Janosz finishes off the ogre with his arrows, leaving only the armoured ogre. It stomps forward and swings at Janosz, but the ranger ducks under the blow.

I'm going to hold it here until the other group get to the end of their round, so we don't get out of synch. I'll let you knw when it is time to get going again.

Runzyl slams his blade into the ogre belly, spilling its guts, and it collapses. Ogre 5 down.

The other ogre crashes through the brush towards Ezreal, and swings his club at the mage. The momentum is partly spoiled by the tangled branches around the creature, but it is still a hard blow. Ogre 6 moves to N-O/30-31, and hits for 17 points of damage (not including DR).

Meanwhile, an ogre finally struggles free of the web. Ogre 7 is now at P-Q/46-47.

The barghest smiles at Runzyl, showing horrid fangs. "Well, friend, why don't we talk about this first," it growls, eyes glowing as it draws a greatsword. Runzyl needs to make a DC 16 Will save - it is an Enchantment effect.

Ezreal slides back in the dirt trail with the force of the blow, but remarkably appears to be fine. Actually he looks better as his gray pallor and puckered skin quickly return to a normal healthy pale. Stepping back he points and a glimmering ray strikes the ogre facing Arek.

Ranged Touch: 6 + 6 + 1 PB = 13
Strength penalty: 6+3 = 9
Duration: 6 minutes (almost 6 minutes longer than his lifespan I'd bet)

Will save: 10 + 2 + 5(AP) = 17. I was sweating there for a minute! Runzyl staggers from the enchantment, knowing that this creature was his foe but beginning to question his own senses. Finally, with a gruff shake of his head, the warrior instinct prevailed and he glared at the barghest with renewed fervor.

Bool wheels around wild-eyed, blood running off his axe. He stands for a moment over his kill, jaw extended thrusting his tusks like an animal offering a challenge. Once he turns enough to see the ogre on Arek, Bool rushes the giant from behind, winding up his axe like he's about to chop wood.

SA: Attack 13+12 = 25 +2 flanking = 27
Damage: 7+8 =15
Rage: 2nd round
Reminder: Bool has Shield of Faith active

Bool ducks around the foliage to get at the ogre, but it spots him, turns and lands a mighty blow on his hip and abdomen. Bool cries at the pain, but grits his teeth and chops at the giant, a painful strike to its buttock. 20 points of damage to Bool, not including DR.

That isn't flanking, but Bool hits anyway. Arek needs to move to the left for flanking.

Meanwhile, the ogres in the web continue to pul themselves clear. Ogre 1 to J-K/41-42, Ogre 2 to L-M/43-44.

Hmm... It looked like a line drawn from the corner of O32 and the corner of Arek's square would pass directly through the center of the ogre's squares. That doesn't count as flanking? I'm not all that familiar as I never play melee types.

Bool is at 2 hp, which will be -6 when his rage ends (4 more rounds).

Gnarly delays until initiative 14.

Janosz' 5' steps to D17 and Rapid Shots the armoured ogre. Attack 1: 13+8+1=AC 22, damage 6+2+1=9. Attack 2: 15+8+1=AC 24, damage 7+2+1=10. Attack 3: 9+3+1=AC 13, which is presumably a miss.

Realising that Bess is out of ammo, Gnarly drops his crossbow and throws himself at the giant.

Tumble to H15 while drawing his dwarven waraxe, which he probtly buries in the ogre's kidneys. Tumble check 11+9=20. Attack roll 16+6+2(flank)=AC 24, damage 8+2+2(favoured enemy)+8(sneak attack)=20.

The ogre's up. Too bad for him that I now have Precise Shot.

Runzyl grins and produces a vial from his pouch, smearing the contents all over his wickedly curved blades. They pulse with energy for a moment, then fade back to normal. He taunts the barghest, motioning for it to approach. Move action to draw the vial, standard action to apply my oil of bless weapon.

There are no living ogres anywhere near you. Ceshto dropped the one that was close. The closest thing to you is the barghest which is about 60 feet away and not flankable. The remaining 5 ogres are breaking out of Ezreal's web and are somewhere (depending on the ogre) in the range of 70 to 120 feet away.

I'm fine. I've taken 15 points of damage (after LB's DR 2), but I had 14 temporary hps from False Life. So it basically ended my false life spell. I've taken only 1 point of real damage and (for now at least) have no enemies near me.

The ogre which just freed itself from the web crashes through the foliage, bringing himself within range of Runzyl. Ogre 7 moves to P-Q/40-41. The barghest grins, nods in mocking admiration at Runzyl's defiance, and chuckles. "Alright, the hard way it is, then." Once again, its eyes flash with a sickly orange glow. Runzyl and Trose, DC 16 Will save. If you fail, see the spoiler below.

Runzyl and Trose feel their will to fight seep away. You take -2 to attack rolls, saving throws, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls for nine minutes.

One of Janosz's arrows digs into the ogre's flesh, but the others bounce off its armour like buzzing insects. Gnarly's axe digs deep into its back, and the ogre growls. It swings down its sword, but Gnarly rolls aside and it simply churns up the earth where he stood.

Janosz shakes his head at the last ogre's defiance. "I admire your spirit, big fella, but you really should have run away when you could. This is when it all ends." Shifting slightly, he rains more arrows at the big warrior.

5' step to F17, before shooting the ogre three times. Attack 1: Attack roll 6=AC blah. Attack 2: Attack roll 15+8+1=AC 24, damage 6+3+1=10. Attack 3: Attack roll 2=AC double blah.

After ducking under the ogre's clumsy blow, Gnarly holds his position, striking the ogre with deadly accuracy. "'e's not brave, swamp-boy", he yells at Janosz, "'e's just as dumb as box o' rocks!"

No move. Attack roll 19+6+2(flank)=AC 27, crit confirm roll 5+6+2=AC 13=no crit. Damage 6+2+2(favoured enemy)+8(sneak attack)=18.

If that drops the ogre, Gnarly spends his move action going to I17 and picking up Bess. If it still stands, no move.

The ogre collapses with Gnarly's blow. By the way, axes only threaten crits on a 20. That's all the ogres up here done, so you can head down the path. However, they are not at the end of their round yet, so you might have to delay gratification until I get back.

Ooops - I'm used to running Gnarly as a crossbowman. Won't happen again.

Here's the plan for the next couple of rounds:

Round 1: Janosz moves to I18 before casting Expeditious retreat on Gnarly. Gnarly reloads Bess before taking a 5' step to I19.
Round 2: Janosz and Gnarly haul ass towards the rest of the party. That gets Janosz to Q25 (Balance 13+3=16) and Gnarly to R28 (Balance 11+2=13).
Round 3: Who knows?

BTW - do ordinarly missiles fired from a magical bow count as 'magic' for overcoming DR?
