No problem; thanks.....I learned a lot about some of those spells; I figured if homeboy didn't drop the lasso, maybe it'd help Runzyl squirm out of it anyway's.

More craziness ensues at work this week. Don’t know how much chance I’ll get to check the boards and/or post over the next few days.

Dark Archive RPG Superstar 2013 Top 32

Sorry for the sudden absence, folks. My home computer is presently out of order and I got laid off a couple weeks ago. Immediately after that, my mother passed away. It has been a very difficult time for me and does not show any sign of getting easier soon. Please do what you will with my characters. I have no idea how long it will be before I get regular access again. Sorry.

No problem, Fates. Take as much time as you need. We’ll be here when you come back or if you wish to come back. Runzyl won’t fall easily with us around.

Take care.

I'm really sorry to hear it Fatespinner.

Wow, Fatespinner - sorry to hear that. I think it's safe to say you'll in our thoughts. Take care.

Grand Lodge

Wow Fates. Shittiest year ever.

Early notice- I'll be gone from Friday (July 25 - August 10th) I might check in to read up if/when I can, but you all should NPC Ez/Illes throughout.

Again, I'll be popping out from Mon to Thurs this week; may be back Thurs night, or may be too tired....somebody wanna run Rodergo go for it.

Grand Lodge

This has been a busy week. Sorry for the lack of postiness, but now I'm out. I'm more or less gone until August 11. There will be one evening around the 30th when we are between trips where I will step in and read up and say hello.

Greek islands (Paros/Naxos) -> New Orleans -> Little Rock (AR)

Have fun and be safe.

How close are you guys to levelling?

Gil and I are 1700 xp away from reach 8th level. (We each have 26,300 xp). I’m unsure about the others. A check of their character sheets reveal a wide range of xp totals. Ezreal has 16,337 xp! I guess ithuriel hasn’t been keeping his character up to date. Rod has 24,849 xp. LB has 27,102 xp as does Janosz. Runzyl has 24,077 xp.

Rod and Ez should have less xp than the others since they’ve been spending it in creating scrolls but they shouldn’t have less than Gil and I.

m ROD! CLERIC 6 EXORCIST SLVR FLAME 5exp =125,535(cast as a 9th level cleric)

I'm definitely going to start itemizing exp. like mothy does.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

Mothman's the gold standard for xp bookkeeping. While I don't itemise my xp, I do add it as soon as it is posted to avoid missing or confusing the rewards. So if Mothers and I both have the same xp total, I'm pretty confident that that's the correct amount.

The Exchange

No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30

Well, in keeping with the PFRPG rules let's dispense with xp costs for creating items, and assume everyone has the same amount of xp, normalised at the Janosz/LB totals. Plus, have 1,000xp for various bits of roleplaying along the way, which puts you all at 8th level.

How do you want to handle Runzyl and Ezreal? I'm pretty sure Fatespinner was going to continue taking levels in the Tempest PrC. Ithuriel will return but until then another level in the wizard class seems to be appropriate. Its the hit points, skill points, and ability increase I'm worried about.

Will Jalana also increase in level?

The Exchange

No peeking, please Rarely Accountant 2/Auditor 4/Waster 30

Hmm, good point. Jalana won't go up. Suggestions for the others?

For the most part, the level-up is not likely to be critical until we next get into combat (yes, I know, that might not to be too far off). We don’t know how long Fates is going to be absent for, so someone might need to make a decision about how he’ll progress. It seems probable that he would level-up as Tempest and increase either strength or dexterity.

Ithuriel will be back in a couple of weeks, and we may be able to wait until then for him to level. The thing that may potentially make a difference in the meantime is the two additional spells he will get, not sure what he’d go for really.

Agreed. Of course, Runzyl's centrality to the story arc complicates things - we can't just stash him somewhere only to have him magically reappear once Fatey returns.

I also just finished leveling. +1 DEX, got lucky and rolled 7 hp and put skill points in the usual skills. I'm turning into one lean, mean stalking and spotting machine.

The Exchange

Well, from the end of Friday I'm on holiday for a week anyway, so it is unlikely we will progress massively anyway for a couple of weeks. It is obviously awkward with Runzyl, but I know he was going Tempest before going Revenant Blade (or whatever that PrC is for valenar warriors). I suggest we leave it for the moment, and if necessary we can put up a contingent Runzyl on my Demented/Malformed page until Fatey gets back. I think Ithers is back in sufficient time that he isn't really a problem.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

Alright, just scanned back through the discussion thread for when we hit level 4 (October 2007 for those playing along at home).

At that point Fates increased Runzyl’s Strength score, so I’d say he’d do so again, to get the pay off (the extra +1 modifier). He planned to take five levels of Tempest then switch to Revenant Blade (whatever that is), so I guess skill points-wise we might check if there’s any pre-reqs for that.

Ithuriel discussed his plans for feat progression a while back, but I couldn’t find any definite discussion on spell progression. I seem to remember him talking about a prestige class at some point, but couldn’t find that discussion.

EDIT: ninjad by the DM.
Now I need to head home so I can check my Eberron book and level up.

Has anyone mentioned how efficient and cool this crew is? Just looking at the last few posts since I looked last, and you just seem to be so very on the same page. I'm not even on the same page with myself from one day to the next...

Will be leveling up in the next day or two. Hadn't given it much thought yet.

The Exchange

Well, it goes without saying that I'm cool.

m ROD! CLERIC 6 EXORCIST SLVR FLAME 5exp =125,535(cast as a 9th level cleric)

I'll level up tonight.....maybe tomorrow.

For those that might be curious, Recaster 2 was not a compelling choice at this time, but by delaying one level, she should be able to add Fireball to her repertoire next level. If she survives to 9th.

Grand Lodge

As it turns out, I'm in Athens for one evening before we leave for the US so I can level up tonight.

This is the level where I was thinking about stepping into a PrC, but I'll have to look and see if I still think it is a good idea right now. If I take it I lose a level of spellcasting, which is not nice. There was also a fluff Pre Req which required the dm to agree to taking the class basically as you have to have a vision of some sort or other. That was why I brought it up originally. I'll look again in a moment.

And no- I don't really track the xp. I do track what I have burned so I could always see how far I was behind. Aubrey- I'm all in favor of losing the xp costs, but last I looked PfRPG balanced that by multiplying the xp costs and converting them into buckets of gold.

Grand Lodge

8th level of Wizard

+1 INT
+3 hp (1+2)
+6 skills = Conc, Kn Arcana, History, Planes, Appraise, Spellcraft

Just read, Mothman, that you didn't pre-order a copy of the PFRPG. Are you planning to get it at your FLGS or are you waiting until November and downloading the pdf in the meantime? :)

Liberty's Edge

Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5

Me neither.
FLGS!!!
I got a good feeling about it.

Then you'll probably have it before me. I ordered mine from Amazon and its showing a Sept. 8 for shipping. I hope I got my order on time since I placed it on 6/27.

Liberty's Edge

Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5

I'm just tryin' to stay positive.....I have no idea if I'll score it. I think I will though.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

Yeah, I was going to get the PDF and get a hard copy from my LGS. Although it might be better if I had a FLGS...

I'll see how I go. I've just joined a new RL gaming group (well ... kind of. First game is tonight, but I can't make it), they're going to start a new game using PFRPG in about a month, so I'd like to have a hard copy before then, but I can use the PDF if needs be.

Pre-ordered mine and my groups' from Paizo - we don't really have a gaming store in the area, just a bookstore that keeps taking more and more shelf space away from the gaming books. Down to about three linear feet, I reckon, and most of that is trade-ins or 4e. (I've already gleaned everything I want from the trade-ins, so that's not all bad.)

I'm hoping to receive mine this month, but I did opt for the Pony Express shipping option. With over 16 lb of printed material, my wallet was crying over the shipping & handling before I had even started the order.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Expert 5

...and then I'm back in the US of A, so my posting times are back to normal.

I haven't ordered my PF yet, but I'll certainly get it from Paizo; no FLGS that I'm aware of in my area. I think I'll wait for my paycheck first, though.

Grand Lodge

Back in Athens. Gonna get a little sleep and then I'll catch up this evening.

Both of the game stores I know from Little Rock were closed. I didn't particularly like the guy who owned both, but was a little sad to see they weren't there. I did manage to get a copy of the PF CS at B&N though so that's something.

Welcome back.

Grand Lodge

It was a good trip. Little beach time, then some New Orleans debauchery, which we mostly avoided. Had a few chances to dress up nice and have a memorable evening in some old classic hotel bars and restaurants. I was a little amazed at how many half-lidded glazed faces were wandering the streets of the French Quarter and flashing ta-ta's even on some random days in August.

Then we got to see all my old friends in Little Rock who I hadn't seen in 4 years, had way too much to drink, saw some tiny secret rock shows, and got engaged along the way. All in all- a pretty great trip.

Hey, congrats!

My holiday was nice, quiet and relaxing, in a part of Wales called Pembrokeshire. We even got (mostly) good weather. A truly beautiful place - empty country roads, sea shore, low rolling mountains, castles, lovely beaches, blue sky and sea. Ah, wish I was back there instead of having to go to work.

Liberty's Edge

Congratulations Ithuriel!

Sounds like some good holidays. My month and a half of Hell On Work is slowly coming to an end, hopefully I'll be able to take a holiday soon (but I'll probably just stay at home and sleep for a week...)

Congratulations, indeed, Ithuriel! How ironic to travel from the exotic locale of the Mediterranean to the heartland of America to pop the question... Very cool, dude!

A belated congratulations on your engagement, ithuriel. I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday. :)

Thanks ya'll! I had picked out a ring ahead of time from a place in New Orleans and intended to ask her there, but wasn't able to make it over to the jeweler until just before we left for Little Rock. So I had to act fast in Little Rock because of the small town gossip network. I told one person in the afternoon and when we went out that night 90% of my friends already knew ;) Ahh Little Rock. :)
