gotta move in but should be back to full activity in probably 4-5 days.
Confirming GM is very good at posting, but I haven't really noticed the delay with all the flat stressing iv been doing. Its been fine GM!

Yes he is, with a few nasty bruises and blows. He isn't looking for vengeance though, more nursing his wounds.
More snitching is the plan, tell these guys that he tried to kill them and that I stopped him. Get the big guys liking me, cause I bet one of them is worth 5-6 of these other shmucks.
Just as planned, made an enemy out of nearly everyone else but it was worth it. These guys'll probably be useful when it comes time to bust out, or even just as backup if someone tries to shank us before then.
I hope Marina is ok. GM, if Nyx is looking for someone to talk with, does she spot a guard that was handling the bound prisoner and has since returned?

I have some bad news (every player already knows what this means).
As you may have noticed my posting has been slow and infrequent. Life and energy is just not with me these days and I have been forced to cut back on some games. I usually do this by seniority, and this game is one of the ones I think I'm going to have to put on hold.
I aplgoize but without good GM energy, it'll be a drag for all of us. I might come back to it in a few months, I might not.
Hopefully no hard feelings, guys. All my fault, nothing to do with you fine folks.
