Maybe it was the group that walked by the alley? Who knows.

Embrianna |

Bri is just keeping an eye out for any who mean her group harm, she pays no mind to the groups taunting each other.
I hope nothing occurs on our way to the inn. I really don't feel like indulging in a fight tonight.

Impossible! That alley is miles away from my companions ;)
Also, how far off the ground is that wagon on square F:8/9? I may have a plan...

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

The wagon is 2 1/2 to 3 ft off the ground. It's small pushcart type of wagon that can pushed by a person or attached to a single animal. It is open in the back.
The irony here is; I don't really want to kill innocent people, or the doggies; but I don't like seeing the guy getting beat up and I figure if that guy getting beat up was really guilty he’d be turned into the law that just walked by (I hope).
Seeing the riding dog closest to him as they attack the beaten man, David shakes his head, disgusted at what he sees...
He takes his daggers and uses them with a full attack at the riding dog at E:9.
Attack 1 with Archaeologist’s Luck via a Swift Action and Deadly Aim and Point Blank Shot
1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 13
If it hits –
1d4 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 8
Attack 2 with Archaeologist’s Luck via a Swift Action and Deadly Aim and Point Blank Shot
1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 2 = 24
If it hits –
1d4 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 10

Astrianna Sparacello |

When Astrianna walks out of the Broken Skull with Adriel, she quickly checks all of her belongings. Satisfied, the bard waggles her fingers, and one arcane incantation later she is invisible.
The half-elf puts a hand on Adriel's back, and once he is also invisible she hops up and wraps her legs around his midsection, legs pushing into the curve of his hips for support. "Let's go! This is so exciting I've never flown before!"

Adriel Mistleaf |

Adriel escorts the bard outside with the others and swoops her up it his arms when they clear the door.
We'll see you three back in.....hmmm, I wonder how long my flight lasts..
Then he charges straight up (80ft per round)
Don't worry about the invisibly, Songbird. None will see us in the darkness at this height and I would be so saddend if I could not see the pleasures on that beautiful face.
The wind was blowing past as he magically sped upward and he held her extremely tight both to secure her lithe form and simply as an excuse to touch her.
When they achieved 200feet, he took a wide arc over the city, the lights were breathtaking.
Honestly, when I found I could do this, I had found a joy that was mine. Something OUR people had been the first to achieve. Magic is our birthright, Astrianna. I have found no greater beauty besides been coupled with one who can actually fathom what it means to have this gift.
Then he heads over the ocean a quick circuit over the bay and back towards the in they were staying at. He cancelled his flight at 200 feet and used his LEVITATION spell like ability to slowly lower them to the roof.
You are everything I love about this life, Songbird. Free, inquisitive and dangerous.
He attempts to touch down and pulls her into a strong kiss. If she lets him he lets his hands wander and embrace her.
I meant what I said. Call me lover or palything. It is up to you, regardless I am your friend to do with as you wish.

baldwin the merciful |

He takes his daggers and uses them with a full attack at the riding dog at E:9.
Surprise attacks are either move or standard action.
If some but not all of the combatants are aware of their opponents, a surprise round happens before regular rounds begin. In initiative order (highest to lowest), combatants who started the battle aware of their opponents each take a standard or move action during the surprise round. You can also take free actions during the surprise round. If no one or everyone is surprised, no surprise round occurs.
Did you already take the -4 range increment off?

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna raises an invisible eyebrow at the elf. "I'd prefer if we were invisible. We have no idea what kind of creatures call the night sky of the Razor home. Also I hope you know how long your flight lasts."
The bard cheers and laughs as they sail through the air- she wouldn't be surprised if the people below thought there was a mad demon soaring about the sky having, quite a lot of fun. "I love magic and the freedom it allows! This is phenomenal! Bladedancer- I'm not an elf, I'm never going to be one, I wasn't raised by elves, and frankly I don't care. I'm my own person. Just keep flying! Can we do a loop?"
When they land she seems quite disappointed the ride is over, sliding off of his back. She is surprised by Adriel suddnely grabbing her into a kiss which she returns with a laugh. "Yeah yeah I'm sure you say that to every woman. Come on."
Astrianna gives him a grin and grabs his hand, pulling him towards the way down. With her free hand she summons dancing lights to navigate with. "Now quit gushing and let's get down from here, did we have to land on the roof? By the way you're sharing mine and Embrianna's room with me tonight... She's staying in Darius's room."

Darius Rotarion |

And if we happen to get attacked on the way home, assuming that Embrianna was still game, he'd just want to make sure they were healed up before starting. :-P

Adriel Mistleaf |

The elf does not press the point about her elven heritage, that was a subject for another time. He chuckles and pulls her to the edge when she remarks about landing on the roof.
Activates FEATHER FALL Never mind the roof, Astri. Just jump.
He holds her hands on the way down as they land safely.
At the mention of staying in her room,
My dear, I have been wanting to resume that sparring session since I first smacked you on the a$$
Fade to black for a night of sweaty rasslin

Astrianna Sparacello |

The bard takes his hands and jumps from the roof into the courtyard, landing safely. She glances around, hoping no one minded.
I'm sure the others will make it back fine, they can handle themselves. Hawkins is probably already asleep, he needs it anyway.
She grins at him, stretching her shoulders. "I bet you have. Don't smack so damn hard this time. And just remember when I get on top I'm staying there."
Fade to blaaaack. Just a note, Astri will make Adriel sleep in the other bed, she wants one to herself. :p

If Dirk included the range increment penalty for his dagger attack then he hit the dog in the surprise round. If he did not include the penalty, then the attack missed.
Dirk's Alley Brawl:
Dirk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Salty Dogs Thugs: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Dogs: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Initiative Order:
Dogs
Dirk
Salty Dogs Thugs

Darius Rotarion |

Baldwin: there aren't any pesky assassination attempts through the night to interrupt the entertainment taking place in the suite is there? I would hope not, that'd be very rude of the assassins.

baldwin the merciful |

RD 1: Dogs
The dog that dirk threw his dagger at (who may be injured) charge towards the knife thrower.
att, bite, charge: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 2 = 23;damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
trip CMB: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
He has -2 AC
The second dog double moves and tries to get behind Dirk using acro.
through enemy square: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna isn't the spooning type when it comes to flings. She gets her rocks off and then goes back to business. In this case business is sleeping.
I really think that an assassin busting into the room would kill the mood.
...I'll see myself out.
Seriously though there would be blood everywhere gross

If I could only use one weapon, that means that I probably would have done something else. Via your description, I didn't understand that this was a formal "Surprise Round". I assumed I could do whatever I wanted as I had rolled Stealth and assumed I succeeded.
If you're ruling that it was a formal initiative "Surprise Round" and that I couldn't have used both Weapons Via a Full Attack, then I would have done something else entirely.
If you're not going to allow the ret-con, then David would/could have only used one dagger and that should mean that part of his penalty would be negated and he should have hit.

It was a pretty clear description, I even stated that you have the surprise. Link But ok go ahead and recon your action.

Sorry - when you said "Surprise" I thought you meant it like I surprised them because they didn't know I was there via my Stealth Roll, not a formal "Surprise Round". It's my fault, but in any case, with only a Standard Action David would have cast "Grease" on E:7.

Darius Rotarion |

As the trio return to the inn, Darius bids Sath a good night, then hands the key to Embrianna and says, "Give me a moment, I'll be right there."
He then makes his way over to the bar and says, "A bottle of your absolute finest wine, and two glasses, please."
Once he has the bottle and glasses, he makes his way into his suite. "Now that we haven't got to worry about anyone poisoning our drinks, I thought we could enjoy a nice glass or two by the fire."
He pours them each a glass and makes his way over to join the beautiful woman.
Aaaaaaaaaaand cue the censors.

baldwin the merciful |

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

The first dog would have run and jumped over the grease, not charged and it's AC is now normal. It would have still bit
[dice=jump]1d20+14The second dog would have jumped over the grease,
[dice=jump]1d20+14
Wouldn't Dog 1 be at a penalty without a 10 foot running start? And wouldn't they need an Acrobatics Check to get past me to avoid an AoO?

Embrianna |

Bri is perfectly willing to spoon, she is a bit emotionally starved.
If Bri gets at least 2 hours of sleep, I'd like to go ahead and write down her new spells for the day. She was totally serious about taking Detect Poison as soon as she can.

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

The second dog did do an acro in the earlier post 26 moving through an enemy square.
Sorry for the delay -
So the dogs are currently flanking me and it's my Attack?
In which case, David will then draw his Magical Rapier and MW Shortsword; but as he only can do one Combat Action he'll take a stab at the dog at E:2 with it -
Attack 1 with Magical Rapier and Arch. Luck -
1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 10 + 1 = 29
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 6
EDIT: Confirm Rapier -
1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 1 = 28
If it confirms -
1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 6

Sath Saltblood |

Watching Darius and Bri go off to his suite together, Sath makes her way to her room, washes, dresses for bed, and goes to sleep.

baldwin the merciful |

The dog in E:2 takes 12 point points in damage.
The two salty dogs thugs turn and smile, "got one now boss"
The thug the farthest way moves and jumps over the grease and stays in E:6.
jump: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
He has two short swords in his hands. That is all he is doing. You can make a perception check.
One man moves up 5 feet and throws a dart (he is now 30 feet away)
att, flanking, human fav. enemy, increment pen, melee pen: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 + 2 - 2 - 4 = 18;damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
sneak: 1d6 ⇒ 6
the dart is d4 +1, I forgot the +1
The "commoner" getting beat turns and says, "Hurt 'em guud, take his stuff, kill 'em if he resists." The he whistles. He casts a spell, and the weeds grow in the street and into the alley way blocking the retreat.

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

RD 2
Well, David is immune to Flanking, luckily - and the enemy shot missed. So the dogs went, I attacked the dogs; the humans went - isn't it the dogs turn?
Perception Check to see how the guy on the ground is doing (among other things?)
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

baldwin the merciful |

RD 2: Dogs
The two dogs yap and bite while trying to trip the prey.
E2, flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18;damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
the second dog tries want more blood,
E4, flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9;1d1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

Dun dun duuuun! Get out of there Hawkins! Also, I want some magic ammunition...
I'm waiting to see what happens; but I won't forget my friends via whatever Magical Ammunition I may be able to find...

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

RD 2: Dogs
David does a Full Attack on the wounded Dog at E:2 with Arch Luck
1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 23If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 8
Attack Number 2 (if the dog is hit and or dies, he swaps this attack to Dog at E:4
1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 18
If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

baldwin the merciful |

The thugs had running start and was able to jump over with his 12 that beats the 10.
Dirks attacks:
the dog in E:2 is down.
The second dog is hit by the second stroke.
Your don't really see anything with yoru perception check. Although you hear a loud bark echoing from what sound like a junk yard dog.

David "Dirk" Hawkins |

I'm running between my computer and to my daughter right now.
Sounds good - with only 103 minutes to go, I'm just a little excited to see what happens next :)

The rogue on your side of the grease (E:6) is going to try to tumble and get behind Dirk:
trhough a threatened square: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
If that succeeds he will attack with one short sword,
att, flank, human: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14;damage, human: 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6
sneak: 1d6 ⇒ 1
*for save Dc 14
1 con, unconscious hrs: 1d3 ⇒ 1
The second rogue walks across across the grease at half speed.
acro: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
The leader holds his action as a nasty looking dogs comes sliding up next to him, 'You'll git yer turn Alpha...just wait."
He does yell to you Dirk, "Drop that th're fancy rapier and 500 gold and you can leave breatin'"
